Scam central!
I decided to try the free grindr before purchasing first. It's unreal all the fake bots and scams I am in indiana. Even if you report it they never leave the site. Then the rules you agree to are fine. But you see people trying to sell drugs or nudes on main page or cell numbers. You can report it but nothing changes. And then the underage on ours. Grindr needs to do be on making sure you are legal.
Grindr Bans Accounts Without Warning: How to Get Your Money Back
Grindr is a popular dating app that has been around for quite some time now. However, there are some issues that users have been facing with the app. One of the most common complaints is that Grindr regularly bans accounts without any warning or justification. This can be quite frustrating for users who have paid for a subscription and have invested their time and effort into the app.
The bans are often for minor infractions that could have been easily resolved with a warning. For instance, if you share a link to an event happening in your city, it could be reported as spam and result in a ban. This is what happened to me when I shared a link to a Pride party happening in NYC. I was banned without any warning or explanation.
When I contacted Grindr's customer service, they told me that I had violated their Terms of Service by sending spam and that my account would not be reinstated. This was a huge problem for me as I had a Grindr Xtra Subscription. If you have a paid subscription and get banned, it's important to ask for a refund immediately. If they refuse, don't hesitate to file a dispute with your bank or credit card issuer.
The dispute process is quite simple and results in the money you paid being clawed back. For instance, if you paid $10 for a monthly subscription and file a dispute, you will get your money back and Grindr will receive a chargeback fee which usually ranges between $50-$100. This can be quite costly for Grindr, especially if they receive multiple disputes. If enough people file disputes, they will have to change their policies and start listening to their users.
It's important to stand up for yourself and not let Grindr walk all over you. If you get banned without any warning or justification, let their customer service know that you will be filing a dispute unless they give you an immediate refund or remove the ban. This will not only help you get your money back but also send a message to Grindr that they need to treat their users with more respect.
Grindr Review: Aggressive Members, Sketchy Rules, and Disappointing Features
Grindr is an app that has been hyped up by many, but it's not worth the $11 price for full features. The app is just as bad as adam4adam, and it leans towards being more date/meet-up and hang out oriented. However, the first thing you'll notice are torso pics galore. It's like their habitat is growing! The other issue is the downright aggressiveness and rudeness of the members when they message you. They demand face pics and private pics to the point that it's frighteningly harassing. They are just too horny or holier than thou to have any civility. If you're not their type, they'll let you know bluntly themselves or in their profiles with passive aggressiveness of threats, even if you just want friendship or just to hang out.
When you initiate a conversation, it's not anything to write to your mother about. The people want to know where you are, demand photos, or talk about how horny they are almost 30 seconds in. That or they don't respond at all and not even provide a courtesy message. They don't like ice-breaking "small-talk" (they pretty much Inceptioned the ice with the way they behave, though). There are diamonds in the rough, but it's just not worth the wait.
Other than the community, the app itself is bad with their sketchy rules on pictures. If you show "a little" too much skin, any piece of underwear, it results in banishment without much of a warning. It happens to only a handful of members when there's an abundance of them. There's also the spam "too-good-to-be-true" messages where an attractive guy messages you in a frisky mood and tries to get you to pay more for a webcam chat feature. Honestly, what has the gay community come to? If you like a community like this, then good luck.
Grindr's Disgusting Treatment of Customers: Banned Without Explanation for "Spammy Activity
I just can't believe how Grindr treats their customers. My friends have told me horror stories about how they've been treated by Grindr support staff. They've been banned without any explanation at all. I've been using Grindr on and off for 10 years and they never banned me until recently. I was banned a while back and I couldn't figure out why. I registered again with a new email address a few days ago and was banned again tonight. When I emailed them, all they said was that my profile was reported for "Spammy activity." Can you believe it?
I messaged them back and told them that it's clearly someone local harassing me by falsely reporting me, but they didn't even bother to check. These cowboys are part of the reason why the gay world is falling apart. They have no morals or interest in their customers. They just take, take, take! If they had any decency, they would be embarrassed by their bullying way of making money. I've read some of the reviews and responses, and one generic response in particular stood out to me. They said they can ban anyone at any time for any reason.
I don't understand how they can get away with that. It seems like they can ban you just because they don't like your face, color, profile, or orientation. It's absolutely disgusting! They should be ashamed of themselves and their false ethics. And don't bother with your generic fake responses, Grindr. I'm going to complain to Google. I don't know how app regulations work, but this can't be right. You can't treat people like scum! You are a disgrace!
Grindr Review: Terrible Customer Service, Bugs, Scammers, and Banning Without Explanation
I wrote a review about Grindr before, and let me tell you, it wasn't great. But now, it's even worse. I've paid for two one-year memberships over the years, and both times I've had issues. One problem that's been going on for at least four years is that blocked profiles become unblocked for no reason. And now, the app locks up for a whole minute when you first open it, and they can't explain why. Plus, there are drug dealers and scammers trying to get you to join their fake websites that require credit cards. We report them, but nothing ever happens.
But get this: yesterday I was BANNED! Yes, banned! And they won't even tell me why. All they say is that they got "reports" that I broke their rules. When I asked which rules, they wouldn't say. They just kept saying it was based on "reports" (see attached pic).
I've been using this service for years without any problems, and now all of a sudden, I'm banned without any explanation. Their agent Cesco thinks this is okay, even though I asked four times what I did wrong. Their customer service is terrible!
If you decide to use Grindr, stick with the free version. It's not worth it to pay for a subscription. There are too many bugs and scammers. Be careful who you talk to. If someone's picture looks too good to be true, it probably is. And if they say they're in the military but show up in your area, it's a scam. And don't fall for the scam where they say you need to join a service to prove who you are because they were attacked.
I'm warning you now: there are plenty of other great apps out there.
Grindr: A Warning About the Dangers of Using This App
Grindr is an app that has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. It has been linked to numerous crimes, including robbery, assault, and even murder. As a concerned citizen, I feel it is my duty to warn others about the dangers of using this app.
According to news reports, there have been several instances where users of Grindr have been targeted by criminals. In Atlanta, for example, police have warned that robbers are using the app to target victims. Similarly, in Dallas, a man pleaded guilty to using the app to carry out violent attacks and robberies on gay men.
