Human resources at cognizant technology solutions (Cts) has come out with a novel method to harass employees not in favour with the management. I have been at the receiving end of such a shoddy treatment engineered by mr. Jacob raj who is a senior manager, human resources, cts, chennai. This method was also being followed by third rate software companies and cognizant (Cts) has joined the bandwagon adding a professional touch.
The following happened from april 2010 onwards to a senior person with over 20 years experience in cts
A) isolation of an employee who speaks up against wrong doings in cognizant.
B) hr, cts threatens him with termination. Puts him on bench & makes him angry. Hr records conversations & put words into his mouth that there is a behavioral problem
C) hr, cts sends him for counselling sessions at his expense
D) hr, cts promises him a lucrative posting post - counselling, drag their feet and not to keep up their word
E) after 3 months, hr, cts politely sounds him to look for another job telling lies that they can't fit him into any project
F) if he does not budge, hr, cts abruptly asks him to resign and threatens him with termination again.
G) hr, cts terminates him without any written notice or intimation and removes intranet & mails access
H) on his securing a job in another organisation, hr, cts denies him a clean service certificate and blackmails him to return some monies paid to him during bench period. Jacob raj, human resources, cts, chennai refused to even meet him when he went to the office to submit resignation and get a clean exit!. Mind you, jacob raj did all this as senior manager, cts, chennai and tries to keep it clean since there is nothing in writing officially.
There is nothing on record regarding reason as to why a person with so many years of experience should be terminated! It is a harassment of a cts employee and an embarassment to cts if made public.
Blackmailing him for return of monies paid during bench - is it not cts's onus? Doesn't it look like a bribe? Is cts so poor that it requires money generated like this? Only a few days ago the president & md of cts - chandrasekaharan was proudly mentioning to a newspaper that cts is a $4 billion startup ! And i have seen it's chairman lakshmi narayanan make donations to charity and take his pictures! Wake up senior management of cognizant (Cts) - you will be better off doing charity to your employees rather than strangers! After all, charity begins at home!
Much as i respect cognizant (Cts) having been a part of it's success, this incident has left me wondering whether the hr following a vindictive policy had the approval of the top management in connivance?
Name of the person is purposely kept confidential for obvious reasons - we should not be spoiling his career just for publicity like what cognizant (Cts) has done.

I had a similar experience with the same HR group in Chennai. For help I had spoken to this Jacob Raj too. He was totally uninterested in providing help not to mention totally rude and uncivilised. I am seriously thinking of going for a litigation against this company for ruining my career. They have the highest incidents of complaints on this website which is proof of their unethical practices.
I strongly recommend that this senior person be contacted and asked to file a compaint against this company for denying him his job and for unethical practices. I have proof that these guys were total boors while dealing with their offer for employement made to me. They had harrased me saying that my employer eight years ago had not issued an experience certificate and denied me to start work even though I had told them I could prove that I was employed here through a letter or reference.

These freak people are not allowing to relieve without notice and in the same time says we cannot provide cab so you have to resign and when I have resigned they are not giving me releiving.
I was terminated in Cognizant US, There is this bench policy of 5 weeks, you will be notified if you do no have a confirmed allocation you will be terminated and i was stuck in the month of december and when enitre country is in holiday mood, there was no hiring. Hence in the mentioned date, termination email was sent out without any questions asked. With employee having a L1 visa, no return ticket was given to home country and no over even replied to emails . employee with 7 years experience was treated like a Trash and sent out.
The HR Cheated with me as well. They promised me with a position of a Technical Architect They said they have many projects and ample amount of resources in Mumbai. When I join the company, I see nothing. A small project in which I've been asked to work as a junior developer. I left the organization just 8 days after joining it. Now HR asks me to pay 8 lakhs - which is so insane.

Yes, I agree. The situation happen to me when i was bench for 15 days. Some girls come out of TCO branch and cried when out from HR bay. I asked, what happen they denied to inform about their layoff verbally. I quit the company after 3 years. They gave more work but rating is poor no salary hike ( but i got 4 buckets when i was there). Company will make profit they wont consider you to take up to your life time. Don't spend money in Pizza's, KFC and French fries. Try to Avoid using star hotel and bar. Save money ASAP. If they want terminate they have to some amount (Go to labour court). As you aware no community is present for IT Employee. If you are the leader create one website and make people community. its risk and time wasting. Be cool.

