care.com
Care.com has routinely charged my credit card without my consent. I signed up for a one month subscription. Care.com continued to bill me beyond the one month. They also make it impossible to cancel the account once you are in their billing system and there is no contact information on the website. I am extremely disappointed a company would do this to families and others looking for help.
I would like to be fully refunded for the monthly billing I was unaware of.
a babysitter
I need to be contacted to make a formal complaint about an unsafe caregiver. Her name is Marjon Suares. I had to have her removed from my home by police. She was sleeping while my children were in her care. She laughed at my crying toddler. I was forced to leave work early while my children were in her care for sleeping on the job, being rude to my children, calling them names and making my 9 year old feel unsafe. She should not be trusted. She verbally harassed me in person, refused to leave my home, took pictures of my belongings and my home and after 2 days is texting and calling and emailing me virtually nonstop. The Berkeley police have been involved from the start. I cancelled my membership over this. She demanded payment via PayPal- returned the amount we sent because she feels I should be paying her fees, and I believe she is trying to extort more money from me.
It has caused my children and myself great anxiety. I can be reached by phone [removed]. Or via email [protected]@gmail.com. I have pictures I would like to send. I also am a mandated reporter of child endangerment because I am a registered nurse. I have filed a complaint against her. My family is fearful she will come and harm us in our home. She had other complaints on her page from other families. I have text messages and emails I also would like to send as evidence. She should not be allowed to be around children.
Thank you.

Unable to connect with the provider prior to booking the service. Inadequate details on the care giver. Sight holds employer hostage for qualified information on care giver. Get back to basics, read the resume and then decide if you want to hire the applicant. Filing a compliant with Attorney General of California.

paid membership suspended due to non criminal driving records
I received an email stating my care.com account has been suspended. They recently ran a background check and found I had two driving tickets from 4 yrs ago. Mind you, these violations were misdemeanors and have been paid for yrs. I was just offered a job using the site. My employer had already paid me through the site as well. I couldn't contact her at all nor could I collect my money. I called Sterling Talent, the company untilized to run background checks and they said this happens all the time. They referred me to care.com. Any flag on the background check, criminal or not, immediately disqualifies one from using care.com services. They didn't even review my background check, they just suspended my membership without further notice. There are no phone numbers on the site. I've emailed several times but have it received a response. What's really upsetting about this is, not only were my tickets non criminal and PAID but also I have already paid to use care.com to find a job. They should have ran the background check along with the membership fee so that I wouldn't have wasted my time. I would like my money back if I cannot use the service!
fraudulent, non-existent customer service
Oh Man... Let me catch my breath to type.
The short of it is, this website is a total scam. They have poorly written, easily misunderstood language in their terms and conditions that provide them with loopholes to not allow businesses to cancel their accounts. We signed up for a subscription service with them and after 2 months we knew that this was not producing the results that we needed. I tried to go on my profile and clear my info, turn off auto pay, downgrade my account, and close my account. I thought it was completed, but the next day I received an email thanking me for renewing my subscription. I was quite confused and went to log onto the site and it said my password was wrong. I called the number they listed to call and got some unfortunate soul named "Michael" from the Philippines who told me care.com doesn't allow customers to cancel their accounts.
This website is an elaborate scam. DO NOT USE CARE. COM FOR ANYTHING. They will charge you for services they do not or will not provide and will not let you cancel your account. If you purchase a subscription they will ignore you after their methods and lack of efficient service become apparent, and you want to be rid of their poor quality product, but they will not stop billing. I had to contact my credit card company to stop auto-pay.
Their methods are extremely dubious and they are nearly impossible to contact. I'm reporting them to the BBB for fraudulence.
not being paid
Hello,
I started working for a woman doing housecleaning through care.com. I probably worked for her for about a month and she was paying me at the end of each week. We agreed upon $13 an hour. The last week I worked for her she said she was going to mail me a check. That was over a month ago. I have tried to be in contact with her I have called and text messaged with no response. She owes me $84.50 after having me clean up dog urine on her carpets for 6 1/2 hours. I am very upset that she is ignoring me and not paying me for my services.
caregiver search
I am a disabled veteran. Because of my disabilities, the VA has provided me with a stipend to hire a caregiver. I ran an ad on Caregiver.com. I spent several weeks compiling information in preparation for hiring a caregiver that the VA would approve. Without notice, and without explanation, Caregiver.com canceled my account and abandoned me. When I inquired, I received several nasty e-mails, and was given no information. I have never been treated so badly in my entire life.
