Depop Mixed Feelings About Depop: A Seller's Review

I've been using Depop for a while now as a seller and I must say, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I have sold 90 items on the platform and have received all 5-star reviews, which is great. However, I recently had an issue with the platform that left me feeling frustrated and disrespected.

I received an email from Depop stating that I had violated their policies by having double accounts and that both of my accounts had been deactivated. I was shocked and confused as I had no idea that having two accounts was against their policies. I had only used the other account briefly, two years ago, and had completely forgotten about it. It seemed ridiculous to me that they would deactivate both of my accounts for this reason.

To make matters worse, they gave me less than 24 hours to delete the other account before deactivating both of them. I check my email every day, but I missed this one and they didn't even give me a chance to rectify the situation before taking action.

When I logged back into my account, I noticed that many of my listings had been removed and the ones that were still up had been moved down. This made it seem like my account had been deactivated and left me feeling frustrated and disrespected.

One of my listings was removed because I had mentioned another brand's name in the description. I was simply describing the style of a tweed jacket as being similar to Chanel's classical tweed jacket. I wasn't spamming or trying to deceive anyone, but they still removed my listing.

They also removed some of my listings because I had used official website model pictures. I had taken the time to write my own descriptions and measure the clothing myself, but they still removed my listings.

I understand that I violated their policies, but I feel like they could have handled the situation better. Instead of deactivating both of my accounts and removing my listings, they could have given me a chance to modify my listings within a reasonable timeframe. It felt like they didn't care about the time and effort I had put into my listings.

Overall, I feel like Depop could do a better job of supporting their sellers. They claim to be building a better community, but it seems like their community is only composed of buyers. They don't seem to have any respect for their sellers and are quick to deactivate accounts and remove listings without giving sellers a chance to rectify the situation. It's a shame because I really enjoyed using the platform, but now I'm not so sure.

Depop Depop Review: Unfair Item Removals, Poor Customer Support, and High Fees

I've been using Depop for over a year now and I have to say, I'm pretty upset with how things have been going lately. At first, everything was fine, but in the last 6 months, they keep removing my items for no reason. It's really frustrating.

Just last week, I had a buyer who kept messaging me to know where I lived so they could come and collect a brand new eyeshadow palette off me. I kept telling them that I only sell through the app and I'm not going to say where I live, but they kept messaging me. So, I informed Depop about it. Instead of doing something about the buyer, they removed my item and sent me a warning about asking buyers to purchase outside the app, even though I provided them with proof of the messages. When I contacted Depop about this, they said it was an error on the system and restored my item. But over the last few months, they removed more of my items that they did not restore, even though I contacted them with proof that none of my items went against their prohibited items. They just don't respond.

Now, today, I woke up and saw that my heels have been removed for no reason. Apparently, they've been worn, but since when has that been an issue? I've sold shoes on there before, but for some reason, this time it's a hygiene problem? These heels have been listed for ages, as well as my other items that they removed over the last few months. None of my items went against their policies.

And now, today, they sent me a "final reminder before they suspend my account" because apparently, I'm selling outside the app. I haven't made any sales within the last couple of months, so I'm fuming that they randomly decided to say this. It's absolutely unacceptable that they don't even review reports properly. They don't even check the items properly, or why would they just slap you with random reports nearly every other month? One day it's a so-called prohibited item report, another day it's an out-of-app payment for a buyer report, and another day it's a used item report. It's ridiculous.

To the point now they are saying to me this is my final chance. Well, I give up and am deleting my account before they decide to suspend me for removing another item for absolutely no reason. Also, the fees are so bloody high. They say it's 10%, but it's absolute bull how they charge. It's been an awful experience!

Depop Depop Review: Terrible Customer Service and Unjustified Bans

I've been using Depop since 2020 and I must say, I've been a happy buyer. However, I recently had a bad experience with the app. I purchased a top from a girl and paid for it. But somehow, my credit card information was stolen and someone started making insane purchases with it. I was forced to cancel my credit card and get a new one. This was weeks after I had bought the Depop item and received it. You would think that the seller would have received my money by then, right? But nope! For some reason, she was not paid even though the money had been sent through. I suspect that Depop didn't actually send the girl the money I had paid, despite it clearly saying that the payment went through.

To make matters worse, when I contacted Depop about the issue, they banned me from the app. Yes, you heard that right. They completely banned me from the app, as in I can no longer access it on my phone or use my phone number to make a new account. When I emailed them to ask why I was banned, they accused me of "fraudulent charges" and said that I was trying to scam the payment system. The staff I spoke to were incredibly rude and threatening. They did not help me at all and quickly cut me off. The guy I was emailing with said he would give me my account back if I shared pictures of my banking information and personal identification. There was no way I was going to send a random stranger my personal info when it had nothing to do with resolving the issue. The whole situation was sketchy and I suspect that they were the reason my info was stolen in the first place.