These incidents are not isolated. There have been reports of similar crimes linked to other dating apps like Tinder. However, Grindr seems to be particularly vulnerable to such crimes. This is because it is primarily used by the LGBTQ+ community, which is already marginalized and vulnerable to hate crimes.
As a user of Grindr, you need to be aware of these risks. You should exercise caution when using the app and avoid meeting strangers in secluded places. It is also important to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
In conclusion, Grindr is not a safe app to use. It has been linked to numerous crimes, and users need to be aware of the risks. If you are looking for a dating app, there are many other options available that are safer and more reliable.
Grindr Review: Location Issues, Laggy Messages, and No Refunds - Is It Worth the Price?
Grindr ain't perfect, that's for sure. I used to shell out for the unlimited version, but in Canada it's a whopping $37.99 before taxes, and then you gotta add another 13% on top of that. And what do you get for all that cash? Well, for starters, it takes forever for the app to update your location if you move from one city to another. I'm in Ontario, and if I go from Kitchener to London or Kitchener to Toronto, it's like pulling teeth to get Grindr to recognize where I am. I've got all the location permissions turned on, but no dice. And it's not like other apps have this problem. I've contacted customer service a few times, but they always blame it on my phone or some setting I've got wrong. It's never their fault.
So I thought maybe upgrading to the Samsung S20 Ultra 5G would help. Nope. Same problem. So I downgraded to the Xtra version, but that's not much better. I get laggy messages all the time, and the app constantly shows "no connection" even when I'm in the middle of a chat. This happened with my old phone, too, which was a not-so-old S10 Plus. And it happened with both the unlimited and the Xtra versions. I've reset my phone more times than I can count, but the problems persist.
And it's not like I'm in some backwater town with no internet. I live in a city with 5G coverage, and I've got a 5G device and a 5G plan from my carrier. But when I leave wifi and switch to 5G or LTE+, it takes forever for Grindr to find a network and reconnect. Sometimes it takes five minutes or more. And this happens all the time. So I'm done paying for Grindr. It's just not worth it.
And don't even get me started on the pandemic. Other sites and apps have been giving out free subscriptions left and right, but not Grindr. And they won't give you a refund for any of the issues you're having, either. The Xtra version isn't much better than the free one, either. It's all or nothing with Grindr. You either pay $37.99 or you get nothing. It's ridiculous. I wish all Grindr users could band together and boycott the app for six months to a year. Maybe then they'd start fixing some of these issues and bringing back some of the features they took away from the unlimited version. But that's never gonna happen. Grindr will just keep taking away features and charging us more and more. It's corporate greed, plain and simple.
Unfairly Banned from Grindr: My Frustrating Experience with the Support Team
I recently joined Grindr and was excited to start meeting new people. However, after only three weeks on the app, I was suddenly banned without any explanation as to why. I reached out to the support team to ask what rule I had broken, but all they told me was to file an appeal. I still had no idea what I had done wrong, and after a week of waiting for a response, I was still left in the dark.
I tried to contact the support team in other ways, but I was completely ignored. I suspect that another member became angry or jealous of me and reported my account, and the staff took their side without even hearing my side of the story. It's frustrating to be punished without any explanation or warning, especially when I was always friendly and respectful to everyone on the app.
I suspect that the person who reported me was upset because I wouldn't meet them or because they were jealous of me. Either way, they wanted to stand in my way of meeting new people and having fun on the app. Meanwhile, other people on the app were breaking rules and behaving badly without any consequences.
I had certain standards and requirements on my profile, such as wanting to chat and get to know someone before meeting in person for safety reasons. However, the support team seemed to view this as a flaw and even gave me bad dating advice. It's important to be cautious when meeting people online, especially since there have been reports of crimes committed by people met through dating apps.
Overall, I feel like the support team at Grindr behaved unfairly and unequally towards me. They seemed to have their own agenda and were willing to break their own rules to punish me without any justification. It's disappointing to have such a negative experience on an app that is supposed to be about meeting new people and having fun. I would not recommend Grindr to anyone based on my experience.
Grindr Review: A Cesspool of Filth and Depravity, Avoid at All Costs
Wow, where do I even begin with this app? Let me tell you, it's a mess. First off, it's so buggy it's ridiculous. You'll have login problems, servers will be down, it won't refresh, and you won't be able to create new accounts. And don't even get me started on the customer service. Good luck getting a response to any problem you're having. But the tech issues are nothing compared to the men who use this site. Sure, there might be a few decent guys on here, but I'd say it's only about 5%. The rest are the dregs of society. Cheating husbands, closet cases, liars, and socially inept individuals who have no idea how to have a real conversation. They just want to swap pics and talk dirty without ever intending to meet in person. It's disgusting.
About a third of the profiles are blank, another third are headless torsos, and the rest show their faces but lack the decency to be embarrassed about being on such a bottom-feeding app. Unfortunately, most of these men have few other options. It's a shame because some of them are physically attractive, but spend five minutes interacting with them online and you'll understand why they're on Grindr. They lack conscience, ethics, and any sense of decency. They're selfish, dishonest, and socially clumsy. It's no wonder they can only get laid on Grindr.
And let's not forget that everyone knows their HIV status. Negative, my [censored]. These married guys who routinely bottom bareback for any dude they can get on this site and then go home to their wives and have unprotected sex with them. It's disgusting and risky behavior. If you ever get a hankering to play Russian Roulette using an STD as the bullet, then Grindr is the place to go.
The men on Grindr are degenerates, idiots, and sociopaths. They're spineless cowards who choose to remain hidden despite the fact that gay men and lesbians have rights now. We can even get married! But these guys have no cojones. The most effeminate, flamboyant drag queen has a bigger set of stones than these men do. They're in massive denial.
Before the days of computers and cell phones, these are the guys who would hang out in parks and public restrooms, giving decent gay men a bad name. And that's what Grindr is at its core: an online public restroom. Supposedly, Grindr has around 10,000,000 people worldwide as a user base, but that doesn't mean it's a good app. Just because 10,000,000 people have a stupid idea doesn't make it any less stupid.
