On the 8th August 2019 I rented a vehicle from their agent in Guarda Portugal. The vehicle was returned 5 days later and I am still waiting for a refund of my Euro300, 00 deposit. I am travelling around Europe and the Euro300, 00 is part of my living expenses for my trip. I am currently in Italy. I need assistance in getting this resolved urgently. No response from the company.

buongiorno, vi contatto in quanto sono profondamente deluso da Fox Rent A Car e non riesco a capire come una società come la vostra non intervenga e lasci fare delle pratiche illecite alla Fox (purtroppo ho letto solo in seguito tutte le lamentele che riguardano la Fox). Ho fatto il contratto con voi scegliendo un veicolo Jeep Grand Cherokee con full assicurazioni e completo di sistema GPS. All'arrivo all'agenzia di Las Vegas siamo stati accolti in malo modo e ci hanno obbligato ad acquistare un supplemento di assicurazione, rifatto pagare il sistema GPS (in quanto per loro non era compreso) e non dato l'auto prenotata o quanto meno della stessa categoria (ci hanno dato un Mitsubishi Outlander con varie ammaccature, parabrezza scheggiato - foto allegate, e cinture di sicurezza rotte sui sedili posteriori, pneumatici quasi lisci)). Un veicolo simile è introvabile a noleggio in Europa. In allegato vi invio le foto del parabrezza, la scheda compilata dal noleggiatore con le varie segnalazioni dei danni del veicolo, la copia del contratto fatto con voi e la copia del contratto datoci dalla Fox. Vi chiedo quindi il rimborso delle spese del sistema GPS (dollari 208.81). Se non pagavo non mi avrebbero dato il GPS. Le nostre vacanze sono state rovinate da questa esperienza in quanto ad ogni momento avevamo la sensazione che l'auto ci potesse lasciare a piedi. Cordiali saluti. Christophe Cattaneo
faulty and dangerous car

today, 22-08-2019, I was forced to return my rented car, from HASSO, , a Dacia Duster (VF-L162) with e-voucher: ECFF9EA5 due to various malfunctions. I rented this car from 15-08-2019 til 28-08-2019, so 6 days to go.
The car showed the following malfunctions:
- flat left-front tyre
- flat right-rear tyre
- malfunction of the cruise-control
- right front door is not closing properly and constantly pops open during driving (this is dangerous).
- constant signal at the dashboard: low tyre air pressure and electrical failure. (so 2 signs). This I called in at the emergency number provided by HASSO, but they said: no worry, a Dacia does this often, you can drive safely. Don't pay attention to these signs.
- front license plate came loose. I put it at the dashboard.
Most of these malfunctions started almost immediately. I was unable to continue my holiday with this car and was forced tot return to Reykjavik.
At 22-08-2019 I was given a replacement car (another Dacia Duster) but the person in charge started immediately about the extra charges I possibly could get for fixing these malfunctions.
I expect no extra charges whatsoever, for I cannot be held responsible for these malfunctions (such as a loose door which pops open during driving or two (!) flat tyres). The car was clearly not in a proper state.
Instead of this I am glad I now can drive the last days of my holiday in a safe car and not have the risk of falling out whilst driving.

Good day. I have rented a car through economy rental for the 04August to 08 August 2019. The pick up point was OR Tambo international. They booked for me at HERTZ rental. upon arrival on the 04 August 2019, I was told I will not be able to get the car because I don't qualify according to their credit score rating which was not discussed with me during the bookings. I did not get the car. I'm complaining because I would like to have my money refunded because there was no service rendered .

We went through the Economy Car Rentals Website to hire a Category AA Car at Marseille Airport. Date 2nd July. Booking Ref:[protected]. Driver: Christopher Beynon.
During the online booking process, we choose to have the 'Full Insurance Package'
Costs provided on our confirmation were:
-Car Hire: GBP 118.26
-Excess Protection: GBP 29.96
-TOTAL PRICE: GBP 148.22
-Deposit Paid: GBP 39.13
-Pay at Desk on arrival: GBP 109.09 (approx. euros 120)
Firstly, on arrival we were told the charges were wrong. To ensure we had a 'full insurance package' we had to pay an extra euro 220 rather than the euros 120 we were expecting.
When we complained the duty, manager told us we should not have booked via Economy Car Rentals (ECR), albeit they, Inter Rent, are happily accepting online bookings from ECR. When we challenged this, they simply refused to accept any responsibility for customers being given mis-leading information by their approved broker. Clearly at this point we hit a nerve as we managed to secure a small discount.
This is entirely unacceptable and breeches all EU Trading Standards. We were mis-lead but had no choice but to continue with the booking so we could drive to our destination.
The language the Inter Rent staff used was calm but threatening. Telling us we could of course go without their (the owners) extra insurance but if there was the smallest scratch on the car when returned it could cost us thousands of Euros. They even handed us a long spreadsheet of potential charges.
We want a refund of Euros 100 to the credit card used to pay at the desk. Nothing less will be accepted and if this is not forthcoming, I will give Economy Car Rentals and Inter Rent the poorest possible feedback on every website I can find.
This is simply unacceptable behavior and cannot be allowed to continue.

