Transmission Failure (3 year warranty)
Well I guess 3 year unlimited mile warranty does not mean anything to this so called place of business. Just because you stop selling a part does not mean you stop honoring the warranty that came with that part. The biggest reason for buying the 1,300 dollar transmission is because of the 3 year warranty that was sold with the transmission. I contacted the so called customer service department was on hold for close to an hour, just to wait for someone that I couldn't even understand to get on the phone and tell me that they no longer sold transmissions and they were sorry then hung up? I'm boiling by this time, so I called back and got another clown on the phone that told me the same thing and then told me he would have his manager call me asap. I recieved a call 2 hours later but it wasn't the manager of sales, no it was the shift supervisor that had only been with the company for 6 months and didn't even know his managers last name? Well here it is almost a week later and still have not recieved a call back from anyone that can actually wipe their own [censored] at this so called professional business, so it looks like they are getting my old transmission to rebuild and sell, my 1,300.00 (+ 3 year warranty) and all I get is a broke down truck that I have to go and get another transmission for and be out another 1,800.00, that's right this one is going to cost 500.00 more. I guess they think money just falls from the skies where I live, no this is going to impact my family for the next few months while they are still selling crapy parts and eating good. EVERYONE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE CLOWNS THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS...
Recommendation: Stay away....
Poor customer support on defective part sold
I purchased a Rack and Pinion for my truck and installed it and found out it was defective. Called them and was instructed to send it back for either a replacement or credit. I told them the part was installed and i needed a replacement to remove and replace it to send it back. I was told I had to purchase another in order to get it and it would take a week to get it. I paid for it and asked to have it shipped 2 day and it was agreed. After not receiving it on the 3rd day, I called and they had no record of it being shipped although the part was charged from my account. I called and cancelled the replacement when told it was never shipped. I purchased another one from ANOTHER SELLER aan installed it and sent the defective one back. After 2 weeks, I received credit for the defective part, but still had not received the replacement credit. I asked for reimbursement for the double labor I had to pay due to the part being defective and installed twice. I was told "WE DONT DO THAT". poor customer service for a defective part sold.
Recommendation: DONT DEPEND ON SUPPORT FOR DEFECTIVE PART SOLD
I ordered two CV Axles for a 2009 Honda Civic Driver and Passenger
I ordered two CV Axles for a 2009 Honda Civic Driver and Passenger. As I installed the Passenger side CV axle I had noticed there was a bulky part on the CV axle rubbing up next to the chassis. I uninstalled the CV axle dissapointed and frustrated and lined up with original CV axle and sure enough it was the wrong part. I took photos prior to taking the CV axle out so I could show Detroit Axle they sent the wrong part. The manager said they sent the right CV axle even though it was evident that in the photos the part was wrong and rubbing and yet they were still in deniable. I paid $47 each for both axles. I had to go to Auto Zone and I spent $97 for the correct one. I will not be buying from them again and I wouldn't recommend getting CV Axles for 06-11 Honda Civics. If you do, line both CV Axles new and old up for the length, etc before you install which I did and yet it was wrong.

I have previously purchased fro Detroit axel in past with great experience ...This time however my order came in different pkgs and the main one did not come at all ... I spoke to their cust svc and alll was made OK especially *** who was very professional ... All the others too but I cannot recall their names ...All was made OK thanks to them and credit was issued which I assume will be in next few days ... all in all I am Ok with them and if necessary I will probably purchase again... thanks to cust svc team
I get quality parts and service from Detroit Axle. Their shipping is very timely. And their problem resolution is customer pleasing. Their order personel are pleasant to work with.Prices are fantastic, makes owning and maintaining a vehicle affordable. Thanks for being here for us. I don't know what else to say, nothing but positive experience from this business. Recommend to all I talk to about auto parts.
He was very helpful. I had no problems putting my order in.
