cooking club of america/unethical behavior
I have been a lifetime member since april of 2007. Member #20236i paid in full
$286.00. I did receive the pots and pans and a few cook books. Sincet hen I have not heard a word in the form of email, magazines or regular mail or a phone call as to what has happened to the company. It is very disappointing because I love to cook. I do not want to spend my time looking up recipes on the computer the suggestions and hints in the magazine were helpful. I miss the service that was guaranteed. I also bought the mixer they advertised which cost me even more money. I would like the complete refund of $286.00.
memberships that have not performed...
I am a lifetime member of the cooking club of america - #[protected], the gardening club of america - #[protected], the handyman club of america - #[protected]. All of these changed into one site, scout.com a couple years ago.
When I decided to be a member, I was loving them because I was getting the magazines, I was able to test products, and enter contests. I have access to multiple bits of information that was helping me grow.
When scout.com took over, all of that stopped. For a short period of time, I could log in and see my profile for each club but even that stopped. Now scout.com is all football and sports.
I am very disappointed and angry. I payed a lot of money to a lifetime club member for the benefits that came with it. I believe I should get me money back as the whole thing ended up as a scam.
I am very upset about this and want nothing to do with these types of clubs in the future.

lifetime membership
I purchased a lifetime membership several years ago. I have a lifetime membership apron with my name on it, a couple of cook books, and some magazines that I cherish. I was a product tester for many years. I haven't heard a word from the Club for quite a while. I check online and see they have sold out to Scout without notifying any of their members! Now...

I have been a member since 9/2005. I have not received anything from them for years. I would like to know what I need to do to get this situation resolved. I have not been able to contact them by phone or website. I would like to receive my membership fee back. My name is venessa lewis member number is [protected]. Thank you advance for your time and help.
I have been a Cooking Club of America, I am a Life Time Member for over 10 years. I too got an apron, some magazines, some knives and a pan. I received the magazines for about one year and then nothing. I finally sent them a letter, then am email, then I tried to call them and got a recording. I wonder if anyone has called the BBB. I wish I had the number I would call them myself. With all the money I paid I should have been sent the things I was promised. How do I charge them with a crime? lifetime membership
I am Grace Finkbeiner lifetime membership since 2009 member #2339539. I paid for a lifetime membership and never got anything in return so I would like to have my membership fees refunded, now. I am very disappointed as I am seeing a lot of the same complaints that I have from other members. You should not be allowed to collect fees for a lifetime membership if you do not intend to honor your lifetime membership. It is for Cooking Club Of America

I haven't heard from them in years. I haven't received even a magazine since 2014. Is there anything we can do about it? (member # [protected])
I, like all the others, have not received any magazines or any news for several years. Please let me know via E-mail (eevob@midrivers.com) what is going on. I am a life time member (member #[protected]) Thank You. Pam Bovee

I have also wondered why I am no longer receiving anything...a few magazines and promises that products would be shipped...
How can they just disappear without letting all the people who they made into "Lifetime members" know that there was a problem?
I want my money back!

I totally agree with that. I am also a lifetime member and I would like my money back also.
I agree that they are extremely hard to contact and when you do, you get nothing for your trouble. I became a member October 4, 2010. For about two months every thing was ok, then my magazine stopped coming and no contact with them when I tried to call. I have a lawyer getting ready to file a suite against Scout.com for my lost membership entitlements including my lifetime fee, Chef's grade pots and pans that were promised to me in writing (I still have my complete membership kit with all that was promised with the Lifetime Membership. Take my advice and do as I am doing, perhaps we can win our cases. Blessings, Pastor John
Hi Pastor John,
I am a life member of Cooking Club of America. I was wondering why I stopped receiving the Cooking Club magazine and email notifications from Cooking Club. At first I thought I missed my magazines because I had to move twice in 2 1/2 years although I always had the post office forward my mail until I could make the address changes. However that doesn't explain why I stopped getting emails from them. My email address has not changed. Also I am unable to reach their website. I get an error message that it cannot be reached or message is undeliverable. Do you know what happened? My email address is gailc5813@gmail.com. Thank you. D Chaney
lifetime member
Have not received any publication in quite a few years. Member number [protected]. What happened. I paid for a membership, I am still alive. I guess lifetime doesn't mean lifetime! I am very disappointed with this service. The phone number is no longer in service. Is there a new number so that I am able to contact someone to get this resolved. Either start sending books or refund me my money. This makes customers very leary of joining any type of group, especially when a large amount of money is concerned. Who do I call!

magazine and membership
I paid over $300 for this lifetime membership, never hear from them anymore and never get the magazine. What the hell?. I really enjoyed that magazine now never get bit anymore. Was this another scam to get peoples money and than never hear fro you again. Also the phone number you provide does not work, am I suppose to be surprised. I nhate crooks.
lifetime membership
I have not received any magazines, offers or any information on their company. I spent a lot of money to become a life member after years of being a regular member. I also paid to give a membership to my mother. I'm very very disappointed that I feel i've been ripped off. I want to know if there's an action suit against this company so that I can be a part of it.

