Hello !
I just wanted to tell you my brief story so that other people now about this platform. My account got frozen with my hard earned money still in it and I am asked to provide identity verification, a process that I've succesfully passed the first time. Thing is, my account got frozen after I've finished chatting with the support team on my funds withdrawal issues.
Now they're actually asking me to prove that I own my own paypal account which is ridiculous. If they want the money, they can take it.
I will be staying away from this platform in the future.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and I want to be refunded if possible.

Architectural services
Freelancer.com provides a platform for freelancers and clients to meet up. It is an interesting business and has great potential, however, currently, there are very few safeguards for clients getting preyed upon by scammers.
I recently, proposed a project for MEP house floor plans on Freelancer. The architect I chose had good reviews and looked professional, unfortunately, he was a scammer and wasted my time and walked away with half my money because Freelancer encourages you pay at least $200 upfront and continue to pay more at milestones.
After 8 weeks and no completion of project I set a firm deadline and the architect failed to complete the work and the work he did complete was incorrect.
I filed a dispute and was only able to get half my money back, but even worse I did not get any apologies from Freelancer, nor any further assistance when I complained.
I would not recommend Freelancer to anyone. I am also considering legal recourse.

Poor service for freelancers
I have been using Freelancer.com for approximately 7 months, and I have a successful profile. So far, I have spent close to $900 on this platform. However, I am experiencing issues like the one shown in the image. I have not received my payment for 110 days because the client has not verified their account. I am also unable to contact the client. In this situation, what should I do? If there are security issues, why doesn't Freelancer.com resolve them before I start working with the client?
When I explained the situation to them, I was told, "You can ask the client to verify their account." I am their freelancer, and this should not be my responsibility.
I am not satisfied with the service I have received as a freelancer.
Desired outcome: I request an immediate refund of my funds and a resolution to this issue.

They have closed my account without any reason before 3 days. And I had an ongoing project there and had over $205 I have earned from my client. They said that I did irregular activities but obviously I really didn't do anything against the freelancer rules and tried to keep the terms and conditions. When a client presents misleading information concerning their project and a freelancer accepts (based on these misguiding info) the job at a cheap price, it does not come to one's mind that the client has the right to mark the project incomplete and leave a bad rating, and the freelancer's reply does not even appear on the site!
I contacted Freelancer.com support multiple times, and each time they say they want to contact the client, without avail. If they do not want to remove the client's rating (in order to temper with the rating system as they say), then at least allow my response to appear along the client's review!
This system is heavily biased to the client's favor; and I would discourage anyone from trying to work with Freelancer.com since they do not value the freelancers.
PS: I am a verified freelancer, however, the client does not even his identity verified!

Hi, I have been working on freelancer for a while now. A couple of months back I suggested freelancer.com to a colleague and he asked that I help him set up his account.
This week, I was awarded a gig where I had to cleanse and process a large number of excel files. I hired him to help me with the files. I wake up and find that my account is limited and I have to reverify my account again. I explain everything and send it for review but no one is answering.
I hope someone can contact me to sort this out.

Account limitation cannot withdraw funds
My Freelancer.com account which I created many years ago earlier limited recently as I used my sister's bank account to transfer funds.
Freelancer.com staff contacted me stating that the transfer was unsuccessful and that my account got limited.
The staff asked for re-verification of my identity.
I followed the steps and uploaded my photo holding the code with my identity.
I couldn't contact any one in help center as I'm only allowed to use the "message board" which I have spent days sending messages through it with no response in return from their side!
They stated that they would resolve the issue within 48 hours, and I am still waiting..
I really wish this matter could be resolved quickly since I am working hard by freelancer rules for many years.
The Freelancer.com support team were very cooperative and resolved this matter quickly!

However I did not do anything that is against the Freelancer requirements also i get 2 orders in which i get the money as well. I complete my all projects at time. Account closed holding around 1000$
I was a hard worker on Freelancer.com, and I really love this platform. I was doing my best to make the clients happy with my work, even though there were a lot of toxic clients. But all was good. Sometimes, instead of disputing completed projects with clients who were unsatisfied and unwilling to pay, I chose to decline the milestone and waste my time. I did this to maintain a positive image for the platform and my profile.
After a couple of years of freelancing, some clients released milestone, but one had issues with his account. As a result, my payment got locked, and his account was deleted by the Freelancer staff. He then sent me an email explaining his issues. I continued the work, and upon completing the project, I insisted on dealing with Freelancer. I didn't ask for any additional payment. However, the client created a new account, possibly under a friend's name, and set up a $300 milestone. Unfortunately, this led to my account being limited and the payment locked. I submitted the required verification documents and have been waiting for a response from Freelancer support.
I also forgot to mention that I recently paid around $100 for the Freelancer membership and another $100 to get my account verified. Additionally, some of my clients had released $500 milestone. All of this occurred within a span of 2-4 days. Sadly, my account has been closed today. After being an active member of the platform for a couple of years, consistently delivering high-quality work, receiving great offers, and having numerous satisfied clients, this situation feels incredibly unfair.
Many clients still have pending projects that they rely on me to complete. I've always strived to improve myself and deliver projects of the highest quality, which is why I applied for verification. Yet, despite my efforts, I now find my account closed due to an issue with a client's payment. Is this truly fair? I chose to work on this platform over others because I genuinely liked it from the beginning. I dedicated extra effort and time to my work here, even managing to juggle my time efficiently.

