Everpet review: made my dogs sick 17

The word is "Bowel", not "bowl".

Check to make sure that it isn't the *store* you bought it from that's the issue, your going to get a different quality buying at a pet supply store, then purchasing from a cheap dollar store. If your going to be giving something to your pet, make sure that you at least take the effort to ensure it's been properly stored and handled.

If you are going to give your dog rawhide, one of the best things that you can do for your dog is to only feed American Rawhide ONLY!

Dollar stores and most supermarkets, etc. only carry cheap rawhide from China.

Look for USA Rawhide. Yes, it's more expensive but worth every penny vs the risk of rawhide from other countries. Laws that govern the manufacturing and curing of rawhide in the United States are not the same in other countries.

i have three dogs, and i used to buy rawhides daily from the local dollar general. they have never gotten sick from them before. i quit buying them all together because it obviously does not matter where you buy them or what brand you buy anymore the quality has gone to the pot!
i have resorted to buying my dogs pig ears and soup bones from the market. so far i have not had any trouble with my dogs throwing up on my floors or (in my shoes!). some thing is wrong with the rawhide chips. i hope someone figures it out.

We live in a small town where there is a Wal-mart and a Dollar General. The Wal-mart is a little better quaility then Dollar General, but at least my dogs don't get sick from the Wal-mart brand!Something is wrong with these Everpet rawhides from Dollar General, because this problem has never happened before! Please stay away from these chew chips!

My dog is also very sick from the EverPet dog food from Dollar General or from the rawhide bones from Dollar General. He has been vomiting, blood in stools, and blood in urine. He was fine until we switched the dog food and started giving him the rawhide bones. He'll be lucky if he makes it. any suggestions

Oh my God...i came on here to review Ever Pet dog food b/c my dogs are having diharrea and throwing up..all 4 dogs and I was concerned..do not buy dollar general everpet dog food!

i fed my litter of pups everpet dogfood and can food and i have lost 6 pups due to this food do not feed any of your dogs dollar general food unless you want to lose your dog i am getting ready to sue dollar general for the wrong they have done.

My 6 mon old puppy is about to die because I can't afford to take her to the vet. This really scares me that this food may possibly be doing it. I started giving her EverPet treats a few weeks ago. My other dogs kept puking them up. She didn't and now she is skin and bone and wont eat anything. The puke is identicle to that of my other puppy. This brand is killing dogs. RECALL IT NOW. AND TAKE ACTION. IM A DOG LOVER IF THEY DIE EVERPET WILL GO DOWN. I WILL HAVE APIC POSED TOMORROW OF MY DOG.

The dry cat food also made my cat very ill. I am returning a big 15# bag of the EVERPET dry cat food to Dollar General. It looked just like the usual cat food I feed my cat so I thought I would try it. It's a shame it didn't come in a smaller package to try. I just bought it and my cat refused to eat it at first but then got hungry and ate a little. He's never thrown up so violently in the 9 years I've had him. Puke was literally everywhere, even on the wall!He then refused to eat the cat food again and started begging for his treats (not any Dollar General brands) because he was starving! I think it should be called "NEVER"PET because once your pet tries it, they will NEVER eat it again! I bought the cat's regular brand food by purina and he gobbled it up as if he's never seen cat food. Purina brand never made him sick and it was never on a recall list. Poor Kitty! NO MORE EVERPET!

I am just broken. I just lost my companion and friend of 11+ years and am looking at every damm thing that could have happened. At first she lost the ability to walk with her hind leggs a day at a time till they no-longer worked at all. I took her to a vet who said that because of her breed and age it was most likely hereditary "hipp dysplacisia" she was a Rottwieller, at the moment I was strapped for cash and had many others to care for as well as myself, , so when they told me approx$130 to 150.00 for the first x-ray and additionals @ $ 35.00 I questioned as to HOW sure they were with the diag. I was told the symptoms and excepted it with medication to treat the symptoms of pain. That was in Nov after thanksgiving 2009. I was happy or satisfied with this outcome however and started searching for an affordable vet, , every month for the last 3 I would take her to have her meds refilled fiftymiles from here. The last time the vet decieded that she wouldn't need to put her under to x-ray her and muzzel and x-ray at $35 per slide.

