Financing for home improvements.
I was thrown into financing through GreenSky Financial when the window company was going to find me the "best rate they could" and I received a pre-approval through GreenSky. We were forced to proceed as the windows were ordered without my knowledge. Greensky was not helpful when I disputed the financing. I informed GreenSky I needed proof of funding since all I had in my hands was a pre-approval for financing. They would not help and never provided any proof stating I agreed to this. They simply told me to pay or the loan would be turned to collections.
Every month they call after I make the payment stating this is a "courtesy call" and they just need to verify my information. Every month I'm asked for name, date of birth, address, email, and phone. I usually hang up at this point because we've already discussed the loan prior to asking these questions. They are also notorious for calling at 9PM. This is bad business practice. THEY NEED TO RETRIN THEIR STAFF OR STOP THE COURTESY CALLS!
Recalculation of my loan during covid crisis
I called Greensky several times requesting recalculation of loan during this Covid Crisis and made the representative that I had lost my job due to cuts.
The representative refused to assist me to change payment amount or change in the 9 percent interest rate. I believe this is a violation during this crisis.
I called again to try and pay off the loan earlier and asked to have a payoff amount to be less than the amount $17125.44 but the representative would not allow me to speak to anyone and just said no.
I have sent a check for $15000.00 and I am asking to have my monthly payments recalculated for the remaining balance of $2, 565.71
I cannot pay the $251.42 a month. I need to have a lower monthly payment schedule to pay off the remaining balance. No one has returned my calls or request.
I would never recommend Greensky to anyone for the following reasons:
Interest Rate is too High and the Company during this horrible pandemic has not followed any of the government financial agreements.
Please contact me via phone [protected]
Thank you
Desired outcome: Recalculation of monthly payments and remaining loan balances
Greensky refund
I paid off my account with Greensky, but I overpaid. I have been trying to get someone from Greensky to respond to the messages that I have left on the loan site, to find out what I need to do to get my money back and I repeatedly get no response. There is no phone number that I can find to actually be able to speak to a live person about my problem.
Desired outcome: Refund

act number [protected] George glynn . I cannot get through to anyone on the phone. have a problem with the credit.. I need to talk to a human being. I have been tryin g to get through to someone for a week.
please have a representative call me. [protected]. [protected]. this is ridiculous. Paid twice, received confirmation numbers. money not taken out of bank account.
Interest rate charged
I would say Greensky is a modern day crook! They change payment days every month at the start of loans trying to charge late payments every month. Be aware of your account especially if you are on autopay. But the biggest ripoff is they charge 9.9% interest a month, yes a month. Its 9.9% a year, its by the month worse than any credit card or card loan you will have or have heard off. They should be shut down.
Desired outcome: Refund on interest paid and a fair 9.9% annually not monthly
Payment
I mailed my payment in on Nov 2nd and it wasn't posted to my account until Nov. 16th. Greensky blames it on the mail service and Covid for delays. Greensky states it takes 10 days to process. Maybe Greensky needs to hire someone who knows how to process payments and pick up their mail from a PO box everyday.
Totally unacceptable...
My home mortage goes to Dallas and is processed within a week and mail doesn't go by carrier pigeon.
my payment
My name is Bonnie Frogg. We have an account with Green Sky. I have received several calls about my payment. The payment of 316.50 was made on 12/9/19. It was done over the phone. The confirmation number is #[protected] from Langley Federal Credit Union. I pay almost all of my bills over the phone, and never have any problems, except for you. I am not paying any late fees, because the payment was received on time.
customer service
I took over my son's loan with them two years ago. I have been making the payments and my son gave them permission to speak to me regarding the loan. I called today to change my payment source and they refused to let me, because, although they recognized my phone number, social, my son's name and his previous address, I do not know his current address. I asked for a manager and he told me the same thing, although I knew everything but my son's new address, and that the automatic system recognized me, I could not make changes to the payment source. I told them fine, since they have put me through loops for two years and are now refusing my information to continue to receive payments, they would no longer receive any payments from me. Realize I am not asking them for anything, I am trying to PAY them, and they still will not cooperate. The stupidest people I have ever encountered in my life.