Great service and really fast shipping. I will be ordering all of my brake parts from them.
lousy after-sales service, misleading offers, and then they wash their hands and get rid of liability
lousy after-sales service, misleading offers, and then they wash their hands and get rid of liability. I bought a transmission and was offered a 3 year warranty. Over the months, the transmission began to leak oil and I called to use the warranty and they told me that I had no warranty because I did not return the transmission core, something that never in the telephone purchase I was told I should do. then as they were going to pass the case to a supervisor and I never got a call back. I called again and they told me that they would send me the packaging to solve the oil can and that they would call me for the warranty I explained that my address had changed and I would send the new one by mail and they still sent me the packaging to the wrong address. After a lot of annoyance, they simply told me that for not returning the core I no longer had a guarantee. in short, total ineptitude and lack of professionalism
was excellent in assisting my husbands needs as he spoke in Spanish. It made everything so much easier. His customer service was excellent in all Questions we had.
K*** was helpful with the cancellation and refund. Thank you.
Parts arrived on time. Had two front brake pads missing, contacted customer service and spoke to *** who was very helpful and was able to ship a complete ser of pads to make me whole again and sent me a 10 coupon for my next purchase. Spot on Detroit Axle. This is my second complete brake kit I have purchased and will continue to buy from you. Quality parts, awesome price and customer service.
Quality product, good price, good support. Would rate 5 stars if one of the brake kits I ordered had all the correct parts. Support was there to correct the issue quickly.
I ordered a 2010 s80 volvo power steering rack and pinion
I ordered a 2010 S80 Volvo Power Steering Rack and Pinion. At first I ordered thru eBay but Detroit Axle never shipped it. I cancelled the order & left a negative feedback then they contacted me to purchase & resend another Rack if I remove the negative feedback. After receiving & installing it, the steering was extremely tight and very difficult to turn. Almost like having no power steering but more difficult. The shaft angle is wrong also and I believe they sent a 2006 S80 Rack instead of [protected]. It is a lot of work to replace the rack and pinion because the subframe has to be lowered. This has cost me a lot of time & money including the loss if use of my vehicle. I believe the rack wasn't rebuilt correctly & was not tested before leaving Detroit Axle. This is the 2nd time I'm having to leave a negative feedback for the same item issue except it's critical to Safety this time! I've sent emails & called without any reply or answer.
Great parts with great warranty Always a perfect fit at a great price
Very professional very friendly and the prices are great looking after a better place on top of it lifetime warranty
Has good prices and quality parts! I have already bought several parts for my cars I have not had any problems.
is very helpful and polite. They resolved my issue in a timely manner. I wil be using Detroit Axle again.

Let's start with spectacular customer service on the part of "Holly " who checked and double checked on the veracity of part numbers for my dear "Nora." Nora is a a 1990 Honda Accord with 68k that more or less fell into my lap when the short block on an older Benz gave up the ghost. The coil over struts and shocks for the rear were packed perfectly and the cartons reinforced with that yellow binding material that prevents any shift in the crtns. and preventing holes under the sixty pound load.. Parts themselves were pristine via whatever coatings and a breeze to install once I figured out how to remove the rear seat.. The ensuing test runs were a marvelous departure from the dated bulging springs etc. and a great first step on the reclamation process.. Wouldn't' hesitate an instant to recommend Detroit Axle for auto parts needs and in fact preparing a second build sheet as funds permit.. Now I have to hope I can find Holly again too...:-)
Waisted my money with them. They sent a defective part. And will not honor the warranty. Not asking for my money back just the part that works.
Personnel was very helpful. Has good prices and quality parts.
was very helpful and extremely pleasant. Will continue to use this company and would recommend them to anyone
has outstanding customer service skills, will definitely be doing business with them again
HOLY SMOKES !
