Great app . Now complete !
This app is very easy to use. Great and very innovative UI. I love the feel everytime I open this app. This is the standard I expect from every app out there !
The support is incredible. You write to them and they give you either a nice way to handle your problem or accomodate it in the new release. Earlier I requested INCOME CATEGORIES, they accommodated it. Then I asked for Backup/Restore, they just provided it. The new export optionis also great. Thank you guys.
A+ for being outstanding in every aspect.
Good 4 personal use bot not both biz and personal
They need two separate tabs so you can keep track of personal and business expenses.
Despite advertising that this is good for small biz owners, it looks like it's primarily a personal accounting tool to me.
I want to be able to keep my biz and personal accounts totally separate and see where each stands at a glance.
A biz tab and a personal tab with separate accounts for each would be ideal.
Also-biz categories should correspond to deductible biz tax categories so that you have your totals when tax time comes.

I recently purchased this app. for my itouch. I have entered all our budget info in but I don't see a way to sync it with my husband's itouch so I don't have to enter everything again. Hopefully I am just missing something. At first I LOVED this app and was telling everyone about it...but now I am frustrate. I tried to contact on2sol for support questions but my email was returned even though I used their "contact" link. This is the first disappointment I have had and I am hoping I can find a way to get some technical support.
Great App!
I've just reinstalled this app.
I think it's the best one available. I can either draw from a budget or accounts such as bank and credit cards or I can just simply track expenses.
Or use it for business and personal.
I think this would be fantastic for young people to start to control and understand their spending habits... I wish I had one of these when I was young.
It's infinitely adjustable to your needs and very intuitive to use and customize.
At a glance I can see my expenses on graphs or a pie chart or columns.
Grade app!

Very helpful app! The app does all the things it boasts about. The flexibility of the categories (use them as is, tweak them to fit your style, or make all new) is very useful. The reports are most helpful. One must be diligent about recording accurately. Remember GIGO. I've happily used this app for over 2 years until Apples latest upgrade TRASHED my phone and all it's data. The support team for this app was very prompt in getting back to me with alternatives to get back up & running, including their internal backup system.
Good app. Good people. What more can one ask for?
Easy to use & responsive developers
I spent about a week comparing budget apps (e.g., Mint, iExpense, AceBudget, etc), and this one by far meets my needs.
Ease of use:
This app is incredibly easy to use. The features are straightforward - you don't feel lost. You don't have to go through multiple pages (or forms) to record an expense or income. Great visual effects.
Great customer service:
When I realized the app was missing a capability to apply credits (currently, you need to record refunds and other credits as income) I brought this up to the developers. The developers responded within 24 hours and agreed to enable the 'negative expense' option for my iPhone.
Great app with all the features I wanted and great price
I previously used I Bear Money for the longest and I loved it but then long story short, I got a new computer, updated ipod software and would have had to buy that app again. The price is now twice as much so I starting looking for another budgeting app with similar features but more affordable. After some searching I came upon ExpenSense.
ExpenSense is easily customizable and user friendly. I can change account names, add categores, add recurring income, expenses as well as transfers between accounts. It has a rollover budget feature which I Bear Money did not have. I hope they add more features in the future and continue to make this excellent product.
Best Money Manager App Yet
I have tried more than a few apps to keep track of my expenses and have finally found the perfect one. No, you can't tap one button and get your information uploaded from your bank, but I tried doing it that way with the "Mint" app and didn't like it. I like entering my own expenses how I want under whichever category fits best. The one thing I would ask to see on this app is the ability to enter SPLIT transactions. When I go to Wal-Mart, it's not necessarily all groceries that I buy, so I need to be able to split the one purchase into multiple categories. But, I'm willing to wait for that. This is simply the best app. Easy to use but covers everything you need.
