Unauthorized charge on my account
I have received a charge on my PayPal Mastercard account of $144.00. I am shocked and angry. I did not request to have a renewal and I did not ask to have this charge to my debit card. I had order something on the 28th of February, and when I saw the charges did not go through, I was livid. I called PayPal to dispute the charge. I had to cancel my card. I sent a dispute to Grammarly. They do not have a phone number and their customer service is answer bot. I was sent an email from Valerie of their support team to look into this matter. hopefully, they will refund, or the FTC can take action.
Fraudulent advertising
The company is purposefully misleading all California consumers by fraudulently advertising its services with an inaccurate "monthly" charge which it actually charges up front on an annual basis, and then refusing to refund customers who raise issues, attempt to receive a refund or cancel the services. The company is clearly doing this purposefully and with full knowledge of its deceptive practices, because its customer service reps refuse to return fraudulent charges and have been trained to provide curt denials which claiming that the ad is accurate, and that the "fine print" not present in the original sales pitch but buried in the follow-up documentation allows them to do this, and allows them to retain fees even when services are immediately cancelled. Please investigate - there are complaints about this ploy in numerous consumer complaint forums online, and this is the worst abuse of advertising I have seen in a while. I have, by the way. also been told by their phone reps that they are refusing to even mail me a copy of the agreement and fine print that they claim is in effect ("you need to pull it from our website, it's there already"). I would like my $144 dollars returned, and a copy of the agreement provided to me in writing so that I can contact a class action attorney once your investigation has been completed. PS - the ad was shown to a minor, who is not legally able to enter into contracts. I see other complaints online about this issue, and I see nothing in your terms of service about entering into contracts with minors. Dear Grammarly, if you are misleading minors with deceptive advertising then you should expect consequences, including for your General Counsel, who I plan to report to the State Bar of California shortly.
Premium Grammarly
I paid for the Premium account and have yet to see it on my computer. The one I have is the basic free version. This is not what I paid for on October 2, 2022. I have attached a payment photo on my credit card statement and I need it corrected. Please let me know what to do to resolve this issue. This was paid through my credit card owner three months ago.
Desired outcome: A refund or the service I paid for
Subscription
Hello, this school year I signed up for the monthly subscription and I have been billed for the yearly subscription. I was billed on November 17, 2022. I know for certain I did not sign up for the $144 subscription. I had already canceled the subscription also. I would greatly appreciate it if I could have a refund.
Desired outcome: I would greatly appreciate a response and refund for the subscription I did not sign up for.
Subscription Renewed Without My Knowledge or Consent
On October 18,2022 Grammarly charged me $140 for their Premium service. I thought I changed to the Free account last year when they pulled the same thing. They renew your subscription with no notice.
Here is their policy:
"Grammarly Premium subscriptions are non-refundable, and Grammarly will not prorate any fees paid for a subscription that is terminated before the end of its term."
Desired outcome: Full Refund
Grammarly
My name is Amanda Flores and
Grammarly charged me $144.00 for a service that I did not use and thought it wa s cancelled. It is very upsetting for this situation to be occurring over a service that i did not utilize whatsoever. I want to get my money back as soon as possible, because sketchy websites that hid their sketchiness with a facade. I’ll be needing this money as soon as possible, because overcharging people over this service is upsetting!
Desired outcome: I want my money back.
Premium
I love randomly waking up to over 200$ just being taken out of my account with only 1 email stating it was taken out. That is truly awesome; no prior warning, just boom! 200$ gone. I didn't even remember signing up for an annual subscription just a month after the 7-day trial, but that isn't the case here. It is annoying because this money is for school, and getting random massive charges is not exactly something I enjoy seeing. I would have appreciated more warning about this up-and-coming charge...
I love the app; it is beneficial, especially for my college courses that involve loads of typing with academic-level grammar; I wish it was only charging me for a month or quarterly, just not annual.
Desired outcome: Well, refunds are possible... so I guess I'm SOL there, but just maybe a more stern warning before the money is deducted, or instead of a direct charge, implement a request to withdraw system.
Grammarly charged me 144 USD for a service which I do not use
Every day I get charged by Grammarly for a fee of 144 usd per day. Luckily my account doesn't have enough money to spend. I was charged on September 30, October 1 and October 2, below is the image I was charged by Grammarly. to easily contact me, this is my email [protected]@gmail.com
Desired outcome: I want this situation to stop immediately
grammerly surprise charge to my son's account
My son at college saw a very substantial deduction from his checking account for Grammerly today. He did not authorize an upgrade from the free basic service to be deducted and also it seems to have been done without warning. I have sent in a ticket asking for information on this and to ask questions like: Why? How does he get back the free version?.. etc.
Note: several years ago this similar thing happened to me and I had to go to the bank to freeze the payment as an unauthorized charge. It is my intention to suggest this to him so get back with me soon.
Oh, maybe a phone number for customer service would help.
-Professor K. Jensen
Desired outcome: Remove the charge and out him back in on a free account.
Full-Sentence Rewrites
I signed up for a Premium account because I wanted access to Grammarly for their full sentence rewrite and only had limited access to this use the free trial.
I now do not have access to this at all and have been emailing for several months trying to get to the bottom of this.
I am paying for a premium account but I am not getting unlimited edits and do not have a second account as your chat help keeps stating.
Desired outcome: I want to have full access to the "full sentence rewrite"
7 day free trial scam
I just checked my credit card and you charged me for 3 months of 34.95 acct number [protected]-May-june-april when it was a 7 day trial. You did not send an invoice statement stating you charged my credit card.
I see from other complaints that you make it a habit to scam people, please credit my 3 months back to my cc as you did not have permission to take money from my cc.

