Edwards rebuilt my transmission on my 2012 Jeep Compass sport in March
Edwards rebuilt my transmission on my 2012 Jeep Compass sport in March. The transmission locked up in February this year. They've had my Jeep for 10 weeks now. They never called to explain why. When I called, they gave me the run around. I asked to speak with management multiple times, but they said they would pass on the message. I never got a call back. Now, they put me on hold and never return to the phone.

Since November, I've been going back and forth to Edward's Transmission and Engines (ETE) to fix my car's transmission. I shelled out $1,957 for the repairs. They told me to bring my car to a certain dealership so they could inspect the transmission. However, I had to pay to retrieve my car from the dealership. The dealership claimed that I needed a brand new transmission, even though ETE had supposedly rebuilt or replaced it. ETE also messed with other parts of my car, like the computer, which has caused some unexpected issues. Now, ETE wants me to take my car to another transmission specialist, but they don't want to foot the bill.

I had to get a starter replaced
I had to get a starter replaced. I went to pick my car up from the shop and my radio was missing. Also, my desktop is all smashed up and all my stuff that was in the trunk was in the back seat. This is a criminal act and I feel like I'm not getting assisted properly. I was told the district manager was coming in today at 8:30-9am but he never showed and I was told he was going to give me a call but I never received one. I showed up at the shop after work and now I'm being told they will call me tomorrow. I spent $515 with this company trusting them with my car and the radio I had installed was not cheap. They said before they sent my car out the radio was intact. Also, I had drinks in my car as if someone was lounging in my vehicle. How I was treated as a customer was just sad.
I bought a transmission from Edward's Transmission and Engines with a three-month warranty
I bought a transmission from Edward's Transmission and Engines with a three-month warranty. I had issues with it within a week of getting it. They told me that the truck needed more miles for it to work properly. After a week and still having the same issue, they said everything was fine. They never logged the truck or did any diagnostics. After being lied to multiple times, the transmission broke down in just 120 days. The supervisor (***) who lied to me and said everything was okay made me bring my truck back, only to get fired shortly after! The new supervisor (***) has been really rude. He says it's my fault because (***) didn't log anything, and there's nothing he can do. I feel like I've been cheated and scammed. *** keeps lying and saying he doesn't know anything about the situation, even though I've been calling every week! I'm really upset and hurt!
I got my car fixed at Edwards Transmission twice in the past half year, and both times they charged me a lot of money to fix the same issue
I got my car fixed at Edwards Transmission twice in the past half year, and both times they charged me a lot of money to fix the same issue. Today, I finally got my car back after it spent more than two weeks at Edwards' shop. They said the transmission was fixed and ready for me to pick up. However, after having my car for only 5 hours, it stopped working again, and the transmission went out once more. This is the second time Edwards has replaced my transmission in the last six months. Even though I have a warranty on my transmission, they still charged me for a new axle that I didn't even need. They told me I needed a new axle, but it's not even listed on the old receipt. I asked them to put my old axle back in my car so I could have someone else check it out. They said they would put my "old" axle in the trunk, but when I got to my job, I found out there was no axle in my trunk.
This place took my car for repairs and kept it for months without any updates
This place took my car for repairs and kept it for months without any updates. Finally, I got a message from Ruby, the person in charge of the repairs, saying they found a problem with the TCM. After waiting for a really long time, they told me they received a damaged part and tried to replace it with a used one, but that one was also broken. They then messaged me saying my car was finally ready after I paid in full. However, as soon as I drove a little, the same issue happened again. I had to get my car towed back to their shop, even though they said it was fixed and ready to go. This put me in danger because the car stalled in the middle of traffic, just down the block from their shop. They took my car once again and told me it was now the PCM. Instead of calling me, they sent me a message saying they had tried everything they could and that my car was done. This is a terrible excuse, and I want some answers.
I had a problem with my vehicle - a fuel leak and a stolen catalytic converter
I had a problem with my vehicle - a fuel leak and a stolen catalytic converter. I took it to Edwards for diagnosis. It took them three weeks to figure out the problem. They then told me it would cost $2900 to fix it. Unfortunately, due to losing my job during the pandemic, I couldn't afford the repair. The vehicle actually belongs to my cousin, who inherited it from his mother when she passed away last year. He lives in Las Vegas, NV. After losing my job, the vehicle broke down, and my cousin asked me to fix it and bring it to him. I agreed, but then I lost my job too because of the pandemic. When the vehicle arrived in Las Vegas, I didn't receive any updates for three weeks. The manager said they were behind schedule. Finally, they told me the repair would cost $2900 for a $200 catalytic converter and a $248 gas pump. I didn't have the money for the repair, so I paid the bill immediately. The manager then informed me that I would also be charged for storage. I told him I would be receiving unemployment benefits in a couple of weeks and could pay for storage and towing then. However, the manager just called a tow truck and had the vehicle impounded without informing me. We had been communicating throughout this whole process, but now he suddenly stopped. This has once again caused a lot of stress for me because the only person who can retrieve the vehicle from the impound is three-quarters of the country away. The manager knew about my situation, but he didn't seem to care.