The little good that Grindr does, connecting isolated and lonely gay men, is far outweighed by the damage it's doing. It's allowing us to treat each other as nothing more than disposable sex objects and perpetuating the lie that our lives are dirty, unhappy, and unfulfilling. It's time to come out of the shadows and stop hiding behind people who love us. We need to stand up and be proud of who we are.
In conclusion, don't go near this app. It's a cesspool of filth and depravity. I need a long, hot shower just thinking about it.
Grindr Review: Is It Worth the Cost and Risk?
Grindr is an app that you can use for free, but it's not as free as you might think. Once you start using it, you'll find yourself wanting more and more. You'll want to see more profiles and pictures, and you'll want to be able to do more things. That's when Grindr will start to trap you. They'll offer you a cheap membership that seems like a good deal, but it's really just a way to get you to spend more money. And once you've spent that money, you'll find that you still don't have access to everything you want. You'll have to pay even more to get the features you really want.
But that's not the worst part. The worst part is that Grindr doesn't really care about you. They don't care if you're happy with their service, and they don't care if you get kicked off for no reason. If you do get kicked off, you won't get a refund. You won't even get an explanation. You'll just get an automated email telling you that you broke the rules. And if you try to complain, you'll just get another automated email telling you that you're out of luck.
So, is Grindr worth it? That's up to you. If you're willing to spend a lot of money for a service that might kick you off for no reason, then go ahead and use it. But if you're looking for a service that actually cares about its customers, then you might want to look elsewhere. And if you're really desperate, you might want to try standing on a street corner or buying a vibrator instead.
Grindr Review: Nightmare Experience with Asian Scammers and Terrible Customer Support
I recently had a terrible experience with Grindr, and I must say, it was a complete nightmare. I had been using the app for a while now, and I had never encountered any issues until recently. I had written a comparison of the Asian scammers that are all over the app, and I simply pointed out that Asian is a continent, not a race or nationality. I didn't use any hate speech or anything like that, but one of their moderators got offended and banned me almost instantly.
The worst part is that I have been trying to get back into my account for over 24 hours now, and I have not been able to talk to a single human being. I have sent multiple messages to their customer support, but all I get is an automated response. It's like they don't care about their customers at all. And to make matters worse, I had some important information on my account that I needed to give to the police, but they won't let me access it.
I have also noticed that the app has become very toxic lately. There are so many scammers, drug dealers, and prostitutes on there, and it seems like the company doesn't care at all. They used to release security patches to protect their users, but they haven't done anything in a long time.
The app is also filled with ads now, and they are so annoying. They pop up all the time, and they are very distracting. And to top it all off, the prices for their packages are outrageous. If you spend money on their app, you will probably get banned instantly.
Overall, I would not recommend Grindr to anyone. It's a complete mess, and the company doesn't seem to care about their customers at all. If you have any issues with them, I suggest you contact your local State's Attorney General and file a Consumer Protection complaint. It's just not worth the time or money to deal with this app.
I was banned for no reason, ive been paying for their Xtra subscription for years now
I was banned for no reason, ive been paying for their Xtra subscription for years now. I tried to reach out and they gave me file ticket number. But no response from a human. Im just mad that i paid that much money for a business that would ban people for no reason.
Banned on app for no reason at all! Stay away . Grindr headed out apparently
Hi there. A week or 2 ago I got banned and for the life of me I do not know why. I've used grindr for many years and I'm confused as to why this has happened. If anyone can help that would be good really helpful.
I ended up having to uninstall the app and reinstall it due to a system update. When trying to create a profile again it wouldn't accept my phone number. Normally I would say its something wrong with my device but I have verified with my phone number on numerous occasions. I even ensured I deleted the last profile just for good measure but their app will not accept it. After 2 weeks of trying and they not having any real customer service contact I re-uninstalled and canceled the subscription. I wouldn't recommend them even if they are the most popular since it seems like they don't actually care about helping their client base.
Banned for no reason. Support responds that they cannot tell me the reason, they won't lift the ban, and they will not hear my case further. I suspect they are discriminating against users for race and political affiliation. They need to be investigated.
I was banned out of nowhere a few moments ago
I was banned out of nowhere a few moments ago. Was using the app and then all the sudden got banned completely. Pretty sure they banned my IMEI number as well which is beyond not ok. They offer no explanation as to why I'm banned and emailing them gives me no response but from a robot saying the same stuff over and over. This is not fair as I have done nothing wrong at all.
I was enjoying this app for a few years now, recently this past week, I got a lifetime ban on my device without any reason or explanation why. If I was given a soft ban, or was told what happened I might be more understanding, but their process of banning, and customer service is awful. I'm just glad I never paid for a subscription. It's almost ben over a week and I'm still waiting for a response or explanation to why I was banned. I'm extremely disappointed and confused, especially after using their service for so long without issue.
I was banned on grindr multiple times and I don't ever know why. Every time I try to reach out to them they never respond to me and I personally think it's because people on the app themselves disagree with me not wanting to 'hookup' with them. The first time I emailed them they didn't even respond for almost *** near 6 months and I just think that's absolutely unfair and their response was that I was "impersonating" therefore I'm posing as somebody else which I don't understand because I linked it to my Instagram account which is ALSO mine and I've taken Live Photo's on the app with my face in it! I don't understand what I could possibly be doing wrong. I've blocked people that have catfished me or tried catfishing me! I don't hate the app but I shouldn't have to wait for so much time for a ridiculous response. I'm literally just a 20 year old gay guy trying to live my life and meet new people. I finally started conversing with someone and CLICKED with someone and I literally woke up the next day to my account being banned for whatever reason! It's not easy out in this world now a days. I just want my account back. Please and thank you.
I have been using the since long time maybe more than 5 years and recently I have been banned and reason is also not disclosed... Many people over app ban other due to hateredness if they don't reply ... Can you please help me get my account back ...
I was banned unfairly and for a very vague and generic reason. They don't give any specific answers to the ban and just go around in circles. I did nothing wrong other than reject someone who then reported me out of spite. I was paying for Xtra and they did not refund me, not even a pro-rated amount. What I don't understand is, why do they block unnecessary users like myself, yet they continue to allow hookers, drug users/drug dealers and third party website promoters? I hope Grindr gets fined and forces them to reconsider their idiotic policies!

