DSW worst ordering experience

Worst ordering experience. I placed a shoe order on 10/5/11. No update to the order till 10/11/11. Called customer service on 10/11/11 and was told, the item "may" have shipped, but, status not updated in their accounts and advised to wait till 10/24/11 for shipment to arrive. Checked status on 10/20/11 and see that the order has been cancelled on 10/13/11 without any email notification for reason of cancellation. I was not charged for the order though.

The item I had ordered showed available to order again on 10/20/11. Placed a new order and as of now (10/25/11) looks I will be going through the same again :-)

Called customer service on 10/25/11 who had no clue what was going on with the orders. Waiting for some answers...

Stay away from DSW until they fix their issues. They only partly honor their coupons and rewards certificates, and then they'll charge your cc whatever they like. If you have to make a return, forget about getting some of your money back. They refuse to give you a full refund even though you paid full price for a pair of shoes because you used a coupon or rewards certificate. They do a BS thing of dividing the certificate among each shoe instead of the entire order. If you return any part of your order, expect to lose that money unless you buy something else. They lure you in with their rewards certificate for accumulating 1500 points, and then screw you over if you end up not liking/fitting a pair of shoes that you ordered online and have to return it.

I have spent three months tracking down my own money from returns. Somehow the transaction also gets "lost" or "mishandled". I have tried three times and I can successfully say that I am completely done with DSW...they never even said apologized! Goodbye DSW hello Off Broadway.

DSW fraudulent business practices

On the website they say that you can return shoes at the store to save on the return shipping but when you get to the store they tell you that you have to ship it back because "they cant balance it". They had already marked the packing slip as "returned" so i hope that they will accept the return shipment. I had to go back and request that the manager mark it as not returned with a store stamp(so that it shouldnt look like i marked it myself) and she very ungraciously marked it not returned but said that there was no store stamp to stamp it with. So now I am out the original shipping, the return shipping, the hour & 1/2 it took me to go to the store and try to return the shoes, and the parking lot fee and they probably will not refund the remaining money because they will say that the shoes were returned already.

DSW ripoff store

In 2006, I bought a pair of Rocket Dog shoes that fell apart after one week of wearing them. When I went to the store to return them with the receipt, the manager, Mr. Bergeron, said he would not take them back because they were not in the shoebox and were worn. I paid forty dollars for them, and it's too bad they wouldn't refund me my money on the shoes, because I did not shop there after that, until a week ago, when a friend gave me a 10.00 coupon.
I went to the register with the coupon, and I was buying an item that was on clearance with it.
Instead of the saleslady taking the percentage off first on the item, she had to scan the coupon first, making the total percentage off less than it would be if she had scanned the item first, than given me the 10.00 off. Actually, she tried to forget all together to give me the percentage off, and my total came to way too much for 50% off, like she didn't know what the heck she was doing, so I took the coupon back and now know, even after 3 years of not being in this store, they still are a rip-off.

DSW price adjustment

I purchased a pair of shoes from the DSW website on 6/25/09 for $95. I received the shoes on 7/3/09. Two weeks later I noticed that the shoes had been discounted to $25. I called and e-mailed DSW and inquired about a price adjustment. I pointed out that I was well within the return/exchange period but that didn't make a difference to them. They said they did not have a price adjustment policy and that I was basically out $70. That was my first shopping experience with DSW and it will be my last.

Lol, the above response sounds like it was written by a DSW employee.
It would have been so simple for Maria to have received her $70 difference back. She could have returned her shoes and bought a new pair at the clearance price. But if she had already worn the shoes, then she could have bought another pair of the exact same shoes on clearance and then returned them with the receipt she received for the first pair. Some would argue that this is dishonest - and to those I say, don't do it.

Everything eventually goes on sale and although many companies have a 14 day price adjustment policy, it is difficult for discount stores to do this. All of the footwear is already at a discounted price and once items are sold through and there are only a few left, they get marked down to make room for new items. It seems silly to me that you would stop going to a store because they would not make an acception for you that they don't make for anyone else. It is the business' right to make their own policies and our job as consumers to read the return policies on the back of the reciept or inquire within before we purchase. If it is not stated on the back of the sales receipt that there is a price adjustment policy then that means there is none. How is it that you are out $70? You in fact DO have the shoes that you purchased.