charged my account
Hello I would really like to put my account down to where I do not get charged anymore. I would like to also get a refund. I was under the impression I was only paying for 1 month. You can email me at Nikki.noelle.[protected]@gmail.com. I have been placed with a family and no longer want my account to be charged without my consent. If you could please get back to me as soon as possible. Thanks!
case# [protected] — duplicate charges and refusal to refund transaction fees for those duplicates
Case# [protected]
On May 4th, 2017 the Care.com payment portal charged my credit card 3 times for a service event. The service provider did the right thing and immediately refunded the 2 duplicate fees. But care.com thinks that they should not refund the transaction costs and Benefits Program fees for the 2 erroneous charges that they processed.
I expect you to immediately process a refund in the amount of $33.98 for the 2 duplicate orders you processed.
Transaction fee: $14.99
Benefits program fee: $2.00
employer complaint
I accepted a job for a woman named Jill. I was under the impression that I would be doing housework, however when I arrived I was put in the backyard for yard work along with equipment I didn't know how to use. After I had made a mistake which was using their ant killer improperly and putting it all over the yard I was forced to scrub the poison out of the ground with wet paper towels. All of the poison made me break out in hives and start itching a burning. I was not paid for the 2 hours I was crawling around in poison and being burnt by the sun and then told that every move I had made that day was being watched by her police officer husband who was on his way home to survey the work. I was also told to sign a contract(I'm 17 not 18) saying that I was paid for my service. I'm not looking for the money I wasn't paid. I'm simply wondering if she had broken any care.com rules by over working me and making me landscape when she had hired me saying I was going to be cleaning her house.
This happened in frisco, Texas not Colorado
care.com scam
I was emailed regarding an opportunity to nanny for a child. They then without me accepting sent me a check which i was supposed to deposit and then give money to their caretaker. They sent it to my house and when I told them I will be ripping the check because i never accepted they threatened to sue me. I never accepted the offer, blocked their email and contact information from them and they still found my address and phone number.
nanny job
I was employed last 3 months. In that time I was taken advantage of, taking care of 2 kids. An agreement was made when hired and the mom broke every agreement as far as time, pay. I bought food and clothes took care of kids 16 hours on a weekend day with no extra pay. Was getting salary but what she originally told me was not what was. She would not pay me on time telling me her husband didn't send money and make me wait extra week. Second time she did that she said I was difficult as I wanted my pay. She refused. Took me all weekend then she only gave me half saying I had to wait for rest. I quit that day. She text saying she owed me nothing wasn't giving me the $200 owed me. I guess she got a hold of care and care never contacted me to question or even to tell me they took my account. The mom and care are in defamation of character against me. I have witnesses who cab verify what the mom had put me through till I just quit

stolen money - charged without permission - scam site
I went on this free site to see how it worked. I got a background check, used the free services for a few months and then closed the account, because it wasnt anything i needed and they wanted to charge for everything including opening messages . Account was closed Oct 2015 as far as i knew. I check my credit card for taxes this year and my husband brings this $20 charge to my attention that he thought was for a DR office or something. I called and it was care.com charging my account for a PREMIUM Service ! I was livid, I sent a email and they said they would refund my last month charge and that is it. I told them i thought this account was closed, i didn't even know i had a service so why would i have called to cancel. Long story short after several calls and emails nothing was done and i feel that this site is making money by controlling canceled accounts. I hope everyone stops using them and that one day a mass lawsuit happens and they get what they deserve.
receiving unwanted text messages
I cancelled my registration to care.com months ago, and I have just received a text message letting me know about a job opportunity. I do not want to receive anymore messages from care.com or anyone on care.com. Since I tried to sign in to the website and it says that my email is not registered--and I definitely used that email for care.com--I want this to be over. Please help me stop these messages from being sent to me.