My husband and I each reserved cars to be picked up in Frankfurt, Germany on June 14th and June 15th, respectively. I had selected cars for which the Collision Damage Waiver was included. Nonetheless, I paid for the extra theft-damage excess protection for my husband's car as his rental period is for over 2 weeks. This additional insurance was not available for my car at the time of booking. Upon pick up we were both told that the rental, as booked through Economy Car Rentals, did not include the Collision Damage Waiver and we would be liable for up to 18, 000 Euros in damages in case of an accident, etc. How is this possible? There was no option in Frankfurt to add insurance to cover the excess without cancelling the Economy Car Rental bookings, which had already been paid for. I have tried calling you and filled out the online form on your website. Please, can you clarify why the information the rental companies (Hertz and Europcar) receive does not match the terms and conditions the Economy Car Rentals customer receives and what we are now to do to protect ourselves in case of an incident? I wanted to make a reservation for my last days in Bilbao/Basque Country, and Economy Car Rentals came up with a great offer, some 9 Euros for a 3-day car rental, so I made the reservation. When I got the local car rental office, they told me that it would be some 120 Euros in total! As I had quite limited time and had already made my plans, I had to give in. It was a total robbery, an absolute disaster! I sent them an e-mail with all documents attached couple of weeks ago, no response whatsoever yet! If you receive such an attractive offer from this company, please be aware that there's something weird, and if I were you, I wouldn't rent any car from them.
The complaint I have made remains unresolved as for today despite it is qualified as resolved by complaintsboard.com. The company requested my voucher number and replied back pointing that all extra charges, about which I had not been informed, are normal and fair. This means I still consider the company Economy Car Rentals fraud and do not recommend anyone.

I am very disappointed with company Drive On Holidays and EconomyCarRentals.com. We ordered a car from EconomyCarRentals.com with full insurance.
When we arrived to pick up point (which is located in drive on holidays company in Lisboa) they told us at their are renting a cars from another company.in the documents and reservation was a full insurance but on the desk we got different informations. Car didn't have insurance at all. They wanted to charge us extra. First they asked about 1100€ and after long conversation 300€. That was too big amount of money to pay. The staff didn't care and didn't try to fix a problem. We were with small baby after long travel day. We tried to talk and get explanation why do we have to extra. They said at that's normal at people complains in their company... We also called to the another company to get explanation but they were much worst. A woman didn't want to give her surname and explain why are they charging extra money. That was a big mess between two companies. A company is located in Greece and only way to contact with them is by phone or email. We decided to don't rent a car. We tried to get money back and we still fighting. We have paid 200€ for a car which I never get. These companies are stiling from people. We have talked with police how to get money back. please! People rent from good and recommendent companies!