In L&T Infotech, I experienced saddism, they have given me key US assignment, processed a high category visa, booked the flight ticket but a day before the flying day a saddist former CEO cancelled my assignment with no logical reasons. When questions raised they harassed me to quit. Firstly, they have done a lot of fraudulent act on earlier UK & us visa. I have done my part, wrote a complaint to immigration authorities in the USA & UK. Probably the ceo cancelled my trip as I was already opposing their fraud practice...

Connecting to above mentioned sadistic game of L&T Infotech inherits the mgmt technique from L&T. These guys might be running the larger company in same fashion only, this will eventually show up down the line. All of them have different different issues. There is no transparant appraisal system in Cognizant. Whoever ready to fu*** their pe**** they get good rating ..whoever is doing Jalra to their project manager they can only get good rating appraisals.. They are great fu****************
Very bad regularization process and methods. No hard copies and proper documented coaching done with a manager. They will just say 'here's the problem, fix it' while you are eating outside for lunch or taking a walk within the company building. To add, HR would just say 'it is legal', on which it is not. There's no 30 day resignation for you to find a job. You'll be put in a meeting and that's your last day. And what is worst, you're not allowed to go outside the meeting room until you sign a piece of paper saying you quit. Cognizant, prepare your lawyers.
CTS mailed the offer letter, followed all the online instructions and then i was stuck. my effective date was today, and i was not contacted... if they were not to take, why did they do all these things? simply harassing people
i joined the company and left it in 2 weeks stating that there was absolutely no work in the project I was already feeling brain Dead. I had neither received a laptop nor a proper seating . I had still not completed the client interview and i quit the job . Now HR is asking me to pay 150000Rs and need to know what has to be done to deal with this harassment.

Managers in cognizant are so bad and they are the source of all the politics. They have a new weapon in their hand. Its the 4th rating. They will give this low rating to any one who does not have a good rapport. I worked in cognizant for 1 year, all the weekends but i was not compensated. Had i been a US citizen i would have sued them.
This company just exploit indians. Indian goevernment should change the labor laws. Do you know that in Germany you are not allowed to work for more than 8 hrs ? No wonder if you are doing an assigment for cognizant in germany then you will not be promoted

Many people - 40% from my SME company who joined as freshers and trained by us in niche areas were crazy and joined these creamy 4 software companies stating they will get married only if they work in those big organizations.BrainDrain between Indian software companies made me to close my startup and went to US for survival.

More than 70% of the HR department in Chennai Cognizant is corrupted for job offerings with pay - above 10 Lakhs per annum. Just verify this by sending a 100 % eligible candidate for a position posted for salary above 10 lakhs, ask him to post his CV in Cognizant's Career portal. Though the candidate is 100 % eligible he won't even get a call from the HR department atleast just for a formality. The HRs will SHIFT+ DELETE all the resumes they receive in their webmail for jobs above 10 lakhs and wont even look at the resumes posted through company's career portal. They just bribe huge amounts by which they are earning more than 20 + lakhs per annum . I kindly request Cognizant's Directors and Vice Presidents to check the webmails of the HRs and the posted resumes in job portal to know the truth at least one in a week. This will remove all the Chennai based Cognizant HRs crime filled with bribery and corruption.
I have faced same situation. I always had a respect for CTS, it being my first company . I worked for this project where managers were as disgusting as possible. Too much regionalism! My manager being a telegu lady ALWAYS ignored people from North! I never understood what bloody problem she had. She never understood problems, gave ### lectures and gyan all the time. All the time putting me down for no reason whereas I used to receive appreciation mails from onsite clients and managers for my work. They gave me 3rd bucket with no hike! People were sent onsite whom they preferred even though they were of no good! I was also sent to TCS, Chennai for project transition and after the project went off to TCS, I was on bench for continous 3months getting calls from all kinds of ### projects. Forcefully I had to look for other opportunities and resign from CTS! Also the HR ... MR.SANDEEP CHANANA is a ###. He flirts with all the lady employees and NEVER EVER helps anyone.
CTS is getting spoilt only because of these HORRIBLE BOSSES and HRs! Managers there will never bother you unless you oil them nicely. Also you wont ever get any choice as to what you wanna do and which domain you wanna go. I was called from Kolkata on a single day notice and given training on Service Desk. I was determined not to work in SD projects and luckily cleared of interviews for Production domain. Not only with CTS Chennai HRs. It happened to me in CTS Coimbatore also. I attended interview and got selected but never contacted by HR later. When I called the HR to know the status, he replied saying that they are looking for a project opportunity. If they are already aware that there no project opportunities then why do they want to conduct interviews. I attended the interview again and the same case repeated. They neither contacted me after selection nor gave proper response. CTS Coimbatore HRs - Prabu and Ashwini dont know how to organize an interview and recruit people.