Been using Grindr for years, then suddenly banned. I've broken no terms of service. I recently logged back in, had no negative conversations, no external links, no new pic uploads, then was randomly banned without reason. I've sent several e-mails with no response. I had 2 scammers trying to get me to go to their external site prior to getting banned though so I have a feeling it has something to do with them.

AWFUL! Both of my iPhones were BANNED for life for nothing... I violated no rules, they won't tell me what on my profile violated the rules. They keep saying my account was reported and they take reports very seriously... but just because someone reported my account doesn't mean I actually did anything wrong.. I could have turned down the wrong person and they were spiteful for all I know! All I asked for was an explanation and they couldn't give me one, just kept saying the ban will NOT be lifted... After I cancelled my subscription, due to my account being banned, they CHARGED me $20 the next morning! And they then told me in the email they have a right to ban my account and deny a refund... On top of all that, I can't even sell this phone as in perfect working condition any longer, bc the IMEI number is banned from Grindr... All my friends are gay, so what gay man is going to want to buy an iPhone that can't even use Grindr?! This is complete and utter BS. This new "Device Ban" policy is trash and CLEARLY *** off a lot of customers. I've been using Grindr for years and then suddenly, I'm reported so I'm gone. Yeah that fair.
My experience with Grindr was horrible
My experience with Grindr was horrible. Most of the users are illegal escorts, drug dealers and users. Most of the profiles are fake. I've heard ppl getting robbed and or just set up for negative reasons. Users sometimes follow the distance to find others and that makes it very unsafe. I've had two men come to my home uninvited from Grindr. This site needs to be shutdown. It is not a safe site to be on.
Banned without warning for OnlyFans.
I started using OnlyFans in January for extra income. Then Covid happened and I lost a job and really needed the money. I had a link in my bio for months. I didn't really promote it other than that. I still used the app to talk to people, met up with a guy or two. Then out of nowhere about a week ago in May, I find out my account had been banned. I thought ok, someone got mad I wasn't responding and must've reported me or something. So I ask Grindr why I'm banned and they say apparently I'm spamming people just for having the link in my bio.
Ok, I didn't know that was against the rules. They didn't even give me a warning. The customer service rep kept telling me they don't have to give me a warning and that the ban won't be lifted, even when I offered to not do it again. I've been a Grindr Plus user before too. I just can't believe me having a link in my bio is somehow ban worthy, but there are plenty of meth heads on the app soliciting the sale and use of crystal meth. Yet their accounts are not getting deleted.
I think the Complaintsboard.com or maybe even the FBI should investigate Grindr and why they're allowing people to promote illicit drug use, and banning users for having a link to another social media account.
I was banned for no reason and when I tried to contact them nobody replied and I am still waiting I am unable to make a new page because whenever I try to it says that page had been banned but I have yet to still get contacted by any of them
Banned without a warning on grindr for absolutely no reason. They won't provide me with the reason as to why I was banned and the closest thing I could think of is that I had a joke in my bio about a sugar daddy and they replied to my support requests by telling me I was banned because of soliciting or advertising prostitution. I've been trying to get my account unbanned for about a week now and I keep getting the same automated responses. What upsets me most about this is that there was no warning or any chance for redemption and now I can't even create a new account because my email was apparently tied into my vpn so I can't create any kind of account with the app. They won't explain to me why my account was banned and they just keep saying the same things over and over again. I tried telling them it wouldn't happen again and they replied to that extremely rudely saying I shouldn't have done it in the first place. Well how was I supposed to know not to make a JOKE in the first place!?

A user sent me a racist comment, so I reported him to Grindr requesting the user to be banned as racism should not be tolerated for any reason whatsoever. However, Grindr didn't do anything. Now I know that Grindr is a horrible company that doesn't care about doing the right thing. I don't know if the developer is gay, but if he is, he should know better than condoning any type of discrimination. Shame on Grindr.
Had my account for years and banned out of nowhere
Had my account for years and banned out of nowhere. Not allowed to make a new account. I do amateur work so grindr is a huge part of that so this isn't just going to affect my personal life. On top of that I've paid for Xtra. They can't even give me real responses. Its all *** automated stuff and they just end up saying/referring to the we can ban you for whatever whenever. Terrible company. Hopefully they all get corona since the Chinese own them now.

Being Banned
I went to log in on 10/29/2023 to my account only to find out I was banned. No explanation. I have filled out the required form to appeal the ban. The only response was that I would hear back, and to try another browser to see if that worked. I only have 1 phone, and to use on a computer, you need their unlimited plan I believe. I was a member in their most expensive plan, yet can't use that on a PC as I was banned. It is now 11/13 and still n o response from them, Are you able to intercede by chance? Account was under the email [protected]@gmail.com. Please feel free to reach out to me at my email [protected]@gmail.com or my cell [protected].
Thanks,
Ronald O. Williams
Desired outcome: Reinstate my account.
Grindr account banned for no reason!
I'm now one of the many who GRINDR has chosen to BAN for no legitimate reason! It happened Sunday (Sept 20, 2023)!
I have filled out the appeal form twice and included the screenshot of the ACCOUNT BAN SCREEN! Even cancel my yearly subscription.
I have been using GRINDR for many years, and like others am very disappointed and frustrated that GRINDR (due to some cyber error or hacker) has deemed it necessary to close my account.
I would expect GRINDR's appeal board to sort this out as soon as possible and not have to wait weeks/months to get my account restored & re-instated!
Desired outcome: I want GRINDR to review my Ban Appeal and re-instate my account as soon as possible.
Delete app log in and it still banned.
Grindr account banned for no reason!
I'm now one of the many who GRINDR has chosen to BAN for no legitimate reason! It happened yesterday (12/09/23) and there was actually an ERROR 27 message underneath the ban message!
I have filled out the appeal form twice and included the screenshot of the ACCOUNT BAN SCREEN with the error message showing underneath!