HOLY SMOKES ! Got a new customer ! I've been a mechanic for over 30 years, found you guys online.. Very well priced ! What's even more shocking, I ordered the parts approx. 1 pm on Tuesday, thinking I'll probably get it around Saturday or Monday, which is fine, but received an email and said, ready for ship by that Tuesday night. Now it's Thursday, got home by 4 pm, and there was the parts laying on my porch in a very nice box, opened it, sure enough the parts was at my house within 2 days ! Very fast process.. Very well priced ! I'll be installing parts on my Explorer soon, may not be able to give my opinion about how well the parts are, but visually what I can see now, looks like it was made right ! Also, did not find " Made in China" anywhere on it, actually looks like it was made here in the U.S. ! and to make it more interesting, 10 year warranty ? What ? That alone works for me, especially for a hub/bearing ! They'll be hearing from me again ! Thanks to the Detroit Axle team !
Ordered a "new" rack and pinion to Canada
Ordered a "new" rack and pinion to Canada. Paid for shipping. Was told that there would be a return shipping label in package for my core to have warranty activation. A remanned rack and pinion showed up with bushings that were falling apart, rust that was freshly painted over (came off on my hands), and no return shipping label. I called to ask about sending it back to have a new one sent out as this one was not as ordered. Was informed that I would need to pay the shipping back to them, then pay the shipping of the new product, which they would not confirm would be new or remanned, then pay the shipping back the core sample which I was told would be free. The supervisor told me that sometimes they send new, sometimes they send remained, and when they send remained the bushings aren't included in the rebuild, andnsometimes they send a return shipping label, and sometimes they don't. None of that was listed on their web page, and none of that was mentioned during my 30 min phone call while ordering the product.
have been hosed by this company
have been hosed by this company. I run a shop in wichita ks. Ordered some lower ball joints ( in stock, even said they shipped) two weeks went by Nothing. Called and emailed. No response until I called amazon and complained. Then they got back with me via email mail arms said they dismissed have any to ship (wtf) so I worked with Amazon to order a more expensive kit from them with upper mall joints included (cause it was also "in stock") after two days (even said it shipped) they sent me an email saying they could not fill that order either. They wasted two weeks of me and my customers time. I called and they caught an attitude with me. I'm sure I'll get some kind of automated response fake as the day is long but you guys need to get it together, that is not how you treat customers. Not only will I never purchase from you again, but everyone I meet will know what you stand for as well as you seem not to care anyway, I hope this reaches someone who will make changes. A buddy's dad had told me about them and after reading some of the reviews i was a little sceptical but he assured me that they were legit so i ordered what i needed and got it 2/3 days later. This past weekend i was looking at the stuff i had ordered to make sure it was all the right stuff and found out i did not get the 2nd wheel hub assembly that i had ordered and after reading all the reviews thought i was gonna have to buy another one. I called their customer service line and honestly could have been more surprised, i was on hold for maybe 10 minuets that was it. They asked me why i was calling and i told them about what was going on and the guy got another hub assembly ordered on the spot and its on its way to my house right now. Don't believe all these reviews because most of the time people only come to write reviews when something is wrong not when things actually work out for the buyer/person involved. 4/5 just for having to call to get the other part shipped again but definitely will be returning to them in the future.
I ordered Detroits 14pc suspension kit on Amazon with a 4plus star rating
I ordered Detroits 14pc suspension kit on Amazon with a 4plus star rating. The product was delivered on time. 4 days later I take my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee to my mechanic and he tells me he will not put these parts on due to my safety because of the poorly built parts and Detroit Axless reputation. I want to to send them right back for a refund and I will but the are not going to pay back what I paid in tax, charge me 60 dollars for shipping and a 15% restock fee. Why would a company do this who stands behind there product? Im sending it back regardless. However, after I got home, I was really saddened that I had purchased less than quality parts that could have put my life in danger only to read reviews of people who had the same parts have them break and cause serious crashes and injuries. Complaintsboard.com, they should not be allowed to sell cheap parts that could cause death or bodily harm as even my mechanic said I would be jeopardizing my life if I had another mechanic install these parts, because he wouldnt if I paid him 10 times over. Very saddened by their return policy.

