Purchased a TCL TV from Costco on 9/24/23. We were advised at the POS that it would be delivered withing 1-2 weeks by RXO Delivery, Costco's "delivery partner". Almost immediately we began getting inaccurate texts stating that the company had called and arranged a delivery date, something that RXO had not done. Finally, after nearly a dozen text/email messages about the subject, we got one on 10/5 saying it was coming on 10/6/23 (twe had to wait at home all day to sign for it!). All we had to do was click on the link to confirm.
Clicked on said link and could not confirm, just a message that kept telling us to call RXO directly which we finally did. Was told at that point that the actual delivery date would be October 30th 2023. The reason it would take over a month? "... because you live too far away"!
It was very difficult to understand the young lady on the phone as she had a very, very heavy accent. We did discern that the TV was allegedly already in their Spokane warehouse, something which turned out not to be true. They had never picked it up from Costco. Why we were told this I don't know.
Yes, we live in a rural area, no doubt about it. When we bought the set there were no caveat's about living in the country and it possibly taking a month or more to get our product. It took nearly two weeks to find out it would take more than a month, or possibly another month, to get it.
Our issue is somewhat with Costco for not giving accurate info about delivery at the POS. The biggest issue is with RXO Delivery, a company that has a terrible reputation! Costco used to deliver items like a TV within a few days, no problem. We had purchased from them before and everything went smoothly.
Why Costco ever thought it was a good idea to sign with RXO Delivery is a mystery. Surely they vetted this organization and saw the endless stream of negative comments/references about RXO? Who did this?
RXO took zero responsibility, would not make/return promised calls about the issue, etc. There was no one to talk too but the young lady on the phone who we really could not understand. We finally cancelled the order and went to another retailer for our desired product.
Costco needs to re-evaluate their relationship with RXO. It's that simple...