billing
I used this company for a promotional offer from my dentist office. Biggest nightmare of my life. Filled out the paper work in the doctors office before the surgery on Sept 20, 2017. I never received anything in the mail from this company till November 2017 when I received the first bill from them. On this bill it said I was a month overdue and that I actually owed for two months. I had already contacted the company getting their information from the dental office because I had thought that they really needed to have sent me something between Sept 21 and Nov. 25th (approx date may be off a couple days either way) when I received the first thing ever from this company. I when I called in early Nov 2017 I was told that my bill was sent out and that a payment was due by Nov. 13th, 2017. I explained I never received anything from y'all and that I would make that payment as soon as I received a bill. Nothing came a few days later I called again and was told a bill was mailed out. Still nothing, then I get a bill at the end of the month saying I was past due. Still no bill I tried contacting the company and getting that first bill out to me. Still nothing. After multiple calls and hours of my time spent I contacted BBB. Within a couple of days I was contacted told the man what happened and he said I will get that out to you but you are still overdue and will be required to pay all late fees. He was extremely rude and unprofessional so I asked to speak to someone else. Meanwhile I sent in the second bill (1st one I received) with a note stating this was the first bill I received so this is payment number 1. I continued this and talking with the billing dept. Finally after about 4 months I was sent a copy of the original paper work and the first bill. At this time my issue was finally escalated to another person that asked me what I wanted to have happen. We worked out a deal since I had already made a few payments in excess of the amount due he offered to eliminate the late charges for about 6 months because I was over paying every month and that would give the extra towards the amount due I never received a bill for and it was their error about mailing out the info and bill. Great thought the problem was solved but no every month I had to call about the late fee. So that went on every month until the extra amount completely paid off the past due amount. Then the promotion was ending and so I paid off the account in full before the expiration date of Sept 22, 2018. I asked to be sent a bill with a 0 balance and to cancel the account. I was told I would need to call back in 3 days to request this. I paid it off in full on Sept. 17, 2018 and so I waited till Sept 21, to call and request this. Today Sept 25, I receive in the mail another bill sent out on Sept 21, 2018 saying I still owe them money. After all the hassle I have had with this company I want to warn others don't use these folks they are crooks and in my experience will do and say anything to pacify upset customers and then not follow through
loan
Do not get a loan through this company. They literally steal money out of your account. I am in the middle of a dispute with them as I write this. My loan is paid off, but they continued taking money out of my account and did not apply the payoff money to my account. I can't believe this is through home depot. I've dealt with a lot of creditors and this is by far the worst experience i've ever had.
the bill is not what I was told it would be by both christina carpenter at laser away and green sky representative

I just got my first bill. You lied to me. My bill was only for $1959.30 and the payments are supposed to be $163.27 per month for 12 months with NO INTEREST. You falsified the statement you sent me. I was EXTREMELY SPECIFIC WITH CHRISTINA CARPENTER at LASER AWAY in Hermosa Beach, CA. I SAID I WOULD NOT AGREE TO ANY BILLING THAT CHARGED ME INTEREST. Christina said there would be no interest and I CLARIFIED THAT WITH YOUR COMPANY BEFORE I AGREED TO THE TREATMENT AT LASER AWAY.
I just got a bill that is CHARGING ME INTEREST AND THE TOTAL AMOUNT IS FOR $2001.15.

payments are not credited to my account in a timely manner
Greensky Suntrust never credits my account for payment until at least 1 week after receipt. They have taken up to 6 weeks to post payment after receipt. By not crediting my account when payment is received, they are charging me an unfair amount of extra interest. Resolution would be for Greensky to credit my account with the extra interest they have charged by not crediting my account with payment when received. Account number [protected].
hvac equipment
In August of 2015 I contracted with a local HVAC company to install a specific brand, 3.5T piece of equipment on my roof. Over the course of a few years, I continued to have problems with this equipment and it was only after I got another HVAC contractor on my roof who confirmed I had a 3T piece of equipment on my roof. At that point I initiated a dispute with GreenSky. I had the AZ Registrar of Contractors rule in my favor that what I contracted for was not what I got. For many months while my case was being investigated by GreenSky, I received statements stating I had a credit on my account. GreenSky is refusing to help me because I signed a "completion form", and when I explained that I, like many other homeowners, are not going to climb on the roof to confirm what's there, their response was "you signed the completion form, there's nothing more we can do for you, you need to contact the merchant". Let me interject here that the contractor is no longer in business and has filed bankruptcy. Whatever you do, DO NOT use this company for anything! This has been the worse experience of my life.