I, like many others, was a lifetime member of cooking club of america and stopped receiving magazines in winter 2014. Why? Did scout continue their publication? I don't think it is fair to pay lots of money and to be dropped with no communication whatsoever. Bad business!
Did you know that they have several Clubs? Cost hundreds for all of them, and now we've all been dropped. If I did this, I'd be in jail!
lifetime membership not received
I became a life member in 2012. My membership #[protected]. I stopped getting magazines in 2014, which is part of the membership. I never got anything saying that cooking club of america sold out to scout.com and that everything was going to be nix and void. Would have been nice to know they went out of business. The phone# on the website no longer works & when I call the contact # for scout.com, all I get are 12 sales pitches before it tells me to hang up! Since this was a lifetime membership and I paid $450 I would like to get something back. That's a lot of money to pay for 2 years of magazines. I don't like the fact that a con is being made and that my information was passed on to them. My name is kathy winters and if someone is getting up a class action suit put me on it.
all correspondence stopped
I became a life member in 2002. My membership #[protected]. It's been a few years since I stopped getting magazines which is part of the membership. I never got anything saying that Cooking Club of America sold out to Scout.com and that everything was going to be nix and void. Would have been nice to know they went out of business. The phone# on the website doesn't work any longer and I'm taking it Scout.com is only a scam now. Since this was a lifetime membership and I paid over $300 I would like to get something back. When I go on Scout.com and put in my ID and passcode my info does come up. I don't like the fact that a con is being made and that my information was passed on to them. My name is Mary Fisher and if someone is getting up a class action suit put me on it.
magazines
I have been a member since 2004 now I have realized I have not received any contact of any type for quite awhile. I paid good money to become a lifetime member and would like to be treated as such. I would like to get my partial money or all of it. I believe it has been 2 years or more. Member #[protected]
i feel like you i've been a lifetime member since 2004 and haven't herd a thing from them i haven't even got a magazines from them. they wrong for that we dont have money for to give away we have families to but they don't thank about that. so i hope god god give them just what they need. Forgive me for that.
lifetime membership
I joined in 2001 as a lifetime member and was happy with my membership. I did buy a set up cookware for my daughter which I thought was sold at a fairly reasonable price. I'm not sure when I stopped getting the cookbook magazines every two months but it has been probably two years or more. I recently realized this lapse and have tried to call the company...

I ordered the print newspaper viking update for my husbands birthday. Little did I know that I was also signing up to pay $99.00 a year for online access to their site. When I noticed they charged me the $99.00 for an autorenewal I immediately called their help desk and they stated it was their policy never to refund anything billed by autorenewal. No legitimate, ethical business works this way. This company is nothing more than a despicable scam stealing the money of hardworking americans.
unable to cancel trial subscription
Signed up for a free 7-day trial to scout.com on 9/14/2015 it wasn't what I thought it was and I don't use it. I discovered I can't cancel online - only through a telephone call. But calls to the number provided all result in listening to 10 minutes of music with a "please keep holding" message. After 10 minutes, the music is repeatedly interrupted and i'm asked to leave a message since their operators are not available. It is now 11/10/2015 and I fear they will charge me again on 11/14/2015 despite having left multiple detailed messages that I want to cancel.
scam fraudulant company!
I began receiving magazines 10/2009 & really liked the magazine. I never got products to test just as the other complaints i've read stated. I signed up for the lifetime membership #[protected] and received the promised pots n' pans with the magazine logo on them. But the magazines immediately stopped as soon as I made my payment in full on my account. I received my last magazine fall 2014; I had not realized it was the last issue that I would receive. Almost immediately I received a renewal notice in the mail for future subscriptions with a new membership number #[protected]. I ignored the renewal notice figuring it was an error on the companies part; one subscription was enough far less two lifetime subscriptions. Being a busy college student in my last year, I would wonder where the magazines where but with excessive college home work to do i'd forget about it. I did make attempts at calling using the phone number in the magazine to no avail. Then I began to wonder if the magazine went out of business... That brings me to today. I had saved my beautiful folder that was sent to me with all of the paperwork inside of the folder and tried to call the number on the letter enclosed... It too was no good. I wrote to the scout company making a request for the back issues and let them know I felt defrauded. Then I went on line only to find an amazing amount of people in the same situation as I am... No magazines and out $300.00! Here are the addresses I have: 1) club headquarters: po box 3526 hopkins, mn [protected], 2) cooking club of america, 12301 whitewater dr., minnetonka, mn 55343, and 3) cca member services po box 1108, charlotte, nc [protected]. These are the phone numbers I tried one from the magazine: [protected] and one from the magazine lifetime folder insert letter: [protected] which is the same number listed on the back of my gold membership id card. Wow! Some how I think there are enough people defrauded that could bring about a class action lawsuit against cooking club of america and their associates. It is something I am seriously going to pursue. Any one interested? [protected]@yahoo.com let me know. And to think I really did love the magazine.
Elizabeth Romero's complaint sounds like what happened to me. I signed up for a Lifetime Membership with the Cooking Club of America and as soon as I had paid my fee, all the magazines and correspondence stopped. I too got busy and forgot about it, until one day I realized, I was no longer getting anything from them. I had written a letter to the address in the magazine and it came back unable to deliver. I was just in the process of writing another letter to the MN address when I decided to go on line and see what I could find out. Elizabeth, let me know if you decided to file a class action suit.