Account banned by mistake; support will not lookup my account
On July 10, 2023 my account was banned by mistake. I have read through the community guidelines and TOS and I have not violated any of the states guidelines. I have been a member since 2014 without any prior issues so I am confident that the ban was made in error. After filling out the bans appeal form and receiving the automated email asking to confirm I submitted the form, I sent in my information including the screenshot showing the ban page, my account page showing my account email as well as other account information. Despite providing accurate information, I received an automated message stating that it was incorrect and closed the support ticket. I have verified that all information provided, providing screenshots of the account page that shows the correct email used on the account. The process was repeated again, once again with correct information, and received the same automated message. As a result I am filing this complaint in order to regain access to my account and talk to support to figure out why this mistake might've happened in the first place.
Desired outcome: I would like my account unbanned.
Disappointing App: Greedy Business Model and Annoying Spam
This app was pretty cool when I first started using it, but then they started asking for money. I get it, nothing is free in this world, but they just kept asking for more and more. They started putting ads everywhere and offering paid accounts with more features. I was okay with that, but then they got super greedy. They started asking for a yearly subscription for their Xtra account, and then they started taking away features that I had already paid for. It's like they were changing the rules in the middle of the game. And then they wanted me to buy their overpriced unlimited version. No way, man. I'm not going to keep paying for something that doesn't give me much more than a free account.
And don't even get me started on the age verification and spam. They have no control over that stuff, and it's really annoying. Plus, there are way too many escort profiles on there. It's like they're using the LGBT+ community to make money, and that's not cool. They should be sued for that.
I really hope that a new app comes along soon that doesn't just want to take our money. This app had a bad strategy, and I'm done with it.
Grindr Review: A Hot Mess of Bots, Fake Profiles, and Ego-Driven Users
I gotta say, Grindr ain't all it's cracked up to be. I mean, sure, it's supposed to be a way for us LGBTQ+ folks to connect and find love (or at least a good time), but in reality it's just a hot mess. First off, there's so many bots and fake profiles on there that it's hard to tell who's real and who's not. And don't even get me started on the useless ads and stupid popups that constantly interrupt your swiping.
But even when you do find someone who seems legit, there's always the chance that they're using fake pictures or lying about who they are. And let's not forget about the guys with huge egos who think they're God's gift to the world. Like, dude, calm down.
And if you're over 40? Forget about it. You better lie about your age if you want anyone to even give you the time of day. It's like once you hit a certain age, you're no longer desirable or worthy of love.
But the worst part? The way people treat each other on there. I live in a small town with no LGBTQ+ community to speak of, so I thought Grindr would be a good way to meet other queer folks. Boy, was I wrong. The amount of rudeness and condescension I've experienced on that app is unreal. It's like my fellow LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters have forgotten what it means to support and uplift each other. Instead, it's all about tearing each other down and making ourselves feel superior.
I've even seen physical and verbal threats being thrown around on there. It's disgusting. And for what? A chance to hook up with someone? Is it really worth it to treat someone like garbage just because they don't fit your idea of the perfect partner?
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend Grindr to anyone. It's a pointless and useless app that does more harm than good. I'd have better luck finding love (or at least a decent hookup) with an escort agency.
Disappointed with Grindr: App not delivering on preferences and flooded with undesirable matches
I've been using Grindr for almost a week now, and I have to say, I'm not too impressed. I accidentally dropped my phone one day and had to log back in, but since then, all I've been doing is getting screwed around by half-wits on the app. I set my preferences to only show people close to me, but instead, I'm getting matches from people who are 23, 50, and even 100 miles away! What the heck is wrong with this app?
I understand that it can be tough to find someone who's interested in you, but it seems like everyone on here thinks they're better than me. I'm a good-looking guy, even if I am 57 years old, but all I'm seeing are a bunch of ugly bad hogs who think they're hot stuff. And don't even get me started on the teeny boppers who think they're God's gift to the world. It's getting old, and I'm tired of it.
Honestly, I don't think Grindr is worth my time anymore. The way they run their app is ridiculous. They let all the gross, no-good people on the free version, while the people who might actually respond to me are on the paid version. It's not fair, and I don't agree with it. If they don't fix my app soon, I'm going to delete it and move on to something else.
Grindr+: A Complete Disaster - Buggy, Expensive, and Full of Catfishes and Bots
This app is a complete disaster. I don't even know where to start. First of all, you have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for Grindr+. And let me tell you, it's not worth it. The app is so buggy that it crashes all the time. And don't even get me started on the "lost chats" feature. It happens so often that they should just make it a pre-loaded saved phrase.
The users on this app are a mess. You've got catfishes, time wasters, bullies, bluffers, and bots. It's like a gay version of the Wild West. Sure, you might find some good guys and have a good time, but it's rare. Most of the time, you'll just waste hours of your life scrolling through profiles and chatting with people who aren't even real.
And let's not forget about the impact this app has had on the gay community. It's killed the culture of cruising and nightlife. Young gays are losing their swagger and their social skills because they're spending all their time on this app. It's a shame, really.
But I guess Grindr isn't all bad. It's a novelty, I suppose. But if it disappeared tomorrow, the world would be a better place.
Grindr Review: Overpriced, Unsafe, and Unreliable - A Breeding Ground for Scams and Dangerous Situations
I recently tried out Grindr and I have to say, I was not impressed. First off, the cost of a one month paid review is $19.99 which is pretty steep for a dating app. And to make matters worse, the app is owned by China which makes me a bit uneasy about my personal information being shared.
The support for this app is terrible as well. You can only contact them through email and they take forever to respond. Not to mention, there isn't enough description space on the app which makes it difficult to really get to know someone before chatting with them.
The worst part about Grindr is that it's not worth the risk. It's free to chat and review profiles which makes it a breeding ground for scams and dangerous situations. I've heard of people dying from using this app which is just unacceptable.
After paying for the app, there's a 90% chance of getting banned for something you didn't even do. And when you try to contact support, they're no help at all. It's just too easy to open an account and there are countless scams happening overseas and abroad.
To make matters worse, Grindr has committed fraud with the help of Apple Store.com countless times. One reviewer even said "They are thieves" which I couldn't agree with more. Apple should really know better than to allow this kind of behavior.
Overall, we need a better dating site that supports itself through ads and has lower membership fees for everyone. The security on these apps needs to be tightened to prevent any more deaths or dangerous situations. We all deserve love and it's hard enough to find in the gay community as it is. Investors need to stop getting rich off of people's attempts at finding love and start making a real difference.
