I was offered a VIP pass for no monthly fees and received a book of coupons.Couple months later I find there is a $9.99 per month and the associate in the store told me, " Well, I don't know why she told you that, so call headquarters and they may or may not refund your money back." All this with an attitude of too bad so sad, we don't know how to apologize.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
No complaints at this time, but would like to cancel membership at this time because of financial reasons.

7/15/71 is the info I am listed under, because I don't have the account number in hand.
Well as I am here looking at the book and see plain as day that it says "Your first month is free and then just $9.99 a month after that. Cancel at any time." (right on the cover.)
I would go with the issue is with you whether you were told or not.
Heck, the $20 gift card gives you 2 free months to basically make up your mind, not to mention the extra coupons inside and all of the offers online that more then make up for the fee.
I stupidly signed up for the EYE VIP pass to get a discount on some CD's I was purchasing. I was told I could cancel before 30 days and not be charged the 9.99 monthly dues.
Well I did just that. Then they charged me for two months in a row. I called and complained and they said they world cancel again. This morning I checked my bank account and they took 9.99 out again ! Don't sign up unless you want to give these people 9.99 per months for life! What a scam.
I have signed up for the card, and cancelled it. So far I have had no problems. If nothing else I was actually suprised to immediately talk to an operator and not a machine.
I signed up for the FYE VIP pass as well. It was Christmas eve, I was in a hurry, and the sales clerk would not shut the hell up about it. There was dozens of people in line, so I signed up, not knowing I was going to be paying $11.99 a month.
I found out this month I was charged $11.99 on my credit card. I called the (800) number and told them what happened. The guy was hard to understand. (Make sure when you call to cancel that you keep saying you want to cancel membership and charge) So when someone is speaking really fast or in a way you can't understand, you don't agree to something that you didn't know you agreed to and get nailed with something else or them continue the charges.
The membership was canceled and they credited ($11.99) back onto my credit card.
Are you serious? This is ridiculous. Like someone else said, it says as clear as day how much the card costs on the pamphlet an employee gives you. And even if an employee DID tell you it was completely free (which I doubt they did), why would you A. Believe you could get 10% off forever, no strings attached?, or B. Not look in the booklet they gave you to make sure the conditions? It's your fault for not listening close enough to the employee, and not checking the conditions of your agreement.
In addition, why would ANOTHER EMPLOYEE have to apologize for another's mistake, assuming the other DID lead you to believe it was completely free? It's pretty obvious you were at least partially at fault here. So cry all you want about losing your money- but don't try and make a good store and a good company look bad because of it.
Well I did pay attention when the sales girl told me about the 30 day trial and $9.99 monthly fee, I can relate to being charged when I shouldn't have been. I knew my 30 day trial would be up at the end of January and since I wasn't using the card and was on bed rest I really just could afford the $9.99 a month on something I didn't use. So I called and canceled it and sat through the 30 minute explaination of how the card could give me such great discounts and how I still had a week left on my free trial so I should keep it. I explained to the girl that I was very sick and had no use for the card and would just like it cancelled before I forgot about it and she told me it had been deactivated and I could feel free to throw it out. So I did just that. Well come March and sure enough there was an FYE-VIP charge of $11.99 on my card so I called and explained the situation to the phone representative. While he was very nice and understanding, I was annoyed (though it wasn't his fault) that he said my account still read as active and a refund was not available. I told him that I would get my cell phone records if necessary to prove that I did place a call to that same number in January and so he went to the supervisor and they agreed to refund me and gave me a confirmation number that I'm definately holding on to incase more charges appear.
Well, Jackie, who are you aiming that ridiculous comment to? Did you not read my comment above? Oh, your perfect, right? This is for F.Y.E. VIP Pass Complaints - Membership Terms. Your just in here to troll, not to help. I don't see anyone "crying" about whatever it is you think they are crying about. Next time, give helpful info, not a bunch of snarky baloney.
AEE131- Pardon me for sounding snarky, but I don't find any part of my comment ridiculous in the least. I addressed each one of the original poster's complaints in my comment, and then some. Just because I disagree with a user's complaint on a complaint website doesn't make me a troll. I'm by no means perfect. I just know what I'm talking about. You see, I've actually been working at a Sam Goody store (which is affiliated with F.Y.E.- think of it as the Gamestop/E.B. Games equivalent) for over six months now. And I can tell you, things like this aren't cakewalks for us employees, either.
We're REQUIRED to prompt you upon checkout for a Backstage Pass, 2 year warranty, and reservations if you pay with cash, and a V.I.P., 2 year warranty, reservations, and magazines if you pay with credit (at the moment, it's constantly changing). Every single time. From the outside looking in, I know it's annoying to be pestered with a bunch of questions when you just want to leave. But saying things like, "the sales clerk wouldn't shut the hell up about it" is basically saying he's doing his job.