I decided to make a new account using my other phone number and had owned the account for about a month before they banned that one too. Mind you, I had only made the account to browse items. I never even bought anything or interacted with anyone. When I emailed them to ask why I was banned for no reason, they couldn't give me an answer. They were extremely rude and snappy towards me and just told me I was banned for "failing to comply with their terms and services". I asked them what term I had failed to comply with, but they could not give me an answer.

In my opinion, it is my American right to be able to access social media. You cannot ban someone completely from a platform without giving a reason why. I hate this app and its staff. I hope both sides of their pillow are warm.

Depop Depop and Paypal: Prioritizing Buyers Over Sellers - My Frustrating Experience

I recently had an experience with Depop that was less than satisfactory. In fact, it was downright $#*!y. I sold a dress to a buyer who had been pestering me for a discount for weeks. Eventually, they paid the full price, but then claimed the dress had two tiny holes in it and demanded a discount to fix them.

I tried to resolve the issue by asking the buyer to contact Depop, but instead, Paypal got involved and decided to side with the buyer. They gave the buyer 10 days to decide whether or not to return the dress, leaving me in a negative balance with no guarantee that the dress would be returned in the same condition I sent it in.

What's worse is that Depop took a 10% cut of my sale, leaving me with even less money to cover the cost of the dress and shipping. It's frustrating that as a seller, I'm expected to share a portion of my profits with these companies, but when it comes to resolving issues like this, they prioritize the buyer over the seller.

I understand that customer service is important, but it's unfair that sellers are left to deal with the consequences of a buyer's actions without any protection or support from these companies. It's time for Depop and Paypal to start valuing their sellers as much as they value their buyers.

Depop Depop's Unjust Ban and Withholding of Funds

I was a seller on Depop for a little over a year and had a good reputation with good reviews and no issues. However, my experience with Depop took a turn for the worse when I posted a replica skull head with mounted hardware included on the back on Tuesday, December 27th. I made it clear in the title and multiple times in the listing that it was not a real skull. The listing was public for three days.

On Friday, December 30th, I received an email from Depop stating that the item had been removed due to their "Prohibited and Restricted Items" policy and "infringement on their rules". Within two minutes, I received another email stating that my account had been permanently banned. I was not given a chance to make things right, if there was even a problem or threat.

The only contact I had was through email, and I was passed around to about 4 or 5 different customer service individuals who call themselves "Team Depop". Their customer service was terrible. None of them could even provide a category that the item fell under, as I was told different things.

According to Depop's policy, they "will work with a user to rectify a situation", but I was never given that chance. They made an assumption which was a mistake, and now I am no longer able to even get on the app or website. They told me to "consider myself permanently banned", and "any new accounts made will also be banned and reported".

On top of the item that was removed, they eventually told me that I posed a threat to the Depop community. Their allegations are ridiculous and insulting, as I did nothing wrong.

The biggest issue and my reason for going public is because I sold two items on the platform to one buyer the week of Christmas. The items were delivered on January 3rd, but Depop is refusing to release those funds. I have those emails, the screenshots from the Depop communication, as well as my information and details on the listing/item in question. I also have the information and shipping information from the last sale that Depop is refusing to release the funds from. I have since posted videos on social media and YouTube calling this for what it is. No business has any right to withhold funds that are rightfully yours.

I am willing to do all that I can to be justified and, most importantly, receive the funds that are mine. I don't know, legally, how they are able to do this as I am not sure what happens to funds sitting idle.

Depop has since ceased all communication with me. If you use or sell on this platform, I would highly recommend shutting it down because this ridiculous situation could happen to you. I will do everything in my power to get what is owed to me.

Depop Depop Review: Beware of Fake Sellers and Poor Customer Service

Depop is a site that I would not recommend to anyone. I had a terrible experience with a seller who sold me a fake Kate Spade bag. When I received the bag, I immediately noticed that it was not made of leather as advertised. The seller had cleverly cropped the photos to hide the flaws and photoshopped the bag to make it look like the real thing. I was very disappointed and decided to file a complaint with Depop.

I provided Depop with many photos of the bag to prove that it was a fake. They sent a message to the seller, giving them 49 hours to prove that the bag was real. I waited for days, but there was no response from Depop. I thought that they had ruled in favor of the seller since they took so long to get back to me. However, after many days, they finally ruled in my favor.

The problem was that I had already thrown out the bag since I thought that Depop had already made their decision. Depop then sent me a message telling me that I needed to ship back the fake bag or return the money to the seller. They told me that the seller would create a separate listing where I, as the buyer, would have to purchase the bag again. This was ridiculous. I was the one who was scammed, and I was in no way responsible for paying back the seller money for a fake bag that I had already thrown out.

I told Depop that they could do as they wished since they threatened to "look into my account" and have it shut down. I was shocked that they saw fit to shut down my account instead of the seller's account, who had committed a federal crime by selling fakes online under the guise of a real Kate Spade. It was unbelievable that I was being punished for a non-compliant seller.

