Question - Is it possible to purchase Cloverleaf tinned skinless boneless pink salmon (142g or 150g) in bulk at a reduced price?
Circumstances – NOTE: Please read this entire section to understand the background and nature of my question and inquiry. Thank you.
I originally posed the above question and information directly to Cloverleaf who replied that they are not set up to sell directly to the public and said that their products are sold in stores across the country. We have purchased these products at the Food Basics store in Keswick, ON where we live. This question and document was then sent twice to our local store using the form online and we received no reply. In speaking verbally with the Assistant Manager of the store, we were advised that product shipments are governed by Head Office and not the local store. As such, I am now sending this to you for review and reply.
I am reaching out to you on behalf of my eight-year old grandson Max. Max was born with an extremely rare genetic condition that has left him totally paralyzed with only slight movement in his eyes and mouth. Max is non-verbal, G-tube fed and is subject to seizures. Max's health is very complex and he is monitored by a specialized multi-discipline care team at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.
In addition to requiring a specific regiment of different medications, Max has also been placed on a very strict Keto diet by his doctors to help control his seizures. In this regard, Max can only eat two types of meals - both blended with very specific quantities of certain vegetables measured to the gram. One of the two meals is salmon and the second is chicken. The meals are prepared and blended at their home in Keswick by his mother (my daughter) and then frozen in mason jars for daily consumption.
In terms of salmon, skinless and boneless pink salmon is preferred for ease of preparation. In preparing salmon meals for one day, 221.7g of drained salmon is required; thereby requiring three tins of either the 142g flaked pink salmon or 150g chunked pink salmon per day. To express this a bit differently, my daughter must purchase 90 tins of salmon per month to cover Max's Keto Diet needs. This quantity of salmon is obviously quite costly, which has led me to seek your help by posing the question above.
I would sincerely appreciate any comments or possible options you might suggest as a way of providing the quantity of salmon needed to feed Max in bulk at a lesser cost. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Kind regards,
Michael Davy
