Compass Group North America Employment for Chartwell/Compass Group

Have already sent a copy of my write up appeal to the HR office but wouldn't hurt to also file this.Worked for your Wichita State affiliation,Chartwell, for four and a half years.During that time out of some forty employees that onboarded from the previous account Chartwell managed to lose everyone of them due to an unfit work place due to overwork and hostility.I was one of the few that remained until I too was harassed and managing my work space by myself in a job that took two to three people to sufficiently run.Your present management team are inept, nepotistic, and frankly a disaster in the way they treat people and manage the cafeteria.Human Resources needs to look into these people and the high turn over rate, including the five sous chefs they've been through in their time there. Not writing this to waste time but state fact.Very poor place to work and until this matter's been addressed will continue to be.

Desired outcome: None, have already been ran out of the job due to over work, verbal harassment and absolutely no advancement opportunity.

Compass Group North America chartwells food service

Crap company to work for. Even worse if you work at the SCSU acct in MN. Terrible management that treats employees and staff like garbage. They follow there own rules and cut funds for training/hiring process to save quarterly. Lots of money embezzlement. Jeff Hillgoss and Ryan Dale are two terrible people you never want to work for or give a second of your time to. Jeff sank the sodexo acct and is still appointed in charge of the new acct Chartwells. (No one knows how or why this happened) surely the captain who sank the first ship is repeating his same course on this one. Its only a matter of time before this contract gets pulled too or worse someone gets sick/hurt as a result of bad management. Turnaround acct of the year? Yeah only because the criminal activity they do in the books sure makes the numbers look good when your not following standards. Pencil-whipping pros.

Compass Group North America Unfair labor practics

This is probably one of the worst companies to ever work for. Upper management, human resources, public relations, all of those people need training and need to learn how to deal with public. I have 3 family members that all work for Chartwell and for whatever reason all three of them are being targeted for no reason at all. They harass people until they are no longer able to do their job. They will write people up for unjustified reasons and not even give them a first warning, they write them up and give him a final warning with their first incident. This company does not know how to treat their employees fairly. People and salary positions are forced to work double shifts, overtime and constantly receive calls from employees when it is their off time. No one has been compensated for extra time. Food prep people are not properly trained and the correct handling of food, remember that if you ever eat at one of their colleges. I have seen employees smoking on a back dock of a smoke free campus while wearing their aprons only to go back in and serve food without washing their hands or changing the apron. The upper management people who work for Chartwells at Oakland University are some of the worst people I've ever met. Do not ever work for chart wells and I would strongly suggest not eating at any of their food service businesses

Compass Group North America Compass Group USA Heists and Lies to Student

I was ripped off on dining services that was canceled and unused due to tasteless service run-in with Compass Group USA. Throughout the the preceding 1 1/2 years, Compass Group contended that they never did provide services for my college, before coming out with the truth in April of 2011, exactly one year later..

Company personnel, Jamie Ballew deliberately and with full intent ripped me off for $1, 200 I was improperly charged for a food service plan that was terminated and unused for the Spring semester of 2010 at Southern Polytechnic State College. The food service plan was discontinued after a negative service encounter in August of 2009 where Jamie Ballew incorrectly handled a complaint of disorderly conduct of an employee. Next semester ( Spring of 2010 ) I was taken for $1, 200 for the dining service plan when it was rescinded and unused.

The terms of termination were that one may cancel the meal plan at any time by "letting the business office know at any time." Went to their service with my private credit card Five times since that point, so as not to utilize the meal plan, which was definitely considered business taken lightly.

I contacted the school official in Aug of 2011, and she said that compass group has my cash and asked, "They never contact you?" To which I answered "No."

In a recorded narration with Jamie Ballew on Nov Fifteen, 2010, the company unprofessional manager that caused me to cancel the contract, Jamie contended he heard "something about how the company admitted current assets for accommodations not rendered on my behalf, " and that my money "went to the state." But when I responded stating that, in turn, the funds were routed back to Compass Group USA, inc, the manager said that he "had to buy food."

The company executive, Jamie Ballew, and Ron knowingly and willingly commuted a tort of wrongful interference with a contractual relationship. The conversation was recorded. They was hoping that nothing would happen as a result (which I imagine would be the situation with many students) but that isn't the case here. Will follow up again after filing suit ( for the third time ) in Cobb County ın which their registered agent is located.