I can honestly say that Green Sky needs to get there crap together. My payments are extremely low $200.00 and at times I had double the payments. I paid one payment in November by money order and two in December. I received a call three time in January saying I'm three months behind. Luckily I have the check stubs to prove them wrong. There is no excuse for this.
Green Sky is the worst kind of financial predator. We wanted to replace a tub with a shower and the contractor estimated the job and called Green Sky for financing. I didn't know anything about this company. I was told to sign three documents electronically - the MasterHomeSolutions contract with an estimate of $14, 425, the loan application and a statement that I had received the lead information. Green Sky approved $19, 500 instead and refused to lower the loan amount. I never received the contract from Green Sky until over two weeks later, past the cancellation period. I am legally blind and asked the MastersHomeSolutions rep to go over the contract with me. He showed me the first page online - the estimate but nothing else. I had to request copies be sent to my email. I received a "shopping pass" from Green Sky so I called them and asked if I could take the balance in cash and use it for another project. They said the money was not mine. Only MasterHomeSolutions could access it. Well, they certainly did. They charged $9, 713.02, supposedly with my pre-approval. Turned out the contractor is actually a client of Green Sky. Their contracts reinforce each other in order to defraud the customer by misrepresentation. I offered to get my own financing for the contracting job and the Green Sky rep, located in the offices of MastersHome Solutions, told me she had to have proof and then they would consider reversing the charges. It is utterly amazing that no one ever mentioned the relationship or tried any other lender. My credit rating is 807 - I didn't have to use Green Sky. That was the contractor/client's action - to call only Green Sky for financing. So now I have a payment coming due on a loan which is not my money to access for construction work which was never scheduled, let along completed. If this situation were not so pathetic, it would be funny. I encourage everyone who has had a Green Sky Experience" to detail the situationa nd send it to their state and several reps, chambers of commerce, business bureau and any licensing agencies operating in their state. This company has a paper trail of unethical financial practices and needs to be reported and stopped.
home improvement loan
We were roped into a loan through GreenSky at the recommendation of a foundation repair company we are using. I think mostly to save time, the salesman who did our estimate only put my husband's name on the loan - though I am the primary manager of the account.
When after the first two months, GreenSky took the money for a payment out of my account without removing it from my balance, I tried to call to remedy the situation. Not only was the customer service representative extremely unhelpful, but she was also very rude. I had to have my husband call to track down the money that GreenSky did not post to my account.
Keep a close eye on your balance if using this company - they'll attempt to steal from you and give you the run-around if you try to call to track your funds down.
Denied ability to offer credit to my clients
12/21/-12/29/16
As a health care provider (chiropractor) I used Green Sky credit to purchase a high end massage chair for my patient to utilize and to market these chairs. That relationship has been a smooth one.
Recently (12/21/16) I applied to Green Sky to be a merchant provider, there was a short term end of year sale on the massage chairs and i needed to move quickly to be able to offer my clients interest free financing. I submitted an online application on 12/21/16 and was told I would receive a decision on the app in 48 hrs. After 5 days of me calling, being transferred several times every time i called and extended hold times, I was told they do not certify members of my profession as credit providers. I asked when they were going to let me my app was declined but received no answer. This was handled very badly. Too bad for them, as I have accessed another credit provider that does not discriminate against my profession and is happy to make some money. Is there a resolution for this? Probably not. i would suggest if you are a business in a time crunch, ask up front if your profession is covered. it might save some time.
