Ford should be jailed for this scam esp extended warranty. I bought a brand new 2008 f - 150 during that year. At the time, I told the salesmen I intended to keep this truck a long time. He talked me into the esp and maintenance package and rust proofing and all along assured me that for 5 years, the only thing out of my pocket would be the monthly payment and gas. I have gotten my truck serviced every 8000 at the dealer. My truck now has 67000km on it and last week, the steering shaft broke on it. Apparently a full sized pickup designed for offroad capabilities can't handle round town regular driving. To my surprise, the dealer told me I would have to pay $600 to get my truck back and that my part wasnt covered under esp. I looked at my brochure which clearly states steering linkages are covered, but still they wouldnt cover it. This is fraudulent. I gave them $2000 for a useless extended warranty and am still paying for repairs. How can they get away with this. Since last week, I have heard so many similar stories from others. It's all bad enough that these trucks are having such major issues with so few kms. One guy sitting next to me at work had his tranny go at 64000 and another had his engine go at 67000. Those guys were lucky to be covered under drivetrain, but still had a runaround to get repairs. Fords are literally disposable trucks sold cheap with the intent that the buyer will always buy a new one every 3 years. Dont even get me started on the resale value on the [censor] thing, after last week, I put it up for sale for less than book value and I have not so much as had a nudge. I will never buy a pos ford again. And I will be sure to tell all friends, coworkers and family to never buy one.

purchased a used 2009 ford truck from local dealer in 2012 had 41k miles on it now has 46k on it. Bought the premeire warranty. A month ago heard a ticking noise under hood and took it to dealer within an hour. They told me they would diagnose problem for 100.00 and then to tear into motor would cost 1400.00 if the problems are not covered under warranty it would be my costs. Two weeks later they called to tell me that my oil filter that they had installed came apart and blocked an orifice feeding oil to my motor causing problem. In their warranty a part that is not covered causes a problem with a part that is covered they dont have to honor warranty. So a part that they installed caused my problem and they dont have to honor warranty. Is this the most insane thing you ever heard of? Ford warranties are a joke. Dont buy a Ford warranty, better yet DONT BUY A FORD!

HERES AN UPDATED PROBLEM WITH FORD'S ESP. I BOUGHT A 2007 SHELBY GT500 WITH 64000 + OR - BACK IN AUGUST. PURCHASED A FORD ESP WITH A MAINTENANCE SERVICE PACKAGE 3YR OR 48000 MILES. COST ME BACK $1965. HAD VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION PERFORMED (PASS WITH FLYING COLORS) WITH DOCUMENT PROVIDED BY SELLING ESP DEALER, FAXED IN ALL DOCUMENTS AND 4 DAYS LATER, GOT OUR ESP SERVICE CONTRACT. UNFORTUNATELY 2 WEEKS AFTER ESP WAS APPROVED, MY 2ND GEAR SYNCRO WENT BAD. BROUGHT TO FORD FOR REPAIRS. AFTER 2 WEEKS OF WAITING, FORD ADVISED ME THE MY ESP DECLINED MY REPAIRS. THEY SAID THAT I ONLY PUT ABOUT 500 MILES BEFORE IT WENT BAD AND AGREED IT WAS EXISTING PROBLEM. WOULDNT YOU THINK THAT WOULDVE BEEN NOTED DURING THE SAFETY INSPECTION. NOTE TO FORD ESP...WE PURCHASE ESP FOR THE PEACE OF MIND AND THE UNEXPECTED REPAIRS YOU CROOKS... AND NOW THEIR TELLING ME ITS THE DEALER THAT SOLD ME THE ESP IS AT FAULT NOW...DATES WRONG...THIS AND THAT...HAY PENCIL PUSHERS...HONOR WHAT YOUR GUYS PREECH...

I bought a 2009 Ford Mustang GT in April 2014 at Bill Kay Ford. They sold me a ESP Service contract for $1550.00 and a Gap insurance for $700.00. We traded the car in for a new car in September 2014.
Total cost of $2250.00
I cancelled everything after only 5 months and I am only getting a refund of $808.00 for ESP and 596.00 from gap which I am still waiting to receive. All funds were sent back to the dealer on October 17th 2014 but they are still waiting to send it out to me.