Excellent Layout, look, & Functionality
I have just downloaded this application and set up multiple categories as well as modified some existing ones and I have to say, NICELY DONE! I have a side computer business but even if you don't, this application can keep track of your personal expenses as well. I checked out a few other expense-tracking applications and by far, this one has the nicest, cleanest front-end layout and is one of the more simpler to use. The only thing I wish they would change is the ability to type in landscape mode instead of just portrait. Other than that, this application is great and if you have any need to keep track of your expenses (and these days, who doesn't), this app is for YOU!
Such huge potential! Alas, ignored
I bought the app and have used it, setting up most of our accounts on both our phones.
The app is beautiful, has the level of detail and variety of accounts built in, and makes entry almost effortless. I've bought the app and used it
The only concern is the rarity of a single person in the household who spends all the money.
The addition of an online/wifi/cellular sync between devices would make this the perfect personal finance/budgeting and money management tool. Alas, the app developer has told me there is no such improvement being considered or planned.
If you are financially single, grab this app! If you have more than one spender in the household, keep looking.
Good, but takes some getting used to
This has everything you need except for clear directions. But, if you look and read the FAQs you can figure it out.
At first I thought I could only use the pre-loaded categories. Then when I went to the FAQ page, I found that you can add any number of categories, personalize/name them and sub-categorize. All you have to do is click on the "edit" function, then click on the "+" button on the upper left corner.
Very simple, but you do have to do some research. Also, (for the reviewer who said there is not a balance shown) there is a running total of "net worth" if you just tap on the white account FLAG on the home page.
The directions, definitely need some clarification, but its a good app.
Fabulous!
I absolutely love this app! It's really changing my financial life! I've wanted to track my spending for years & the ease and elegance of this app is actually getting me to do it. It makes it fun!
I also appreciate how flexible the app is. I am a freelancer. I can track multiple sources of income with ease. I can input individual jobs, whether I make $2 or $200. Also, being able to define my own categories & subcategories of expenses (& income sources) is a huge plus.
I also appreciate that it doesn't require you to create budgets before being able to track spending, like some other apps do. I want to see what I'm already spending on things before deciding how much I want to budget for each category.
Awesome app!
Love it
I love this app. I love that it allows you:
-to keep multiple accounts,
-to move your money from one account to another, like in real life,
-to personalize by choosing an icon for expense categories
-to not only track money, but budget it too.
-to choose the currency my money is in.
There are only two reasons I give it four stars, and not five.
1. It would be great if I could keep my accounts in different currencies. Right now, they all have to remain in the same currency, and that is a bit limiting, as I travel often. I'd love to be able to switch between dollars and rubles and euros.
2. I love that I can view my recent transactions, but this feature would be even better if I can switch the order in witch I view them. To be able to toggle between category, amount or time would be great.
Fantastic: Cant expect anything better !
The most used app on my iPhone, an app which I love using. The interface is beautiful and the graphs meaningful.
As for the functionality, transaction entry is fast, has a built in calculator, fully customizable categories and accounts, summary at a glance, and what not. Everything so nicely laid out that you will be glad you have this app.
The best thing I like about this app is the ease of use. I was first attracted to it by the screen shot of the first screen. With very high expectations I downloaded it and it always lived up to my expectations.
Even at $2.99, I think it was great bargain. The best money I ever spent on an app (this one actually helps me save money). I know that current price is lower, but, I still don’t regret the money I paid for it. I recommended it to at least a dozen of my friends.
Go ahead get this one !
Terrific Budgeting/Expense app
I love this app...enough to write a review, so that's saying something!
User Friendly-no struggling to edit entries.
Straightforward-You don't need a user manual to figure out how the thing works! I had other apps that would deduct from a balance no matter what I tried, when I was trying to make a deposit or alter a starting balance.
Pleasant to View-This is big for me. I don't need something flashy but the colors help to distinguish different categories or functions. This makes it easier to use and makes me want to use it!
I highly recommend this app. I can dump my online subscription based budget software and use this on the go.
It stores previous months' data too and will allow rollover of balances or budget amounts (if you don't use all of a particular category, such as for car repair).
I'm glad I found this one! After trying 6-8 others, paid and free.
The BEST Budget & Expense App EVER!