poor customer service
When I tried to enroll to make a payment it stated that the account information was incorrect. I called the 1-800 number provided on the enrollment letter and spoke with a gentleman inquiring as to why it would not allow me to enroll; I was trying to make the first payment on the account. The gentleman was completely unhelpful and basically told me make sure I was entering the account number and zip code correctly...wow thanks genius, I never would have thought about checking to make sure those were correct. Please note, I was entering the information from the letter they provided. So after several rounds of him stating that he could not see why it would not allow me to enroll and him stating that because I was not an "authorized" user that he would be unable to assist me, so I hung up, obviously frustrated. After hanging up with GreenSky, I contact Mad City Windows (who installed the windows) and spoke with a very nice lady who within seconds was able to tell me that the zip code they have listed did not match what GreenSky had noted on the letter. After entering the correct zip code, I was able to bring up the account. I am confused as to why it was impossible for GreenSky, who holds the account and with whom we make payments to was unable to provide the needed information to set up the account. I guess they didn't want my money. I was not an "authorized" user, but was able to get the needed information from Mad City Windows with ease. GreenSky may want to take a look at how they handle situations like this in the future.
Despite what is annotated on their billing statements as well as their websites, there appears to be no credible/actual means to contact Green Sky. Everything is automated without an option to speak to a customer service representative. Which means any attempt to question or resolve problems - the very reason for customer service - is in futile. That should not be allowed given this company's actions (or lack thereof) directly impacts people's lives and potentially their livelihood.
I had 5 new windows put in by Renewal by Anderson. They sent the bill to GreenSky. The cost was suppose to be $9, 606.00. I have paid $9, 839.03 and I keep getting bills in the amount of $113.48 to $122.53. I will never use Renewal by Anderson again and definitely not GreenSky Loan accounts.

greensky credit online credit inaccuracies
GreenSky Credit was offered to me as promotional offer for some windows I was purchasing from a home improvement. I tend to do as much of my banking over the Internet as possible so as my charges came in I set up my online access to monitor my balances and make my payments. So far after two calls I have not been able to get my account summary page to reflect any charges or payments I have made to my account. I went ahead and made a payment to the account as I had a paper document showing that one of the expenses had come in on the account. This payment does reflect in my payment history but neither expenses or payments show in the account summary page. I have yet to be able to get any explanation from the GreenSky customer service folks that indicates why this data is not accurately reported in my online interface. My concern is that these errors could somehow reflect in my credit history on a negative basis
so just beware if dealing with these folks.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
We sent in a payment and they did not post the entire amount toward what we owed. I have called numerous times and tried to get this mistake taken care of. My bank had to re-enter the check and have the situation looked at by the Federal Reserve. The money has been taken out of my bank account, yet it has not been taken off what I owe to Green sky.
Receive my first payment due and made 2 payments and it seems payment only goes to interest and no principal.

Well I guess my situation is a blessing in disguise. I applied for a loan for windows as there was a 0% financing special. I was denied even though my credit core is over 800 and my debt to income ratio is below 15%. When the representative told me I was declined I immediately obtained a copy of my credit report from all three agencies to confirm that there were no fraudulent accounts. Apparently GreenSky doesn't want to lend to people that have excellent credit and pay their bills on time. I have reached out to them to find out the 'specific reason' that I was declined. While I no longer want to do business with their company I am considering filing a formal complaint with my state. The sales representative (of the company we had intended to purchase windows from) made suggestions of applying for a different type of loan, using a different lender, contacting our bank, etc. He had suggested a different payment option prior to our applying for the zero percent. We declined his help and are looking for other contractors. I feel like we were in the middle of some sort of false advertising or bait and switch type scam.
I discovered I had a GreenSky loan for $7500 on my credit report. When I contacted the company regarding the fraud, they refused to speak to me without my "password". I don't have one-I never took out a loan through them. After contacting the MN Attorney General, FTC, and all credit reporting agencies they decided to respond. My elderly father had taken out a loan through them. Why and how they attached my name is a mystery. The paperwork they sent of thes signed papers have only his name and signature. It is a loan to him alone. The letter they sent in response to the complaint I filed with the State of MN states that my signature is on the papers and that my father is my husband. It is obscene. And this is no mistake on GreenSky's part. The papers he signed provide two lines for joint applicants. Only one line is signed, by my father. They state that their CSR created the loan by phone, as well. I do not know what kind of a scam these guys typically run, but you apparently can't even be related to a loan recipient without being at risk of this group making fraudulent statementson your credit report.
