Buyer Beware,
I had a terrible experience with Wunderfolds. Scottishfold Cattery.
The Owner Ginger Troutman-Pains located in fort mill, SC, wunderfolds@gmail.com is the worst kind of cat GREEDER $ . She'll sale you cats with joint osteochondrodysplasia, ear-mites and ringworm fungus and try and make you think that's the norm in the cat breeding world. Upon further investigation from other clients of hers who say they have had similar experiences, basically she is no more than a cat mill who has no concern for her cats, kittens or the family's lives she's ruined with her awful backyard breeding practices. she does ZERO health testing and has falsified documents to provide to try to create smoke & mirrors. Of course she deleted and blocked me after I made her aware of this situation. My intentions were only to provide her with a heads-up, so other families wouldn't have to absorb unnecessary vet cost as well as heartache. I truly was devastated about the matter, but I understand these things happen and life isn't perfect my primary complaint is that she finds this method of breeding acceptable.
By the way, she has breeding partners as well as family and friends do her reviews so you feel confident with making a purchase. Please do your homework & don't be fooled by this southern common criminal / crook.

We are devastated to hear that Pasha passed and do not want anyone to have to go through something like that. We have a 5 yr history of breeding and have never had any kitten with FIP. This virus has happened to ALL the breeders I know, and eventually, it was bound to happen.
We really tried to work with her, in taking him back to handle the care and vet bills ourselves up to a full refund of Pasha with proof via necrospy. We are in tears over the whole situation and really tried, but our offers would not satisfy Darlene and that's why we are where we are today.

As a veterinary assistant I personally know that FIP is caused by emotional stressors, I pleaded before that Darlene do the right thing and give Pasha back . This is NOT Gingers fault and she tried to get Pasha away from the stressful situation that was being with an owner that wanted to give her cats back for behavior issues then most likely stressed Pasha out to the point of causing him to get FIP ..

This is so sad and terrible. My heart breaks for a Ginger. I know how much she adores her babies. I can’t believe this absolute crazy woman would not give this kitten back after multiple chances. I saw the other kittens photo posted on Facebook doing amazing thank God he got away from this lunatic. Everything about FIP lists stress as the major cause. It is so obvious these poor kittens did not have a peaceful environment with this woman Darlene Smith. It makes me feel sick someone like this could even have pets. I read her emails posted and it is clear something is not right with her. I pray she never has a pet again because she obviously is not right in the head.

"CORONAVIRUS KITTEN WITH TITERS HIGHER THAN THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING" Those are the words of a Board Certified Dr.

Grieving over dead Pasha. Since this is the main issue here, I will try to just forward facts so the other owners of her kittens, especially those related to Pasha (Bert), Nikko (Ernie), a "twin to Nikko" that Ginger sent a photo of claiming it was Nikko? (it wasn't and I had to call her out on that), a half-sister (owned now by Nikko's owners), and a handful of others in the litters on, or around December 21-24, 2019 (also received incorrect birthdates). These are flags but not the big picture.

If I didn't state prior (I cannot read all the comments/replies as my heart is already broken)...

FELINE CORONAVIRUS TITER WAS 1:102400

BOARD CERTIFIED DR CONFIRMED THAT IT IS POSSIBLE THAT ALL SIBLINGS AND LITTERMATES WOULD TEST POSITIVE

A HIGH FCoV titer. A titer >/= 25 indicates seropositivity to FCoV. FCoV serology alone cannot be used to determine the FIP status. However, a high FCoV titer in a sick cat with symptoms consistent with FIP is more significant than the same titer in a healthy cat. Regardless of FIP status, a cat with a titer this high is most probably shedding a very high amount of virus in feces.

Again, I am here to provide facts that may help anyone with kittens born on/around this time, but, it goes without saying that my kitten got it somewhere and I don't have any pets and have been quarantined for over 2 months. My assistant, who I apologized for, was the only one in my house.

I failed to mention Pasha had a 103 temperature for over a week that could not be controlled with antibiotics. I gave all meds as instructed 3x daily, fed Pasha and carried him from room to room as he could no longer see well.

I did receive a voice mail from the local sheriff's department asking me to cease contact. Note" this was after I blocked her emails, phone, and consulted with an attorney in SC. We've both got enough receipts to wallpaper a house, the Dr's reports are in her hands and I don't know if she's shared that while sharing everything non-related, harassing me via email, phone, text, and on this forum. Note: Sharing my personal information with a stranger who is now calling/texting me is Harassment according to my attorney in SC. I realize the officer was just doing his job, but this breeder/hairdresser is looking for any reason to stray everyone away from the facts that I have paid dearly and happy to do so for my pets.

Latest update on Pasha:
His little body that never grew past 3.8lbs will be shipped to University of Georgia for necropsy. Given the current state of our world, our city, and the facility in Athens, there is no definitive date for his transfer. I will not have closure yet, but I know in my heart I did everything I could do for Pasha.

Please know, again, I wish to only share my experience. If the breeder, if reputable as she claims, will reach out to all kitten owners and let them know what I really didn't have to share. I'm embarrassed that it got to this place, but I feel it's my responsibility whereas infectious disease is concerned.