Back to the main point, though, I agree with you when you say that you shouldn't agree to terms you're unsure of. You should always ask if you're suspicious or have doubts. But that applies to pretty much every agreement you'll ever come across- it's not specific to the V.I.P. Complaining that you agreed to terms you weren't sure of is no reason to single out a single product or store, especially since you're required to sign a paper/receipt that says you understand the terms of your agreement. I don't mean to put myself on a platform here- I've made my share of mistakes with agreements, too. It's just the truth.
So I hope you find this more insightful than my previous post. I'm sorry if I seemed apprehensive then.
Well this just happened to my daughter. A pamphlet was thrown in her bag with her purchase of a 9.99 item. This is the second month they took 11.99 out. We just noticed it. No one said a word to her about any program.. nothing about a free trial or monthly fee. Now that I am looking into it before calling in the last 15 minutes since I searched I have read at least 10 complaints all stating the same exact situation as my daughter. I imagine there are many more. Surely we aren’t all imagining it
Ok, I apologize. I thought that you were attacking my post, and also I apologize for calling you a troll. I just wanted to help others that are having problems with this and how to deal with it. I'm not saying its 100%the sales clerks fault. (Sometimes we are all caught off guard in high-stress situations)
AEE131- I completely understand. I'm not offended. :D Like I said, my post was aimed at the original poster- I thought it'd be understood, and I'm sorry to have gave you the wrong impression. And as far as whose fault it is... Well, it takes two to tango. I know whenever there's a long line of customers or it's been a long day, I tend to fly through the script offering customers things like the V.I.P., especially when I'm 90% sure they're going to say no. Unfortunately, trying to make things easier on the customers you think are going to say no anyway sometimes leads to confused customers who say yes, despite being unsure of the terms. It's a horrible catch.
Anyway, if anything, I feel like it's been a learning experience to those who signed up for the V.I.P. without being 100% on the terms, and they'll help others not make the same mistakes they made. After all, that's partially what this site is for, isn't it? :]
When you want to cancel, be certain you have your cancelation number. I did not have one after I canceled and then I was charged the next month. When you call, be certain to say you are canceling immediately and that you do not want to be charge. You will probably have to repeat yourself a few times.
Anyone know what phone numbers to contact actually person not on the machine? Since its charged as maxed out over 400 bucks on fye card without my knowledge.
AHHH I delt with the same issues as most of you they told me i could cancel within 30 days to avoid any charges and then month after month i was charged $11.99...i called 2 more times after that to cancel and they just rambled on about the deal but told me it was canceled...by the time i was charged the 3rd month i was furious i called up and was a complete [censor] and got through to the supervisor Thomas. he refunded me all of the money i was charged and canceled the membership for good. it suks that you have to be rude and crazy to get through to these people but do it! goodluck
and MexGalo84 the number is on your billing statement its [protected] and once you get the machine just press "0" and it will connect you to an operator... you will have to give the machine your last name but it only takes a min. and remmber if they say they cant refund you thats [censor]! You can almost always get a refund from things like these
Hey, can anyone tell me if and when I'll get the $20.00 gift card I mailed in for? I've been a member for over 2 months now; however, if I don't get this gift card soon, I'll be on the losing end of their special offer. Maybe I'll just call them and find out what's going, but I'd still appreciate some feedback from anyone who is willing to offer it.
In my case, I was flat-out lied to by the cashier (or, at best, misinformed)... She told me that the card itself was a 30 day trial and that IF I WANTED TO KEEP IT, I would have to call within 30 days to activate the paid subscription, not vice versa. Sure enough, I went about a full year with some unknown charge on my card every month, until I finally figured out it was FYE... 2 years and about 20 calls later, they still refuse to cancel my card. They've stolen close to $300 from me, and since the only nearby FYE closed down long ago (good riddance!) I never even got a chance to use the card! >:-( This pisses me off on so many levels...
Never signed up. Cancel this membership! I am on disability!
I was told that I would have 10 percent taken off the price that i was paying if I signed up for the card. I was also told to go online and fill out the information to register my card and after a certain amount of time, I would receive 20.00 or something in a couple of months. I did not go on line to register my cared and now i see $11.99 coming out of my account, reoccurring every month and they say it was authorized on 3/5/15. I wasn't even there during the month of March. Who authorized it? I made the purchase in January!
It's really easy to cancel if you register right from the start. You just access your account on the website and click the "Cancel" button.
