Complaint on easy life pools
I ordered a pool before lock down. I paid 55% deposit which worked out to r69000 which I found out that I was ripped off of for a 3 meter pool and a week or 2 after lock down, I requested a refund from them as we were not sure when we will be out of this lock down. They read all my msgs but never responded. On the 4th of may, I got an email from corne saying she will respond to me during the course of the week and then nothing. I had someone else contact them at the same time I was trying to get ahold of them and they responded to them and not me. Monday I sent a cancelation letter and corne replied to say they will cancel the order and let me know about the refund. I asked her when will I get my refund and no response. My poor son has been asking me continuously about the pool and i'm unable to even pay for another pool. I opened a case of fraud at the station and thanks to all the complaints on hello. Peter and on this site, it helps. I will not let them get away with this. Lol karma is b...
supply and installation of a pool and paving
Dolphin Pools (Fiberglas Pools SA) now trading as EasyLife Pools but still run by Werner and Connie Potonas supplied and installed a pool at my home in Feb. 2015. We had problems from the beginning but when we expressed concern were told that we should leave it to them as the experts.
They then did not install the agreed paving and we had to pay an additional R20k to have the correct paving.
Within a short period the pool began bulging inwards, the shell began
de-laminating and the pool was leaking. Werner and Connie Potonas came to our home and promised that they would rectify the problems but never did.
Ultimately we were forced to remove the pool and have another installed by Poolcraft (Paul) who did a great job.
After years of legal wrangling we were awarded a judgement for recovery of our money and costs but to date have been unsuccessful in the recovery.
During this period, I have found that many people have had similar experience and that the Potonas couple are expert in dodging the law.

morocco fibreglass pools
My names are Goitsemang Dibonwa from Botswana. I purchased 2 Morocco 10m x 4m fibreglass swiming pools in November 2017. I was promised delivery will happen by the first week of December. Delivery was suppose to be made to the Botswana boarder and I was to meet up with them and collect the pools as they do not deliver to outside the country.
The First pools was only delivered in late February 2018 and the second pool was never delivered. Mind you I'm also in business and I was purchasing these so as to fulfill an order from a client. After a lot of empty promises to deliver the second pool, the client ended up cancelling the order, hence I also cancelled the order with fibre glass pools SA. The order was cancelled around May/June. They promised that they will refund the money for the pool which is R74 000.00. We are now in October and they still have not refunded. Their number is hardly answered and what is baffling now is that their website has changed names to EASYLIFE POOLS. They guys at Easilife claim they are not the same company.
The two main contact at the company are Connie and Dax
Is there a way you can assist me in tracking these people down and getting my money back?
Pool incorrectly installed, paving not supplied
Dear Complaints Board
90% of the payment has been made on 23 January 2012. They were supposed to put a small, fibreglass plunge pool into an existing hole where there was a large collapsed pool.
They used rubble to fill the hole, did not compress, nor filled with sand but paved over this. Within days all washed away and collapsed. They are busy repairing that now.
However, they should be fixing the two major problems first: I showed the contractor, that the pool was sinking down on the eastern side. The difference is about 7cm, which is blatantly visible esp. when the pool is filled. He told me that all pools did that and it was normal. I disagree and want a pool with a straight water level.
Furthermore, the pool is not parallel to the house, which is another blatant eye sore, yet he claims it is 'normal'.
He installed another pump and placed the piping directly over the basket, which is difficult to remove when cleaning.
The pool light cable has been joined with tape and dug into the ground without conduit piping. He again said that he has been building pools for 20 years and that was the way electrical cables were being buried.
Only 6 of the 8 jets are working.
800mm of bevelled cement paving is being placed around the pool. I paid the contractor, who told me he was the brother of the owner, an additional R2500 for an extra 15m2 of paving. This was about three weeks ago. He has still not brought the paving and tells me he is busy and is promising to do it, but nothing is happening. Eventually I phoned the company and was told to phone the owner, a woman, named 'Connie'. She informed me that Henrico was just an employee and that she was not responsible if he had taken money from me. I find that terrible, as it is her responsibility to screen her employees and not let such a person loose on unsuspecting customers. She told me to lay a charge of theft against Henrico with the police.
Attached are some photos as proof. There are more if you need.
I am a widow and feel that Henrico saw easy prey. I trust you can assist me in this matter.
Kind Regards
Zita Rabek