Thanks again for those civil few who listened while I am broken hearted.

A website should be made for animal abusers like Darlene Smith. I have found some photos and information and on google. I really think after all i have read and witnessed from this mental woman it would be in the best interest to post her photos and information on a website so all can google and know never to trust her with their loved animals. Would hate for another fur baby to suffer at her hands again.

WUNDERFOLDS, SC BREEDING CATS FOR 5 YEARS WITHOUT ANY ISSUES? I AM THE FIRST TO EVER HAVE A PROBLEM? THIS IS WHAT I WAS TOLD!

It took me 5 minutes to uncover information about Wunderfolds issues. I wish I had done more than looking at the cute Instagram photos and doing one internet search online. Here's what I found:

- Aside from the first kitten promised who literally died prior to leaving her cattery (Ginger said she thought water went down the wrong pipe when he was drinking!)

- Another client I spoke with lost a kitten and was heartbroken. He then received a second kitten who was also sick (I will not post anything personal as it is a Privacy Breach but he offered to talk if needed). Ginger sent screenshots after she found out that I reached out to her client that she removed the parents from breeding (Elvis and ?) No one is 100% certain that this was actually carried out, and I didn't read because again, she's sharing personal and private information between clients. I guess we'll have to take her word?

- I had 2 cats, one died and one exhibited strange behavior so he was returned/resold and now it's possible he also has Coronavirus along with all the other little kittens in the same litter, mates, etc.

So, I am not the first one who has complained, experienced disease/death in a kitten. Not that I expected her to be forthright with her failures that may/may not be intentional, I do expect and will do all I can to ensure she gets to the bottom of this issue and resolves the matter.

Anyone who is working with her, for her, and supporting this behavior, will be liable. Wunderfolds has also just been reported to the FTC for sharing personal and private information without my consent. I do not tolerate this behavior from those I do business with, ever!

I've had a total of 6 cats from "Reputable Breeders" in my lifetime. All had diseases (Epilepsy; Herpes; SAS; IBF; Coronavirus, and another that I can only assume may be FIP). I've used the best Dr's available, sought out treatments (1 of only 2 cats in the US on stem cells), and did everything a responsible pet owner would do for their fur babies. My pets are my family and I am grieving, yet again, after losing my last 2 a week apart approximately 3 years ago.

Given my past coupled with my current situation, I take irresponsible bullies who decide to part-time breed personal. I also, just like the FTC, will not tolerate the sharing of personal information online. I did not sign up for this. BTW: It's spelled Louis Vuitton and thanks for giving me more ammunition against you that has zero to do with Pasha and what I've endured since doing business with you.

Darlene, we are sorry and attempted to work with you. You were made offers that many breeder would not do. I only responded to your emails, never harassed or called names, but play the victim for sympathy. This is why I MYSELF had to call the police to get you to stop with your demanding and demeaning emails. Demanding i pay you in total for transport that you choose to do on a very drivable trip, even when i offered to meet halfway. Demanding i pay you in full in 24 hours or you take action. My facts of the manipulation of the story to suit your narrative are all laid out and no excuse of an imaginary assistant sending emails will excuse the lies. The proof is there we offered to take him back and refund his price are there. I'm sorry that you feel entitled to more after owning more after owning the cats nearly 3 months with no complaints before now. Still, we tried to help, but what most breeders won't even offer was still not enough.

On another note, when attaching photos to emails, it can be very hard to see the difference between 2 very similar cats on a thumbnail pic on the phone. When you asked, i noticed and immediately snapped a pic of yours and sent it. The dob, I'm sorry if TICA wrote the wrong date by 3 days earlier, which does not affect the litters ability to be registered nor his health. These are things you are nitpicking to try to pin me as a bad breeder. I've had enough people in my home to know how things are ran here and always get comments about how clean we are, so for someone who couldn't be bothered to drive 4 hours to check it out, you have no business commenting.

There are 8 other kittens born from the same pairing. Zero issues. Fip came develop environmentally...yet we were still here to help by refund of the cat and taking on his treatment. You declined and demanded payment of over 5k or you would take action.

Also, I want to point out another fabrication. Above, you say you told the nanny that did your services since you would only be sending one cat back that you were paying her $300 and not $350. My nanny that makes all the arrangements said you told her that you thought the first time was $300 and that was why it was short. Which version of the truth is it? Her min fee is $350 anyway, and not for you to determine how much you pay for one vs 2. You are paying her time, not how many kittens she takes.

