On Friday, Sept. 1 (Labor Day Weekend), I began my 9+ hour drive for vacation and approximately 4 hours into my drive, my 2016 Civic began having A/C issues. I had received a letter from Honda a month or so prior to this issue stating that they were extending the warranty for [protected] Civic for an A/C compressor shaft seal leak, with no mileage limitation. On Tuesday, Sept. 5, the day before my 9+ hour trip back home I had freon added so I could make it home in the 90+ degree weather. I took it to an auto shop and they said there were leaks. I paid $302.16 for the service and once I returned home I called Honda regarding reimbursement. I was told Honda will not reimburse me for this expense. The A/C is currently working due to the added freon. I will take to my local Honda dealership to have the repair made. It's not just about the expense, but also the inconvenience and discomfort during my vacation. I believe Honda should reimburse me for this expense as it is a result of the faulty/defective shaft seal.
Desired outcome: Please reimburse $302.16. I would appreciate a response. Thank you for your time and consideration.
