I ordered groceries yesterday around 4:30 for pickup today using the Food Lion To Go, not the Instacart! My pickup time was 8-9 a.m. Sunday morning. I got there at 8:55 and called the # posted. The manager, Amy, answered the phone and said she would sent my groceries right out. 20 minutes later, I called the number again. Amy, again. Said she had forgotten to have them sent out. 5 minutes later she comes out to my car and says that since my grandson was "the only shopper" working Saturday night, the groceries had not been pulled yet. She said she didn't have any "shoppers" on until 9 a.m. and I told her I had ordered the groceries at 4:30 or so yesterday. By this time, I am, once again, totally pissed...non-trusting...and done with ANYTHING to do with Food Lion. I told her to cancel the order and refund the money to my card, to which she said it would take 3-4 days for the money to be refunded. Sure didn't take that long to take the money out, even tho groceries had not been pulled yet and therefore no knowledge if they may have been out of something or whatever.
This is not the first time I have had issues with this store, and both times it was Amy that was the manager that didn't perform her duties.
My housemate, Ms. Blakely, also had an issue with this store earlier this week. She is handicapped and sat in her vehicle for over an hour, just trying to get ANYONE to even answer the phone. She finally got someone on the phone and was treated so disrespectfully, by another manager, "Special". The person that answered the phone, was rude so Debbie asked to speak to a manager. The phone was laid on the countertop and she heard the person say "you need to take this call". A young man answered and she again went thru the issue. This young man was extremely nice, professional, polite - couldn't have asked for anyone better. His name is Jayden. When Debbie asked to speak to the manager, she ended up talking to Special. Downright rude, hateful, sarcastic and hateful person.
This store really needs a complete over-haul. I have lived 1 mile from this store for over 10 years and have shopped there every since I moved here. I can promise you now tho, I will not shop at this store again as long as either of these managers are still working there. I will make sure this situation is posted on Facebook, Twitter and any other social media I can get someone to put it on.
Horrible, disrespectful, rude, lazy customer service staff and managers!
