Easy terra car hire
Easy Terra's website advertised that an International license was NOT needed for car hire for Italy. Just a license in English or translation. Contract was provided to us in Dutch. When we arrived to pick up the car, we were told we needed an International license and could not collect a car. They would also not acknowledge the contract (even enter the booking number) because it was in Dutch.
It was very difficult to get through to customer service. So do check before car hire, that you really can hire the car. Website is misleading. Money was refunded (with deductions ?) but with no apology or acknowledgement of their mistake. Very inconvenient and extra cost for us.
Desired outcome: Easy Terra to ensure their website is not misleading.
Car rental
I rented a car last night (August 10) from Easy Terra, which turns out isn't actually a car rental company, but some sort of broker. You don't get to see that you will have to have a credit card to pick up the car until after you've already given your debit card information, but we don't have a credit card. There is no way to cancel except to call. I couldn't get ahold of anyone since it was night time, so I called first thing today (August 11). I had to talk to numerous people, calling several different phone numbers. I was lied to and told different stories and repeatedly and rudely talked over. They were hostile to me and seemed to be reveling in getting away with another con job as they refused to make a refund. They have stolen over €412 from me for a service I cannot use. They must be fully aware that what they are doing is unethical and cruel, taking money from people already in an emergency situation without providing anything in return. It's the very definition of a scam. The entire point of our trip is needing to get to the U.S. embassy to resolve the emergency, which the evil people at Easy Terra have made infinitely worse by stealing from what little money we have left. These people are sick and should be ashamed of themselves.
Desired outcome: We want our money back!
car hire organised by you with centauro
My voucher number EU [protected]-1
On arrival at Alicante I was served by the rudest attendant ever, her name is Rime Mekquar and she says she is the Centauro supervisor as I was not allowed to speak with one. She attempted to take €35 from my credit card by amalgamating a service charge with their fuel charge and when questioned became very aggressive, shouting that she had already explained this and it was my problem if I hadn't understood. I had to request to be attended to by another attendant.
When I collected the car it had a lot of damage that was not on the contract, the interior had not been cleaned and it smelled of tobacco smoke. The fuel tank was not full although I had paid for a full tank. The attendant at collection was very good and tried to solve my problems but the whole experience was terrible. His name was Eduardo.
I am not looking forward to returning this car and as we stand will never use Centauro again and at present I am undecided about using EasyTerra.
What is your response?
Regards
Sean Walsh

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

EasyTerra website is deemed to be popular and indicating that it receives a high volume of traffic. It is important to be cautious when using a highly trafficked website, as it may be a target for cybercriminals looking to exploit vulnerabilities or steal personal information.
However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:
- While EasyTerra has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 0% of 7 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
- EasyTerra protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
thrifty car rental
On 5 february 2018 I rented a car at Seattle AirPort from april 18 till may 4. I payed € 460, 94. When we came at the Thrifty desk on april 18 We wanted to change the driver, my wife should be the only driver. Because of my former illness. The Thrifty agent refused the driver change because my wife's name was not on my credit card (she didnot have a creditcard of her own). Allthough my name was on her driver's license.in the end we had no car. The agent promised that I only had to call Easy Terra and they will refund all the euro's. When I called and e-mailen Easy Terra next day, because it was already close to midnight they refused to refund. To us this is pure theft, we paid for a car we did not get. So a gentle solution for us is a refund of the money excluded april 18

Up till now our experiences with Easy Terra were okay, but after this event we would not recommend this company to our friends.
rental car
We have reserved a car from Easterra and paid in advance, the flight was late by hour and half, they left us sleep on the terminal floor till 7:15 in the morning without trying to locate us or leaving any telephone number.
They charge us the full amount although we rent the car 8 hours later.
They do not reply to our e-mails regarding apologizing and compensation.

extra charges, car hire not as stated, no response to complaint
Car was booked through Easyterra but provider was Maggiore Car Hire. Booked a Fiat 500 (or similar) car well in advance for collection from Milan Station at 2.00pm. Waited 3 hours before they 'offered' us a Smart car. We really wanted a 4 seater to fit luggage in.
They basically told us to take it or leave it. There were 2 other couples who were waiting for cars so we thought we would be left without any car so we reluctantly took it.
We booked the car to drop off at Bergamo Airport. The car was paid for up front through Easyterra. Dropped car off as arranged. A week or so later they charged us about £50 for the drop off fee. So far 3 emails have failed to produce any response from Easyterra. They don't appear to have any phone lines to contact them. Whilst they appear to be cheap I won't be dealing with them again.
delivering the car in the wrong country
After booking a car in Geneva Airport for use in Switserland . I was asked to collect the car at the French part of the airport. This was of mayor impact for my short holiday.
It takes 15 minutes to get from the Swiss part to the french part of the airport with extra border control
Renting a French car means no winter tires nor snow chains although the rental company knew I was going into the mountains in Switzerland.
It means no road toll sticker Aprox. €35to buy one.
Car was "old" and radio was not working
Police stopped me driving on summer tires could not use the car for 2 days
Buying snow chains locally cost another €110
Rental agency Hertz/Thrifty said we are French and we are not obliged to supply you with winter equipment
Rental broker (Easyterra/Europecar) said I choose France as collection point
Redoing the booking afterwards showed the Easyterra/Europe Car changed the pick-up point without you noticing