Depop rewards criminals by allowing them to sell fakes online, which actually funds criminal organizations. It is a federal crime to sell fakes, and Depop should take this seriously. They ruled in my favor that the bag was fake, but they wanted me to send the criminal seller back her fake bag (that was already discarded) so she could sell it on another platform. This was despicable.

I urge everyone to stay clear of this site. I have screenshots of the evidence, including the long gaps it took Depop to get back to me. I filed the complaint on February 8, 2023, and you can see the long gaps it took them to respond. I filed the complaint on February 9, 2023, and you can clearly see that they gave the seller more than 48 hours to respond. In that time, I threw out the bag. It is now February 26, 2024, and I am still dealing with this nonsense.

Depop DEPop Review: Terrible Experience, Stay Away!

I have had a terrible experience with DEPop and I would strongly advise others to stay away from this site. There are much safer apps to buy and sell on, such as Poshmark, eBay, and Mercari. The staff on those apps are much more supportive and helpful.

DEPop deleted my account after I had purchased several items from the site. I have no way of communicating with the people I bought items from and since they have already been paid, I am sure they will not ship my items out now that DEPop deleted my account. I purchase many items on a daily basis, so I have no way of knowing which transactions on PayPal are the items I have not received. DEPop's response was "our decisions are final" and that "I am being punished". Deleting customers' accounts as well as all the information associated with purchases made on your app that are not complete is wrong and I believe it is against the law. DEPop has stolen my money, but more importantly, my trust in their app. I had over 50 ratings, all 5 stars except for the rating from the girl that started this whole thing. All because she wants to buy back the purse she sold me!

In order for me to open a case on PayPal, I need the seller's name and the amount of the purchase, and since DEPop erased that information, I can't be certain that I am opening a case on the correct individual. DEPop also emailed me stating that they send all buyers an email with the name and address of the seller. However, I have never received an email from DEPop when I purchase an item with the information of the seller in it.

I just want people to know that when they buy or sell on DEPop, they need to be very careful because you never know when DEPop will "punish someone" by deleting their account for a week or two or however long DEPop sees fit. They don't warn innocent parties involved why their account was deleted, for how long, and how to proceed next. It is a very broken system that doesn't need to operate in such a manner.

I have also seen some false information being spread about me on DEPop. Someone claimed that I threatened them, but that is an outright lie! They have absolutely no idea what that situation was about because it started on Poshmark. A lot of our conversation was on Poshmark, so DEPop only got the middle end of it. And somehow, I am the one who gets a deleted account! I have over 1,000 sales on Poshmark, Mercari, and eBay, and this has never happened to me before. The girl who started all this is still messaging me on Poshmark, begging to buy back her purse. All of this over a $20 bag. You could clearly read the messages from that girl and how she was apologizing to me first because of her bad behavior. Yes, I reacted to her harassing me on Poshmark and then on DEPop by "using aggressive language," but I never threatened anyone.

But to delete all my information, all my purchases and sales. All my listings, hundreds gone, all gone! I am the one who reported her and her behavior, and she (who has more ratings and is selling more on DEPop) gets away scot-free! DEPop will lie and steal your money! No other company or selling platforms completely delete accounts. So truly think before you make a purchase on DEPop.

One thing that I found frustrating about DEPop is that there is no guarantee that the person you are buying from will still be on the site tomorrow. This can be a real problem if you need to contact them about an issue with your purchase. It would be helpful if DEPop had a system in place to ensure that sellers stay on the site for a certain amount of time after a sale.

Depop Depop Review: Unreliable and Unprofessional - Don't Waste Your Time and Money

This app is not even worth my time to write this comment and review my experience, but I'm doing it for the people who are interested in buying anything on this app. I'll make it short. Do not buy on this app. I bought an item on here a few months ago and waited 2 weeks for my item to be delivered. Instead, it said it could not be delivered and was being returned to the sender. I contacted the app a few months ago about this and after a few messages asking me what the sellers name is and my account name, they hadn't responded since. I then had to message them again a few months later and they finally responded. I figured to wait a while for their response because I just didn't care anymore about this app.

I called usps about my tracking number and they mentioned that I did not put my apartment number on the address I filed for the order but have never had this problem with other apps I made purchases on. It has always been delivered to my address despite not having my apartment number. In fact, I tried to change my address on the Depop app right after I bought my item only to find out that I was not able to add my apartment number or change my address after I bought my item so the seller just had to keep what was on the label.

After trying to get a refund for my item because it couldn't be delivered, Depop instantly told me without hesitation to contact PayPal for any disputes or problems with my order and implying that "it was not their problem." I contacted the seller about my issue and although they were somewhat supportive and conversing in this problem, my money was still at stake. The item was lost in transit according to usps and the seller got all of the money I sent to them. The seller said "it goes hand-in-hand" meaning that one person had to face the loss while the other got what they wanted.

