I bought a water softener system from Chicago Water Pros in August . The system is now making a grinding noise when the water runs. The parts are still under warranty, but I've been trying to get service and haven't received a response. They claim to have been in business for 19 years and be a "family owned business," but it seems like it's just one person named ***. I think he builds the water softeners in his basement. When you call for sales, you reach ***, and when you call for service, you reach ***. However, *** doesn't respond to messages and doesn't return phone calls. It seems like *** must be selling enough systems to stay in business, but don't expect any customer service after the sale. There's an answering service to take calls, but *** is always away from his phone right now. All you can do is leave a message, but *** won't respond. If you buy from ***, don't expect to hear from him again. If you buy from ***, you become the "***."

At first, Chicago Water Pros was great. Mark put in a drinking water filter and did a great job. He was fast, fair, and awesome to work with. He even came back a year later to change the filters. I was super happy. But after having the filter for two years, the pump stopped filling with water. We couldn't get any drinking water from it. The product was still under warranty, so I emailed Chicago Water Pros, but they didn't reply. I emailed two more times and still got no response. So, I called the company and explained the problem. They said they would call me back, but they never did. I kept calling, a total of four times, and each time they said Mark was away from his desk but would call me back. But he never did. The last time I called, I calmly told them about my problem and how frustrated I was with not getting a call back. I asked if they could recommend another water filter company because Chicago Water Pros must be really busy. The lady apologized a lot and said she would mark my call as urgent. But still, no call back. I ended up spending a lot of time calling different water filter companies until I found one that said they could come and check the problem. Since they didn't install the system, I can't use the warranty and have to pay the full amount. It's not ideal, but I just want clean drinking water in my house as soon as possible, so I agreed to it. I'm sorry that Chicago Water Pros was too busy to even call me back. Now I'm starting to wonder if they're a real company that can actually honor warranties and do their job.

We had the business install an iron removing system for our water in our home. It was improperly installed and led to water damage in the basement. It was deemed that Chicago Water Pros' fault installation was responsible and attempted several times to get ahold of *** (the owner) to collect his company's insurance information. After several attempts from the insurance company and myself, *** went radio silent and never responded. This issue caused us thousands of dollars in damages and we had to redo the entire installation because Chicago Water Pros did not install it up to code.

I got an RO kitchen faucet and a Pentair injector chlorinator with a carbon filter and water softener whole home system installed by Chicago Water Pros/*** in Spring 2020. I paid for everything right away. I've been having issues with the pressure tank in the RO system, and the owner said he would replace the whole system. However, he mentioned that it's been on backorder for a long time. Then, my chlorinator injector started leaking bleach slowly at first. Within a week, there was bleach all over the floor because a piece broke and fell. I told the owner about it in February 2022. I made two appointments, but he didn't call or show up for either of them. I've called his business multiple times and sent emails over the past 2.5 months, but I haven't received a call back or an appointment to fix or replace these defective items covered by warranty. Meanwhile, the quality of my water is terrible. It's undrinkable, smells bad, has a strange color, and leaves residue. I would appreciate the ComplaintsBoard.com's help in resolving this issue. I want the items repaired or replaced to my satisfaction under warranty, or if necessary, I would like a full refund.