Fibreglass pools sa has stolen r25 000 from us!
We cancelled the installation of our pool due to skepticism but unfortunately paid the r25 000 deposit. we cancelled within the 5 day cooling off period.
We have not been able to receive our money back from them and now we see that they have changed their company name to easylife pools however their domain name is still www.fibreglasspoolssa.com. they have also changed their tel numbers. we managed to get a hold of connie today but only when we put our phone on private number and she puts down the phone when we speak. please help!

These Crooks are continuing to steal peoples money with impunity. Unfortunately there seems to be no way to bring them to justice. Despite having obtained a High Court Judgement for a complete refund of the money's I paid for them to install a new pool which had to be scrapped and replaced, it has proved impossible to enforce the court order.
It would appear that they are always one step ahead of the Sherriff, just be thankful that you cancelled the pool and only lost your deposit, I lost R85k plus legal costs
Dear Complaints Board
Something needs to be done - Fibreglass Pools SA cannot continue to rip people off with poor quality, service and not standing by their "guarantees".
I am so sorry I did not check this company out before I contracted them to install an above ground pool last year. 50% Deposit and the the full 50% balance before they off load the shell! Then the problems started and once they have your money thats it! - I had exactly the same problems as all the others, poor quality, shocking service, leaking pool, 2nd shell supplied months later, shell not square or level at the top. Multiple phone calls to the same people mentioned + others and emails but all false promises and not pitching up. Less than 6 months later my pool is now cracking. Same story now trying to get some action - no returning of phone calls or e-mails. Only when I threatened Connie with "Hello Peter" I got an instant reply - "Well fix it yourself"!
Judging by all the complaints over the years something needs to be done to stop this company.
I dont want them near my house or pool - I just dont want anyone else getting caught by using this company.
Thanks
Danny

As per my previous correspondence and complaint (See below) with regards to Werner Potonos and Connie Potonus from Fibre Glass Pools SA.
I wish to appeal to you for your guidance and advise.
Its now 6 months I have been emailing, calling, SMS'ing and trying every avenue to get a response from Fibre Glass Pools SA. All to no avail. I finally managed to get hold of Werner Potonos (the Director of Fibre Pools SA) yesterday, on the the mobile number: [protected])
He takes absolutely no responsibility for the fact that the installation is faulty. Even though he has ever been to the site to personally to survey the complaint, he aggressively argues that the fact that the one side of the pool is 300mm lower than the other side (water level is 300mm lower on the east side, as opposed to the west side) is but an optical illusion, and its actually the decking that has shifted?
He was violently abusive to me, and has issued me with a DEATH THREAT (to myself and my family) if I pursue the issue. He advised me that he and his staff (who are well armed and have the means and resources), will personally see to my death to silence me, as he has had done to previous 'irritating clients'.
I asked him to retract this threat/statement, to which he replied 'that it was not an idol threat', and I need to take the threat seriously.
I therefore appeal to you for the following:
1) Due the DEATH threat, I can NOT have WERNER POTONOS or his staff come to my house to make any repairs (even if he is ultimately forced by a court and any other means). I therefore I am looking for an independent pool installer/contractor who can remove the pool, lay the correct foundation (that never was done), secure the interlocking bricks/retainer (that was never done), and replace the pool correctly and level. The surrounding decking will be removed and re-installed by the decking contractor. Do you have any reputable Pool installation contactor or recommendations that can assist in this regard.
2) As I will be suing WERNER POTONOS for all costs, I also wish to know if you have any recommendations for a suitable lawyer who handles this kind of case. Please advise.
3) As I will be taking this issue to court, I will need a person/company (Pool installer) who has the correct qualifications to also present themselves in court as an 'expert witness'.
4) Can you refer me to, or advise me on how I would obtain a restraint from Werner Potonos or any of his staff from myself, my family or property?
5) is there any consumer rights body that can assist with this kind of issue/complaint, that now also involves criminal issues (Death Threat).
6) Do you wish to join me and several others in legal action?
Please advise.