You are trying to make it sound as though i sold a kitten that died from drinking Water? You are referring to a kitten that was 3 weeks old, , and vet saw fluid in the lungs and he did pass.. this was not reserved to you, and kittens are fragile and sometimes don't make it past the first few weeks of life. That's why they are born in litters. All the dighing and you came up with one issue other than your own 5 yrs/30 litters...and we refunded them and when I asked about this conversation with you, his wife emailed to say she is sorry I'm dealing with you. The situation with you was also offered to be rectified, but again, you refused. You cannot pin me as a bad breeder with 2 UNRELATED issues over this long breeding live animals!
I never said we had zero issues. We've had zero FIP. This woman is stalking my IG to find any problems and she found ONE person who got a kitten with a genetic diaphramatic hernia. They did risky surgery and she died. They wanted a kitten from same pairing and sent them one i had kept (only for cost of spay) and found she also had the issue. We transported her back, our cost, and spayed both parents. What more can I do to rectify that situation? The cat was then taken to my vet, got an ultrasound and vet said she is probably going to be fine and surgery more risky than the condition. She was disclosed as having a genetic diaphramatic hernia to a new family and given as a pet for free. When I heard Darlene was digging to try to find dirt, I provided her proof of what happened (screenshots of the refund to the owners of almost $2800, emails between myself and new owner disclosing condition and giving her for free.)
So sorry that the new owner called you since you lied about behavior, but from everything I've saw that he has texted back to you he's told you to LEAVE HIM ALONE and best of luck. Ill be recommending he also call the police if you continue to harrass him. The phone number was on the vet record that would not download and I felt interactions with you so unpleasant as to not want to reach out to have you resend them for new owners. Your privacy statement only applies to intercepting of the emails and i told you i would use your words to prove your lies if you wanted to go here. The wunderfolds@gmail.com was intended for me, and therefore, I'm welcome to share with whomever I need to and I certainly will share since the lies are in black and white. Have a good day and when you want to show some actual proof of anything let me know. We are contact with a lawyer for slander...

I'm sure all bad breeders go to the vet to get chest xrays on a 3 week old kitten with labored breathing. Darlene saying he was ready to go is another COMPLETE falsehood. Digging for anything she can. I have an email dated 4 days prior to the one below saying he may be available. He was NEVER reserved to her, much less ready to go to a new home at only 3 weeks old. The vet said the pattern of fluid did not look like pneumonia and I'm only stating what the vet reasoned may have been the issue with the fluids in his lungs. Again, stalking me to come up with one issue that was completely refunded parents spayed and neutered. I would call that a failure to prove her point.

Just make the situation right! How hard is that?! Unless you are a greedy kitten mill pumping them out as fast as you can and suppressing anyone who tries to warn others before they fund your twisted operation. You should be ashamed. This poor woman lost both of her babies and you focus on her purse? You pump out 20+ kittens a month take the L you loser and move on.

Ginger Sux? Sounds like someone with a personal problem with me and I have a few ideas of who you are, and you've got a few practices that aren't above the bar. Anyway, I would love to know how I "suppress" complaints when this board is right here for anyone to write on, including fake reviews like the original one in this thread. We definitely don't produce that many kittens. Please ask my waitlist who have been waiting 6 + months on a kitten there are that many available. No way anyone could handle taking care of 20 kittens every month. This is a ridiculous and fake accusation.

DeeBlondie, I’m sorry for your loss but your behavior towards this situation is ridiculous. If your kittens were sick, why did you email her after getting a vet check saying they were all healthy? Then weeks later complain about BEHAVIOR issues, not health issues? Which I also find preposterous because I have been to Ginger’s house when I purchased my first 2 kittens from her. I met all of the cats, kittens, saw the nursery, and the effort and time Ginger puts in to giving them a clean, spacious and healthy environment is applaudable. She bathes her babies for goodness sake! I now have three kittens from Ginger and their personalities are nothing short of docile, sweet, gentle, and loving. Kittens are live animals and have weak immune systems, and they can get sick easily. I’ve cared for a kitten that passed from FIP, and I’m unsure as to why your doctor failed to tell you FIP can occur at any time a kitten is stressed with a cold in their system, and symptoms will show within a few days once it converts to FIP. If you had Pasha for practically two months, she got the cold and FIP in YOUR care. Not trying to place blame on you, but it’s ridiculous to blame this on Ginger. Regardless, I think if you would have just treated Ginger with some decency and respect instead of being rude and psychotic with her, she would have worked with you. But with the way you’re acting as if you’re entitled to treat her like [censored], she doesn’t owe you a damn thing. She also has already explained she needed to hurriedly get the records to the new owners ASAP so didn’t have a chance to block out your info, and I can see why you’d be frustrated but to react like this? After she has tried to bend over backwards for you multiple times. I’m sorry but no breeder would have ever gone this far to help you.

You guys are idiots on top of bad breeders. The comment above dated January 2020 was from another one of your sick cat purchasers, not me! I received my sick kittens in March, remember? This makes a total of 4 sick cats you sold (and partially refunded/replaced) first quarter 2020! Your Venmo account shows the refunds and I spoke with your clients. Stop dragging and trying to intimidate those who trusted you to do your job! I’m sorry to the others who had dealings with this horrible breeder. I have until March 2022 to file for legal reimbursement - have yet to be fully refunded but the guy who got 2 SICK CATS was refunded!

Ok, this is completely established that it was a fake complaint made by another breeder that had a long history of selling sick kittens. Google Life's a Beach cattery. I knew that breeder and had many of her client come to me with complaints, and so she made a fake review. Use it to fit your narrative though Darlene. I'm not going to engage with you further and will contact my attorney. We are still in the same location we've always been in as well, that you could not bother to visit, but rest assured others have as they commented above.
