Poor Leak Detection and Customer Service: My Experience with HydroScout
I recently had an experience with HydroScout and it was not a good one. I sent them a check to detect a leak in my home, but unfortunately they did not find the leak in the right spot. This caused a lot of damage to my home and I was not happy about it.
I tried to contact them multiple times over the course of two weeks, but I only received two phone calls back. This was very frustrating for me because I needed to get this issue resolved as soon as possible.
To make matters worse, the owner of HydroScout was very rude to me when I finally did speak with him. He did not take responsibility for the mistake and instead blamed me for the issue.
Overall, I would not recommend HydroScout to anyone. They did not do a good job detecting the leak and their customer service was very poor. If you are looking for a company to help you with a leak in your home, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

HYDROSCOUT! They are a total rip-off and will take your money without doing any work. I was so disappointed with their service and would never recommend them to anyone. Terrible Service and Dishonesty: My Experience with HydroScout
So, I called HydroScout to fix a problem I was having with my water system. They charged me a lot of money for their service, but unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem. When I called them back to let them know, the person who answered the phone was really rude and hung up on me! I couldn't believe it. I feel like they were dishonest about their ability to fix the issue and didn't care about my satisfaction as a customer. Honestly, I wish I could give them negative stars for their terrible service.

So, we had a bit of a problem with our carpet being wet in an area where there shouldn't have been any pipes. Our go-to plumber was unavailable for a few days, so we were left scratching our heads on what to do. We decided to ask our plumber what they would recommend, and they suggested we give HydroScout a call.
We were a bit hesitant at first, but we decided to take the plunge and give them a try. We called them up and they were able to schedule an appointment for the very next day. We were impressed with their promptness and professionalism right off the bat.
When the HydroScout technician arrived, he got right to work. He used some fancy equipment to locate the hidden leak behind our washer/dryer. We were surprised because the wet spot had dry carpet all around it, so we never would have guessed that the problem was behind the washer/dryer.
The technician was able to call our plumber and describe the problem to them, so we didn't have to do any of the explaining ourselves. When our plumber arrived as previously scheduled, it only took them about a half-hour to fix the problem.
We were really impressed with the level of service we received from HydroScout. In these Covid times, it's important to have home maintenance done quickly, thoroughly, and professionally with minimal disruption to our schedules. The fee was exactly what they had quoted us over the phone, so there were no surprises there.
Overall, we would definitely recommend HydroScout to anyone who needs help locating hidden leaks. They were prompt, professional, and got the job done right. We're grateful to have found them and will definitely be calling them again if we ever have any more plumbing issues.
Terrible Experience with HydroScout: Rude Contractors and Unprofessional Owner
This company was sent to me by my insurance company and they sent a contractor named Frank. Frank was a Cuban contractor who met my contractor while I was out of the country. Frank was very rude, angry, and confrontational during his 5-minute inspection. He did not conduct any tests or inspections and only relied on visual detection. When I asked him to review the issues I had with my contractor, he refused and asked to contact me through my housekeeper. He then proceeded to tell me that there were no issues and that the work was previously done. However, I have the walls open and there is mildew. When I asked him to explain further, he started raising his voice and cursing at me. He then hung up the phone and walked out of the house.
It was clear to me that Frank only wanted to collect the money for the inspection from the insurance company without any supervision. I called the office to get more information and spoke to the "owner" Luke. However, Luke left me on the phone for 20 minutes and then called my insurance company to claim that I cursed Frank out. This was all while I had my housekeeper, a contractor, and cameras at the house. When I pressed Luke for an explanation, he was rude, unprofessional, and confrontational. He then hung up the phone on me.
Overall, my experience with HydroScout was terrible. The contractors they sent were rude, unprofessional, and did not conduct proper inspections. The owner, Luke, was also unprofessional and hung up the phone on me. I would not recommend this company to anyone and would advise others to look elsewhere for their inspection needs.
HydroScout's Inspection Report: Non-Professional, Weak, and Useless
I gotta say, I'm not impressed with HydroScout's inspection work and report from 12/30/22. Olympus Insurance requested an inspection, and HydroScout sent an inspector to do the job. But let me tell you, the report they submitted to Olympus Insurance was minimal, irrelevant, and lame. I mean, come on, they only noticed that some water leaked through the insulation around two windows during Hurricane Ian in 2022. That's it. And they call themselves experts?
Anyway, we changed those windows to the best ones on the market, Anderson windows, so the problem around the windows was solved. But guess what? Today, 05/24/2023, it rained in Daytona Beach, nothing special, just 1.2 inches. And what do we find? Water under our wall again. We found water leakage right at the inner edge between the floor and the wall, along 2-3 feet of inner edge. And about 100 ml of water already accumulated inside our house through the wall. This is a serious problem, and it's exactly where we noticed water entering the house during Hurricane Ian last year. And HydroScout failed to detect this.
I'm not trying to be mean, but HydroScout's work was non-professional, weak, useless, and ridiculous. They wasted their own money, Olympus Insurance's money and time, my time, and created confusions and disinformation. They should really verify their inspectors' abilities to be a professional and to understand how to use the equipment. I mean, even a child could notice leakage around those old windows. The real problem was the bad quality of the house at the junction between the wall and the floor, and HydroScout failed to detect this.
I had a bad experience with HydroScout, and I think they need to step up their game. They're not helping the health of our community with their irrelevant, non-professional, zero-science, zero-result, zero-efficiency results. It's a pity they waste Olympus Insurance's money and time. Maybe they should give their equipment to real professionals.
