Due to a problem that Chevrolet has known about for years and years, my 2012 Chevy Equinox quit working. The company knew about the problem but failed to fix it because it would need a new engine basically. They titled it as “excessive oil consumption” and did a “special coverage warranty”. I took my car in to one Chevrolet dealership and they said it was past the mileage of getting it fixed…well I’m sorry I wasn’t having a problem in your timeframe. So I took it to another Chevrolet dealership and they said that they fixed it. Unfortunately it was just a bandage and my car completely broke down a couple of months later. For such a highly reputable company I would think they could do better than this. My car would have plenty of oil and then all of a sudden be completely empty due to this issue. It even became a driving hazard because if I was idling at a red light, turning lane, etc it would nearly shut off. It would be nice for Chevy to take responsibility of this and honestly just give people a car because I’ve already been told that there are not any engines with less than 300,000 miles and that would be a waste to even put in my car. I would definitely stay away from the Chevy Equinox…really just any Chevrolet due to the way that they do business.
Desired outcome: I’d like an apology and I’d like myself as well as other customers to have compensation.