Disappointing App: Unfair Bans and Poor Customer Service
This app ain't worth the cash they're taking! They seem to get a kick out of banning folks. Sometimes they ban for the dumbest reasons and without any warning or heads up. But hey, we get it, they got their guidelines and all. But when people are shelling out their hard-earned dough for a membership and are loyal customers, you gotta find a way to fix the issue instead of just taking their money and shutting down their profiles. If banning accounts with membership is so easy, why is giving people their money back such a hassle? I was a regular user, super active for about 5 years, but I ain't paying again. Other apps give more freedom and respect their paying customers. There's a block option for any member who ain't feeling the convo with someone else. No need for the app team to act like our parents and ban folks left and right. This app is on the decline, folks.
But, I gotta give it up to the app for finally pushing me to stop using it. I was always thinking I needed to quit at some point to save time and money for other things in my life, and then my account got closed! So, thanks for that, I guess.
Grindr Review: Disappointing Subscription Price Hike and Lack of Community Support
I've been using Grindr for a solid decade now, and let me tell you, it's been a wild ride. Unfortunately, it seems like the app has taken a turn for the worse in recent years. The subscription price has skyrocketed from a reasonable ?6 a month to a whopping ?20 a month, and even then, you're getting fewer features than before. It's like they want you to pay ?40 a month for the unlimited membership, which is just ridiculous.
What's worse is that the app is owned by straight people who don't seem to care about our community at all. It's all about profits for them. And don't even get me started on the algorithms they use to permanently ban members. I was recently banned for seemingly no reason at all, despite being a long-time user who knows the ins and outs of the app and its community guidelines. I've tried reaching out to the team multiple times, but I haven't received any response. It feels like they're just trying to steal money from us.
If you're an EU citizen, I highly recommend sending Grindr a GDPR request. They legally have to hand over any and all data they have on you, including any internal notes they may have made about your account. It's worth a shot, at least.
All in all, I'm really disappointed in Grindr. I think it's time for us queer folks to find a new place to connect and celebrate our sexuality. Let's leave this dumpster fire behind and move on to something better.
Grindr Review: A Nightmare of Criminals and Unsafe Behavior
My experience with Grindr has been nothing short of a nightmare. I've had the worst time imaginable on this site. I was mugged by a guy and his gang, and when I tried to warn others in the area by writing on my profile, I was permanently banned without any explanation. His profile was allowed to remain, and he met others, probably to groom them. They came and told me about it, but I couldn't do anything about it.
When I tried to complain and get a refund for my annual subscription, all my emails and messages were flat ignored. They had obviously banned my home IP and my phone IPs. There are drug dealers, muggers, con artists, prostitutes, violent people, hidden profiles, no security measures, terrible customer service, it is the most expensive, you get stood up a lot, people are rude, nearly everyone is practicing unsafe sex. I was a victim of crime twice through this site, and they offered absolutely no support or advice. They just banned me for posting a warning statement to my community.
It's a terrible site, and the owners do not care enough to even explain why you get banned, even when you point out that you are entitled to information under Data Protection laws. They do not deserve their licenses. They should not be trusted with public safety.
I would not recommend this site to anyone. It's a breeding ground for criminals and unsafe behavior. The lack of security measures and customer support is appalling. The fact that they banned me for trying to warn others about a dangerous individual shows that they do not care about their users' safety. It's a shame that such a site exists, and I hope that people will stay away from it.
Grindr Review: Unjustified Ban, Lack of Support, and Security Concerns
I recently had a negative experience with Grindr, the popular LGBT dating site. Unfortunately, I was banned from the site for reasons that I believe were unjustified. When I reached out to customer support for assistance, I received a canned response accusing me of bullying, harassment, and racism. This was extremely upsetting to me, as I have never engaged in any of these behaviors.
I requested a transcript of my chat history to better understand what had happened, but was told that this was not possible. Despite sending numerous follow-up emails, I never received a response from customer support. This lack of communication and support is unacceptable, especially for a site that serves a vulnerable population.
In addition to my personal experience, I have noticed that Grindr is plagued by spam, commercial messages, and even drug peddlers. These individuals are able to easily recreate accounts after being banned, which is a serious security concern. Furthermore, there seems to be no uniformity in moderating user photos, as some suggestive images are allowed while others are not.
I reported some of these issues to Grindr, but instead of addressing them, I was banned from the site. This is a clear indication that the customer support team lacks a customer-focused approach and does not prioritize the needs of their users. It is disappointing to see such a large and influential site treat the LGBT community with such disrespect and disregard.
Overall, I would caution anyone considering using Grindr to be aware of these issues and to proceed with caution. While the site may have some benefits, the lack of support and security concerns make it a risky choice for many users.
Grindr Review: Beware of Scams, Addicts, and Potential Crime
Grindr is a dating app that many people use for socializing, dating, and hookups. I think it's important to share my experience with this app so that people can be aware and not have a false sense of security.
I've had a paid membership with Grindr before and it was okay, but there are way too many potential scams from new members. Some of these members have very dated pictures from the 90s and misinformation about their stats. The pictures don't seem to match with the person's weight or age, which makes it obvious that they're probably bots or robots. Fake people constantly ask for my phone number to text and comment on how attractive I am, even though I have no picture except for one with the beach or nature. I value my privacy, so I don't like giving out my phone number to strangers.
There are also many METH addicts on Grindr who try to get me to buy them drugs, which I immediately block. Additionally, there are a lot of guys with roses, which means they're hustlers or prostitutes. The potential for crime seems to be when someone immediately asks what my job is or if I'm alone. Although it's not necessarily a crime, it's noticeable when it's immediate.
I stopped alerting Grindr about the scams because it has gotten out of hand. There are too many to count. However, it seems to have gotten better in my area, which is 60 miles from a major city. When I googled murders and assaults on Grindr alone, it was very alarming. I'm sure they're working on this, but it seems to be mostly on Grindr and not so much on some of the other apps.
I'm writing this review so that people don't naively give too much information to someone they don't know. It's important to be aware and act accordingly.