Unauthorized charges/fraudulent schemes
I made 100 euro on my first project milestone with Freelancer. The project owner had to stop the project due to unforeseen circumstances without any dispute. So I bid on a project offering $1200 for 40 hours. Instead of 40 hours we agreed to 10 hours for $400.
When I accepted the project Freelancer took my 100 Euro as a fee (27%) which is a violation of their policy. The support at first wanted to keep the money, but when I mentioned filing a lawsuit (which I am doing now) they said within 48 hours my refund would return.
The very next day after my dispute they restricted my account for violations that were absolutely incredulous and easily disputed, however they still restricted my account disallowing me to make money and still have not returned my 100 Euro.
Desired outcome: I want my 100 Euro returned and I want the 31 Euro that was charged to my card without my permission returned as well. If not, then I will go to the furthest extent of the law.

Story how UNFAIR they work there. I have been working in freelancer.com more than 7 years all my carrier was there. recenlty they added new option to veruft again for freelancers. Yes i woul like to mention that i had statuses rised talant,prefered freelancer.My PF status canacled saying we have new rules as if i must pay about 100$ to get video verifed from their stuff and skills as well.I passed that well and submimted to back my PF status - here starts clownade by them.Asking again send ID scan and Address docs. I do selfie attach scan of id and attach my bank statment so that everything fits together according to all their rules. Passing one they approving my ID but not Bank statment (without clirfying whats wrong) just say abloud another one, OK i go bank (for my oher card) pay Bank fee to get officialy bank statment document in English (as in my country you can get all that free only in Armenian) as freelancer.com does not accept any other language besides "english".I do all that and agai upload it hoping get verified asap, passed 2 days they again rejected my dcoument saying upload another (without explnation what was wrong this time),its kind fo they have fun doing it with freelancers.OK i start writing support asking them please contact relevent team of your and ask them please clarify me what exactly was wrong say me that i can get it and again send,support of course has no clue as alwasy and jjust say upload another.How dumbad must be their stuff sayign that - if i do not know what was wrong with previous one how i acn send another one and again get rejected.Guys turn on your heads stop workign like a stupid bots there.Work FAIR. And so on after 2 days i try to udnerstand whats is wrog i send them emails, creates tickets hoping they say me exactly what is wrong wnad what they need from me.And on they 3rd when i tried to login my account t says Account Closed.Whoever read this in freelancer.com staff if you have a soul not a bot contact me, not be like that UNFAIR guys.You ruin freelancers carried just for your fun and stupid word process.After that i have sent them several emails and none tere even listen my request.

Unauthorized change of corporate account to personal and misappropriation of funds on freelancer.com
I am writing to file a complaint against Freelancer.com, an Australian company. As a shareholder owning 50% of an Armenian company, I am contesting the unauthorized conversion of our corporate account into a personal one on Freelancer.com.
This abrupt change has led to the inappropriate redirection of our company's earnings into a personal account, depriving rightful shareholders of their earnings. Over the years, our account has earned more than 1.1 million dollars, ranking it among the top accounts on Freelancer.com. However, due to this unauthorized change, I have now lost access to all these funds.
This action, I believe, is a breach of Freelancer.com's policies. In 2013, my business partner and I co-founded this company and opened a corporate account on Freelancer.com. Our current share distribution is: I own 50%, and my partner owns 50%.
Starting in 2019, for four years, Freelancer.com made direct payments into our company's business bank account. Recently, without my knowledge or consent, my partner altered this corporate account into a personal one. Consequently, Freelancer.com is now depositing all earnings into this personal account, from which my partner is withholding funds.
I question Freelancer.com's decision to change the account type and redirect funds without obtaining consent from all shareholders.
Given these circumstances, I am seeking legal representation in Australia to address this situation.

Account closed without notice
On 07/20/2023, without any prior notice or warning, I discovered that my Freelancer.com account, registered under the username falaksafi, had been terminated. To my utter disbelief, I was denied access to my account and unable to log in to retrieve essential information, ongoing projects, and funds associated with my account balance.
Despite numerous attempts to contact Freelancer.com's customer support through various channels, including email, phone calls, and their online support portal, I have received no response or acknowledgment of my inquiries. This blatant disregard for communication is unacceptable and has left me feeling defrauded and mistreated.
Furthermore, Freelancer.com has failed to provide any valid reason for the closure of my account. I have been a loyal and active user of the platform for about 5 years, during which I have complied with all the terms and conditions set forth by Freelancer.com. There has been no indication of any violations on my part that would warrant such drastic measures, let alone the complete seizure of my funds.
As a result of this unjustified action, Freelancer.com is currently withholding a substantial amount of my hard-earned money, which includes payments from completed projects, ongoing project milestones, and earnings from active bids. I demand the immediate release and refund of the total amount held in my account, which amounts to $325.
Please be aware that I am prepared to take legal action if Freelancer.com fails to rectify this situation promptly. I have consulted with legal counsel, and their advice supports my claim that Freelancer.com's actions are not only unethical but potentially in violation of consumer protection laws and contractual agreements.
the same thing just happened to me. i got 241 usd in my account, i try to withdraw the money, they said it will be processed at 12 -13 oct, well what do you know in 13 oct 2023 my account suddenly got closed. contacted support, but only giving the template crap "participating is suspicious activities"... 240usd i worth 2.5 month of living expenses for me, and its my only way to earn a living, this is highway robbery

Earned funds locked because of a client issue
I completed a project and spend a lot of hours on it. The milestones got released and the fund were in my account. All of the sudden, Freelancer took the funds out of my account and "locked" them because the client forgot to verify their account. How is that my problem?! I completed the work and got paid, why am I getting punished for a client error?!@