I was very disappointed with the apps support and the seller could have been more helpful. So I contacted PayPal, and made my dispute about a lost item. They told me to wait 2 weeks for the seller to respond. If they hadn't, I would receive my money back. Indeed, I did receive my money back. The takeaway here is that not everyone gets lucky. I was one of the lucky ones to get my money back on an app that's built on carelessness and ignorance.

Depop's stance on me wanting their help was to contact PayPal. Even though I paid directly on the app with my card, (I don't have a PayPal account) it was still considered as being paid through PayPal. Very unprofessional and unreliable of the app to do that. I left a complaint about how they don't value their customers problems and take a backseat response to buyers. "It's not my problem."

I've used apps like Mercari and Poshmark and they have always been supportive of my complaints with ease and provide helpful feedback handling my situation. Don't give this app a single penny. They are not worth your money, time, or effort. If it wasn't for PayPal's buyer protection, I would have been screwed $20.

Depop Depop Review: Lack of Accountability and Customer Support

Yo, so I gotta tell you about my experience with Depop. I bought something from this seller who seemed legit, they had all these 5-star reviews and we even talked about the purchase through DMs. But then, after I paid, the seller disappeared for weeks! I checked their profile every day and they hadn't even logged in. I tried messaging them for an update but they never replied.

So, I put in a refund request with Depop and then the seller magically reappears and tells me that the item was returned to them because it wasn't delivered. But like, how did they even get my address if they hadn't logged into the app in weeks? And why didn't they tell me when it was returned? And why are they talking about the mailman like it's the 1950s or something?

Anyway, I told them I wanted a refund and they got all catty with me, saying they already sent the item out again and that I should be grateful. But I don't trust them anymore and I just want my money back. So, I tried to contact Depop customer support but they never replied. It's like they don't even care about their customers.

Honestly, I'm just so fed up with the lack of accountability. This happened months ago and I still haven't heard anything from Depop. It's just ridiculous.

Depop Depop Review: Counterfeit Items, Lying Sellers, and Unhelpful Customer Support - A Platform in Need of Change

Depop is a platform that has been gaining popularity in recent years, but there are some issues that need to be addressed. One of the biggest problems is the prevalence of counterfeit items being sold on the site. It seems like every minute there are thousands of fake items being sold, such as Playboy jewelry, Care Bear, Betty Boop, and more. Despite many reports of these counterfeit items being sold by top sellers on the platform, not one item has been removed. It's frustrating to see that Depop doesn't seem to care about this issue, and in fact, they even recommend some of the largest US-based counterfeiters on the app.

Another issue is that many sellers flat out lie about their products. It's guaranteed that about 99% of all the people claiming to be handmade sellers are actually buying from China direct to resell. They attach a link or earring loop and call it handmade, when in reality, they're just unwrapping and posting pictures. It's disappointing to see so many sellers misrepresenting their products, and it makes it difficult for buyers to trust anyone on the platform.

Another problem is that sellers use spam tags to promote their products, and the hashtag limit did nothing to fix that. Everything is marketed as Deadstock when legit only a handful even know what that means. Most items marked deadstock, y2k, 90s or 80s are not even close to being more than a year ago. Sellers flat out lie and spam tag everything y2K, 90s, 80s, retro, vintage, or deadstock when they clearly know mostly all are not even a year old.

Bashing is also a common occurrence on Depop, and it's not just limited to the platform. Handmade sellers love to go on Facebook and other platforms to bash other sellers when they clearly sell counterfeit items or China direct items or both. It's frustrating to see that fast fashion is considered a sin, dropshipping is "lame" or "unethical," but counterfeiting is cool. Most thrifters unfortunately do the same when bashing dropshipping or what they think is fast fashion. It's disappointing to see so much hate and bashing from the faux handmade sellers and the die-hard thrifters.

The feed that Depop selects is also a problem. It's the same sellers and the same image, with no diversity. Depop tries to pride themselves on being outside the norm, but they fail. They have about 4 to 5 looks featured on the main feed hand-selected by them, and that is it. It's nearly impossible to be featured unless you fit the look they do not vary from in the smallest bit. They say one thing or promote one image, but as my many years on the app prove, they do something completely opposite.

Lastly, customer support is not helpful. They use preworked universal replies and don't read what you write in. Buyers can lie, con, scam, stalk and harass you, and support will send you a canned response with condescending BS that only adds fuel to the fire. They also will do nothing when sellers spam you out of nowhere.

In conclusion, Depop has some serious issues that need to be addressed. Counterfeit items, lying sellers, spam tags, bashing, lack of diversity in the feed, and unhelpful customer support are all problems that need to be fixed. It's time for Depop to take responsibility and make some changes to ensure that their platform is a safe and trustworthy place for buyers and sellers alike.