I ordered a transmission on October 14th
I ordered a transmission on October 14th. I received the transmission on October 19th. My technician installed the transmission on the 20th and the transmission had an internal leak. I had him contact Detroit Axle to see what we needed to do. He was on hold for 55 minutes and then was told someone would contact him from the transmission department would contact him in a couple hours. I called them back the following morning after no contact. I was on hold for 1 hour and then the got cut off. I called back and was on hold for another hour and then told the same thing, that someone would call back in a few hours. I then filled out the request form online to start another line of communication. It is October 28th and after multiple attempts to contact them I have given up. I now have to contest the charge and purchase another transmission asap to take care of my customer who has been waiting for 2 weeks now. This company must be some sort of scam. And if they are a legit company, it is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever seen in my life. BUYER BEWARE!
I would have given them zero stars if I could have
I would have given them zero stars if I could have. I bought parts a few years ago that had went bad to the point it damaged my car and had to get it towed and get it fixed. Called the company to have them replace the parts because it had a 10 year warranty and they argued that it didn't have a warranty when I screenshoted exactly where in my invoice that said I have that 10 year warranty. After trying to reach a manager for over a week and waiting for that manager to call back, we tried to get another one and they argued that that one was the only manager they had on site but apparently everytime we called during business hours he was never there or was in a business meeting. Finally we were fed up and had the supervisor help us try to get new parts, they wanted me to buy the new ones, send the old ones back with me paying shipping when it was free shipping to come to me, so they could inspect the parts even though I had paperwork from a mechanic shop saying that it was bad. They didn't want to believe that because they wanted their certified people to look at it. Well amechanic is certified. Overall worse customer service and their parts didn't last long. Never ever use this business.
Whatever you do, DO NOT order product from this place, especially from Amazon
Whatever you do, DO NOT order product from this place, especially from Amazon. They had days to ship my order and notify me of any issues about my brake kit. Instead, they pretended like everything was fine and told Amazon that my product shipped and would arrive on time. I got this mailer yesterday from DetroitAxle. An IOU and a 10% coupon in a NEXT DAY AIR SHIPMENT instead of my product that they told myself and Amazon that they shipped and delivered. I never had a company lie to me like this before and it is truly disturbing. I got an email this morning from DetroitAxle stating that my product has shipped and that I have to "email back later for a tracking number." #$%$#@ SERIOUSLY? I sent a followup email asking how is it possible you have shipped my product and NOT have a tracking number? You have to ship a product TO GET A TRACKING NUMBER in the first place. The lack of customer service is appalling, like jaw dropping appalling. How on earth does DetroitAxle think it is acceptable to put a "We're sorry" note and a lousy 10% off coupon inside my shipment instead of my product, and NEXT DAY AIR IT? Don't you guys have email? Asking me to email back for a tracking number, only get to get a response that "ooops your item didn't ship again" message? This has nothing to do with COVID-19. This has everything to do with bad business practices and deceit.
Initially our business had placed an order on April 9
Initially our business had placed an order on April 9. At the time of ordering we were told the part was in stock and needed to be tested before shipping. The sales rep on the phone stated that the part would ship no later than Tuesday April 13 and would arrive by that Friday, April 16th. When tracking was received it kept saying "label created, check back tomorrow for shipping". After waiting till the 16th to see if it arrived, I called them and the rep stated that they never actually had the part to begin with but have the part and are testing it then would ship it. When the part arrived, it was non-functional. The wires were torn and it was very obvious they had not remanufactured anything but had just spray painted the rack and pinion silver. After spending hours on the phone, they told me that they would offer me the following "Put down 75% towards a new one and they will send out the part & refund me when I send the old part back". We finally came to an agreement that we would pay a $100 deposit and they would send a new one (that was confirmed IN STOCK) overnighted. They did not send it overnight. They sent it over 5 days later. Between the tech and I we called every day to try to get a solution but all we got was sympathy from the sales reps and nothing from the supervisors. Don't buy from this company unless you have lots of extra time and money to spend.