Thank you.
profile
Im seeking for housekeeping position so i signed up. After i filled out fields i went back to see my profile and instead of housekeeper it says there personal assitant. Ive exhaust all possible re editing I cant remove personal assistant and i dont even know how it got there. I cant edit it so potential client Will probably mislead. I signed up 1 month subscription and i regret it because of the hassle i wasted whole day to fix it. you are too quick too deduct but you dont have a proper costumer service agent that i could address the problem all i hear are recordings and it is so frustrating. hopeless to resolve the problem. I cancelled my subscription that same day. Everytime i check my profile it says there im not in the search yet after 3 days! It also says there i need to verify my email and that they will send me a code i tried it 6 times already but i didnt recieve any text code. Pls understand that im jobless and for me to Pay 20$ just to be in the system takes a lot of trust because i saw your ad. This is a very bad experince for me. I just wanted a proper profile. Again i cancelled already and ill wait for a month. I hope you wont auto deduct me.
misleading, deceitful
It is my opinion that Care.com is nothing but a scam, suckering people into paying for monthly and upgrade fees with the promise of potential work, or of nurturing caregivers or hardworking housekeepers. Care.com claims that anyone can join for "free" but neither you nor the person you want to hire (or person you want to be hired by) can communicate with each other until BOTH of you pay to upgrade and pay their monthly subscription fee. Well, what would be the point of joining if you're never planning to contact anyone on the site? After I signed up (for "free") and then paid for the subscription and upgrade, I not only never got any replies to any of the jobs I applied for, but no one ever even looked at my profile - yet the "jobs" remained open. I believe that Care.com is setting up fake profiles in order for people to think that there are legitimate accounts and therefore shell out money for the monthly subscription and upgrades. It's akin to tying a carrot on a stick in front of a donkey pulling a cart: It's a promise of reward that's always just out of reach. Once I started researching, I found countless similar complaints on Care.com's own community board, on the BBB site, and on several online consumer complaint sites - which only substantiates my assertion that Care.com is a scam. I have also filed complaints with the FTC and the Massachusetts AG (where Care.com is based), as well as disputing any charges on my credit card.
membership services.
Care.com - Case Number: [protected].
September 6th, 2016 I paid $78 for a 3 month membership. During the following months I garnered many applicants for the nanny position which I posted on the Care.com website. My membership expired briefly while I was in contact with several applicants for the job. December 12th, I reinstated my membership for one month and was contacting those applicants when my account was abruptly closed, less than 24 hours afterward. I paid Care.com for all those applicants which I was fielding for the job. The response I initially received had a list of reasons for which I would be removed from the website. None of them applied to me.
I'm being discriminated against for allegations that are not substantiated. I was polite and professional yet was shown the door and told never to come back. I lost many applicants for which I paid for. I'm a single parent working two jobs. I own a beautiful home and was offering a good job for which many applicants were interested.
I have to believe they received false allegations and would rather take the easy way out than to review it.
Some caregiver pressed the report button and they closed both accounts most likely not just yours..The caregivers pic might be still up the account is locked. Caare.com covers themselves by eliminating all problems..You can get back on but you will need a new IP address and alter your name and address is perfectly legal...go to library set up account once approved you can go back to your usual computer. Its a good idea not to se your real address or name when signing up any service like this..They will do a systems background check on ALL customers babysitters and parents before approving an ad or sitter profile..its a pass fail and as much as a sppeding ticket from 20 years ago could get you booted off..but a fake profile will pass with INFO. FOUND..its a crazy system. Also they will sell your name and address once they realize its actually you.
pet sitting
I have used them for years, forget it no more, they want money now to read clients responses and they cannot read mine it's all shaded out, I emailed them now all the sudden you have to pay, clients have expressed their frustration about it to me and they doubled the amount for a background check $59 and $20 for motor vehicle, too greedy, Sittercity is free.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
taking none authorised money from my account
After subscribing under the one month option I unsubscribed before the month was out this was not actioned. I have gone on your system and done it a number of time you have taken an extra 58 off me two extra payment of £29 without my consent I want it back.
You have caused me to end up in hospital due to sending my blood pressure sky high with the stress.
The hint was the fact I only signed up to one month. I did the submission on your system to unsubscribe the service was rubbish the number of childminders was low and of really poor standard and none of them were ofsted registered.
everything
I am blocked and kicked out because I could not pay for a background check thats bull ####. I love care.com and now I hate it because I am not allowed to own an account because of a stupid background check. I need a job and I came to care.com looking for one and care.com really let me down. I am beyond pissed as hell. These people just want my money. Care.com is a scam big time. I will tell all of my friends DO NOT sign up for a care.com account it is a scam and they steal your money. They make you pay for a stupid background check. Care.com is fake and a scam and they just want your money. The staff are mean and have the worse customer service. This is complete bull #### and a waste of time.
