DVD DONKEY is a big scam... Unfortunately I did not see this web site before I ordered a very hard to acquire dvd set for my father for Christmas... As it turns out, I am having the same experiences as everyone else... The money has been taken out of my account... But, not dvd's have arrived in the mail (now 10 weeks since I ordered!) And no reply to any emails sent! I am really upset, if only because my father would have absolutely loved the dvd's for Christmas!

I hope no one else has this horrible experience!

My situation is the same as everyone else. I placed an order on 27 December 2007 and continued to receive emails until 23 January 2008 stating my order was in "back order". My credit card was also debited the day after I placed the order. I have emailed to enquire were my order is and also requested a refund, Surprise Surprise I have had no response. I have contacted Visa who have arranged for forms to be sent, to be completed for me to attempt to claim my money back. Visa have informed me that the transaction has gone to an account in Cyprus! There is a telephone number for contacting these HORRIBLE RIP OFF MERCHANTS and after attempting to ring them the number does not exist!

Do not order from this company! They took my credit card information, charged me for DVD'd and never sent them. No one ever answers the phone # they give, or their e-mail. Then 3 months later they sent me an e-mail saying my order has shipped (which it didn't) and charged my card again! I had to cancel my card. If you gave them your credit card # cancel right away!

I also ordered a complete DVD set of Cagney and Lacey Jan 6th and have received automated responses which say that the item is on backorder and also that my credit card has not been charged but it most definatley has! This DVD company are a rip off and like most of you should have done my homework before ordering the item. I contacted my credit card company but they have said that there is nothing that they can do for me! Great!

I ordered the Johnny Cash Show on DVD from DVDDONKEY.COM. I have had my debit card charged and keep getting emails telling me that my purchase is on back order. I was hopeful when they emailed me saying that it would be back in stock in 5-7 days. It has been two weeks and I have not heard a thing from them. I don't think I will get my product and since it was purchaced by debit card, I won't get a refund. I would love to sue them. Has anyone gotten a product from them that they have ordered?
Please do not ever order any thing from DVDDONKEY. I lost my money and have no DVDs.

I ordered the Complete Set of Jem (old cartoon my sisters and I loved) on January 30th. I received numerous e-mails - the first one stating that my transaction had gone through, the second and third stating that my order was "Backordered" and then on the same day as receiving the third e-mail, I received another e-mail stating that my order had been "prepared" and was ready to ship, it even included a tracking number for the Canadian Post. I have tried the tracking number and it stated that it had been received 02-11-08 in Moontreal. I have yet to receive my dvd's. I have ordered items from other Canadian companies and never had to wait this long for something to be shipped. I am now forced to accept that I too have been scammed. What happend to honest people... Where do some people get off thinking they can do this to people. I work for my money. I EARN IT IN AN HONEST MANNER. I hope you idiots at DVD DOnkey are reading this, because what goes around, comes around! You will get your day and the rest of us that has been scammed? We will be the ones laughing... So enjoy your free money now, because it will all catch up to you and when it does, I hope you think of this posting as you sit in your cells...

I was scammed as well. I order the Get Smart series early December. My account was charged - numerous backorder emails sent when I inquired (of course no one answered the phone!). I filed a complaint with the BBB. Isn't there some way to shut these people down? Someone must have information that goes along with an IP web address.

What can consumers do about receiving defective items from ordering DVD's on line from Donkey DVD and TV Addicts, had their credit card debited and lack of response time received from companies when you email them on these issues? What are the rules for protecting consumers with ordering items online? how can money be credited back for items purchased and not usable due to defectiveness. I have been waiting for a new shipment of DVD's since December 2007. I did advise the company that I would take this further if they did not get back to me and of course no response to date.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

I placed an order with DVD Donkey for a set of DVD's (Married with Children) as a Christmas Present for my Husband. Now nearly 10 weeks have passed and no DVD's. At first they advised that my order had been placed on back order. Then they tell me they have processed a refund. After checking with my bank this is not the case. Email address's no longer work and the only way I have been able to contact them is via the website contact link where you fill in a form. First they told me my refund had been processed and when I called them on that they said the goods are still on back order. Also a response I got came from TV Addicts.

I then found this website with complaints against both DVD Donkey and TV Addicts as scammers.

There must be something we can do to stop more people from being ripped off.

I also fell for this scam.
Placed order on 12/21/07. Out $95.00.
I have been e-mailing them, and finally got a response on 2/13/08. That my order is on back order. They have changed their e-mail address and number.
This is the information that I have.

I've learned a hard lesson here.
I have notified the BBB, but who knows if that can do anything.
I'm not shopping on-line anymore.

