I tried to order a pair of pine screen doors that were a regularly stocked item. Everything went fine until they were a month late arriving. When they finally got here, they were both damaged. The delivery driver did all the return paperwork and called DK Hardware to confirm the return. It took another month for DK Hardware to process the return, but ONLY AFTER numerous attempts to call them and figure out why nothing was being done about my order. For about 3 weeks in a row they continuously told me that they were actively doing something the particular days I called and I should be expecting an email and a phone call with an update. They always use an excuse such as their supervisor is not in, we'll have to return your call or email you with an update blah blah blah. Literally every time I've called for the past 4 months, it was like a brand new customer calling in with a brand new complaint but only it was the exact same complaint every single time. It's like they completely ignored me whenever they hung up the phone and didn't write anything down at all for what to do as far as following up on this order. Weeks later, after they finally sent out the order again it took another month to arrive at my house. When the driver brought it I looked at the doors only to realize that whoever supposedly repackaged the doors with a couple pieces of Saran wrap only just turn the doors around to face each other to hide the big gouge that was all the way down one of the doors. It literally looked like the exact same door they sent me the first time and they were trying to hide the fact that it was damaged by turning it around and facing it against the other door hoping that I will accept the damaged package and be stuck with it. Once again I refuse that package, the driver did his due diligence, I had to contact the company myself because they never got in touch with me. I asked them where my third shipment of doors are, he said he was still waiting for the returns. Which by this time there had been plenty of time to ship those doors back. So I said forget it and just refund me. Couple days went by I still didn't see any refund to my debit account so I called them back and they told me the third set was already in route to my house. Considering I had them cancel the order and refund me why would they be sending me a third set? They were originally supposed to refund my debit card they had about 2 or 3 weeks give or take to do that. That did not happen and that time frame. My card got compromised and I had to get a different card. When I told them about that, they continue to try to refund it to that same compromised card. After it finally clicked to them and they realized that they can't refund a card that has been canceled they offered a check. I took them up on that offer. I gave him my address where to send it and they said they would get me a tracking number whenever they mailed it. I called back a week later asking where my tracking number was. It was the same story again and they were trying to refund my debit card that was canceled. So once again I had to explain the situation to them. The next day I got an email which is the first email that I've actually received from these people considering they told me that they were going to email me about 7/8 other times prior to this point... In the email they asked if I would like to receive a refund via PayPal. I declined and told them to send me my check with the tracking number that they agreed to. There was no response to that, so I called the next business day and he told me the check was already in the mail with no tracking number. I have yet to hear from them and now my refund check is late.
DK Hardware has extremely poor customer service. They failed to do their job at every aspect. The shipping department lacks the necessary items to ship a package properly to avoid damage even though you are paying for said packaging and shipping said item. The customer service representatives lack the knowledge required to do their job and constantly have to consult their supervisor, who supposedly is never in the office so the representative has to constantly say that they will return a phone call or an email with an update... They lack communication skills as far as actually returning a phone call or an email.
I had to call DKHardware this morning, asking them to resend the check they sent me because they made it out to the wrong person. Instead of making the payment out to the person who originally paid them via debit card... ME..., they made the payment out to the company I work for which was the SEND TO address. Why would they even get that information mixed up...