Depop Not paying me my balance on the account after they closed it

Depop closed my account suddenly when I was pending payments from sales I made and already shipped items out to buyers. I cannot contact them by phone or access my account to chat with a live agent. Emails are being ignored. The total amount that was in my Depop was greater than $582 and Depop had already taken their fees and have closed my account before transferring my money and the merchandise was definitely sent out. They accused me of listing fraudulent items and I have proof of authenticity. However, it’s their community and they can do what they like. This is stealing and they have left me unprotected for their gain.

Desired outcome: I would like my account to be opened up so I can track my payment. I want my money for the merchandise I sent to the buyers just like they got their money from each sale.

Depop postage never sent and item never recieved and took money

i contacted @zoeking159 on the 4th of September 2023, saying how i paid for it and gave all my information,

and postage details the day prior i asked if she would ship it that week and she said that would be fine. from the fourth to the sixth there was no proof of postage or any communication for that matter, so i sent a follow up, and i gave her the benefit of the doubt maybe she was busy, her depop said she was active that day, so i send one last follow up on the tenth saying i would be requesting a refund off depop seen as she couldnt even respond to my tests when she is clearly active even today, she took the 60 euros and has not even sent the dress , my username is @laura35679960, i have not got a refund or seen my item. sorry about this i have had no problems with depop till now and her account seemed genuine

Depop Money

I have been selling for a while and had no issues money was being sent to my bank acount perfectly then I have had to close my bank account and then open a new one first of all it wouldn’t let me change the bank account then then once I did put the new bank account in it kept on sending money to the old bank and saying transaction correct which means the money has gone to the wrong bank and I’ve lost that money now. I have contacted Depop and told them my issue and they just keep on ignoring my emails, this is outrageous because I cannot get my money now that I have earned and they’re refusing and not replying to my emails, I need that money back

Depop payment not received

I made a sale on July 11, 2023 and proceeded to mail the item. I had set up depop payments and connected my bank account. After the items delivered depop issued my payout and it was supposed to arrive in my account by the 19th. After waiting multiple weeks, I still have yet to receive the payment. I have tried contacting their support website, but they keep saying the payment was issued and there is an error with my bank, but there isn’t. The item I had sold were Doc Martens and not cheap.

Desired outcome: I would like the money I am owed.

Depop Payments for sellers

Transaction was 33 weeks ago, November 21, 2022.

I used Depop to sell an item. Sale is completed and customer has item. Customer paid via Depop Payments.

Depop will not pay out my Depop Balance without providing my state-issued ID, full social security number, and bank details, including both routing and account number.

They refuse to provide an alternative payout, despite my verified PayPal account connected to their platform. I am uncomfortable providing an insecure platform that is regularly hacked or has security compromises having everything they need for identity theft.

I would just like my $156.12 sent to me via PayPal, physical check, or a verified payment platform that is more secure with personal information.

Depop Depop Review: Unfair Treatment of Small Sellers, Timewasters, and Security Issues

Depop is a website that allows people to buy and sell items. However, my experience with this website has not been very good. I have noticed that the staff who run the website are very vindictive and they seem to target smaller sellers. Meanwhile, bigger sellers can do whatever they want without any consequences. This is not fair at all.

One of the biggest issues I have had with Depop is that they have removed every item I have listed in the past few days. I have received an email from a person named Maria saying that this is my last warning before my account is suspended. I replied to her to ask why my Valentino bra was removed, but I received a message saying that the email address is not monitored. This is very frustrating because I cannot even get an explanation for why my items are being removed.

Another issue I have had with Depop is that they do not show the description of the items that have been removed. This makes it very difficult for me to understand why my items are being removed. I was originally targeted by another seller on my first removals, but now it seems like the Depop agents are being petty towards small sellers who question them. This is very unprofessional and it makes me feel like they are just vindictive kids.

I have also noticed that the website is full of timewasters. I have had abuse from buyers in the past, but when I reported it to Depop, I was the one given a warning. They did not say anything to the other person who was abusing me. This is not fair at all.

Finally, I want to warn people to be very careful when using Depop. They managed to steal money from one of my bank accounts that was not even connected to PayPal. I had not used that account in months and it had never been connected to Depop. This is very concerning and it makes me wonder what other security issues there are on this website.

Overall, I would not recommend using Depop. The staff are very vindictive and they seem to target smaller sellers. The website is full of timewasters and there are serious security issues. I have had a very bad experience with this website and I would not use it again.

Depop Depop Discrimination: Unfair Account Closure and Targeting for No Reason

I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with Depop. They've been targeting me for no reason at all! I've explained to them countless times that I'm not drop shipping, and I even sent them proof of this. But they just won't listen to me! They keep saying that I've infringed on their terms, but I don't see how. I had permission to use a stock image from the owner, and I've never intentionally done anything wrong.

They keep saying that I have multiple infringements, but I was hacked once and I've explained this to them. They don't even give me a chance to prove that I'm not doing anything wrong. And to make matters worse, they believe a bully over me! This girl called cuddleparty was bullying me, and I reported it to Depop. But instead of acknowledging my report, they closed my account! It's clear discrimination, and it's not fair.