I ordered the set of JUDGING AMY and ROUTE 66 from DVD Donkey on Jan. 4 2008. Money, $166.77 was immediately deducted from my credit card. They sent several e mails saying that the merchandise was backordered, and if I wanted to cancel and get a refund I could. No chance. The button doesn't work, the phones have been disconnected or the mailbox is full on the other number. I have told them BY 'LIVE CHAT' (no answer back) that I will report them for fraud. Thank God my credit card will dispute the charges, and I haven't lost any money. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAMMERS, AND IF YOU HAVE BEEN SCAMMED, TURN THEM IN!

I used this company for the first time at the start of the year. They promptly withdrew my money from my account, but I'm yet to receive any goods. I wrote back several times and I got mixed responses 1- my money was being refunded (which it hasn't) 2- they were out of stock and were now sending them (which they haven't). When I've tried contacting them again SURPRISE NO ANSWER AT ALL. They have disappeared off the face of this world!

i ordered three stooges 190 short subjects, supposed to be on 20 dvds.well i received 20 dvds, but only 60 shorts.soon after i ordered i got a phone call from my credit card holder telling me of possible fraud. sure enough i looked on line and somebody took it upon themselves to charge me 120.for a set i never ordered, finally i got a hold of someone from dvd donkey. they said they never see your credit card numbers due to the encription, but somehow they wer able to credit my account from the bogus charges. ive called my credit card holder and put the charge in the dispute resolution, due to false advertising. after seeing these complaints,i feel dumb not for investiagating them first. last time for me buying anything ONLINE. SINCERELY A STUDENT IN THE SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS. oh yea i had my credit card canceled and had a new on sent with new charge numbers i urge you all to do the same thing

I already reported them to the Federal Trade Commission. They are a bogus company located in Cyprus. I had to cancel my credit card because they charged my card 71.oo a month, and didn't send any DVD's. Only order from well known companies such as ebay or amazon etc.

I now know that I have been ripped off too. I purchased 2 complete series Quincy and Cannon @ $250 on 31st Dec and after nearly 3 months have yet to receive anything despite numerous emails, all unanswered!

I did test the water though by buying The Odd Couple which I received after a long time. Quality was very patchy and is was definitely a copy despite the site's quarantee that their products are genuine.

Buyers beware. Don't buy anything from this crowd!

I hope this is not the same company I made a complaint to before. I purchased The Still Standing series box set from DVD Donkey back in January for $185.00. An email was sent to me a few days later saying that the item was on back order. I became suspicious when several weeks went by and I still never received the merchandise. I emailed the company and they responded that they would not charge my credit card until the merchandise was sent. When I received my next credit card statement, a charge was made for $185.oo. I emailed the company again and they sent an email with a phone number, when I called the number it several times it was just a recording that says that it will connect you to an operator but when you press for that option, it keeps saying that that extension is not available at the time but it does the same thing no matter what time of day you call. I reported this incident to the Better Business Bureau but they said that they could not do anything because they think the company may operate from Canada and uses a fake address, name and number

I don't know why I didn't try to look up DVD Donkey before I made my purchase, but when I found this board a cold stream went through my body. Well, I received my order of Babylon 5, but it's an obvious boot leg. They've recorded (burned) onto these Dvds from some other recording. They aren't in the original packaging, and there are black ink fingerprints on some of the Dvds to show evidence of their work. The first disc is all wrong by having The Carol Burnett Show copied. In any event, I've decided that it's a lesson learned..stay with corporations you know and trust.

I fell victim to the scam of DVD Donkey. My money was debited from my account but product was never received. This is my first step in taking action against those who pry on the consumers. If you are reading this DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!

My order was placed in January and the money was debited in January. In February I received an email stating the DVDs were on back order and would be shipped in the upcoming weeks. It is now March and I still have not received any product.

DvdDonkey is a scam. I placed an order in January and received an e-mail from them almost immediately that the items were on backorder. I guess they do that to holdyou off for a while. A few weeks later I got another e-mail saying they would keep me updated when my order came in. A few weeks later they told me my order had arrived and they would be shipping it soon. More weeks passed and still no order. So, I called them and was told that my order had been canceled right after I had placed it because they didn't have the items in stock; this is their standard procedure. Hey, thanks for keeping me updated. Also, I was told I had been issued a refund. Strange that two months later it still had not registered on my account. Fortunately, my credit card company had dealt with them before and refunded my money. Stay away from these people!

For a Christmas present I ordered the complete 10 year collection of Beverly hills 90210. It has been four months since I ordered it and still have not received it. I have tried calling the number but it does not work. I have tried e-mailing them but all I get is the same response that my order is on back order. I tried to cancel and refund my order but the site you are supposed to go to does not exist. This was my first time ordering anything online and it will probably be my last because of the horrible experience I have had. I spent $150.00 dollars for nothing but a bunch of e-mails with no response.

I too bought the JAG DVD's for a Xmas present. I did receive a confirmation and a Postal Tracking Number. When I checked the tracking number was told it did not exist. I am now down over $300 and totally disgusted with this company. I have emailed 10 times and received 5 replies each one saying they were disturbed by what had happened and would look into it. Also received one saying not enough information so sent all the tracking details and order number etc and still nothing. I wish I would have ben more careful.