I bought a used scion TC from a lincoln dealer in syracuse, NY. The guy talked me into buying the Ford Lincoln extended service plan. What a crock and waste of money! I tried using the warranty recently for my front brake calipers seizing up and all though the brochure says they are covered, the company denied me saying in the fine print under section 7 it says if its due to corrosion, they wont cover it! That when the brake pads have been replaced, the pins haven't been greased which causes rust! WTF!? I haven't even had it a whole year, so it was corroded when I got it, that's my fault? Good job with all the loopholes and fine print Ford Lincoln warranty scammers! I also wouldn't recommend buying from Lincoln in syracuse either!

I have had totally positive results with my ESP premium care, my 2011 F-350 has had a few issues that would have cost me thousands of dollars, I'm very happy I purchased my 3100.00 plan, my out of pocket deductibles have been 300, repairs would have been well over 7000 dollars, so, I'm glad I had it. It paid for itself in my case. If you get a diesel truck, buy the plan.

I 100% agree with the complaintants disgust with Ford.

Bought a "USED" 2009 F150 from HUB City in Crestview FL on 20 April 2010 with 11, 356 miles on it. When the sales team broached the subject of purchasing the $2170.00 (actually $2300.20 w/tax) Extended Service Plan (ESP) I initially turned it down but then changed my mind when the HUB CITY FORD CROOKS assured me the ESP investment would "cover my vehicle for 60 months or 100, 000..." The HUB CITY FORD CROOKS led me to believe the "60 months or 100, 000 miles..." ESP coverage would begin upon my 20 APRIL 2010 "Signature Date" on the FORD ESP-8240 form pre-filled in by the HUB CITY FORD CROOKS Finance Dept.

The CROOKS of HUB CITY FORD in my opinion, intentionally left blank the "Warranty Start Date" section of the ESP-8240 form along with Sections B "Type of New Plan" and deliberately focused my attention to Section D "Cover Term and Cost" which stated I was purchasing 60 months or 100K mile coverage and after I signed the document then took my paperwork and "hand wrote" without my knowledge the "in service aka; Warranty Start Date" of 9 April 2009 which effectively made me loose 12 months of coverage.

I have argued with the HUB CITY FORD CROOKS as well as with FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE via CAS# 5720789 & 5741288 the information entered into Ford Extended Service Plan System via UNETHICAL HUB CITY FORD staffing needs to be changed providing me "true" 60-month ESP coverage as that is what I was sold. Apparently FORD and their respective Independent Ford Dealership (in my case CROOKED HUB CITY FORD) has gotten pretty good at using circular logic and various work symantics to coax unsuspecting consumers into purchasing their ESP plans WITHOUT FULLY DISCLOSING THE ENTIRE FACTS, TERMS, & CONDITIONS of the FORD ESP.

The CROOKS OF HUB CITY FORD have severaly tarnished the Ford brand name and never again shall I purchase a Ford product. As other commentors have stated, I'll be sure to tell and my family and friends to avoid Ford as well.

I was considering the purchase of the Ford PremiunCare program but after reading all the complaints about the program I have decided to take my chances and hopefully nothing will go wrong until after I trade it in. Thanks everyone for the headsup. The only reason I stick with Ford is because they did not take the bailout proposed by Obama and all the recalls the GM products have had.

The warranty is a sham. My 2011 F150 starts having issues, feels like transmission or plugs but I can't tell. When I request to take it in and a loner vehicle they tell me that if its not covered it would be my responsibility to pay for rental. When asked how would you know, they tell me I just have to risk it. Come to find, I know shocker, its not covered. Cracked sparkplugs and bad coils are out of scope of the warranty. Now I not only have to foot the bill of the plug/coil replacement, I have to pay for rental. Can't believe I fell for their marketing. Worst investment I have ever made!