I booked a car from economy car rentals in Milano Malpensa airport . When i landed to airport there was hge busy on passport control and i delayed 20 minutes. When i go out i called car rental company and no answer. I called call center on Economy Car Rentals . They try to call them also they can not find and call center told me book a new car, i said ok but they did not do because of rent a car was busy on that day and all companies try to sell more expensive. Call center told me stay one night milano and solve the problem in morning with exist ren a car company . Next day in the morning we call the company they said sorry you book to b cancel and they dont have any more car. That menas they sold out my car more expensive to another people . Call center did for me afew times book nad they did not confirm they can not find any car in milano or 3 days over 1000 euro .
In my trip ı can not use car. Just continue with train and taxis and economy car rentals did not pay me back of deposit maybe ı was using more than 10 years maybe hundred of bokking now, i am writing every where and never book from them again . We have purchased through the economt cer rentals website a car rental and car insurance (order 3586200). We chose to insure the car through the website since you claim "We deal honestly to earn Trust! We are the most reliable online car rental company in the web!"
The car insurance we purchased is the "zero excess", the one that states " With this package you are FULLY PROTECTED".
While getting the car out of the parking area, we hit a pillar behind the car. Economy Car rentals claimed that the insurance is provided by the local rental provider. In the local provider terms the damaged caused in parking area is not covered.
The only place where we found the reference in their website about a local provider was under optional items.
"Optional Items and Fees
Optional insurances/ options purchased locally are controlled by the local rental provider."
Since Economy car rentals accepted our money, it only stands to reason that they are our car insurers. NO WHERE was it stated that the local provider will be our insurer.
Furthermore, the local agency specifically offered us to purchase their insurance with the claim that the insurance we have is through Economy car rentals, and therefore any damages will require us to pay local provider, and be refunded by Economy Car Rentals.
I emphasize that we had no way to know in advance that the insurance we paid to Economy Car Rentals for is actually offered by someone else.
When we payed for the insurance (well before arriving to the local agency), there was no information provided to explain that the insurance does no cover damages done in a parking area.
Since Economy Car Rentals have accepted the money, they are accountable by law to meet the terms they have offered on their website.
The claim that it is the local agency issue is unacceptable, since we have paid the advance for this service which was to be provided by Economy Car Rentals, long before arriving to the agency.
Moreover, it is unreasonable to claim that we have signed a contract that excludes damages done in a parking area for two reasons:
1) Information provided to us both by the website and by the local provider led us to the understanding we already had insurance coverage without that exclusion and so, the terms of their contract for their insurance were not relevant to us.
2) It is unreasonable to receive the terms of a deal you already purchased several weeks before only when you pick up the car. We already paid Economy Car Rentals 35 euro and it is not reasonable to expect us to cancel the deal on the spot and start looking for another car after we received their contract . Especially when we are sure that Economy Car Rentals are the insurance provider and in their website we didn't find this exclusion.
We were misled by the website and the local provider to believe that Economy Car Rentals are the insurance provider.
The exclusion of damage in the parking area (which is absurd by itself, because the accident was our fault. My husband was driving the car when it happened. This is exactly why we purchased the insurance - to be protected in case of accidents) does not appear on Economy Car Rentals website.
I wrote to the claim department many times and they don't even answer to my mails!
This service is a DISGRACE!
I expect Economy Car Rentals to stand behind their statements and be honest and reliable as they claim to be.
I purchased the insurance from their website believing their statements and now I see that they are definitely like many others.
Being the face of this service, I expect Economy Car Rentals to be accountable for the situation formed and refund us the money we paid for the car damage.

We rented a car from Economy Car Rentals website. We rented Ford Focus from 8.8.18 untill 28.8.18/ WE were suppose to pickup the car at Ljubliana airport. When we arrived there there was no one at the office of Adria car rental office(Green Motion is the name of the company).
We waited with a little baby for about 45 minites and made few calls untill the representative arrived. He said we doesn't have Ford Focus only another car Peugeot. He said we have to pay extra 40 Euros because we are crossing the border to Croatia. We never so this condition in Economy Car Rentals website. Than after all the procedures he wouldn't come with us to show us the car but told us to go to a huge parking place to find it by ourselves. When we brought the car back it was 3 am in the morning so we filled the fuel tank until it was full in Ljubliana the same evening but when we drove to the airport for 25 minites we didn't see any gas station so we brought the car almost full maybee 3-4 litters missing. but when we arrived home we so in the reciept that they took from us 23 Euros for that this is un fair or should i say theft.
Also we saw in the reciept that we pay 48 Euros for VIG we don't know what is that. Finally if we summerize this: We had a voucher that says we have to pay 295 Euros but finally we paid 405 Euros instead (Beside the 100 Euros for the baby car chair - This is o.k. with us)

