I recently applied for a housekeeper position on Care.com, hoping to find a flexible job that would fit my schedule. However, I was disappointed to find that the company discriminated against me based on the sound of my name. It's disheartening to face such discrimination without even meeting the company in person.
Despite my experience and qualifications, Care.com refused to hire me and never provided an explanation for their decision. What's worse, the position is still available on Indeed, which makes me wonder if they are truly committed to finding the best candidate for the job.
As a God-fearing woman, I believe that something is not right when people are discriminated against based on their name or nationality. The Earth belongs to God, and it's our responsibility to ensure that all of his children can live comfortably without facing unnecessary obstacles.
It's clear that Care.com discriminates against people based on their name and nationality, which is unacceptable in today's society. We are all human beings, and we should be treated with respect and dignity regardless of our background.
The Holy Bible teaches us to have compassion and use wisdom to help make life better for others. Unfortunately, Care.com was not concerned with my name causing confusion, which goes against the teachings of the Bible. It's a sad reminder that hatred and discrimination still exist in our world.

I used to have a free account with Care.com, but unfortunately it was cancelled. However, Care.com called us to reinstate our account, but this time they were charging. They wanted our credit card information upfront, which made me feel a bit uneasy. The representative promised me that I would receive a hard copy of the terms and conditions in the mail to review, but it was never sent.
Afterwards, Care.com came up with some requests that I was uncomfortable giving out, and they were saying things about what they would do, but they couldn't provide any proof. To make matters worse, their listing of our care center stated "THIS CARE CENTER IS NOT ACCEPTING REQUESTS AT THIS TIME" for months! When I contacted Care.com about this issue, they said they would look into it and get back to me, but that never happened.
To add insult to injury, I have a basic account with no billing, as confirmed via messenger. This company will promise you the world, but they won't deliver.
When I reached out to Care.com about the issue, they responded by asking me to log on to discuss it. However, I couldn't do so because I no longer had an account. I then reached out to them via Facebook as they requested, but I am still waiting for a response. It seems that Care.com cannot access the account as it never existed.
Overall, I am very disappointed with my experience with Care.com. They promised me things that they couldn't deliver, and their customer service was lacking. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for care services.

I was checkin' out Care.com to see if it was legit for findin' the right caregivers for my folks. While I was readin' 'bout the fancy premium subscriptions, my credit card got charged not once, not twice, but three times! They took $48, $240, and $131.40 from me without even lettin' me know. I only found out 'cause my credit card company sent me an alert. I called up their customer service and asked for a refund, but they said no 'cause of some policy 8.6. I asked to talk to a manager, but they just sent me to some laptop site. I told 'em I ain't gonna use their services no more, not even for the rest of the month, and I canceled my account. I also said I ain't gonna delete my profile or the app until I get my refund. But then they just rudely disconnected the textin' session. It's so easy for 'em to hide behind a screen. This site ain't user friendly at all. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Don't even think 'bout enterin' your credit card info until you're 100% sure you wanna use this site.