I've had an engine replaced (not rebuilt - a brand new crate engine) in a 2010 Ford Expedition because of a spark plug issue (this was a recall on the truck). My cost for this? $100. I had my 5.4 V8 triton blow a plug (not torqued properly as others were off) but this F350 was only dealer serviced. They did not do a coil, they replaced the engine. Again, my cost $100. Life happens, any warranty is only good when you go to use it, just like auto insurance. Most cases that call this a 'scam' probably don't have their facts straight. Sometimes misuse can cause a part to fail, that is clearly out of the warranty. Keep your car maintained, keep the records and you'll be in good shape. If you want the risk of paying for repairs then go for it, I find value in paying upfront for coverage.

I am wondering why Humbill would be on the complaint page of a product for which he has nothing but good things to say.

Seems aweful fishy. These people are currently screwing me around right now. Will update when the whole thing is done

I have read all of the reasons why an extended warranty is not a good investment, but when I bought my 2010 Ford Expedition Limited new in 2009, I felt that $1, 165 for a 6 year, 75, 000 (ZERO deductible) ESP warranty was a good investment considering the vehicle is loaded and was $48, 500. I still have 8 months left on the warranty and it has more than paid for itself already. The first repair under the extended warranty was the passenger side heated seat that quit working. Note that repair costs are not on the repair invoice given to me after the repair. The total cost always shows ($ 0 ). Quite by accident because they screwed up, I found out the heated seat repair was $600+. The next repair under the ESP was the passenger side power window regulator (typically $250-$300). The next repair was an A/C "O" ring and 2 A/C hoses. I'm guessing that along with a recharge ($200) would be a total of about $700-$800. Next up is the driver side window regulator ($250-$300). This past week I found out I need another A/C hose (on order). Not as involved as the previous A/C repair so I'll guess in the $350 range plus the $200 recharge. The bottom line is that an $1, 165 warranty saved me over $1, 300 in repairs ($2, 500) with 8 months still to go. The experts can say all they want about extended warranties being a bad investment but I will never own another vehicle with out one.

I guess I will soon find out if I will be a satisfied or unsatisfied ESP customer. My 2012 Explorer broke down on me in Iowa, 290 miles from home. It being late Saturday evening the dealership had closed for the weekend. Out of the five car rental agencies I called none was able to provide me with a car. I spent the night at the Holiday Inn Express and took Amtrak home the next day. When checking on my vehicle that Monday I was informed that my transmission had sustained extensive damage due to its fluid level being four quarts low. Well, how could that be? Only, nine days prior to the brake down, my vehicle received a major PMI during which time the transmission was changed. This occurred at my local dealership. Who is at fault? Its been ten days now and they are still waiting on a Ford representative to a inspect the transmission and approve cost. I'm hoping to walk/drive away as a satisfied customer. At this point I must remain neutral.

I don't see how this wouldn't be covered even without an ESP. You just had the PMI done so obviously the mechanic didn't fill the transmission to the proper level. Unless you have a huge leak that should have been noticeable at the PMI, there is only one way that they should decide. Let us know how things work out.

Anyone who has had a positive experience, has not had a problem getting something fixed under warranty. I too would be positive right now if they had fixed the problem.

1. 2011 Explorer taken to Keystone Ford, PA for an oil problem and navigation problem, wrong street, wrong direction, driving through the field next to the road. Fixed the oil problem and said they looked at the nav sys as a courtesy, I didn't need their courtesy it was covered under the extended warranty.

2. Back for the Nav sys same problem and told them from the beginning it was intermittent. They replaced the map chip and checked the system because the updated the sync on the first visit. Billed almost $300 $149 map chip and $140 to plug it in, software is not covered. I told them I didn't need new maps it was getting lost on the old maps. I was right.

3. Back again, they wanted to clear the system and reinstall, no charge no paperwork.

4. Back again, they ordered a GPS module, installed it and handed me a bill for $85 for the part, they said it would be cheaper than paying another deductible. I said I paid the deductible back in Nov. This all took place between Nov and Mar 2015.

I called the GM of Keystone, Customer Service, Regional Managers, then I found emails for Corp. on the internet. Within two days I received a phone call. Now it took two email too and two phone calls from Corp for it to sink in, but this is what they told me, the dealer could have charged me $100 deductible every time I took it in for repairs and the dealer doesn't have to fix it. They didn't mine, I think it is better but there is still the same problem sometimes no street listed. That's just wrong. I guess my thinking comes from to many years of working with local shops, if they didn't fix something they made it right.