The previous time I filed a case adverse to this company, I received an answer asserting that this is the wrong entity, which was obviously a careless effort to circumvent the matter. At this point the situation has taken over $14, 000 value of my time as a qualified professional with a qualification in Management and Chemical Literature.

Compass Group North America Chartwells Scams Student Out of $1,200 After Faulty Service Encounter

I cancelled the meal plan for the Spring semester of 2010 at Southern Polytechnic due to a faulty service encounter that was not properly handled by management of Compass Group USA doing business as Chartwells Food Service. The so called "managers" Jamie and Ron handled the report of employee misconduct extremely poorly, and as a result I cancelled the meal plan for the entire Spring Semester.

In November of 2009, I wrote to the corporate headquarters to report an employee’s misconduct that was unchecked by management, and never received a word.

However, toward the end of the spring semester, I noticed that the charge for this meal plan was still on my account.
In response, I launched a lawsuit against Southern Polytechnic State University, after receiving the runaround between personnel for nearly four months. Then on November 15, exactly one year after the service encounter that made me cancel the contract with this unprofessional service provider, the so called “manager” named Jamie told me that he was aware of the problem all along, and that he had to buy food (as if this justified not taking responsibility in the matter).
I came back a week later to speak with Jamie again. Since he was aware of the problem and tried turning his back, I told him that this was tortuous interference of a bilateral contract, and he just blew up. Perhaps this was too many big words; hard to say.

The point is that the managers Jamie and Ron at Chartwells were fully aware that their corporation received $1, 200 for services not rendered and did nothing about it. No offer of a remedy, no offer of a refund. Any legitimate company would have been more responsible by following up and taking care of the problem. This report was also submitted with the Better Business Bureau. They apparently have a history of not responding to customer complaints.

Do not ever trust this company to do the right thing when it comes to your money. Their managers do not even have a high school education and will do anything they can get away with.

Compass Group North America Improperly charged for a meal plan that was cancelled and never used

Details how a faulty service encounter was not properly handled by management, followed by an improperly placed charge of $1, 200 for spring of 2010.

Due to a faulty service encounter experienced in November of 2009 that was unprofessionally handled by management, I cancelled the meal plan for the next semester (Spring 2010) according to the terms of the contract.

A charge of $1, 200 was improperly placed on my student account at Southern Polytechnic State University due to a meal plan that was cancelled and never used for the spring semester of 2010; however, the invalid charge was not correctly rescinded. Management of Compass Group USA, operating at 1100 S Marietta Pkwy in Marietta, GA, is aware of the invalid charge and has disregarded the complaint filed through the school on multiple occasions since then.

Electing the meal plan is performed annually on a contractual basis with the option to cancel by "letting the Business Office know" within no specified time limits. I cancelled the plan early on in the semester (spring 2010) with the Business Office and informed them of the cancellation again on April 30, 2010 after noting that the charge remained on the account. On May 3, I was told to wait for the charge to be rescinded. Three months later I was told that I never cancelled the plan and that the charge was properly placed.

I chose not to do business with this company on an obligational basis by cancelling the meal plan for Spring of 2010. I had every good faith reason to believe that the plan was cancelled. Credit card statements show that I paid out of pocket on five occasional visits to the facility in Spring.

The equipment used at the school runs on a perpetual system that counts the number of meals used in any given semester (by swiping a student ID card). The company knows for a fact that the plan was not used a single time for the spring semester. Cancelled the contract according to the terms of the contract. On November 15, 2010, Jaime, a manager of CT Corporation (Compass Group USA) stated that he was aware of the dispute and that Compass Group USA received $1, 200 for services not rendered in Spring of 2010. Management has done nothing.

If there were any doubt as to whether the plan was cancelled, it should have been cleared up when I notified the Director of Auxiliary services on April 30 of 2010.

As the nature of their business, claiming that management did not know the contract was cancelled is not a valid defense. Either they knew or they should have known that the meal plan was correctly cancelled, and that the charge was not properly placed to begin with. Management has chosen not to take any action and by not doing so they have engaged in tortuous interference of a bilateral contract. That is a judgement that will be reached at a future date.

Jaime is the same manager that caused me to cancel the contract, by mishandling a report of employee misconduct. By disregarding the matter, and by getting defensive to a report of employee misconduct, this manager displayed a level incompetence that no manager of "30 years experience" should ever impart.