Disappointing Experience with Care.com: Unprofessional and Useless
I don't know why, but I didn't even notice until a month later because I never got a notification. I tried to repost the same job, but it made me create a whole new one, and then it wouldn't let me post it. It kept giving me an error message, but I wasn't doing ANY of the things it said not to do. Half the time, the site won't even pull up. I tried for about a week on several devices, and even my friends tried for me, but nothing. Eventually, it let me at a job, but now it won't let me edit it.
I paid for three months of service, but I haven't even been able to use the app for half that time. I had to open a new account multiple times because of technical difficulties. It's frustrating to pay for something and not be able to use it.
I did receive a couple of responses to my first ad, but this time around, I only got one really weird applicant. I contacted customer support twice, but they have yet to respond, and that was weeks ago. It's disappointing that they don't seem to care about their customers.
Overall, my experience with Care.com has been a joke. It's completely unprofessional and useless. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Concerns about Care.com Premium Membership Upgrade and Cancellation Policy
I was trying to upgrade my membership to Premium on Care.com at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 9. But then I started reading about all these extra costs for background checks and other things that made me worried that it might be too expensive for me. So, I decided to cancel my upgrade at 10:15 AM on the same day. However, I noticed a message saying that I would still be able to enjoy the premium benefits until March 9. This made me think that I might be charged for the whole month of March instead of just 15 minutes of being a premium member.
Most organizations have a policy that allows for free cancellation within a reasonable timeframe. I believe it is reasonable that I should not be charged for just 15 minutes of membership. If I am charged for the full month, it would be unfair and unreasonable. When I am ready to hire a caregiver for my grandson, I will consider how Care.com handles this "grace-period" before deciding to upgrade my membership.
I hope someone from Care.com can email me at ***@gmailcom to let me know if I will be refunded the full subscription upgrade fee or not. It is important for me to know how this situation will be handled. Thank you, Karen Gibbs.
Bought 3month membership then they canceled my account.
I bought a 3 month membership for $75 -20% off for a total of $60. I literally had premium membership for 2 days was in the process of getting care so I can return home and they deleted my profile on 6/13/2023. I literally talked to 3 people all of which 2 of them were interested but now I can contact them. This is supposed to be a company who helps people not steals money from disabled people and their families. This is absolutely criminal. Now I can't even log into my account to switch it off auto pay every 3 months. I want my money back. I am on a limited income as I am on social security disability.
Desired outcome: I want my money back and not to be charged anymore or my account reinstated so I can get the caregiver I need so I can have a life.
Paid for service and immediately unable to access account
I have had a membership for over 10 years, have had many jobs through the site. I just redownloaded it, paid for the background check that you HAVE to pay for just to get on to the site to update your profile. As soon as I paid, I was logged out. I cannot get back in, the password reset does not work, and the only way to contact them is through MemberCare - which you have to be logged in to access. SCAM! They literally stole my money.

I had an account for years, trying to get any work. Not once found anything because you have to get a premium subscription to even be able to talk to potential employers. What is the point of the basic account?
After finding a job elsewhere, I closed my account. Or so I thought. Until a year later when I was suddenly charged for who knows what on my account. No idea what I was charged for as I never paid for the subscription or anything.
And then I can't even contact them to figure out why I was charged. They have a complete no refund policy. Even though I've never gotten a job using their site and have been on the site in a year. But then you have to have a premium subscription to even contact them.
This site is complete [censored] and will take every bit of your money when you are trying to just get a job through their site.
Desired outcome: I want my money back and my account closed. For good.
Billing for elder care account
I opened a care.com account on 9/15/22.
To interview perspective carers, an upgrade to a premium membership is required for $59.88 for 3 months with a coupon code and then $74.85/3 month thereafter.
Around 10/1/22 I broke a "Community Standard" and was kicked off the site yet they kept charging me every 3 months.
I tried to reset my password but the reset email never came.
I tried to call, they don't have a live person to talk with.
I tried to do a live chat but you have to be logged in to your premium account to chat, which I cannot do because that's my problem, I cannot log in.
I'm stuck.
I cannot get help if I'm not logged in but I cannot log in. All the while, they keep charging me the membership fee.
Desired outcome: Get my money back for the time I was kicked off the platform for breaking their "community standards" and to stop charging my credit card. I was charged $59.88 in 9/22, $74.85 in 9/22 and $74.85 in 3/23.