My complaint is a little different, in that I have had a reasonably ok experience with the ESP and maintainance package, my complaint is about the "start" and "end" Dates of the contract.
I purchased a 2011 Expedition on 6/27/2012 and purchased an extended just recently was looking at my contract for what was covered etc., when I notice ice that the start date and the purchase date were different, the purchase date was the date I signed the contract 6/27/2012, but the start date was 6/21/2011 almost a year after the purchase.
When I read section D of the contract it reads, this coverage starts on the date sign and the mileage noted which was 14983miles .the coverage is for 72 months and 100000 miles but the expiration date is 6/27/2017 a full year earlier than 72 months from 6/27/2012.when I called Ford I got nothing but I understand sir but the coverage started when the vehicle went into service on 6/21/2011, which means I paid for coverage while someone else owned the car, spoke with 2 different reps and was offered a 3rd with no resolve, it's like buying life insurance after you are dead, I will be speaking to an attorney this week will keep everything posted signed frustrated and ripped.

I will never again buy a Ford. I purchased a 2014 Ford Fusion and in the first 2 years have taken it in over 5 times under is initial warranty which they've somehow managed to always state "nothing is wrong" with the vehicle. EVERYTHING is wrong with the vehicle! It blows out white smoke from the exhaust, the coolant was completely empty yet they stated it doesn't have a leak, my trunk opens and the seats move by themselves WHILE the vehicle is off! the car shakes on idle. mind you every time I've taken the vehicle in to be checked it is returned damaged... I changed a tire they didn't tighten the lug nuts! I didn't notice until my car shook uncontrollably on the expressway, they bent my grill while running the pressure test for the coolant leak, and ruined my subwoofer connection as well messing with the wires. My warranty is about to expire and I would NOT purchase extended warranty even though the car is a ticking time bomb. FORD IS GARBAGE and I should've listened to the hundreds that warned me throughout my life. It's getting traded in even if I lose thousands. JUST GARBAGE!

I can totally agree as to Ford Extended Warranty rip off I have a 2012 F350 FX 4x4 off road package with 96k KLMs, today my rear wheel starts to smoke and smells like brakes are burning up, long story short the rubber boot on the caliper failed (ripped) which apparently jamb in the brakes which ended up taking out the rotor brakes and caliper . My service adviser at the dealer I brought the truck tells me that Ford will not warranty it as it failed due to a outside source, even they cant believe it . What does Ford sell trucks for if you cannot drive them off road when needed or in a area were paved roads are scarce . Putting it simple the boot failed and so did Ford I am 68 years old and always kept every Ford I owned serviced as required including my wife Lincoln MKX . You can bet this is the last Ford I will ever buy again Fords extended warranty is a joke .

Ok, I know a Ford Fiesta is not at the top of the range as far as cars go, but it still cost me a lot of money and what do I get? The car leaks water as soon as there is a drop of rain. I may as well drive a convertable with the roof down!

My dealer has had the car back in at least ten times now and each time they say the problem is fixed, but it never is.

I want Ford to take the car back and repay me the money I have spent. It is only six months old!

I wont be buying another car made by them ever.

After buying a new f-150 ford truck, with financing through fireside bank first, ford said the deal was If I were to lose my job in the first year, I could return the vehicle no problem, no damage to credit. I surrendered the vehicle to fireside bank after losing my business.

I was harasses by the repo man-whose phone number. I still have saved in my phone about what’s going to happen to my credit and my life and marriage. If I return the vehicle. He suggested I just get a second job this is after of course three months of trying to surrender the vehicle.

The staff at fireside is by far the worst in customer service threats harassment demands and the rudest behavior toward me on the phone I have ever experienced. That was of course after several months of harassing calls.

Even now after I tell them I am filing bank rupt they call right back four or five times pretending that they think it’s an answering machine etc. I’m about to snap and take the matter into another problem. Please help before I get in trouble over someone else being a [censored]heal and a poor service.

