I gotta say, my experience with INOVA Federal Credit Union was a real bummer
I gotta say, my experience with INOVA Federal Credit Union was a real bummer. Me and my partner wanted to get a pre-app for a truck we were gonna buy, so we called up and talked to some guy named ***. He told us we were approved for $44,125.11 at 5% interest, and even sent a letter to the dealership saying we were pre-app. We asked for a written breakdown of the loan, but he said he'd email it to us after we got off the phone. But then we didn't hear anything for 30 minutes, so we called him back. He said he was getting the approval sent shortly. Then he called back and left a voicemail saying the approval had changed and the loan wouldn't be approved at the rate we were originally quoted. We had to take the day off work, drive 200 miles round trip, wait 7 hours at the dealership, and not even have lunch. And then we were told the loan amount had been cut in half and the interest rate had doubled! We feel like we deserve an explanation for the whole mess and that they should honor the original loan agreement. They should really listen to the recorded conversations we had with their loan rep. Not a happy camper over here!

For well over a year, my husband has been making payments on the car loan that is in my name. They have always let him know what is due and he pays with no problem. All of the sudden, they wouldn't tell him how much was due. They are now stating that this has been the law for as long as we have had the loan. Apparently, every employee he talked to before today had no idea of this "law" and has been breaking the law. Imagine our surprise when we are told that he now can't be told the amount to pay and that he has to just throw out what ever amount he would like to pay. He knows all of my security information and has never had an issue. I called to speak with a manager and I got a so called manager that encouraged me to take my business elsewhere and stated that they wouldn't be losing out on any money and then hung up on me! I called back and got a different manager who told me that I needed to remain calm while talking with her. I let her know that I would be calm had I talked to a more professional manager. This manager said that she would listen to the calls and train the employees who had given out information incorrectly in the passed. That was my biggest complaint. It is irritating as a customer to have things change all the sudden after all this time. Even if it was supposed to be this way from the start, we didn't know that because we have never had this problem. Very unprofessional group of individuals to deal with. Also, if you miss a payment. Their employees will TEXT you. You read that right. They personally text you to let you know you need to make the payment. I asked how we could get it set up to where my husband could make payments with no issues and she said the only way was to reapply for the loan with his name on it. If we are going to go through the trouble of putting him on the loan, we will do it with a better ran company.

We are a car dealership trying to payoff a mutual customers loan. This company makes it very difficult to get loan payoffs when you are trying to trade in your vehicle. It has taken three days to get a payoff after leaving numerous messages. Terrible customer service.

Been a member since 2014 and have always had a great customer service.We moved from *** to *** a few years ago but was able to keep banking (checking and savings) with INOVA thanks to their mobile banking app (allows for easy check deposits) and home banking (manage accounts and *** pay from home computer).

Customer service is non existent
Customer service is non existent. Tried multiple times to call to pay off my truck loan and could not reach anyone who could help me. I would get a call back from them after hours so they could not help me because the office was closed. Also received conflicting info on wire transfers about how much i could send them via wire transfer.

They force you to transfer funds into their accounts to pay bills so it looks like they are getting deposits in. They aren't. Avoid them at all costs.

INOVA contacted me via mail and said I was pre-screened and qualified to apply for refinance my vehicle. Thinking this was a legit offer, and because of my good credit and perfect payment history, I applied and was willing to take a hard hit to my credit. Unfortunately, the underwriter / risk manager turned down my application due to some quantification criteria that found me as high risk? So why did you teach out to me to apply, take a hard hit to my credit, just to turn me down? Don't fall for it. False advertisement. Save yourself the trouble. Go with a local credit union.

INOVA Federal is everything a credit union should be
INOVA Federal is everything a credit union should be. They are professional, kind, and local. Everyone there is so welcoming and they really make you feel like an important member. I have done my banking with INOVA since 1992 - 30 years this year, I will continue to give them my service. They have given me personal loans, mortgage loans, HSA accounts, checking accounts and have exceeded my expectations with all of their services. You just dont get that kind of personal touch when banking with large banks. I appreciate all the staff and look forward to many years banking with INOVA Federal!

Local credit union that I have banked with for almost 17 years
Local credit union that I have banked with for almost 17 years. They have extended me multiple personal loans, including, home mortgage, home equity and auto loans. Service has always been top-notch for these loan applications and servicing of my loans. Rates have been competitive. I know INOVA's home mortgage rates have always been competitive in the market. Branches have taken care of my daily activity, great service. Mobile app is how I now deposit my checks, fast and convenient way to deposit from home. The mobile app is easy to use, gives me the information I need on my accounts. I do receive dividends on my checking with the Shield checking, paying dividends on balances up to $ 15K. Nice to have those dividends each month along with rewards earned on my debit card purchases. INOVA is part of the CO-OP shared branch network so I can do my banking with INOVA at many other credit unions nationwide.

I was emailed an offer to reduce my car payments by refinancing with Inova and chose to refinance my vehicle. I was inexperienced at all of this and did not actually understand what I was doing. In short, this loan extended my car payments from 5 to 7 years on a used vehicle. Within this process I was offered what was called a, "car warranty" because I mentioned that mine had already expired. This "warranty" added another $1400 to my financed amount. Some time later, I had a serious car repair and took this "warranty" with me to show the dealership who was completing the repair. The service agent read through the paperwork and laughed a little and said, "Ma'am, this is nothing but a glorified roadside assistance plan and has nothing to do with paying for car repairs." I called the bank to question the woman (whose name I cannot remember at the time) and was never able to contact her and other employees that I spoke to had no idea who this woman was. So I had no way to refute this "warranty" and have the $1400 removed from my loan amount!Do not pay for any type of "car warranty" through this bank! I personally do not recommend doing any kind of business with this bank at all! This bsuiness actually is worth NO STARS!

I tried to pay my rent online on 4/30/2022, but it didn't work. I tried three times, but it was declined every time. Then, I got a call from someone in fraud protection on the same day. They asked me if I authorized the payment, and I said yes. They said that at least one of my payments was verified. But then, on 5/4, I got an eviction notice from my apartment complex because I didn't pay my rent.

Inova is s'posed to credit 3% dividend to Shield Checking if I do 8 debit transactions per month. I didn't get the credit for April cuz the last transaction was done on the last day of the month. If they don't clear the same day and take time to post, it ain't my fault. I did the required number of transactions for the month, and I want my dividend.