I am facing same issue. I joined Cognizant one month back. They gave me an opportunity of OEDQ Developer which is not relevant to my skillset. I am a PL/SQL Developer with almost 5 yrs of experience and hence I rejected the opportunity when during client round I came to know that this is the situation.
Now my managers started threatening me that if I do not join the project they will escalate it. I said OK and some days later, i.e., yesterday I actually got a call from HR department asking me to meet.
When I went to meet, the HR sounded so harsh and he said if you cannot take up this opportunity you'll have to face very serious actions which may put your job at stake.
He asked me my final decision about joining the project and I refused. He then offered me two choices to get separated : Either I should put separation from my side or he will initiate a disciplinary action against me. I replied him that he should go with what he wishes to do.
When I left his cabin, he asked his colleague to drop me a mail asking me to report to the project twice, on Friday and then again on Monday. If I fail to report, he said he'll initiate the disciplinary action.
Let me tell you I have already intimated them that I am open for any location, any time (day time), any client. What am I demanding is only the current skillset project as I have spent 5 good years in shaping it.
Please advise if you have something to suggest.
I joined Cts last year. I put my resignation as the operations was unable to provide me projects and they blamed it on me totally. They also came back with reasons why I should be terminated stating unauthorised absence and been in bench for a while. But I stated my data points that most of the time in bench I was on leaves and most of the time worked for a team without allocations. But the senior management is behind me to exit in 2 days and does not want me to serve the notice period. I'm fighting for justice but not sure of they will issue a clean service certificate.
Screw those CTS guys.. I got an interview call letter from Chennai office (Nithyaa.V HR name) and went to attend the interview in Hyderabad's office, as it is scheduled here based on my request.. Reached there on time, HR took my resume, after an hour HR came back and said there is no such opening here and many people like me were sent back. When we asked they said, may be the consultancy people have given you wrong information, but I received interview call letter from CTS HR...I am going to file an FIR and drag them to court

We are a sharing this information as we are group of cognizant past and new consultants and have been working on various projects at client sites in Toronto and are company well-wishers. We do not wish to be named at this time and hence would not reveal the identity at this stage.
This is regarding Manager from the Canada recruitment team - Noel Correia. He has be reaching out to majority of the existing & prospective hire consultants via phone calls, in person meetings at client locations etc. and proposing us to contract with a company called Arisoft - https://arisoftglobal.com/contact-us/ or InfoMaximum - http://infomaxium.com/infomax_wp/contact-us/
He also has another accomplice in this racket called Satya Kumar Babu. Satya initiates the initial discussions with all the new and prospective new joinee consultants and get a slot for Noel to meet with us. Noel Correia further comes and meets us with the solicitation to Join Arisoft or Infomaximum.
Whether we are Citizens, PR holders or Visa holders it is our choice which pays rolling or staffing company we use for our contracts with cognizant. We cannot be getting pressurizing follow-ups via phone calls, meetings at clients sites during the work week on these topics. When we deny the offer he further asks us for a slot to meet after work and is ready to drop us to any part of the city for this in person discussion. Some of us who denied the meetings were threatened that if you do not comply on contracting through above choices our Job offer may be pulled back and we may get lower dollar rate with other vendors.
When these type of solicitations started happening regularly with many of the consultants and when these discussions came forward commonly among the group. We all decided to find the reasons behind these incidences.
Few of us had some contacts locally working at Arisoft and who have used Arisoft for contracts with various consulting companies / end clients in the past. We were shocked to find out that the company owner named Imtiaz Lodhi has been doing this type of underhand dealings with Noel Corriea for last several years. Noel & Imtiaz have even created another company called Info maximum to transact on these type of shady deals. Imtiaz Lodhi has managed to place consultants in various organizations though this route where Noel Corriea has worked in the past. Noel & Satya in return get a fraud and kick back margin of few dollars for every hour rate paid to the consultants for every candidate that joins through Arisoft or Infomaximum as additional income for the whole year.
Infomaximum does not even have a company address and proper whereabouts listed, how can we all give them our payrolling responsibility on which our families depend for survival in Canada. We cannot lose our hard earned money to some illegitimate middlemen and be pressurized on joining a specific company for a benefit of few people. These are highly unethical activities that are taking place on the company premises without anyone talking any action against these corporate thieves.

They are constantly sending me emails every day to apply for their jobs! You would think after the fourth email of not replying each consecutive day they would get the message! Just today they even sent me a "thanks for submitting an application" I never sent! This company has some of the worst business tactics I've seen with its constant harassment with recruitment methods.