I purchased an 08 escape in january. I've had the car for 2 months and has an engine problem and transmission fluid leak. They told me they would need the car for 5 days. They absolutely would NOT give me a loaner. I explained I have children to get to school and a son with disabilities who needs to take weekly visits to Cambridge. The absolutely could care less. I do not feel they should have given me a hard time when I've had the thig for 2 months. It should not have had big issues like that already!

Purchased ford fiesta in 2008 silver in colour.Had silver overspray on wipers on date of delivery and touch up paint between the panel joints.Took 2 days to replace non overspray wiper. Within the first week we found that the wheels are noisy when driving at 120km.Taken to Supa Quick and were told that the rear rims are buckled and need to be repaired, when we confronted Ford they informed me that i had driven up a pavement or something, amazing only the rear rims were damaged while driving forward. As to the overspray! Its 4 years later and still no explanation, call centre a joke. Now 4 years down the line the battery packs up and i confronted Ford to help, they did by jumpstarting my car.2 weeks later the battery finally gives in and i replace with another. Then suddenly the car breaks down and was told by Ford they need to reprogram computor box because battery was replaced, which i did then Ford came back to me telling me because i replaced the battery the computor box packed up and also the fact that it was jump started by Ford in the first place caused this.In all this me the customer is paying for their ignorance. Then the front radiator rubbers packs up and i requested new ones which across this country no one has only on order. Then because of the rubbers givng in the fan fuse continiously burns and in that the car overheats.Finding these simple parts(fuse/rubbers) has now caused my car fan to break down and this becomes the customers problem.Ford does not care about the customer only how much they can make.I have been stuck with this rubbish(due to finance) for 4 years and no one can even explain to me why a 16 inch rim that the Ford Fiesta Titanium is fitted with cannot be replaced or carry any other tyre size that will compensate for the poor quality of their rims.Meanwhile i had to sell them due getting them repaired to many times. This is our 1st Ford and in all fairness i will go out of my way and inform people of my experience with the product and service. And the most amazing part of all this, when you complain and have an expectation from your dealership and the product, you the customer becomes the one who is becomming a problem to them.

I have a 2008 F-350 Dually Diesel with less than 50, 000 miles. Last year I had to have the Oil Cooler replaced that was covered. Since then I have had to pay to have both of the Bateries replaced. Also the Solenoid for the four wheel drive unit had to be replaced. Today I took the truck in to be re-flashed (recall). They found the Radiator has a crack in it. It will have to be replaced because it is plastic. What you could once repair now is bad. After looking around this truck it has alot of plastic. I have a hard time understanding why they cost us so much if they are plastic. If Ford is going to make a throw away truck it should last aleast last 100, 000 miles. This truck is costing us a large amount of money on thing we shouldn't have to be buying with less than 50, 000 miles. Thanks for reading this!

I had bought brand new F-150 crew cab in 2011. It started giving problems within weeks and would stall suddenly on highway coming to a dead stop without control. This was a very dangerous safety issue. i called Ford dealer who said he could not give immediate appointment. I somehow took it to them and after check up said everythingw was OK. I went to them at least 6 times for the new truck and in the end after a prolonged waste of time they found multiple sensor failure which was inherent in brand new truck. I felt cheated that I was driving a lemon which had a mnaufacturing defect. This truck took long time to get heated up. Depsite keeping it on for an hour, it would not create heat and only aftre driving for 10-15 km, it would start to generate some heat. I ahd shown it to same dealer on Sheppard Av, near McCowan Rd, but as usual they said everything was right as if we are fools to go and wate time at tehir dealership. What use is a new truck that does not get heated up? Then I was told that it is very good on gas. It has never given me more than 4-5 km to a litre, and this issue was alos never solved by Ford dealer. I called customer service of Ford but they were useless and then I wrote to CEO fo Ford Canada asking to replace the vehicle. She NEVER replied as if shamelessly heading a company. This company is complacent about its product and does not care. It has huge margins (15, 000) on this truck and the company does not care about dissatisfied customer. One could omagine as to why CEo of a company won't respond.

Why should I help bail out your inferior company?Over the years we have bought your substandard units to have the paint to fall off and never know if we make back home. Why do you overpay incompetent officials, produce unsafe units, employ workers that drink, use drugs and sleep on the job?
Due to the afore mentioned problems we now drive multiple TOYOTAS and will continue until you can change your so called standards!

