Inbox.com Scam artists for sure. Taking $39.96 from my account. Will not refund.

BIG SCAM company! Once you sign up and pay their $39.96 fee this email company will continue to auto-collect that yearly fee without pre-notice. I've been trying unsuccessfully to get a refund from this email account that I no longer use. Have to let others know about them or they will continue to abuse and fraud people. When I saw a payment was in a pending autopayment state I tried calling them as well as my bank to stop payment. I was unsuccessful and it went through anyway. Now I've been going back and forth for almost a month with this company support to get a refund, because I do not want to continue with this email account. They adamantly refuse to refund even though I have closed the account.

Desired outcome: Refund my $39.96

Inbox.com email service

INBOX.COM will block your account and request $$ without notice. They did this to me twice in the last year. They will not unblock you account unless you pay. This is a scam to get customer to pay extra $$ on top of there subscription fees.

I contacted customer service and had several exchanges with them. They absolutely refused to unblock my account for a few hours unless I pay extra fees on top of what I already had paid, and they refused to let me talk to a supervisor. They simply apologized for not given me notice.

I explained that I was unhappy with this and wanted to cancel my subscription, however, I needed to print a few documents. They still refused to unblock my account for a few hours unless I paid unblocking fees.

Inbox.com cancelled $8.88 a year plan to $3.33/mon plan the following year

It seems like they went from sort of bait of switch tactic in that they cancelled its free email service plan to $8.88 a year, which is reasonable, last year. Now, they cancelled that plan, and you have to change to the same plan at $3.33/month, $39.90 a year, which is about 4.5 times more than last year's plan. Unfair. Gmail and other free services have much better offerings, so I'm unsure why they're ripping off its users with this amount.

I have a paid account with inbox.com for email and data storage. For over TWO DAYS now (since 1/8/16) I have not been able to access my account. Instead, I get a message saying that it is undergoing maintenance and to check later. Many, many other inbox.com users are reporting (at another review site) that they have also been locked out. Inbox.com This company should be taken to court and blackmailed

Inbox.com takes over your website search engine, without permission, and even it you delete it from active programs, it still remains. One has to delete it from the startup box in the internet connections. This company should be taken to court and blackmailed!

Inbox.com is from CHINA! You people did not get the red flags and alert bels going off when you saw their inept English? "EXAMINATE"? HELLO! WT ...F is that?! And I quote, from their homepage, BEFORE you sign up: "we do not examinate your messages for advertising purposes". " Can't spell "examine"? Ok, put it in a search, cos the Brits talk weird, and that is NOT even a verb! They somehow have that listed as a noun. FAIL #1.

Scroll down and you get this little gem, end of page: " don’t waste energy jiggling multiple services". JIGGLING? Like jello? Surely, they should have typed JUGGLING! THOSE are your tell-tale signs of a China-based scam company! That is, if their photos of Chinese people didn't clue you in as seen at their homepage and at their contact page: https://www.inbox.com/contact.aspx

Who, since 2020, hasn't learned their lesson about how China businesses operate?! {PS: expect them to fix their errors as soon as they've snooped here!}

I have been a customer for around five years and I am disappointed that the email system is down for two days straight. If I am paying for the service then it should work. I am not sure what I am getting over the free Gmail or Hotmail accounts.

Customers are posting these reviews because the company you work for is a scam.

I used inbox.com for a decade, or nearly a decade, and the majority of that time it was a free service. It then switched a forced paid model, at $8.88 a year - which sucks, but was a reasonable price. The following year it then jumped to $39.99. From $8.88 a year to $39.99 is a massive jump. The customer support essentially does not exist, and does not respond to complaints. I highly suggest you find a new company to work for.

I used inbox and was surprised it jumped to near $40/yr.
I can get better service from Gmail.com
Plus it is free, Plus inbox requires you to write your own spam filters.

I have tried several time to cancel my account after the 2nd day of use
and get a refund.

They keep replying 'no refunds'

I am in favor of a collective law suit. Today, they blocked my access and requested unblocking fees on top of my subscription fees.

My wife and I are disabled senior citizens who have been using inbox e-mail since the time when it was free. Recently inbox decided to close their free service and began charging a modest yearly fee of $8.88. We found this to be acceptable and had no problem with it, however this year the renewal fee is a whopping $39.95! Since my wife and I both have accounts this will mean almost $80 just for e-mail! Being on a fixed income, this has become a hardship. Over the next two weeks we will either eat or have e-mail service. I honestly think that my wife and I should get some sort of a discount, as we have been customers for years. However customer loyalty doesn't seem to matter to these people.

I only use Inbox for e-mail, not for storage so I cannot relate to the problems others are having. My only complaint is that they are eliminating their free version of the e-mail and give you no payment option other than PayPal. Very disappointed that after 8 years of satisfaction with inbox that I am now forced to look for another e-mail account.