If I could give a ZERO-rated review, I would
If I could give a ZERO-rated review, I would. I purchased a transmission from this company and my mechanic was unable to put it in right away, being that he was backed up due to COVID. Being that I went past the days warranted to have a warranty on the transmission, there's just nothing they can do. My mechanic tried to warn me about this company. They did the same thing to another one of his customers (same year van as mine) and they gave him a hard time about the faulty transmission they sent. Do NOT purchase a Rebuilt 62TE Transmission (for 2015 Dodge van or Chrysler) from this company or you will be sorry. Two transmissions in a row (2 separate customers) have been faulty. They are NOT willing to work with me at all. It's still a new transmission just installed on 9/17, but obviously, this company only rebuilds crap. Even if you do get a transmission installed within their window of time and the core is sent back to them, you will still be left with a transmission that doesn't work (only goes in reverse after lines were flushed and properly programmed). You will also be left with a mechanic that's upset because he's going to have to do the work again, even if they do send you a new one, and then it sounds as though you are still lucky that you receive a working transmission. If not, your mechanic is left to installing multiple faulty transmissions (ALL OUT OF YOUR POCKETBOOK).

My name is Aleaf Roundtree and I have had the worst experience dealing with Detroit Axle
My name is Aleaf Roundtree and I have had the worst experience dealing with Detroit Axle. I purchase a transmission from them and I have not been able to rely on my own vehicle ever since it was shipped. They sent the wrong transmission that looks the same. Then reimburse me with less than ther mistakes cost me. After they try to fix this mistake by sending me a transmission that works it really doesn't. I have transmission fluid all over my drive way that's going to cost me because there transmission is leaking. They have me back in forth trying to get pictures of the leak and I'm disabled, so I have to rely on others to take the pictures and I explained this to them. I have not been able to operate my vehicle for two weeks now waiting on their decision. They have no direct way of communication with their supervisor or technicians. Which means I have to wait longer. When they finally decided to ship my parts both times because of their mistakes. Shipping goes wrong as well. I was just told that the truck didn't come yesterday and it might come today but if not we will make you wait longer basically. The method your company uses are ridiculous and leave the customer stranded or with expenses that don't get reimburse. Yes yall partially reimburse me for labor. But what about all the unnecessary money i Spent due to your company mistakes. I'm writing this complaint because today was the last draw. There is no common courtesy in making me wait on something that I paid for and now work for. I'm left stranded with no vehicle for over 2 months and expenses that I was told can't be reimbursed. Can someone please help

I HAD A HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE WITH THESE PEOPLE
I HAD A HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE WITH THESE PEOPLE. So I purchased these brakes in July on amazon. Within less than a year, my brake pads were worn out so I requested a warrant replacement as they had a 10 year warranty replacement on amazon and on their website. on November 8th I called to request the replacement and i told them I would have to call them back to make the payment. I called on November 11 to make my payment of $90 for shipping for a full new kit and was then told I needed an Invoice from a certified mechanic stating all 4 rotors and pads were no good.. So on November 15th I emailed the receipt to customer service and called as well to confirm they received the invoice, in which I was told they did and received an Email back stating to call to make my shipping payment. They happily took my money on November 15th but I was never given a confirmation number or even a tracking number for shipping. I waited over 10 days for the emails and I didn't receive any. I called today on November 26th to ask why I was not given any receipt for payment or confirmation as it reflected on my bank statement that they took the money on November 15th. After being put on hold and spoken to with confusion, I was told their warranty policy changed 10 days ago and they could not send me a replacement now. I made the request well over " 10 days ago" and purchased the item over a year ago. This is very wrong to not honor a warranty policy that was in place at time of purchase. This was a waste of time and it seems I am not the only one making the very same claims. BUYER BEWARE DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE

After completing a purchase at Detroitaxle, my feelings about positive character traits are no longer as straightforward as I learned from my parents. But the fact that my knowledge from many years of study at a university is contrary to the accounting process of this company, that is new to me. Absurd and not honest. How to increase sales through a great clerk like Mr. Ivan P., the following process should serve: Increasing a company's sales is easy thanks to a great clerk like Ivan M. The following process happened to me: On October 26th I placed an order: Order # 609543 for a complete set of struts for my Chrysler Convertible, goods value 392.83 USD. Of course, I wanted to use an "axle" voucher that was evident in the advertisement. After all, $ 39 is very, very much money. (for people who have to calculate!) The code did not work. Not even after 14 emails and many phone calls. Oh yes, phone calls, the working hours of this company are different, coffee and lunch breaks are always present. :-) After this "back and forth" I was offered the 10% discount on another order. I tried, with my remaining gray brain cells, to complete another order for brake disks worth $ 62.90. With the promised 10% subtracted from this amount, 23.90 USD remained. What can I say? Logically, this couldn't work. After all, this company can do math and to be honest, I was terrified that it would not end well for the contents of my wallet. Nevertheless, I wish this company all the best. There are still many highly intelligent people who need spare parts. Postscript: my order was delivered very quickly from Mexico to me in Buda, TX. Thank god through FedEx :-)
I placed an order, through Amazon, for brakes and pads provided by Detroit Axle
I placed an order, through Amazon, for brakes and pads provided by Detroit Axle. I received the packages (2 in total) and they arrived on time and undamaged. In the mean time I was told that the original diagnosis for my problem was not the rotors and pads and therefore unnecessary. I placed a request for return through Amazon and received a single return UPS label for 119 pounds. I went to UPS and was told I needed two labels for the return, one for each box. I called Amazon, again, and they eventually sent a second label, this time for 40 pounds. When I went to UPS for the second time I was told that the weights didn't correspond to the packages and therefore were invalid. By this time I was frustrated and called the customer service line for Detroit Axle and asked if there was any way I could resolved this issue by returning the parts "in person" as the warehouse was only 92 miles south of my home. On Monday June 14th my wife and I made the trip to the warehouse and hand delivered both packages to a young lady at the service desk, who did not offer a receipt but said since I had all the paperwork that my return would be processed in a reasonable amount of time. It is now July 8th and I still have received nothing but frustration. I am pursuing my quest for compensation through both Detroit Axle and Amazon, in hindsight perhaps I should have videoed the entire process but I'm not that much of a cynic that I would require such proof, live and learn I guess. I will give both Detroit Axle and Amazon one more chance to make good on this return before my next course of action and perhaps I'll be able to upgrade the One Star to Five Stars; we'll see.

Defective transmission
I purchased a transmission from Detroit Axle for $1669.50 on August 17, 2021 that came with a lifetime warranty. Subsequently the transmission has failed as i no longer have 1st or 4th gears. I contacted Detroit Axle to file a claim in November 2023 and I was told that Detroit Axle no longer has a transmission department so there is nothing they can do for me. I received no compensation in any form.Yet, on their website as of the time I am writing this, they are still selling transmission with 3 year warrantys.
Claimed loss: $1,669.50
Desired outcome: Replacement part or full refund

Rack and pinion
purchased rack and pinion from Detroit Axle 9/19/22, Advertised as lifetime warranty. The rack failed already and is blowing fluid out of top of gear box. Called for warranty and I provided my invoice number. they then wanted me tracking number for the return part. I have to believe if you don't have this information they will not honor warranty. When I did provide info the then said I would have to pay 75% of the part until they got return. This is crazy that I would have to pay for the part a second time and trust them to receive the part back and credit an account. I explained to them if I give you a credit card the billing cycle will still have me paying on the card. If you credit it that does not alter me having to pay. It is crooked and deceptive. Part should be sent and I will return defective part just like I had to return core to get warranty that really isn't a warranty. I should have went on the Internet and saw they only get 1 1/2 stars fro rating. I learned a valuable lesson.
Desired outcome: There can be no beneficial outcome because I have to repair the vehicle now. They should have to refund my money on original order but I need the core to buy another part. It is a lose lose situation for me.