No sign of displacia at all and in fact she said her joints look good for her age, , , must be nuerologicol desiase deteriation of the nerves and only advanced cell research and large money would save her, , , that was about three weeks ago, , she died inch's from my lapp fighting to stay with me thursday night, she loved and stood by me for 11 yrs. I am a 54yr old male, , single and am lost because I never had such love in my entire life from any living thing, , ever. I want to blamme myself for being to poor to have had care of her to protect her from this maddness of profit over compassion and honesty. I didn't deserve to have a beautiful life in my life that I was by financial staus unable too be safely feeding and mighty enough to protect. I have been searching for an anserw for why she died for the last three days, , I was feeding her everpet, , I started buying that when the FIRST Meliamine recall list stopped my usual purchase's from WAL-mart pedigree and oldroy because though they said said the had removed them from the shelf and replaced them with new stock, I actually found cans returned on the shelf and took them to the manager, , not just once but upon several other visits, I was told, if I remember correctly, that some of the help being non english hispanics, , must have done so by mistake. So I went to petsmart and relalized this was for the upper class and after trying the everpet on all three doggs who ate it she was the only one who later seemed to reject it. So near the end I changed over to there tuna and samon cat food trying to get her to eat. I never hear the recall for everpet on the news and until this quest thought she may have been poisioned by a mean nieghbor. I will never be the same again, , she trusted me and I have failed her, hurt her and burduned myself with a permenant load of guilt. what do I do now..She looked in my eyes as if to say help me, I will never lose that memory and will be forever sorry.

We have 2 Dachunds, Jazz & Indy. Jazz was 5 years old and Indy his mother is 7. I started feeding them Everpet 3 months ago. In December one morning I was letting them out of the cage, they are caged at night, and Jazz could not use his hind legs and he started having seizures and would not drink or eat. I took him to the vet and they said that it was common in this breed to have back problems. I have had this breed all my life and never saw this in them. 3 days later Jazz died of Kidney failure. One week later Indy stopped using her hind legs as well. I threw away Everpet and started feeding her Tuna/ chicken breast mix with a little chicken broth and homemade veggie soup. She perked right back up! But she still has not gained control of her hind legs yet and I fear she never will. I will never feed my pets any brand of dogfood again. Canned tuna and canned chicken breast is relatively cheap in bulk as well as chicken broth and everyone loves homemade veggie soup. For large breeds it would be expensive, but for small breeds the cost is comparable as I feed once a day to maintain her weight.

I to have a poodle and vomited all night due to everpet dog treats from dollar general that is the last time that Iwill
give my baby those treats again.

I should sue everpet and have dollar general not to sell that companys products anymore.

Crazy, I live in Erie, pa too...my 1 year old beagle has some nasty chicken allergies, so ever since she was a few months old, I've been incredibly picky on what my fiancee and I feed her. My mom and I were recently at a charity fundraiser thing for my cousin who has ALS and we won a dog basket...with a everpet rawhide, and two bags of treats, both everpet.I've never heard of this brand..so I researched it, there is no chicken in it...but after seeing all these posts, I will not feed her any of it. I gave her the rawhide at first...half the time she doesn't eat them, she buries them in blankets and in the couch lol but now I don't want it anywhere near her. I don't buy her food or treats anywhere but the vets office, petsmart, or PETCO. Even though this post is pretty old, I'm going to forward it on!

Dollar General—-Please bring back the Yellow & Pink Everpet rubber balls, as the other Everpet balls are not nearly as durable and don't work as well in the ball flinger. Our Blue Heeler LOVES his yellow ball & we lost our last one while camping this past weekend. 🙁 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING THEM BACK

Cracked open a dog biscuit from Ever Pet, and saw a dead worm inside the biscuit, disgusting, throwing the whole box out.