I had a 2007 GMC Acadia and I called Edwards Transmission to tell me what was wrong with my SUV
I had a 2007 GMC Acadia and I called Edwards Transmission to tell me what was wrong with my SUV. I trusted them because I didn't want to deal with a mechanic on the street. A worker named Seth charged me $109 to inspect my vehicle and tell me exactly what was wrong. He said it needed $500+ just to look inside the motor and see what was wrong. So I paid $500+ with no problem. Seth called me back and said I needed a new motor, a new engine. He said it would cost $7,600 to repair in total. I said I don't have that kind of money, then he lowered the price to $5,600 and insisted I try to get financing. I told him I was coming to get the vehicle. When I arrived to get my vehicle, Seth had been fired the day before and my motor was broken down in pieces. The other workers brought out two pieces of the engine. My mother asked if there were any other pieces and then they brought a big part of the motor out and put it in the back seat. I had to get my vehicle towed home missing pieces and with the engine just broken down. I put my trust in this shop and spent my money with them and they did this to my SUV. No one will even touch it because it's all broken down and missing pieces. As a single mom of four, what am I going to do? This is not fair, I will be seeking justice. How is my family supposed to get around now...wow!
I need help fixing my car at Edward's Transmission and Engines in Castleton
I need help fixing my car at Edward's Transmission and Engines in Castleton. My car was towed to their shop on 12/6. I called on 12/9 to check the diagnosis. The shop manager, ***, said I needed a new transmission and transfer case. They found a used one with about ***k miles and quoted me ***. Usually, auto shops don't charge until the work is done, but the manager asked for the full amount upfront. I couldn't pay it all, so I gave them *** to start the work. I made the payment on 12/9, and it posted on 12/13. I said I'd be back in 2 weeks to pay the rest and pick up my car. On 12/23, I called to check the status and let them know I was ready. They said my car wasn't ready and more work was needed. The manager said he'd try to find time to inspect it. Finally, on 1/6/22, I got my car after complaining to the manager. The transmission failed that same night at 7:30. They picked it up on 1/7/22. I called on 1/10/22, but no answer. On 1/11/22, they said the rear driver side axle needed replacing. They fixed it for free, and I picked up my car today, 1/13/22, after 30 days at their shop. But, just 5 minutes into driving, the transmission failed again. I had my axles replaced 90 days ago, so it's not the axles. They're lying. I don't trust them and want a full refund!
In November , I needed to replace my car's engine and contacted Edwards for an estimate
In November , I needed to replace my car's engine and contacted Edwards for an estimate. My fiancé called and requested the car to be towed to the "Castleton" location. The tow truck driver confirmed this arrangement when he picked up my car on a Saturday. However, when we called on Tuesday to inquire about the engine replacement estimate, we were told they didn't have it yet and would call us when they did.
Days passed, and then we received a call from a manager at the "Michigan Rd" location, informing us that my car had been vandalized. The driver's window was broken, and my entire trunk, along with my speaker and amplifier, was stolen. We were puzzled as to why my car was at the Michigan Rd location, and they couldn't provide an explanation. They promptly transferred my car to the "Castleton" location upon our request.
When we asked to see the surveillance video because we suspected an inside job due to the time it takes to remove a trunk lid, Edwards at Michigan Rd claimed they had no cameras. They mentioned that another car had been stolen from their business a week prior, and there were other vehicle break-ins, but no preventive measures were taken.
Eventually, my car was taken to the correct location. The district manager, Rick, called and informed me that they found a trunk for my car and offered $1000 for my amplifier and speaker. They quoted around $5000, including labor, to replace the engine. However, Rick failed to mention the cost of my custom paint job, which was less than a year old, and my trunk spoiler. We requested them to replace the window and trunk while we planned to have the engine replaced elsewhere.
By mid-December, when I checked on my car, it was still in the same spot where the tow truck driver had left it. The window was still missing, and the trunk was not installed or covered, leaving the interior and my music circuit breaker exposed to the elements like rain, hail, sleet, and snow. In January, there was still no progress on my vehicle. Frustrated, I contacted the corporate office and explained my situation. Later that day, a different manager called and promised to take care of the window and trunk.
Now, it's March 3rd, and I still don't have my car. I've been without transportation since November . As a frontline worker, risking my life as an RN to provide excellent customer service, it's disheartening to receive such poor customer service in return. It has been a struggle for me to commute to and from work every day.