I was banned from Grindr on May 28th
I was banned from Grindr on May 28th. I don't feel this is justified, and have asked for specific examples which have been declined citing use terms. On May 28th, I was suddenly banned from Grindr. I have been a loyal customer for 8 years, so I immediately contacted the company thinking there was an error that had been made. Unfortunately, I had the displeasure of speaking with *** in Grindr Support via email who advised me that I had violated their terms and conditions. Because of that, my account ban would not be lifted. I responded via email and requested that a supervisor review my account and provide me with specific examples regarding why my account was suddenly banned. I am paying for this service and have been for quite some time now. If Grindr wants to ban me from using their platform, I feel that a justifiable reason should be provided - including examples. Instead of doing what I had requested, *** did not forward my request to a supervisor. Instead, he responded with a very unprofessional tone and referred me to two sections of Grindr's terms and conditions. Those emails are included in the attached documents. I still have not been given any specific examples regarding why I was banned. I am almost positive I know the individual who reported my profile, and they reported it because I turned them down for a date. I have consistently followed the policies and procedures set forth by Grindr, and feel that this account ban isn't fair. I was never warned about any of my behavior and I have never been banned in the past. Considering I am paying for this service, I feel that the company has an obligation to contact me before simply banning my account - I was never given an opportunity to defend myself from any accusations made and proof was never provided. I reviewed the terms and conditions thoroughly and I am positive I did not commit any act that violated the described requirements. It frustrates me because I see people on Grindr ALL the time who are soliciting illegal narcotics, ***, etc. and those accounts are still active. However, the 8 year customer who keeps to himself is the one that gets banned. How is this appropriate?

Grindr suspended and banned my paid account for no reason. I never violated any guidelines
Hi, I was a paying user of Grindr's service when I was suddenly banned unfairly and given no opportunity to prove my identity. After I had accused a profile on the website of being a catfish, they tried to turn it around on me and said that I instead was the catfish and that they were reporting me as such. I'm clearly not a catfish but about 4 hours later I was banned from my account and as a result, my money spent with Grindr was essentially stolen, considering I had just re-upped for another 3 months. When I reached out or Grindr for help and sent them the verification they asked for, they simply replied that "we understand why you would want more information on this. However, for privacy and safety reasons, we cannot provide any more specifics about why your account was closed." I was falsely banned and given no opportunity whatsoever to prove my identity and am now left extremely frustrated and feel that I have been wronged here. I have tried all that I can and followed all the steps Grindr provides to resolve these issues but they are simply telling me to*** now, all because some actual catfish reported me after I called them out. This is totally unfair and I would love for you to assist me here in righting this wrong. I've attached a screenshot of the ban screen below, along with Grindr's response. Please help me fix this.
I pay for a subscription service for chat. The app doesn't send messages. I have repeatedly requested that the issue be fixed. Also am seeking to have subscription extended for an additional year.
They ban me from using the service for a unknown reason. When they did it I requested multiple times for the reason and copies of the "proof" all were ignored (asked to send to two different email). They canceled my subscription 6 days after paying it and kept the whole amount They have no outside 3rd party to review their decisions so they can cancel without reason or show proof and keep the subscription money. I don't have any examples of what happened because none were provided to me.
Banned from Grindr after years as a satisfied, paying customer; not offered any specific reason for the ban
Banned from Grindr after years as a satisfied, paying customer; not offered any specific reason for the ban. Not refunded unused subscription. On April 2nd, after many years as a satisfied, paying customer of Grindr services I was astonished to be banned suddenly with no justification other than a form letter response that was pasted and copied onto a chat thread from a Grindr moderator named "***". It cited that the reasons for cancelling my account could include but were not limited to - summarizing - 1) mentions of illegal drugs, 2) use of Grindr for publicity or sexual services or massage and - amazingly - 3) mentions of violence and firearms. I have never committed any of these acts, or any other acts prohibited by Grindr´s rules, a fact which can be easily verified by reading any of my chats or by viewing my profile. I answered ***´s form letter politely and requested that he give me one specific example from my profile that reflected how I had broken Grindr´s terms and conditions. I also asked whether or not it might have been possible for someone to denounce me for malicious reasons (which although possible, would surprise me given that I´ve always acted cordially, never insulting or offending people, and systematically treating them with respect). *** responded with another completely impersonal form letter, including a cut-and-paste response that failed to address my previous question to him, quoting Grindr´s Terms and Conditions 11.3 and 11.4 wherein Grindr reserves the right to cancel at any time if members break the rules. Following reception of the aforementioned form letter which at no time offered me an actual personalized response to my inquiry, Grindr cancelled the call thread and I was no longer able to communicate with Customer Support. At one point in the thread there was a brief mention that I cold claim a refund for the unused portion of the service (about a half year) but when the thread was cancelled I cold no longer view it. So basically, in addition to cancelling my service for no cited or specific reason, Grindr also kept approximately $50 of the money that corresponded to the unused portion of the subscription.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
They banned my account for no reason and didn't even give me a warning. I did not violate any rules and I cannot log in my Grindr account. It seems to be deleted. Grindr needs to follow their terms and conditions which states that a warning will be issues before banning and I didn't get that. Additionally, I did not violate any rules to be banned in the first place. I request Grindr to please unban me ASAP as I rely on this app for my mental health. Desired Outcome If it's a device ban, please unban my device ASAP. My account
On the app Grindr, ban moderation is poorly enforced and innocent users can be banned by being falsely reported by other users. I believe am one such instance of this issue. One day I opened Grindr to see my account banned. Upon contacting Grindr's ban appeal department, they gave me no information whatsoever and said the ban was final (see attached email screenshot). I would like assistance in regaining my account considering I have not been given a reason as for why I was banned and do not believe I did anything to warrant it. Thank you.
I got my account banned for an in-apparent reason and would very much appreciate human verification that the ban was made with best judgment in mind, and if not to get a chance to get said ban lifted.
I have a paid account with this app and for some reason, my account was banned. I have not received any information whatsoever as to why the account was banned. I want them to either tell me why I was banned and lift the ban, or refund my money for the time I had left on the subscription. Thank you.