I love, love, love, this app! This should be on the top of the App Store List. Most budget apps cater to only one account. I have multiple accounts that I purchase items from. Everything is working perfectly. I'm just wondering when I type in the amounts there is no clicking sound on the calculator screen however, there is clicking sounds on the rest of the app screens. Is this correct? Will you be adding a clicking sound to the calculator screen section? I don't really care much, it just helps me tell if I typed in the numbers or not without looking. I am so happy I found this app- it's been a life saver! I enjoy logging in my receipts and paying my bills now because of this app. And I have been researching and purchasing so many budgeting apps that didn't have it all. This app has it all. And it syncs seamlessly with my iPad. I'm tickled pink! I just love it.

Exactly what I was looking for
Easily one of the most useful apps on my phone. I like being able to manually manage multiple accounts and export my backups. I also had no need or desire to link my cards with the app as other trackers recommend. I find keeping a running record of finances myself to be worthwhile and that it keeps me more mindful of my spending and saving habits. Plus, the one time I had a question about Expensense and emailed the developer I received a response the next day with exactly the information I needed--nice when that happens (and the reason I'm taking a moment to write a review).
Other notes: Expensense isn't the "prettiest" app around in terms of iOS7 design and that's fine by me. No razor thin or barely visible text here, just function.
Bottom line: If you're in the market for a convenient and easy to use app for managing your finances, I can't recommend Expensense highly enough!
Best Budget App!
Reasons why this app rocks:
1. Easy to use - large font, large icons, clear interface
2. Can create a budget- many apps just track expenses and that's not enough. Even though you can't predict the future, it's good to do your best to plan for it.
3. Monitor spending- graphics easily display where you are in your budget and if you exceed spending in any area
4. You can create categories AND subcategories! With such flexibility, you can have a category like food, but have areas to differentiate groceries, eating out, work lunches, etc
5. Can set up multiple accounts (checking,savings,cash)- thus your app matches your bank account to the penny.
6. Can set up repeating expenses and incomes
7. Can set up "carry over" or not- this is huge. I like having each budget start new each month and it's nice to disable the carry over feature.
8. No expensive monthly/ recurring fees
This is my 2nd review I put on this app...well worth the $
Nice apps but need something extra
I have been using this apps for couple months in USA. Nice apps using at one place. But last month when I travel back to hong kong, I cannot add another account in other currency than the US dollars I set for my other accounts. So I have to pretend that account is in HK dollars and manually transfer all spending back to US dollars after I came back to USA. It my accounts end up in difference of couple hundreds US dollars. I have to do an update balance for it.
So my suggestion is to be able to add accounts with different user-defined currency instead of the pre-defined currency for all accounts. It would be great if I can just enter my spending in HK dollars and this apps automatically exchange it into my default currency. So my spending will be accurate. I just don't know if this is doable. But hopefully some days later it will happen. Anyway, this apps helps a lot anyway. I don't need to count my wallet and I already know how much cash I have.
Small Business Entrepreneur
Love this app! Excellent for people who hate to track numbers. Perfect for creative types with ADD... People who can't sit still and put receipts into an ugly spreadsheet... But who don't mind entering one receipt at a time on the fly, into an app that is attractive and fun. (Seriously, organizing numbers has never been so fun and easy.)
For usability and functionality, it's totally customizable, fully featured, powerful but simple to use. I've been using it for months.
I had one concern which I expressed to the developer, which was the need to be able to backup your info. He responded quickly and agreed with me. A few months later, the backup feature is now up and running! As he said, "Sometimes your information on your phone is worth more than your phone."
I may actually get my tax info to my accountant on time this year!
Functionality: 5
Usability: 5
Attractive Environment: 5
Customer Service: 5
BTW: I've never written an app review before.

Separate ipad/iphone versions
Blatant money grab. If you buy the iPad version, then why does the dev need to get paid again because you would like to carry it on your phone?
New update
The new update screwed everything up! Can't add expenses and the calendar is all messed up! Love the app I use it everyday please fix a.s.a.p. please.