I won't stop fighting for my account back. I have so many orders that I need to post, and I can't do that if my account is closed. Depop made a mistake by closing my account without letting me send proof, and they admitted to it. So why can't I have my account back? It's not fair that they're penalizing me for something I didn't do.

When I try to prove to them that I'm right, they just give me an automated response like "decision is final." They don't even let me explain myself! It's frustrating and unfair. I just want my account back so I can continue selling on Depop.

Please share this review so that Depop can see how unfair they're being. I'm not going to stop fighting until I get my account back. It's not right that they're targeting me for no reason, and it's not fair that they're believing a bully over me. Depop needs to do better.

Depop Depop's Personal Attack on My Small Business: A Warning to All Sellers

I've been selling vintage clothes online and at markets for a while now. I'm a small business and rely on my income from my business. I don't use Depop much, but I have nothing but 5-star reviews. Recently, I reported a user for fraudulent listing practices. They were listing items under brand names that they weren't, and it was frustrating to wade through all the false listings to find what I wanted. Depop allows so many sellers to break the rules, and they don't seem to care.

But what happened next was shocking. I woke up to an email saying that my most popular item had been removed without any explanation. The email was so condescending, and it was clear that this was a personal attack against me. I think it was because I complained about the fraudulent listings. It's so obvious that someone on support was having a bad day and took it out on my account.

I've never had any interference like this before. All of my listings are identical, and I've never been reported for anything. It's clear that Depop doesn't care about small businesses like mine. They only care about their own interests. It's so disappointing to see this kind of behavior from an app that's supposed to be about buying and selling.

Depop Depop: A Shady Company That Will Try to Steal from You - My Experience

I had a really bad experience with Depop a while back and I wanted to update my review because this company is really shady and will try to steal from you. Last week, even though my PayPal account wasn't connected because I'm not currently selling on there, I got a notification that someone had bought an item using Depop payments. I didn't want to sign up for Depop payments because I don't trust them with my money, but they put the payment on hold and said it would be released on Tuesday. They were originally supposed to refund the buyer, but they didn't.

On Tuesday, it said the payment would be sent to my bank account the next day, so I decided to give it a try and gave them my account and sort code. They asked for my card details too, but I refused because I know it's easier for money to be stolen that way. All they needed were my account numbers to pay me.

The next day, I woke up and they hadn't sent the money. They changed the payout date to the next day. At this point, I contacted my bank and told them I was worried that Depop and their money holding company, Stripe, would try to steal from me. My bank assured me that there was no way they could take money from my account with just those details. I asked if they could set up a direct debit to take my money, but my bank said I would be safe as long as they didn't have my card details.

Later that evening, I got an email from my bank saying that a direct debit had been set up by Stripe/Depop! I cancelled and blocked the direct debit, but it's clear that Depop did try to steal from me. They also didn't send the payment for the sold item and changed the payout date to tomorrow.

Depop is a lying, fraudulent company and I'm going to report them to Trading Standards and the Ombudsman for their illegal practices. I highly recommend that you avoid this company at all costs.

Depop Depop Review: Scammers, Lack of Vintage Knowledge, and Poor Customer Service

Depop is a platform where you can buy and sell items. However, I have had some negative experiences with buyers who are scammers. They use tricks to make off with your items, such as pretending they didn't receive the items or claiming that your items are not authentic. Even if you have a tracking number and requested a signature, and you are 100% sure the item you sold is original, which you bought from official stores back in the day, PayPal and Depop will refund their money. This means they have the money and the items, which is a disgusting selling path. I have sold on eBay, Etsy, and I also have my own website, and I have never experienced such disgusting selling experiences.

Depop never stands on your side, and their customer service will never reply to you. I am curious about how they run this business. Also, Depop is totally lacking in vintage luxury items knowledge. They will keep removing your vintage items and say they are not original. This is totally unbelievable, as I have been selling vintage items all my life, and this is my main profession. I requested to talk to the so-called Depop verify expert, but they have no reply, which means they refuse it, right? Why? Because they know we are more experienced in vintage than them, and they just want to keep some face. Or maybe this is how they make off our seller's money too. They take 10% commissions for every sale, but if there are any disputes, then that 10% will not be given back to the buyer. This means the seller loses their products, money, and still needs to pay off the extra 10% commission that they took off from the seller from each sale. It's ridiculous!

As an experienced 15-year seller on the internet with an excellent reputation, if Depop doesn't improve these serious problems that I mentioned above, they will end up failing in this business and closing down. Think twice before you join them as a seller.

Depop Depop: A Disgraceful App Overrun by Scammers and Vindictive Behavior

So, I had the same experience as everyone else on here. I had a great account with great feedback, but then my account got suspended. I was confused because I had listed items that I had bought from other sellers who had active, not suspended accounts. But then they claimed that my items were used. Okay, so what kind of impression are they giving by allowing people to sell items that they then close accounts down for when they relist them? It doesn't make sense to me.