I didn't lose all that much cash (under $100US) but I wish I had seen this complaint site before I made that mistake. Their "customer service" desk promised a refund but that was quite a few weeks ago and still no refund. It usually takes a lot to fool me but here I sit with egg all over my face. DVD Donkey is the total scam everyone (except the scammer's post itself claiming to be very satisfied) here claims it to be.

I tried to purchase a box set of DVD's (Get Smart) late last year. I purchased them using a friend's credit card. As yet I have not received the DVD's but have been told by my friend that the money has been taken by the company that goes by the name DonkeyDVD (on the internet). We have tried to email them a few times now and did receive an email back from them stating that the dvd's were en transit. I now believe this to be false. Today I tried googling the company name and have found that there have been many complaints about this company.

Yet again, we consumers have been robbed and no-one seems to care. Governments seem to be wiping their hands. It all seems too hard. Very angry.

Dear fellow victims of the DVD rip off, PLEASE submit a complaint to the Royal Canadian Mounties at: info.dvd@rcmp-grc.gc.ca or write or call: William McKay, Constable Royal Canadian Mounted Police Federal Investigation Section
Montreal, Quebec, Canada Tel:[protected].

Reporting Economic Crime On-Line. Also, contact your bank or credit card company immediately and dispute the charge. I was ripped off in November of 2007 and can't believe these jerks are still getting by with ripping innocent people off! Why haven't the Royal Canadian Mounties done something by now...

Was just about to place an order when I viewed these complaints AND found out that DVDDONKEY and a few other DVD sites are owned by a group of men who were busted for fraud by the Canadian government and police back in December of 2007. As you all know, they took money from customers without delivering the goods---which, it looks like, they never had at all.

Around March 30, 2008, Columbia House sent unordered DVD which I returned to original address with a note stating I did not join their membership nor did I order a DVD. On April 10, 2008, I received a bill for the charge of the DVD and Late payment fee. I have attempted to contact them via phone with no results. I wrote a very detailed letter on April 10 stating the above. We'll see what transpires. I did not join the club nor did I order the DVD. DVD was returned to "return address", and I paid the postage.

If anyone has been scammed as I have by DVD Donkey I understand how frustrating it is. I would suggest you contact your credit card company and launch a credit card dispute. Be sure to include supporting documents such as emails between yourself and DVD Donkey and the original credit card statement - considering DVD Donkey never responds to emails there shouldn't be many. I have also contacted the Department of Fair Trading who are investigating the matter on my behalf and have been very helpful. I am in the process of contacting EBAY as I found DVD Donkey via a link on EBAY. It is truly appalling that there are companies such as these operating and continuing to get away with this abuse of trust. Does anyone have any further suggestions as to what can be done to make it more difficult for this company to operate? I have never received the DVD series I ordered in January and although I received automated emails stating the DVD's were on back to begin with, these stopped - I imagine this was to lull me into a false sense of security so that I would not start to complain about the length of time it was taking to receive my goods. I began emailing this company regularly and received one email in February stating that my order was going to be shipped in one week. Two months later and here I am! Good luck to everyone else who has been scammed by this company.. I hope you are able to get your money back!

I ordered the a television series (Falcon Crest). The total was $142.98 including S & S. It was ordered on 03/14/2008. It is now 04/12/2008 and still no dvd's! It should have been sent 12 to 14 days. I called the telephone number provided [protected] and spoke to "Tony Hernandez" He said my order was declined for 1 of 2 reasons: either the credit card company declined the order (which was odd because I had over $400.00 available credit or I left spaces after every fourth digit in the credit card number. He claimed he did'nt have the credit card information used. He said he was based out of Orlando, Florida, but the warehouse is in Montreal, Canada. I wonder what I should do next?

My order is still in limbo. The order was placed on 3/14/08; was told it would be shipped 12 - 14 days; and almost a month later no dvd's in the mail. The company who is based out of Orlando, Florida said the order was declined for 1 of 2 reasons. The gentleman I spoke to ("Tony Hernandez") said either I did not have enough money in my credit card account (I had over $400.00 available credit) or I left spaces in between every 4 digits of the credit card number.

Besides the Federal Trade Commision and the Better Business Bureau are there any other comsumer complaint agencies we all can utilize!

I spent over $100.00 ordering a box set and the company never sent me the product. I left voicemails, emails, and never heard back. Once I emailed the company notifying them I had contacted the Better Business Bureau the company wrote me saying the DVD was on back order. I emailed the company again and said I had been promised the product two months ago and told it would be available a week from when I had last spoke to a sales rep. I THEN recieved an email that said I was never CHARGED for the product. I sent one in return with an attachment of my bank information showing I HAD been charged and once again never heard anything.

I ordered these in January and it is now almost May.

I am deeply saddened to have spent $100 on something I never received. I feel like I just threw it away! What a terrible way to run a business.
