Featured review
This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

This website claims to aid homeowners/business owners in the selection process for contractors who are reputable and trustworthy and to also inform the user of who to watch out for.

Here is the reality of Homestars.com/.ca;

They take money from contractors to list with them which completely negates their ability to offer a true unbiased opinion.

When questioned about this I was told that ' we take our site very seriously and accusations very seriously'. Since enlightening Homestars about one of their listed contractors and the fraud in which they engage, I have received no more responses to my claim about Homestars from Homestars.

They have no screening process for the contractors they list. Homestars is a bought and paid for listing service. Homestars concern is not aiding the unsuspecting homeowner but in their own bank account.

Homestars will edit/remove your comments and complaints without explanation or claim that the comment info is not substantiated, they do not apply this same editing to a contractor about to purchase their 'premium' listing service.

Be warned, Homestars is useless unless you are trying to attract potential victims.

I know because I am one of them. See my post on Hawthorne Kitchen Design

Home Star allows fake post when I compalaid about it they said that I opened the site.
Impossible I never heard of home star before they told me I can respond to the fake post.
I said that's not fare they should remove the fake post they told me I should of responded 1 year earlier how could i if I never new it exited?
If they allow not true comments then they are not an ethical company.
If they want to rectify this complaint they can remove the fake post for Canadian Salvaged Timber
whe that is done then I would consider changing my comments Until then my comments stand.

I am tired of Home Stars and similar scams including the BBB which is also a privately owned member based scam. I will be setting up similar website and legal task force against people like this president/ and private companies ruining good companies reputations on line, costing these companies millions ... and that is exactly what we will be getting out of these criminals! This association of business and legal entities will be a final remedy for this online fiasco and money making machine on the backs of business owners.

Please do not bother debating with these so called Presidents regarding illegal posts online and yes they will be liable for these posts ... as at times they are the ones generating the posts to attract business by making them defend phony posts through registration on these Scam websites ... do not play their game ... and as we attract more business owner with wrongfully damaged online reputations, so will the law suites grow and damages into uncountable millions or more. But this will be taken up in courts so don't bother debating here, it is like debating with known criminals about their criminal activities.

This is cheating company.
If you want to put your ad in Homestars be carefull. Initially, They charge your money without any agreement. After that if you ask question about agreement they put your
signature on the agreement without your permission and lie you that you put signature yourself. You even do not know the terms of the contract.
Their contract is for the whole year only and without your right to cancel it.
They will charge money without your permission.
Stay away from this cheaters.
More over, they do not give you any leads. They do not put 5 stars reviews from your clients.

If you are a small company with a tight budget DO NOT sign up with them. Hung up the phone if they call you, otherwise they will harass you until you sign up. Almost 6 months with them and received NOTHING in return. Total scam. We closed the company last month - my partner returned to his country and I went back to my previous job. They are not responding to any attempts to get in touch with them. Horrible scam if you are a small company. Hung up the phone as soon as you hear HomeStars