And don't even get me started on their rules in the cosmetic industry. They claim that perfume and other items are health and safety risks, but that's just false. No high-end beauty company would risk their customers' safety with perfume testers available for the public to use. These are sealed containers, so it's impossible to contaminate them.

Depop is a disgrace, and if they're an unregulated app promoting second-hand items, then they shouldn't be closing people's accounts down and keeping the extortionate fees without refunding them. They offer no customer service for the fees charged, unlike eBay. If you have a problem, they just pass you off to PayPal.

This app is absolutely disgusting and overrun by scammers and sad little girls in bedrooms who are jealous and will try to report your items to get your account shut down if you complain about an item they've scammed you for. It's too $#*!y and too backstabbing, and the awfulness of social media - trolling and vindictive behavior - is allowed on here, which results in innocent sellers getting targeted, abused, and then their accounts shut down.

Depop doesn't care, and this app should be shut down. It's not in line with any laws, and their beauty section is a mess. They take all your listings down and then close your account down, but they support scammers! Grace is rude and doesn't care. I've reported them to trading standards and am taking legal action against them. I advise everyone else to do the same. The more people who complain to trading standards and legally, the sooner this app will have to change.

Depop Depop's Lack of Basic Function and Poor Customer Service: A Review

Why is it that Depop, a supposedly popular online marketplace, lacks a basic function that is found on every other marketplace? I have been having trouble finding the Purchases link on both my laptop and Samsung Galaxy, and when I reached out to their customer service team, they asked me to troubleshoot the issue myself. Even after downloading the latest version of the app on my phone, the problem persisted. I was left wondering why this simple function is not available on Depop.

To make matters worse, I found multiple complaint links on Google going back 6-12 months, with people asking if anyone else has experienced the same issue. It seems like I am not the only one who has been struggling to find the Purchases link on Depop.

But that's not all. I also noticed that sellers on Depop feel free to cancel sales without any courtesy message to the buyer. And what's worse, buyers cannot leave a negative review for such unprofessional behavior. This means that Depop enables bad business practices, which is unacceptable.

When a company treats its customers poorly, it is only natural for them to share their negative experience with others. And that's exactly what I plan to do. I will visit 10 different sites, including several links on YouTube, to let people know that Depop's customer service is non-existent. They send generic cut-and-paste emails with instructions on how to fix your own problem, or worse, tell you to go F$#& yourself if you don't want to follow their time-wasting steps.

In my opinion, less is not more when it comes to customer service. And that's why I have decided to close my account on Depop. I would advise anyone who is considering doing business with them to think twice and cross their fingers that everything goes well. Because if it doesn't, they will be on their own.

Depop Depop Review: A Total Mess Run by Outdated Hipster [censored]s

Depop is a total mess, don't even bother. I mean, seriously, if you want to save yourself from a lot of trouble, just use Vinted or eBay instead. Depop is run by a bunch of out of date hipster [censored]s who have no idea what they're doing. They harass honest sellers with good reviews, yet seem to overlook the thousands of fake accounts set up to con people out of their money. It's ridiculous.

And don't even get me started on the way they delete items for no reason. I mean, they have a list of reasons as to why they delete items, but none of mine fell under them. So when I contacted them to point this out, apparently I need to provide receipts to prove what I was selling is mine. What a pathetic excuse. And the worst part is, they have hundreds of vintage sellers whom they promote, even though they break their "rules of selling" by using irrelevant hashtags. But instead of deleting their items, they promote them on the popular page. Talk about favoritism at its finest.

And do the vintage sellers provide receipts for their second-hand goods they're selling? I highly doubt it. It's just not fair. Don't use this app if you want to constantly be harassed by imbeciles who work at Depop, yet they still can't provide any kind of customer service. It's a complete joke.

And to make matters worse, my account has now been suspended due to supposedly being linked to another account, which it wasn't. I've gone back and forth with the "support" team, but to no avail. They won't tell me what account I was apparently linked to (because I wasn't), so then the response was I infringed their "terms of use" so my account won't be reinstated. What kind of nonsense is that?

The people that run this app all need to be fired because they are utterly awful and completely shocking. I urge anyone who has also had the same appalling treatment to contact Trading Standards and email BBC Watchdog. And please keep all email correspondence with the Depop staff as evidence too. It's time to put an end to this madness.