I am trying now to find a way to report this company for fraudulent account keeping and reporting on a home improvement loan. I WISH I could sue them for horrible customer service! I've had an account with them for four months and have made AT LEAST 20 phone calls to them re: contractor charges being declined (home improvement contractors needless to say) completely inaccurate information on my account web page---never know actual balance. Call in, get transferred to two other people and everyone tells me a different number! I get told that the website doesn't reflect charges since last statement. What company in 2017 doesn't have real time reporting? Credit cards, utility companies, EVERYONE posts payments immediately and shows an up to date balance. NOT this company. The rudest "customer service representatives" I've ever had contact with! I've now complained YET AGAIN that I'm getting different balances depending on the source: website, phone in, or automated info. I've requested management to research. Asked for a call log to see exactly how many times I've had to call this company. He said "we have a call log but I'm not sure I can release that information". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? If anyone out there knows of a State or National organization I can use to take action OR a competent attorney, please contact me at stevenslyn520@gmail.com. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ...Lynette

Same problem here. not only have I never received my first statement but started out because of that completely in arrear even though they have my address correct from the start. because of this I have and will be threaten with bodily injury because down here in Miami its what they did with certain gangs. sometime cops are duped by them I don't know what to do about it. no lawyer will even take my case spent over 350 dollars with the Miami Dade bar association to get toold the lawyers all have documents signed about not suing certain clients especially when those clients operate as business under the disguise of the secret. As that man the one veteran from the states whom was never paid what president Reagan promised the best kept secret of all is albert Einstein's math coming from the American Standard KJ Bible including 99.99 percent of all technology as well as because of what that version says all the rest of the faiths included for Jesus be risen as the Great I Am that Father that Created all Things. Being honest I am, JAMES LEE ANDERSON
I had a heat pump installed at my home in North Carolina. I asked the contractor if he wanted half down when the equipment arrived and remainder after final inspection. He declined the half down and I told him I would pay him in full when the job was complete. Long story short was that I received a call from collections at Green Sky saying that I was overdue with my loan. What loan I asked? Their contention was that by signing an agreement to do a credit check that I had agreed to a loan. Their next contention was that I was bound to the loan because they had sent it to me via mail. Understand we are talking snail mail and not e-mail.They asked me to send them $80.00 for the first payment which would go for the interest of the loan. Don't worry because if the loan is paid off in six months then those interest payments would count towards the principle. I am truly perplexed because they are asking me for money on a loan I never signed and a loan I have never seen. I received two e-mails from Green Sky today. One was a link where I would go so I could get a loan. The other was a link to give a survey on their service which I deleted. I called the contractor and paid my account up in full even though I have not yet got a final approval. He says that I have to close the account with Green Sky because the account is in my name. I am at a dilemma. The contractor has placed me in an awkward place. I do not wish to communicate with either party. It appears the Better Business Bureau is protecting Green Sky but I will file a worthless complaint against a company with lame business practices that shows absolutely no humane regard for the general public which they prey upon. The contractor shall feel my wrath by getting a complaint filed with the BBB and low regards on Angie's list.
My situation is similar, I was told by The Hot Tub Store, Utica, MI that I would be applying for credit at 9.99% interest for $19, 000. They told me I was approved. Nothing was given to me as far as paperwork at the time. Three weeks later, I discovered that The Hot Tub Store actually took out a loan in my name with GreenSky for 17.99% interest and the credit amount was $24, 500. I also discovered that The Hot Tub Store also charged on the account over $4, 000, even though they were not going to deliver the item I ordered in the time frame they said they were going to deliver. I immediately contacted GreenSky and told them that I didn't authorize the company to open that account at those rates and for that much money. After a few months of agruing with GreenSky, they finally decided to file a charge back. The Hot Tub Store was charging me a restocking fee of 25% because I didn't cancel my order within three days. I didn't receive the "loan" information until three weeks and then cancelled immediately. GreenSky told me they don't allow merchants to charge restocking fees on their lines of credit. I have been contesting this entire account and the usage of the account for over a year. GreenSky has ruled that I am responsible for this "loan" even though I do not have anything and no services were provided. They are charging me 17.99% interest on restocking fees for a hot tub that I never received and for a loan that I never agreed to open or use. I was told my only recourse is to take them to court. So that is what I am going to do, unfortunately, I have to take time and money (which I don't have) out of my life to fight something I never signed up for in the first place.
