Review: Glarysoft's File Recovery Free - Decent Program with Limitations
I recently tried out Glarysoft's File Recovery Free and let me tell you, it was a bit of a disappointment. I was under the impression that it was completely free, but it turns out that it's only free for up to 3 files. The thing is, they don't tell you that anywhere! So I spent hours scanning my hard drive, only to find out that I couldn't recover all the files I needed.
Aside from that, the program itself is pretty easy to use. It has a simple interface and it's not too difficult to navigate. However, I did notice that it was a bit slow when it came to scanning my hard drive. It took longer than I expected, but I guess that's to be expected when you're trying to recover lost files.
Overall, I wouldn't say that File Recovery Free is a bad program, but it's definitely not as great as I was hoping it would be. If you're only looking to recover a few files, then it might be worth checking out. But if you need to recover a lot of files, then you might want to look elsewhere.
In conclusion, Glarysoft's File Recovery Free is a decent program, but it's not completely free and it can be a bit slow. If you're in need of a file recovery program, then it might be worth giving it a try. Just be aware of the limitations and don't expect it to work miracles.
Miracle Worker: A Review of the Best Free Computer Fixing Software
This software is really good, I mean really, really good. I've used it to fix so many computers, it's like a miracle worker. And the best part is, it's free! But I liked it so much that I decided to buy the "pro" license, just to show my support for such an amazing app.
I don't understand how anyone could give this less than 5 stars. It's just that good. I use it all the time, and it always does the job. One time, a colleague of mine was having problems with his expensive all-in-one computer. His son, who thinks he's a genius, told him to just buy a new one. But I knew better. I ran the free version of this software on his computer, and it was like magic. It fixed everything, and now his computer runs like new.
I can't recommend this software enough. It's a must-have for anyone who wants to keep their computer running smoothly. And did I mention it's free? But seriously, if you can afford it, get the "pro" license. It's worth it. Trust me.
Glarysoft Review: A Lifesaver for Computer Troubles, But Customer Service Could Improve
I've been using Glarysoft for almost a decade now, and I must say, it's been a lifesaver for me. I first stumbled upon this program when my daughter's laptop was in a complete mess, and I needed a quick fix. Glarysoft worked like a charm, and I was able to repair her laptop in no time.
Since then, I've been using Glarysoft for various purposes, and it has never let me down. Recently, my Windows 7 computer crashed, and I had to purchase a new Windows 10 computer. While transferring files, I noticed that Windows 10 had duplicated many folders, which was quite frustrating.
Thankfully, Glary utilities had a duplicate file delete function, and I attempted to delete over 140,000 duplicate files that Windows 10 had created. However, I faced a minor issue. In the past, Glary utilities would allow me to click a key called "Check Intelligent" and bulk delete all the duplicates in two clicks. But now, it's not working as it used to.
I contacted the company, and they were quick to respond. However, they implied that I didn't know how to use the program and offered no solution to the problem. I found this quite disappointing, but I still believe that Glarysoft is a great program.
Overall, Glarysoft is an excellent program that has helped me in many ways. It's easy to use, and it's free, which is a huge plus. However, the customer service could be better, and the program could use some improvements. But, I would still recommend it to anyone who needs a quick fix for their computer.
Glarysoft Review: A Nightmare of Updates, Malware, and Lost Files
I gotta say, Glarysoft is a real pain in the neck. Every time I turn around, there's another update waiting for me. It's like they can't leave well enough alone! And don't even get me started on the malware software they install without asking. I mean, who do they think they are, taking over my computer like that?
But that's not even the worst part. The other day, I was trying to clean out my Dropbox folder to make some space, and when I right-clicked on a picture, all my Microsoft Default options disappeared! I couldn't even delete anything anymore. So I uninstalled Glarysoft, hoping that would fix the problem. But when I rebooted my computer, I noticed that my OneDrive Camera Roll was missing! It was a cloud folder, for crying out loud! I went to the OneDrive website to try to restore it, but I got an error message. I've been talking to Microsoft for two weeks now, and they have no idea what I'm talking about. It's like that folder never even existed. And there were almost 900 pictures in there!
So, let me tell you, Glarysoft is not worth the trouble. They're always updating, taking over your computer, and messing with your default settings. And if you lose something important because of them, good luck getting it back. Save yourself the headache and stay far, far away from this software. Don't even think about paying for it!
Glary Utilities Review: A Great All-Purpose Program with Room for Improvement
This program is pretty good, it's a general utility program that can help you with your computer. You should only run one anti-virus program, but it's always good to have more than one utility program. You can use them for things like the registry, spyware, malware, and junk files. Sometimes one program won't catch everything, so it's good to have a few different ones. I like programs that don't use a lot of resources because it can slow down your computer.