Grindr banned my account for no apparent reason
Grindr banned my account for no apparent reason. They need to tread lightly when it comes to bans, but due to their *** they choose to not care. I have been banned by Grindr over the last two years while using paid accounts. The bans are never given any reason; they ban blindly because they already have the consumer money. Their contract for the Ultimate account is *** but they don't provide that or a refund if you are banned. I would be less inclined to make a complaint had I done something wrong, but I did nothing wrong. Over the last two years, I have been banned by a specific Grindr member for absolutely no reason whatsoever other than information he reports inaccurately and with mal intent to get my account banned. He is holding a grudge and continues to report my accounts. I'm completely flabbergasted by Grindr's failure to act accordingly by investigating but then learned why from Grindr employee. I originally had a hard time understanding how a company the size of Grindr continues to allow this blind banding to go forth by their help desk. Still, I also remember that Grindr has our money, so they don't care, and that is evident based on how they wrote their terms and conditions. They can and will ban you for no reason (see email attached), which I'll provide to the media should I choose that route is we cant resolve this now. I have had my Macbook Pro banned during the summer of *** but this same guy continues to try and ban my accounts, but when I report him for it, Grindr seeks no disciplinary action against him. And this member has NUMEROUS fake accounts he created in the hundreds that my friends and I noticed in the Washington, D.C., area. Now, I'm again banned from my Ultimate account. My phone, my laptop, since they refuse you by IP address or Mac address. In the past, I have bought new phones to circumvent this since I am innocent, and their policy for banning is entirely flawed and abused by their help desk. In closing, I know Grindr either doesn't care to investigate the matter or simply can't look at our messages to confirm the accuracy of the reporting, and so they produce no evidence of why the ban should remain in effect. That is completely wrong.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
my account with the social media application GRINDR was suspended with no specific reason given except violation of terms. IF I violated the terms of use, I did so unintentionally and I apologize for failing to pay attention to the terms of use. I wish to have my account reinstated as it has become an important social resource on which I have made numerous friends.
My account has been banned several times now for no reason, as grindr states they do not have to have a reason. I am a target on grindr for my political beliefs, my sexual attractions, and

I have been a genuine user of the app for several years and have been banned without warning, proof of wrongdoing or recourse to appeal
I have been a genuine user of the app for several years and have been banned without warning, proof of wrongdoing or recourse to appeal. I have used Grindr for three years without issue with any other users. I have maintained my account despite nearly having to delete it several times due to poor operating glitches etc. Grindr has suddenly banned me without warning. There is no notification of any complaint. I have attempted to raise the issue with Grindr but have only received automated responses to date. As far as I am aware I have done nothing that warrants this action. Indeed, on the morning it happened I had actually been on the receiving end of abuse by a rude and probably fake user. I have reported spam and fake accounts before, to no avail and yet my genuine account has been banned. I suspect an ex partner or a disgruntled user who did not like being turned down has filed a spurious report against my account. I would like Grindr to explain exactly what is supposed to have occurred and to reinstate my account access as normal. Grindr should realise that access to a community is very important, especially in a time of isolation when mental health is an important issue. Archived chats and favourite lists represent relationships and friends - many of which are conducted entirely within Grindr. It is wholly unfair to allow fake users and stalkers to be able to attack genuine users in this way, resulting in genuine users being banned. You should be protecting genuine users and at the very least have some kind of warning system for anyone reported in order for them to question/defend the action. Grindr must also realise the users are adults, engaging in adult conversation which may sometimes include negative language - such is the nature of real world communication on a dating/hookup platform. Being gay is not easy and Grindr represents a portal where those who may be lonely or too shy to try to meet people in bars can be themselves. By automatically banning genuine users and offering no proper helpdesk support in this regard you are failing the very community you purport to represent. Your policies need massive overhaul if you are to deal with this loophole in your system which exposes genuine users and makes them vulnerable to attack.

For some reason Grindr banded me for no reason and I'm still in their subscriptions and I pay monthly. Help me resolve this
I received a ban earlier this year for no apparent recent. I submitted several tickets to appeal the ban and have gotten the same auto reply asking for the same information. After I respond with the information requested, the tickets are marked as solved despite no action being taken. I started to include the information directly on the tickets and reopened old tickets to continue the process but still I get an auto reply and the tickets are marked solved again. I contacted a different avenue of support, and they claimed I never responded to the emails at all. I responded with ticket numbers and screenshots of my email replies and they just told me to open another ticket. My device has been banned and I have not been able to get any information as to why over the past six months and 11 tickets.

I was banned from Grindr without violating their community guidelines or committing any offence
I was banned from Grindr without violating their community guidelines or committing any offence. After using the Grindr app for many years, I woke up on the 13th of July to find out that I had been banned from the Grindr app. I was confused about the situation and thought it must have been a mistake since I hadn't violated its community guidelines. I immediately reached out to Grindr to find out what was wrong, but I got no response for about two days. I sent another message to the Grindr team about the error. I eventually got an email from a representative named ***, informing me that I had been banned for violating the company's community guidelines. The representative told me that they are unable to provide me with more information and that they will not be removing the ban. I was in a state of shock because I didn't understand what was going on. Coming from a violently homophobic country and working to advance LGBTIQ people's rights in unsafe places around the world, I was shocked to find out that a company I respect the work they do would suddenly ban me without any reason whatsoever. I train young LGBTIQ people on how to use Grindr safely, and I have worked with the Grindr foundation team to help advance LGBTIQ causes and equality globally. Unfortunately, the same company woke up one morning and reached a unanimous decision to ban me from using the app and deny me the opportunity to socialize with other LGBTIQ people near me and around the world for no reason. It is not clear to me if anyone reported my account on the app or complained about any inappropriate behavior from me. If this is the case, I expect to be informed about this and ask to defend myself. I have never gotten into any unpleasant issue on the app or misused it or ever been reported on the app. It baffles me why a single report would lead to my being banned from using the app (that is if I was ever reported since I don't know) and without even being allowed to defend myself. I have tried sending several messages to appeal my case. Still, Grindr's representative named Karla keeps insisting the app will not remove the ban on my profile and would not provide me any information on why I was banned. This situation seems like a severe case of oppression to me, and it is unexpected from a company like Grindr that embodies equality and justice.