I am having the same problems. I bought an HVAC system for over $10K and it is financed through Green Sky. My online account history indicates I have never made a payment. It also indicates my account balance is zero ($0) but also that the next payment is due on 07/09.
It is ridiculous in this day and age for any financial services company to have such poor service. It makes me extremely uncomfortable for Green Sky to not have accurate account details available for me to review. The fact that they do not suggests several things, none of them good for the consumer.
A:) They are running a racket and will attempt to get more payments and money from me than is actually due.
B:) They employ chimpanzees without skills or ability to use what is now common and ordinary technology used by all other banks and financial institutions to help consumers manage accounts.
C:) Customer service is of no importance to them what so ever.
D:) They can't afford the technology to develop a comprehensive web site for account management.
I don't know what their problems are for certain, but I know I never would have financed anything through them had I known in advance they choose to not provide timely and accurate account management services online. Online account management is so common now days that I never thought to ask before getting involved with Green Sky. I will certainly never finance anything through them again.
Scam
I have had a card from them for several months, and a few days ago had a charge declined. I waited until today to see if it would be straightened out, but was still declined. Then I received a letter in the mail stating that they had closed my account! With no warning, for no valid reason, they just closed it. The letter gave an "800" number to call "If you feel this is in error", so I called an asked about this. After they failed to return my call the first time, I called again and finally talked to someone in that department who said that he could not give me any specific details of why they closed it, but that it was final, and for a consolation he said he didn't see why it would affect my business. I was using that card to stock up on inventory for my new location that was set to open next month, that now will not open because of these thieves. Just in case you want to think that I have bad credit, which is what they stated was why they closed it, I have never missed a payment on any credit card, mortgage, or auto loan, and have a credit score of over 700. Bottom line: if they are your only option, take them, but get something else asap like your business depends on it - because it does!

I am seeing a lot of negative reviews about you, like my while payment would go to interest, you're scammers, what you quote as monthly payment is not the same as what appears on statements, just to quote a few, I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income, is all this true?

My husband and I had a major plumbing problem. The contractor called Rooter Hero had my husband finance through GreenSky.
My husband signed all the paperwork, but the loan ended up going through in my name even though I did not sign anything.
My husband passed away on 2/22/22 from cancer and complications due to his cancer.
I have tried to negotiate a settlement on this loan, but GreenSky refuses to do any negotiation. I have hired a lawyer thinking this would help but they will not work with my lawyer either.
This company has been told that there was no Will or assets, and I am on social security.
Also, loan is paid more than halfway down. I'm trying to settle for half of that.
Stay away from this company. They are not above processing loans without proper signatures and dealing with unethical companies
Just be aware that your contractor may inflate the cost of reno...do your homework because my 8000 pricetag for a flat roof turned into a simple fix of rubber cover never fixing the dip in the roof that caused
penetration so following day after fix i looked at job with a flooded roof with 2 inches of rain that was the stupidity of the salesman to roofers for a company...no plywood,no tapers for pitch,a cheap fix with the Greensky or Greedy bank with the payment for 100 dollars with
Greedy getting 50 dollars of the payment...what a con game using desperate poor people with the ole credit card game never being able topay untill you are well lets not go into that banks are giving credit to make money!also they opened 2 loans for me...the second that i never used was collecting interest fees
for 550.00 until I looked at the account to print out my payoff letter dont go near these people if you have
a 800 credit rating they will find a way to charge the mystery fees if u look like a good mark!