Depop Depop Review: Terrible Customer Service, Bugs, and Account Deletion

Don't even think about using Depop to sell your stuff. They took our $100 and then deleted our account without any warning. Sure, the app looks cool and trendy, but it's full of bugs and not worth the hassle. And don't even get me started on their customer service. You can only reach them through Twitter or email, and they never respond. And when they do, it's just an automated message that doesn't help at all. My friend and I started selling on Depop and we were doing great. We had 10k followers, 200+ sales, and good reviews in just a few months. But then Depop randomly banned our account, logged us out, and deleted our page. And we're not the only ones this has happened to. Their system is terrible because not only did we lose all our hard work, but buyers were confused too. Some even opened disputes because they thought we were scamming them and had blocked them. And now we have items that were recently purchased that we can't ship because we can't log in to print the shipping labels. And we doubt Depop will refund those people since they're not responsive. It's just a mess. First, they said we had a 48-hour suspension, but then the countdown timer kept getting longer and longer. It would say wait 9 hours, so we did, and then it said 6 more. Eventually, it said we had to reset our password, but when we tried, it said it couldn't reset the password for that email. And now we're banned forever, and it's not even clear what's happening. We put so much effort and money into this app, and it's taken it all away. And to make matters worse, they recently added a new form of payment called Depop Payments, where buyers can pay with their credit card instead of through PayPal. We allowed this setting to make more sales, and we made about 10 sales this way, but we never got the money from them. Depop said it was transferring to our bank and would take up to 10 days, but it's been months, and we still haven't received the money. We've emailed their support many times, but we've gotten nothing. Depop's customer service is a joke. We've given up on ever getting our account back. Someone needs to create a better platform.

Depop An item I sold

I sold an item 5 weeks ago.

The item was delayed in been delivered and the buyer filed a report that the item was not received. She then messaged me to inform me she had recieved the item and thanked me for the free lip balm for the delay. She is now after much communication refusing to pay me. Saying she doesn't know how to do so. Its 28 euro I am awaiting. It doesn't sound like alot but it is the principle. I have contacted depop viamy account many times with no avail. How do I get my payment? Have sold many products and never had an issue before. Very annoyed about this.

Depop Depop withholding my payout

I sold a top on April 2nd, & made a trade on April 3rd (and agreed a price with the person I was exchanging with, so I paid them and they paid me). Both of these payments added up in my depop balance to around £60 and the funds were ‘available’ shortly after and originally due to be paid to me on April 5th.

This payment date was pushed forward, and initially I thought nothing of it as I know there’s often a 5 day processing time for funds. However, I sent both buyers their items on Tuesday 4th, and received a 5 star review from the first buyer around a week after. I also made a couple of smaller sales of around £10-15 since the original sales.

Then, once a week had passed and Depop was still withholding my balance, I contacted customer support. I got 2 vague emails, 1 claiming I had a negative balance from a refund (I have not issued any refunds recently) & 1 claiming I had ‘insufficient funds’ and it was a ‘bank issue’. These responses seemed to have been copied and pasted with a tiny bit of modification (I.e. a telltale sign was the latter email containing the phrase ‘due to your bank account had insufficient funds’). I contacted my bank on Monday 17th April and they let me know that there had been no attempt for depop to pay anything in, and they can not decline an incoming payment due to a bank account having ‘insufficient funds’.

It is now Tuesday 18th April, and my total payout of £86 (from everything I have sold this month) has been pushed forward to Wednesday 19th April. Depop are now ignoring my emails. This is 2 weeks from when I was initially supposed to receive £60. I have had positive reviews from everyone I sold items to. I am at a loss as to what to do because depop are refusing to resolve this - I never want to use depop again and am beginning to think I’m never going to receive this payout.

Another frustrating thing is that around £12 of the money I am due is from postage I paid out of pocket, and £30 is from the trade where I essentially swapped the same amount with the buyer on top of the item trade. In other words, only half of the money being withheld is a profit - the rest is just money I paid out of pocket.

Desired outcome: To actually receive the total payout that I am due, rather than it getting pushed forward continually for 2 weeks and held onto by depop for no clear or valid reason.

Depop Banned, defamed and denied funds that are mine.

Within two minutes on December 30, 2022, Depop deleted an item I had listed, banned me and marked me as a threat to their community without a warning or allowing me to help rectify the situation, per their policy. They have ceased all communication with me and are refusing to “process or fulfill any further payouts to my account” made from my last sale on the platform, which has since been delivered. Prior to, I had an active account with a good reputation and reviews. I have every bit of evidence to prove my case as I plan to obtain the fund’s rightfully owed to me. If you use or sell on this app, I would get away before they are finally shut down or before they do something similar to you.

Desired outcome: I would appreciate those “overseeing” this “business” to call it what it is, which is a major scam. Defamation aside, I want my funds released to me.

Depop Trainers

I already put in a complaint and it was denied. The seller specifically said that the trainers I am buying are real Jordans however they are not they are counterfeit. I have other pairs at home and they are nothing alike. The real Jordan ones have the sizing chart on the tongue of the shoe these do not. I will attach a photo. Secondly the real Jordan ones have ‘Nike air’written on the inside of the shoe in red as you can see the ones I bought do you not. Under the buyer protection I should be covered as it specifically says that if I buy counterfeit item that was described as Real I am eligible for a refund or a tan so I do not know why am I am not it is unfair, my username is kesi_xo and his is Joelhunter457