I have been a life time member since 2002 & I was trying to remember when I got my last magazine so livid that all at once without notice I stopped getting magazines from them. Also want to know if their is a class action suit, I know that I have member for a long time, but when your told a lifetime membership that is what you expect. It was a lot of money then & now that I paid & I hope& pray we can find out what has happened & get answers to our questions. Neta Ford Membership # [protected]

not receiving anything from them
I joined the cookingclub as a lifetime member, paid in full, back in 2008 or before (?), at first I received the apron, the strainer/steamer pan, and the magazine, and supposedly I was eligible to test new products and kitchen gadgets. I never received anything further with the exception of the magazine, once every two months! Then a few years later I was sent a new request to join as an elite status member for yet more money when I thought that I already had that status with my first lifetime membership, but when I failed to join the new membership they cut everything off! I haven't received anything from them for well over a year now, with the exception when they sent me some kind of collectible that I did not order, nor wanted, for a ridiculous price, (basically a molded resin piece of junk!), and when I refused to pay for it they cut me off completely. I explained to them that it was not kosher to send something that I did not order and expect me to pay for it, or to take time out of my schedule to return the item plus pay for the return postage. All i want is my magazine like I am supposed to be getting - for life, due to being a life time member and I would really like to be able to test kitchen products and gadgetry. I want them to honor my original life time membership!
failure to honor commitment
I've been a member of Cooking Club since Feb. 2009 - member # [protected]. My subscription was paid in full and expired March 2015. However, I never received the Winter / Holiday issue, nor the Spring issue of the magazine. I sent an email earlier this year inquiring about my subscription, but Cooking Club never responded. I was going to renew my subscription, but am hesitant after reading other consumers' complaints regarding this same issue. What is going on with Cooking Club? I would like the two issues that I paid for - but never received.
I have been a member since 2002. ([protected]) I have asked several times to test products and have not receives an answer from you. Today while looking through my books I realizes I haven't received one for quite a while. I paid my money to be a Life Member and am not getting a thing from you.

I had joined cooking club of America years ago, paid my fees and eventually paid for life membership. When I paid for my LIFE MEMBERSHIP I received the set of cookware, and apron that has my name and life member on it but after that it was as if they just lost my name and number, I received nothing more. Very disappointed with this club, I spent a lot of money for nothing... Donna Henricks
I returned merchandise that I did not want and Cooking Club Of America stated the balance would be credited. Now I receive a bill from a collection agency. I haven't received any merchandise from them in a year.
I belong to the Cooking Club Of America . And they are suppose to be sending something at least once a month and they do not .
The last thing I had gotten from the was an apron. That was 3 years ago. I am also a product tester that was the product I guess I was suppose to test. How do you test an apron ?
In 5/24/09 I sent in money for their magazine and etc. in the amount of $24 on my credit card. Going thru old receipts, I found out the I never received anything from them. This must be a rip off. I am on limited income and this hurts.
they have sent me "SECOND NOTICE" DUES INVOICE I have never ordered them-nothing to do with it at all.
Oficial Member No. [protected]: Loretta Jean Plymale, that's me then they say once paid DO YOU WANT YOUR FREE GIFTS.
This really stinks, I am getting something that I never, could not, would not have ever ordered.
I had a little confusion as to whose information you wanted on the form. I entered the scamming company's name and further down entered my address and phone information. I hope this was correct. I joined the club and paid the $12.00 membership fee. I certainly feel foolish that I fell for their scam. I don't believe I will easily get my money returned but did want to enter my complaint along with the others.
I have no clue where these people got my name. I keep getting bills. Now they say thier sending it to collections. I have never used or have received anything from them except bills.
I never signed up for this and got a bill in the mail . If you want the customer number [protected]
I have been a life member for a while now.All that i recieved now is the magazine.I get no offers to test anything. They stated that all life members would be entered into all contest automaticaly by the company. That we would be first for testing products. But life members are foregotten. The cooking club should be seperate from all the other clubs.I thought this was all about cooking. Not everything else.So they falsley advertised there club.