Needs an update
I just started tracking my expenses again and was about to get a monthly total but the new os came out and now I can't record anything at all because it crashes. Update ASAP please!
What the hell?
Can you really not upload your account info straight from your bank? Do you really have to put in every expense and do everything yourself? Real helpful app! Worst $2 I've ever spent!
Almost Perfect
The only thing missing is the ability to have a foreign currency account with auto update like "Pocket Money". I like the simplicity of this app but am not using it because it is not complete
Multi user -icloud and receipts scanner
I have asked for receipt picture storing more than a year back but nothing
Also it is must to allow 2 users to add simultaneously using their own phones
Sharing and multi user required
iCloud ?
Bug
There is a bug in the last update. The banner of “Amount” covers the calculator, and the balance of the accounts doesn’t change when adding an expense unless you close the app and open it again. Bad update.
Not Easy Enough
This is a nice app, but definitely not the best. It takes too many taps to add a transaction! There's no autocomplete for frequent transactions, and there's not even a field for merchant or payee name. Glad I got it half priced!
Need to update for iOS 7
I've been using this app for a couple months now and I love it. I stopped using my excel budget because this one has everything I need. Only thing I don't like is that it requires subcategories. I don't need one of those all the time.
The latest update has issues
Before the latest update the app’s look was fine. Now it doesn’t display correctly on my IPhone 12 Max Pro. Especially when you are using the calculator interface. The header is difficult to read also. Please push out an update soon or revert it back to the old version.
Doesn't work with iOS7
Great app. I use it everyday. I recommend it to everyone but ever since I've updated to the iOS7 it shuts down when I try to enter and expense or and income. I would really love to see a fix ASAP because I don't want to go back to the Stone Age and write down all my expenses.
Update broke the look
I like it but the last update shifted the view and now The new update does not display correctly on iphone 7 especially the calculator options (add expense etc). Its too small for the screen.
Also the month headings are hard to read on the Reports options.
Device : iPhone
iOS version : 14.2
Too hard to figure out
Trying to get better about keeping track of finances. This one leaves you hanging after purchase. No tutorial or direction. Couldn't get recurring expenses to show up. Waste of money. Now I'm going to try and find something free. Beware of purchasing. Not good for people new to finance or budgets.
Update needed! Don't buy until iOS 7 update
Great app, I use it daily and really rely on it for tracking purchases and my budget. However, I'm very disappointed that an update for iOS 7 hasn't come yet. This is important enough that I would consider looking at other apps and can't recommend ExpenSense until they update. If they don't soon they will be losing another customer.
Doesn't work
Upgraded from the light version which worked great, unfortunately all of the recent reviews were correct. THIS VERSION DOES NOT WORK. If you have a previous version, DO NOT UPGRADE. Do not purchase until it is fixed. It's a great app if working, but completely useless the way it currently is. Please fix this excellent app and make us all happy campers.
Need real-time data! Real-time Networth/ accounts info
Along with Accounts/ Networth there needs to be a current. I input all of my monthly income which gives me s over all total but currently this pay period/ or to date I'm -$10 negative but the over all total does not reflect this. It reflects the over-all total/ Networth which is no good for real-time budgeting. Please fix or add a feature. Even in reports there's no way to get actual real-time totals.
Doesn't seem to work
I bought this for my iPad two minutes ago based on customer reviews. Most iPhone apps work for the iPad but just show up smaller. This one started with no tutorial or instructional walk through. Most options (like setting passcode) completely don't work. I have no idea where to begin. And, for someone obviously trying to start budgeting better, I'm afraid I just wasted $3.
I'm shocked that no one else has mentioned this on here yet.
Mostly bad, falsely advertised
- Poor interface (budget button is practically hidden)
- Decimal point must be entered every time
- Too long/complicated to enter transactions
- FALSE ADVERTISING: There is NO bill tracker. There is support for recurring transactions, but nowhere to just keep track of and pay bills.
- Only monthly reports available - no yearly, quarterly, etc
- Poor date entry
I wish there was a free version I could have tested before wasting two dollars.
