Dollar General

DG on Clairton Blvd. in Brentwood, Pittsburgh, PA There is only one check out and it is self-serve. There are no registers manned by personnel. This is absolutely ridiculous. People often get frustrated and take their rage out on the one salesperson who is in the store. This appears to be a corporate decision to make money at the cost of service. This greed will get someone hurt or killed when the wrong person gets angry. I'd like to know how you came to this decision. Is it due to a total lack of a moral compass or just blatant greed? I'd also like to know if you have a solution or will just file this in the corporate computer trash can? Connie Horhut

When shopping in DG today. Long story short. The manager of the DG store in Osage, Iowa treated his employee very poorly in front of many customers. He was yelling at her. It was unacceptable! I for one will not be shopping in this store again. This store has gone downhill and is heading further south quickly. there is nothing on the shelves and no one stocking the shelves.

I think this manger should be written up if not fired! I am in management myself and have learned that you never treat anyone this way.

Purchased what I thought was a gift card turned out to be a reloadable gift card which is fine, however the funds I purchased did not load to card. Called NetSpend the card company and they told me to call the store. Called the Dollar General in DeKalb, IL, the employee was very friendly and told me she would pass message on to the store manager. Stopped in the store the next day and the employee there said the manager was not there so she called her. The store manager, who never gave me her name, told me it was not Dollar Generals problem after the purchase is made. Tried to go on Dollar General's website and did a chat they wanted me to talk to an online lawyer for $65. My gift card purchase was $50, so they want me to pay $65 to get my $50 back? That is crazy! Now I can't get anyone at the chat to answer me. I have been dealing with this since April 1st.

I live on Huckleberry Rd which is adjacent to D G. Residents have started dumping garbage on Huckleberry Rd side of DG. Also people are using this area as a back door to the DG Store. There needs to be a clean up and wooden fence put on our side of the DG Store. No one on our road or the Dale Keys Rd where the parking lot is located wanted a DG Store. This property is an eyesore and I am requesting an official from corporate headquarters to meet me so I can discuss this problem. I was injured in a fall at your store in Orange Beach Alabama (store number16294) and I have not received a response since filling out the incident report. I fell on an uneven sidewalk at the unmarked curb. The store manager was very understanding. I was terminated as assistant store manager for selling alcohol and tobacco to a minor. I've been to court and the judges verdict is to pay $100 to the states attorneys office and do 15 hours Community service. After this is completed, this will be over and not on my record. I contacted my DM, Alex, and told him what happened in court and asked for my job back. He keeps telling me it's a violation. I contacted Regional Manager, Jeff, told him what happened, he sees no problem with me getting my job back. I told Alex what Jeff said and he still won't give me my job back. DM Jackie, for the past year has been telling my store manager to get rid of me. I don't know why. I haven't done anything to her. So I figure she's the one that made me unhireable and actually tells Alex not to hire me back.Jackie is DM over in Jacksonville now.

I am disabled widow I shop at my dollar general every week. Now I am diabetic so I depend on zero sugar dr pepper. I live accross the street and I check the web site before I go! the web site said there were 20 cases at the store! was not any there.. The girl said it was over her head she could not help me! I had a coupon for the dr pepper 3/13 that was also on the web site.. DG Market on Joe Batt Road Vancleave MS. I stopped to pick up my husband beer. The sign on a display said a 12 pk of Miller Lite was $9.95. I went to the cooler looking for a case. None in store. However, there were 2 12 pks. label stated $9.95. I go to the register she scan & tells me it’s $28.++. I was stunned & told her the display said $9.95, & led the way for her to see the sign. Lo & behold the manager was called out said something about it being a vendor special. I said, what does that mean to me. I would have to pay the $28.++ as they can’t override or change the price. Horse hockey! I said you better go take the sign down & left. This is what DG doing thinking people won’t notice? How is this right?

I stopped by the Center Barnstead, New Hampshire store today to buy Lays potato chips. The regular price or at least the price on the paper tag was 2 for $6. Stuck to the shelf was a sticky tag which said the sales price was 2 for $7. I brought it to the male sales clerk of the price discrepancy to which his reply was he could charge the higher price because they didn't set the prices, corporate did. I will file a complaint with the state also.

On the date of February on or about the 13 or 14 their was an altercation that had happened between one of your employees he was pulled out of the store with a shopping cart and proceed to fight the other customers who where trying to leave the store and was asked to see video taping and the video mastery's got errassed and the police was called and when asked for video they could not find the video so I asked for a manager who was the only one on duty was hurt and that's when I found out they were living to me about the tape and he stayed he was on meth and was very roude and told me go find t dog food myself and sent me to the back of the store and told me to find the stairs which their is no stairs their.

I'm a disabled VET, either before or after my appointment I always stop in and get what I need, very convenient. Your store is less than a half a mile to the VA clinic. I go in get get what I need and leave. Most recently, I go in and the person at the register tells me that I can not come into the store with my bag, she says I have to leave it with her. No, I will not leave my bag with her. I ask her are you going to be responsible for my bag, she says no. She is not responsible for my bag. And she continues to say if I don't leave my bag with her, she will have to call the police to give me a no trespass. Now, this whole time other people are coming in with bigger bags then mine. I do not have to explain to her, why I have that bag, it's none of her business. All of this over a bottle of pine sol and some candy. I'm not a thief and don't like being treated like one.

There are several things I can do, go back to the VA clinic, file a complaint with them and ask them to let other veterans know about this store.

I noticed last weekend cars coming and going Sunday & Monday spoke to A couple of people and they were very upset about not being open.
It appears they are having trouble finding someone that wants to work
But they are losing A lot of money
There is A dollar Tree just up the block and that is where we all go if D G is not open