I do have a question about Glary's spyware detector though. When I do a scan, it usually only catches one or none of any spyware programs. That's not normal, usually I have one that catches a lot and then the others catch a few more. I'm giving it four stars because of this. I'm going to email Glarysoft and ask if there's a way to make the spyware detection more sensitive.
Overall, this is a great utilities program. It doesn't use a lot of resources and it can help you with a lot of different things. If I hear back from the company and they improve the spyware detection, I'll do another review and give it five stars.
The Risks of Using "Fix-It-All" Programs: A Review of Glary Utilities and Other Similar Software
This review is gonna be a long one, so buckle up, folks. If you're not into computer maintenance and Fix-It programs, you might wanna skip this one.
First off, let me say that my "opinions" are based on my experiences, thoughts/ideas shared by friends, and a good deal of research. This review is about Glary Utilities, but it's really my opinion of all "Fix-It-All" programs out there. So don't take it personally, Glary.
Glary Utilities is a software 'utility' that bundles maybe ten or more individual 'fix-it's' to improve your computer's performance - make it run like new! It will "Optimize And Improve", fix your "Privacy And Security", attend to your "Files And Folders", get your "System Tools" in order, and finally "Clean Up And Repair". Each of these "fixes" has several more sub-options and "fixes". There's a "Lite" or free version (which might be missing some key attractions), and of course for a charge the "Pro" or full version.
Now, here's the thing. I have a problem with Glary, and most all others of its kind, because (A.) I'm not sure how effective all these "fixers" really are, and (B.) I'm not sure it's a good idea to put such invasive tools in the hands of people who don't have much experience. Many tech-savvy folks will tell you to leave your computer's registry alone. The registry is like your computer's 'central filing cabinet' or 'brain', controlling the main settings for what your computer is instructed to do, and how. If you mess with the registry the wrong way, and change or remove key registry commands, you could really mess up your system, or even lose it. The only fix then is to reinstall your OS.
So, how safe is it to give a trusting but unfamiliar user a program that's designed to DELETE "unnecessary" registry entries? I could tell you some horror stories (including my own DISASTER tales of registry fixers).
But it's not just the registry that's the problem. The same dynamic of RISK applies to all the other 'jobs' the utility is ready to do for you. What will it do to your security? And along with optimization, what will it "Improve"? Files And Folders, "corrects the errors in your start menu and desktop shortcuts". Do you know which shortcuts you want to keep, and which, if any, are OK to delete? So how does Glary?
So, what's safe? Ask a lot of good questions of smart computer people. Trouble is, they're not always handy, and they generally cost a good deal to hire.
I turn to the web sites I can trust for feedback. Trust takes time to build. Here's a starter for you. Lifehackers.com is a well-known resource with techs and smart computer people. They have a long history of good advice and fixes that have been around a while, work, and don't break anything. You'll learn a lot there and also find resources for freeware fixes and options you can trust.
There are more web sites you can turn to, but the process is not a quick one. Before a wizened user does anything, they'll drop into forums and ask the "elders", "any thoughts"? Mostly the feedback will be usable and safe. Unfortunately, PATIENCE is the best "fix" you can use.
Almost done. Here's a freeware program you can start with and get to know well. Ccleaner.com (originally known as Crap Cleaner) is one of the handiest tools around. It will clear out all your temp, garbage files (but you STILL have to know WHICH areas to tell it to clean), disable unnecessary items from start-up, even uninstall stubborn unwanted programs. It's also one of the few intelligent registry fixers - period. You can scan your registry without changes, backup existing registry before any cleaning (if you screw-up - UNDO the clean), and for some reasons I'm unaware of, makes better decisions about your registry than most other progs.
So, there you have it. Be careful of promises that seem "too good to be true" - they generally are. Research and patience will keep your computer running longer, better, with a lot less grief.

Glary Utilities Pro Edition
I have a Glary Utilities Pro Edition License Code that I purchased several years ago. Program updates come regularly. Yesterday, I downloaded the newest update and it is the regular edition. For the Pro Edition it asked for my License Code which I entered but it would not accept it. I sent an email to glary support with a screen shot that shows my License Code, my Name, that it is the Pro Edition, and that the license NEVER EXPIRES. I received an email from them today saying they want me to send my bank records showing the purchase. This purchase was made years ago and I have no idea where to begin looking through my bank records.
With a screen shot clearly showing my license code, my name, and that it is the Pro Edition that never expires, this should be sufficient. But, now they want me to pay $39.95 per year for the Pro Edition. This is ridiculous when I have already paid for this product.
Claimed loss: Use of the Glary Utilities Pro Edition.
Desired outcome: I want my already purchased Glary Utilities Pro Edition License Code, which never expires, to be honored.
