I recently checked my Lowes credit card online account to see when my zero interest promo would expire to discover I had late payments! I called customer service and they immediately told me to call an 877 number. I called that number, which was obviously not in North America, where I received the run around for over 30 minutes. No one could tell me more than one of 3 or 4 scripted responses. Never once did they say they were not actually Lowes/GEMB until I finally spoke with a "supervisor" who again could not tell me why I never received a bill/email/phone call finally admitted this was a collections agency. I paid the amount since I did not want a negative mark on my credit score. I then found out from my main credit provider Citibank that they were decreasing my credit limit by over 85% to just $88 over my full balance of $4, 100. I was angered b/c I have had great credit history. I called Lowes/GEMB back and yet again I got the "it aint my damn problem attitude" from multiple people, claiming they tried to contact me. I had near perfect credit before I had this account and now I can't even go on vacation b/c they reported to the credit bureaus I was 60 days past due. I am furious that a $50 bill has ruined my credit. I have reported this to the FTC, BBB and will be pursuing further action if GEMB fails to return my calls, letters . I have never been treated so poorly and like a criminal! I spend an average of 10, 000 yearly at Lowes that will now be going to Home Depot!

I AM TRYING TO DEAL WITH LOWE'S - ANOTHER COMPANY NOW SAYS THEY HAVE MY DEBT AFTER BUYING IT FROM LOWE'S. IT WAS UNPAID BECAUSE SOMEONE PUT INSURANCE OF ABOUT $55 PER MONTH ON THE CARD AND IT WAS ON THE STATEMENT EVERY MONTH. I REFUSED TO PAY IT, THEY WOULD NOT TAKE IT OFF! I DON'T KNOW WHO TO CONTACT NOW? I HATE DEALING WITH THESE FOREIGNERS AT THE LOWE'S CARD NUMBER!

I work for Lowes, I wont say which one, the credit issue is not a Lowes problem it's GE money banks problem. I had a Lowes card, my limit was not much, I recently went to check my statement and I had a reminder that my Lowes account was closed, I called GE and asked why? I was told that they made a business decision to close my account, they never sent me a notice or anything. I paid my bill on time everytime, other than that I reason I was not given a answer. I have had this happen to customers a lot with thier Lowes card and i've seen customers credit limits decreased to $50 for NO reason! The problem is not Lowes, the issue is GEM/B. I will never deal with them again and I am checking to see of what they are doing is legal and im filing a complaint with the BBB and the FTC as well.

When your account is closed it is never for NO REASON. No matter how well you pay your Lowes credit card bill your account is still effected by how you pay other bills. This is a credit card. It is based on your CREDIT as a whole. Even if you never made a late payment to Lowes, your limit can be lowered or your account closed if your car payment is late.

As far as the insurance on your account, when that is added GE MONEY is legally required to read you a verbatim script detailing how it will be charged. This conversation is recorded along with your acceptance. If it is on there, you agreed to it, it is that simple.

Credit companies do not go around randomly closing accounts and lowering limits. If it happens there is always a reason. It may have nothing to do with that card in particular, but since when you sign up for a card you give consent for them to monitor your WHOLE array of credit activity, paying an unrelated bill late absolutely can cause your limit to drop.

As for a promo that was due to expire, ALL PROMOS require minimum payments. If you did not make the minimum payment the account is turned over to collections, but before that happens all of the late fees and other notices would have been sent out on your MONTHLY STATEMENTS. If you looked at these you would have known what was happening.

Sounds like you messed up. Stop blaming the BIG BAD BANK! They did not have to loan you a penny. You went and signed up for their service. You agreed to the terms. You neglected to make your payments and now you are trying to worm out of paying. Face the facts.

I recently opened a Lowe's GE account to get 6 month "interest free" on some hardwood flooring. The purchase was made at the end of March for just over $2, 000. My first statement showed "interest waived" on the $ amount and a minimum payment due of $25. I paid $400 on April 16th, well before the statement due date. They posted the $400 payment to my account on 4/20. No problem. On 4/27 I purchased another $114 of misc. stuff, and put in on my Lowe's card to get the 5% discount. I just got my statement, and they show my original $2, 000 purchase, still marked "interest waived", my 4/20 payment for $400, and my 4/27 purchase of $114. They also show interest charges of $36+. The interest was calculated on my "average daily balance", which of course includes the "interest waived" purchase. I thought the credit laws changed in 2010 to prevent this? Payments are either supposed to be applied to highest interest items first - which would have paid the $114 puchase and left just my "interest waived" balance, OR my payment should have been applied to the accountbalance as of 4/20, which would have left the "interest waived" balance and new purchases less than 22 days old (no interest accruing yet). I will be paying off the entire balance, and won't be using my Lowe's card again.

The Lowes credit service is using deceptive practices! Im contacting the better business bureau regarding the fact that they negate to give you a monthly summery on all your purchases . By doing that it leaves the consumer in the dark about what they purchased and also an account of the dollar amounts . By grouping the non interest account with the regular purchase amounts you cant figure out what your individual balances are. Every other credit card company gives you a monthly purchase account. Your unable to screen if your cards been tampered with if you cant see the activity. They are scamming many elderly people and women. Woman are the largest consumer group using Lowes. They need to be accountable to these practices! Please join to sue the company! nataliakorrr@hotmail.com

i agree totally that lowes and synchrony bank are TOTALLY deceptive. i charged $25 on my lowes credit card in june 2015. I forgot to pay it. But rather than pushing a big red warning splash page on my online account, lowes simply rolled my charge to the next month. by the time i figured out i was late, i was past the 30 day period and a damn 25 charge dinged my perfect credit. Target on the other had push a BIG red warning my online account when i was 1 day late, forgot again. I PAID as soon as i saw the warning.SHAME on lowes and synchrony bank for not providing the same login late payment splash page. I will NEVER EVER shop at lowes again!

I agree with the many complaints involving Lowe's and their credit card. I have to drive to the store to pay my bill; online will never work. You cannot call because the person on the other end of the phone will not be proficient in English. My FICO score and credit score are both in the 800's; I too had my credit amount lowered by Lowe's, and I try pto maintain a zero baance by paying in full each month I am afraid to mail a payment; I fear they "will not recive it" and use that as an excuse to pile on their late fee. It is ashamed this company has to be so difficult to deal with.

Absolutely the worst credit company EVER. THEY WILL MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO ACCESS AND USE SO YOU GET LATE FEES/INTEREST. DO NOT USE!

I had the decrease twice with my card. I’m getting rid of it. All my other cards increase in balance this one just keeps dropping. Worthless as I say. Would never ever recommend this credit line to anyone.