I signed upto get workon care.com.A woman saw Iwas apianist and invited me to her homw to meet her and seeif Iwould work oput. She had meplay her piano and said she wanted acompanion whocould take her tolunch and collect her mailand get her out iof the house because she cant drive and is going stir craZy in her home caring for her brother. She wanted a friend who she would pay to go to lunch with her, teach her more piano because she said she stopped learning due to ptsd aroung something stemming from her piano. Well I had bought her flower4s in a vase I will never see again, borrowed money for a nice blouse for the following day for lunch which I wouldve have been at her home to take her at 1 pm.At 10 am the day of the job I saw her number had called me. I got a hateful message saying she had to have someone she could reach at any given time to be hired for the job and to cancel because of snow, It was sunny and bright at the time I saw the message and I messages her that the snow was gone and I had taken time off of my other job to clean my car and get some suitable clothes and she said since I was so on the defense and couldnt take any cancellation thaT wewouldn't work out. I had gone an extra mile for her. She told me the last person an agency sent was insane and she had to call the police to get out of her house. She just told me she wanted a companion not a bunch of dr5ama like me. I feel that I should be paid for the day she cancelled me and I feel Care,com should check the messages we exchanged on their platform before this woman calls them and reports me as being crazy like the former companion she called the police on. She was telling me the many perks she would give me, she owns 3 properties and needed someone to stay rent free in one since she had to fire the last ones living there, I wonder if this woman is a borderline personality. I am disgusted with the way I went out of my way and was fired before I startred the job and I want to stop paying Care,com but it doesnt let you really and you cannot call them. I feel I am being used and I am out of pocket for this woman instead of being paid a cancellation fee3. If care.com was monitering the issue they would know but they eay they are but arent. On Feb 21, 2023 i contacted care.com via chat to inqure about my account. I was informed that I had been charged $155.40 on March 26, 2022, and also charged $240.00 on March 26, 2022. I do not have a billing statement. Care.com will not provide me with a copy. I did not authorize $240.00. I did not authorize an annual subscription. Care.com's billing methods are predatory, and deceptive, and unfair. I am requesting a refund of $240.00 for services never authorized. The billing information provided via chat indicated this money was charged to a credit card ending in 9858. I am unable to locate this credit card information.
Please have the company provide the necessary billing information so that I can obtain a refund for this $240.00 unauthorized charge.

Card Charges
I just made a account on 12/29/2022 and tried to get the premium membership for Care.com. It had me put all my information in and my card but when I went to put my social in it said it cannot make a account for me and something went wrong. Then, I looked at my bank account and I was still charged the $5.38 on my account and it says now my account is no longer valid and I cant even log in using my email and password to attempt to unlink my card and stop getting charged for it. If I can get a refund that would be amazing because I can not even get in my account and I was still charged even when it declined me for my information. Thanks

Mobile site doesn’t show you membership information
Care.com charged my credit card for a monthly subscription without notifying me each time it renews. I tried to find my subscription information but their mobile site does not show any information. I reached out to care.com and they refused to refund one month worth of subscription because I didn’t know it was on auto renew and their website didn’t say I was part of a paid subscription. They said to try a desktop computer, in other words implying that their mobile website isn’t working properly. Very disappointed with this company.

False review posted on my care.com profile
I am in my 50s. I have provided care for my own pets and other people's pets of all kinds since I was 10 years old. I have an excellent reputation, an excellent driving record and no criminal record and always care about people and animals.
A man in St Augustine Florida (Miguel O) slandered me publically in one of of my 21 positive reviews on care.com with no just cause. Not only did he slander me he added false information to his negative review.
I provided care for little pay during the holidays (6 days and nights 24/7 including both my Xmas and NYE) staying with his wife's dog and cat 24/7. I provided excellent care and even cleaned his floors and porch. Due to fireworks and/or the chemicals in their home the cat was racing around the house like he was in a frenzy. The little dog was perfectly fine the ENTIRE 144 hours. The cat escaped temporarily on the last night and went under the porch. I spent hours searching but unless I removed all the wood on the back porch I would not be able to see him or get him out. I immediately called the owner and apologized profusely and told him I was using food and calling him etc. The next day the cat was safe and sound under the porch. I have neighbors as witnesses that I was VERY concerned and they helped too. Other comments he added are totally FALSE and he knew I provided excellent care. One of his doors was also defective and jammed I secured and did ALL he and his wife instructed me to do. Bottom line he never mentioned how long I cared for his TWO pets in the review nor did he state how many hours. He wrote the review intentionally to make me lose clients for ELEVEN months as I could not access my account. I was paid in full for all my services and he tried to pay me with a gift card before the trip instead of cash or check as stated on care.com. From the day I met him I did not trust him and almost changed my mind when he was disrespectful trying to persuade me into the unknown gift card for 20 min and lied and told me he did not have cash yet after the 20 min went in his bdrm and handed me cash.
Care.com will not remove this FALSE negative slandering review on my profile I have tried contacting them for wks. They just provide a boiler plate comment saying go to the help section. They also charged me 8.99 a month when I clicked on the special of 3.99 per month. Ironically called care.com they do not care about their customers loss of income or reputations by false accusations.