The Interior of my 2006 Ford F150 has been non resistant to water stains since the date of purchase. sweat from a glass or rain water will produce stating throughout the interior that have to be professionally removed. Additionally, the truck has been hard to start from the factory. Often it takes three turn overs of the ignition to finally crank. When relating this to my service manager at Jarret Ford his comments where "Yep, we know about that and its a common complaint from our customers and Ford knows about it".

I had numerous problems since the day I have purchased my brand new Ford Figo at the Imperial Ford and Mazda Garage in Germiston. My car went in for its first 20 000km service and when I got my car back someone has drivin into something and scratched the paint off my bumper. No one told me and as I picked up my car to go to the shop I saw there was the scratch. I phoned the garage just there and then, and told them im on my way back. The manager came out and PROMISED me he will fix the problem and give me a call Tuesday or Wednesday to drop off a loan car. THURSDAY afternoon a lady at the garage phoned me to tell me there is no cars yet to loan to me. The manager didnt even have the decensy to contact me himself. I am very unhappy and I want my car fixed but not at the Germiston branch because everytime I go there I have MORE problems. I wish I have never bought a car by Ford, as they cant keep a paying client happy. I give up. Please someone contact me with a solution. BRAND NEW CAR BEING SCRATCHED and I was not even the fault. I had my window rubber replaced 3 times... i had my inside fitting broken off, and not fixed. My car got flooded and they treated me like I was an idiot and my central locking broke. Take this piece of rubish back. I would rather drive a Uno 2nd Hand or a carton box!

2010 F150 purchased new with supposed 36k warranty. At mileage 34205, local dealer diagnosed a hose failure that lost coolant. Said it was covered but parts not available, had to be ordered. We're leaving town next day for summer 1050 miles away. They give me a work order stating date, mileage, diagnosis, part number, etc. We travel to destination in very hot weather. Mileage is very close to 36k. Local Ford dealer there has left town, nearest dealer is 60 miles away. Monday, call distant dealer, can get part tomorrow. Set appointment for Thursday. Call Ford Warranty service. Mileage is now 36005. Will not be covered due to over mileage. This dealer not authorized to honor diagnosis at 34205, must do their own. A/C hose is something like $114.00 plus labor. Warranty Service tells me original dealer 1050 miles away must also perform work, and work must be done before Odo reads 36000.1, and digital pic of this must be submitted. This is my first FMC product since 1962 and will be my last.

We are a family of now 3 Fords. Isn't it nice to purchase a 2010 Ford Mustang for your almost 16 year old... only to receive 2 months later a recall notice (JULY) saying that the, "drivers side airbag can deploy/rupture abnormally... and can result in METAL FRAGMENTS or other materials resulting in serious injury or DEATH.

Wouldn't you feel comfortable with your inexperienced driver, 16 year old daughter, driving this car? I didn't think so... it's sitting in our driveway now for 2 months... and as of today, FORD has no idea when the parts will be shipped and the car will be fixed. She reassured me, that at some point, I'd receive a letter in the US snail mail telling me when they become available. This is unacceptable!

2002 f150 4x4 5.4 Both sides exhaust manifolds b.o ! If you search the web on used ford trucks, all you read is exhaust leak. My truck has 114, 000 miles, i have been a mechanic for 40 plus years! Most exhaust manifolds, last the life of car or truck. I did a e-mail to ford motor company two months ago, never hear from them at all. My truck exhaust manifolds are leaking now, will have to change out both sides. They are just felling apart!

today 26- Feb-2007, we have taken Ford Fiesta, from Mody Ford, Begumpet, Hyderabad, India.
He promised for 7 fuel in new car, but it was only less than 3, and it got struck on road.

Your irresposibility on day one, created a big wrong impression on your company customer service policy.

We were dissopointed about it and we r expecting ur action for this situation

Hi, I have a ford too, not the truck but the focus, same garbage. My car has its transition and clutch changed at about 40, 000 km. Can you believe that? They obviously sold me a lemon car and expect me to buy another one every time I went to the dealer for maintenance. What a ###ed up company?!