We received an email voucher from Economy car rental that I need to pay rest amount of (58 eur)my booking at the counter. When I went to counter to get the car keys they charged me 25 eur extra for full tank service. When I call the call center if Ecomoy carvrental they told menthat price mentioned in terms and agreements. You can not put %25 of the price in terms and conditions. First, I'd like to express my dissatisfaction with the dishonest approach of the rental company. It's the first time that a rental company cheated on my reservation. My reservation clearly states that I had an SUV Diesel, Jeep Renegade or similar reserved and paid for. I always rent SUV style cars when I travel. Upon arrival, the Budget representative at the counter was trying to give me a compact car (which is clearly not what I had reserved) and offered me an SUV for en additional 50 euros a day. When I hesitated, she offered an SUV for a special price of 25 euros a day. I clearly disagreed and when I asked for her employee ID number to file a complaint, she suddenly found the car I had requested in my reservation.
She also offered additional insurance, which I had already declined because I had the complete insurance with you the Enconomy Car Rentals and I'm also insured with my credit card company.
At the end of our stay in Sicily, I returned the car with its tank full. The gentleman accepting the return had a receipt ready with a charge of 68.25 euros for fuel up front option even though I had never asked for this option. He said that charge was going to be eliminated from the final bill. Also upon expecting the car, he found a scratch on the rear left wheel plating rim. (I have pictures available) He said there would be a charge for that. I'm truly surprised that a car rental company would even charge for a scratch on a wheel rim. It's part of regular usage.
To my surprise when I received my credit card statement, there is a charge of 905.47 CAD which equals approximately 590 euros. The amount payable at the desk should have been 130.97 euros + 39.71 for the wifi internet which should have been the total of 170.68 euros.
Given my experience with the Budget Car Rental in Sicily, I suspect fraudulent charges from their part. I requested a detailed bill with amounts and description of charges.
Should I not receive the detailed bill within the next 14 days, I will be be disputing the charges with my credit card company.
I'd like you to take action in the complaint and exerce pressure on the car rental company on fraudulent charges.

I have just received a very strange phone call from someone who passed himself to be from Economy Car Rentals but was giving me information regarding the reservation with Budget Catania. I do hope to have been a victim of a prank phone call because the conversation was very inappropriate.
The person speaking with a rather strong accent in English stated to be named Caspio. He insisted that the fuel up front charges were a routine practice even though I returned the tank full. He also stated that the additional charges were a result of some speeding tickets. I would love to know when and where I got the speeding ticket since I barely drove the car besides going to and coming from the airport. The man also called me a "stupid person", a "stupid man" and an "[censored]". Then he asked me if I wanted to talk to his supervisor, which naturally I did. The "supervisor" who seemed to be speaking sometimes with a thick accent and sometimes with a North American accent continued on offending me. The number showed on the caller ID as a New York number +[protected]. When I called back the person spoke with an clear Australian accent. I'd like to know if anyone from your company in fact did call me. If the peson did call me, I demand explanations and apologies.
I would also like to know if you had a chance to contact Budget Car Rental in Catania regarding my complaint.

six months and still no credit
Normally I have had great success with EconomyCarRentals, but my first bad experience shows that they do not resolve problems well. I had reserved a car in Jerusalem City Center for 4 days. I paid Economy their deposit and they provided me their voucher. Problem is that the Budget rental car company in Jerusalem would not honor it since they said I was a "no-show." I was there exactly to the minute of the agreement. I found out that Economy had made a computer error booking my reservation a month earlier than the contracted time and making it for 33 days. I then had to take same day rate for the only car left there or anywhere and have to pay half again more than the voucher. Economy had no phone they answer. I informed them by email within a week including all of the paperwork showing them their error. I requested the difference between the voucher and what I paid. They said to give them a few weeks, which I did. It has now been six months with emails every month. They don't deny the problem, but they pass the buck to the Budget or act like they don't understand how such a thing could happen. Either way I made a contract with them and their voucher was worthless because of their input error. Still no resolution. I think the keep putting their head in a hole hoping it will go away or I will die waiting. A mark of a good company is how they handle problems. This is a black and white very objective problem. I am surprised especially since I am (or should I say was) a big fan of theirs.

I made an online booking with economy car rental for the 16th October 2017 whereby they took a deposit of R1500.00 which is refundable. When I arrived on the 16th October to pick my car up, I found that I was not booked on the super waiver but on the standard waiver. I tried to amend the booking prior to this but the website did not allow me to do so. First car rental also tried to amend the booking and they could not do so. I phoned economy car rental and explained the situation to the lady and she said that she could not also amend the booking as it is a standard booking. I then told her to cancel the booking and i made another booking directly with first car rental. Now economy car say that i was a no show and that i forfeit my money. This is the worst customer service i have ever received and i am shocked that they just take money from people without delivering any services. Please assist me with getting my money back and warn people about this company.

I still don't have a confirmation of my reservation nr.3257005. Despite my phone call to ECR after 12 hours past placing an order (which is a time limit stated in an ECR's email) and ask for intervention and warning that Sabbath starts soon. ECR phone in Israel does not respond!
What's is going on with You. You used to deliver a good service in last years!

Just a moment ago I have spoken again with a person on ECR line who despite giving me no clear information about what and WHEN can be done was just rude to me and when I asked her whom am I talking to, she hung up. Disgusting. If I will not get a car from my reservation I will definitely seek compensation from EconomyCarRentals for all costs that I will encounter because of that.