Grammarly charged me 188 USD for a service which I do not use and thought was cancelled.
Just got charged 188 USD for nothing basically. Today.
I haven't had any use for Grammarly since it is intrusive and do not support my native language.
I thought I hade cancelled Grammarly but the "subscription" is not visible in Google Play even though I signed up using Google.
I also quit the Grammarly Google Chrome extension and answered a survey giving feedback since I used to think Grammarly was great when it came out. (but i guess those are not connected)
I do not trust this company (Grammarly), it seems like one of these companies or services you liked when it came out but over the years it actually became worse.
When I thought I cancelled everything Grammarly it was about the app becoming intrusive and annoying, prompting me to look at the red "notification" which is just a "warning" that I'm not signed in.
That "notification" and other annoying intrusive "features" that has being added over the years is why I (thought I) cancelled in the first place.
I will give an update about how this is going, I rarely use this Google account but I felt the need to write a review to warn others about Grammarly.
It's especially sad as I used to be a fan of the company and left genuine feedback when I cancelled my other account in hopes of Grammarly getting back to where it was.

7 Day Trial Scam
I was using the free version of Grammarly when I got a message saying that I could get a 7-day free trial to Grammarly Premium. I clicked on it and was told that I will be charged at the end of the 7-day period. So I took the offer. Little did I know that they will charge me on the same day and did not even give me a free trial. Rather they started my monthly subscription. I tried contacting them but no response. When I check my account, there is no mention whatsoever of a trial. Avoid
Desired outcome: I want to be refunded as I did not opt-in for the whole month's subscription.

Grammarly premium
I have started and then stopped Grammarly premium $28.99 a month, several times. It has always been for the same reason. Grammarly premium deducted payment from my banking account each time. But when I try to use it I keep getting the same message, that I can't use advanced suggestions and that I have not paid and I need to pay again. It has only worked on a few occasions. I have lost $150.00 on poor communication and service.
Desired outcome: I would like to have Grammarly Premium work on my Mac with Safari, Google, iPhone, Gmail, and Facebook.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I have a premium account.
I have a premium account the first month I paid $30, and the second time I paid the $144 for the year. And every time I go on Grammarly it is saying go to premium account and get better service, or something like that don't quote me.
I will be reporting this to the better business bureau and setting up a blog, of others that have experienced the same problem.
Also, if this problem is not rectified, I will be putting you on blast on all the social networks and trust me it won't be considered slander.
Cordially yours Jose Luis Borges
Grammarly
I would like some help because I forgot my email to my premium account I tried using the form but some part of my email had blank pound signs in it and I still don't know. Can somebody help? Grammarly keeps withdrawing money from me ,although I am not premium anymore.
First three months I used Grammarly and I tried to unsubscribe. Then again they withdrew money from me although I wasn't premium. It shows premium and purchase premium but I am not premium. Then ,today I saw that they purchased another $60. I wanted refund and followed steps to unsubscribe but they don't. Their hands are in my pocket, I feel that. And I will share this in every platform.

Grammarly-Premium
My 13-year-old son just downloaded Grammarly premium on my computer, without my knowledge for a paper, and used my husband's Paypal account to pay for a year's subscription. I nor my husband authorized this transaction. He is not old enough to be able to make purchases like this as he is only 13. I will cancel the subscription, but I would like to be refunded for the full amount $144. Please let me know what I can do to have this refunded, or what else I need to do to have the charges reversed. I also want to make sure I do not get charged again next year and my payment information is removed fully.
Desired outcome: Full refund and cancellation
Grammarly charging practices.
Grammarly increased the price without any notification and when I tried to cancel the Premium subscription they emailed me that I will still be charged for one more year before the cancellation will take effect.