I am sad to say we are in a similar situation - we contracted Fibreglass pools in October 2014 and have had nothing but trouble - we were also pressurised into paying most of our bill before they would continue at each stage even with us being really uphappy that they only came in the evenings and on the weekend over a month period the fortunate part is that we were able to advise each day on what we were unhappy about but unfortunately the wheels fell off when they did the coping and paving on a Sunday and we were away for the day - we came home and wanted to cry. We also had the misfortune to have Henrico as the installer we also had an issue with additional paving we were well overquoted and know 'our' pavers have gone else where - he also tried to make me pay him cash for additional pavers! The paving and grouting is shocking and no compacting was done - the coping is uneven and has holes under the edge 41 to be exaxt! We had a family member of the Connie crowd come to see the workman ship and he was shocked to say the least... so we are now waiting for another representative to visit us and attend to our considerable snag list very stressful to say the leat!

ALERT: FIBRE GLASS POOLS (CONNIE AND WERNER POTONOUS)
AS AN INDUSTRY and consumer voice, I APPEAL FOR YOUR HELP!
POOL INSTALATION: FRAUD ALERT: FIBRE GLASS POOLS FRAUD.(CONNIE AND WERNER POTONOUS)
I contracted with Fiber Glass pools in March 2014, to install a small remolded pool.
Fibre Glass Pools SA survived the site and recommended the construction of a small retainer wall.
FINAL INVOICE number 024. (REF to Quote number: T127B)
DATED 24 June 2014.
Colorado 2.45m x2.45m x 850mm depth
Full installation: R22000
Retainer wall with Lock Blocks : R13800
Filter cover: R1200
Electrical Connection: R1380
TOTAL: R38 380
Sales Person: TISHA
(Full installation provided by FIBRE GLASS POOLS SA included – Digging of hole, installing shell, 800mm cement bevel paving around pool with pool coping, filter system(pump & sand filter), DB Box with timer, aluminum pole with leaf net and vacuum brush, pool shell with weir, aimflow, rock filter house and retainer wall to Fibre Glass Engineers spec)
During the installation process it became clear to myself (and my on site builder )that Fibre Glass pools where not preparing the Pool foundation or retainer foundation correctly.
I had the installation STOPPED, as Fibre Glass Pools had NOT compacted the foundation, nor correctly insulated the foundation, nor prepared the retainer wall correctly.
After several complaints to the Managing Director (Connie and Werner Potonous), I was rudely asked to leave the construction up to their professional engineers, and to not interfere.
I expressed my deep concerns (verbally and in writing), that I was concerned that without proper compaction or correct insulation of the retainer, that the pool will shift and subside with rains. The result would cause the pool to crack and damage the deck that would be installed around the pool.
Fibreglass pools SA (Connie and Werner Potous) assured me that their work stands by their guarantee, and should any shifting or subsiding occur, they will, at their cost, rectify.
Full payment was paid on completion in August 2014
(Well almost full completion! …… as I am still awaiting the Pump cover I had paid for, and the electrical box has still never been secured)
A Balau wood deck was installed around the pool at a cost of R25000.
Within a month the pool had already shifted/subsided 1cm. I contacted Connie and Werner Potonous and I was assured that their engineer would visit the site with a rectification plan ASAP.
Weekly calls turned into daily calls and emails have followed, and NO ONE FROM FIBREGLASS POOLS SA HAS EVER VISITED THE SITE.
It is now DEC 2014 and the pool has now subsided a further 300mm. I fear the pool will crack and destroy my expensive decking.
Still daily calls and emails continue and no resolve or response.
I have tried every avenue to get FIBRE GLASS POOLS to respond and rectify. They have chosen to ignore my complaint. They have left me no option but to resort to the public pressure.
I appeal to you to assist with pressure to protect me as a consumer.
Please forward this complaint to any person/s you know, or anyone who may help.
