Invitae If I could give them a 0 stars, I would

If I could give them a 0 stars, I would. My OB recommended the genetic testing, so I obliged. If I had known the journey ahead dealing with them, I would have never done it. They billed me before the test was completed. Called customer service and was told I could see my results once I paid my ***. So I paid my *** and seen that they CHARGED ME TWICE. By the way, still no results.

Was told by my OB that the test would take 5-7 days to get results. I ONLY did the test because I wanted to know the gender early. I planned a gender reveal party for two weeks after I should have gotten the results. That party is this weekend and I still have not received the results. After paying 100$ for the test, I ended up having to pay another 150$ to sneak peak to get my results in 24 hours. This whole thing is a waste of money and time. Should be illegal to say 5-7 days if its not even close.

This company is horrible. They advertised 5-7 calendar days for my test results and they have all over their website that they have such a fast turn around time. They are absolute liars. I planned a gender reveal for eleven days after my test thinking that would be generous. Waste of time and money. I still don't have any results or updates or reasons for the delay. They should not be advertising 5-7 days if it's a lie and clearly isn't EVER true based on every review of them ever.

This is a horrible company. They advertise a 5-7 day turnover for results for genetic testing. I am currently on day 11 and they have no idea when the testing will be done. Its amazing how you can trick people into thinking they will get fast testing and they have to wait so long.

They don't answer ANY emails, ever. And when your test is taking longer than the site tells you you have to call to be told they are running behind. I get that places can get backed up but normal places will send out an email automatically to let you know. If you call in you'll probably be sitting on hold. And the only update you'll get is that it's taking longer than usual so don't waste your time with calling them. I have extreme anxiety and their lack of communication isn't helping that AT ALL. They shouldn't advertise 5-7 days for the *** It should be extended as this isn't true for me AND for many others. And why have an email for "contact" if NO ONE gets back to you? I've never had this issue with past NIPT tests.

Invitae DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE. Was told multiple times I would have results within 5-7 calendar days. I've still not received my results, I've had to ask multiple times for updates. We are going on day 14 of nothing! I am told over and over there is a delay with no reasoning. They have stopped giving me expected dates for the results, because clearly they have issues meeting them. Biggest waste of my money and time.

Adding to the slew of complaints -- I had a similar experience, where my medical provider told me that I met insurance criteria for testing and Invitae would *** my insurance, then give me the option of either paying the insurance price or $250. Now they tell me my *** is overdue and I owe $250 -- but I have not received a *** (when I called them, they told me it was in the mail). They claim they did not submit to insurance because they knew it would be rejected. Based on the below reviews, I'm not sure whether I should pressure them to submit because it may be covered, or just *** it up and pay the $250 so I can be done with them. Fortunately I'm in a position where I can pay the fee without financial hardship, but I wish there were something I could do to take them to task.

I had NIPT testing done Feb 2021, it was supposed to be the self pay route of $99. Somehow, they billed my insurance and charged me $498. When I tried to appeal this *** they said nothing could be done since it was sent to insurance and not self pay (their mistake, not mine) and refused to give refund. Fast forward to august 2022, another NIPT test done through invitae after my Dr. *** assured me itd only be $99, theyre trying to *** me $350 in claims that is the self pay rate. Refuse to pay that and had blood work cancelled. I would not recommend this company to anyone for genetic testing.

I had *** and SMN1 Gene *** Anyls testing done by my IVF doctor. My insurance was suppose to cover it all but $88. Since I had Aetna they charged them over $1010 for what is normally a $350 test. I get the *** (again it was projected to be $88 OOP) and it was $337.72. I just paid it and feel ripped off. The genetic testing is not even the best and I don't feel reassured at all. Just avoid this company if at all possible. They are not all there yet with technology and they rip off their patients for subpar information- literally 23&me genetic testing for $99 told me more than their tests.

My OBGYN and the Invitae website told me my insurance would cover the testing after looking it up. Even now when I log into invitae website, a screen pops up saying my estimated cost after billing insurance was $0. I am ok with a small fee, but getting a bill for $368.37 after being told $0 is ridiculous. They billed my insurance $1,665.00 for the testing. I can't get any info online except for the screen telling me that I would pay $0. I don't want a ding on my credit score over this. I'm really disappointed in this shady advertisement and hidden costs. I would NOT recommend this company. You really can't trust anyone these days and it's sad.

Invitae This is a scam company that needs to be shut down

This is a scam company that needs to be shut down. They texted me a blatant scam threatening to *** my insurance for $1000 out of pocket expense, for genetic testing they claimed was ordered by an unnamed physician. They were trying to scare me into paying $250 out of pocket instead. I contacted them because I thought surely this was some 3rd party scam posing as them. But when Invitae responded, they endorsed the text and then tried to get my full name and birth date!

Beware of Invitae! My OB said their test would be inexpensive and Invitae started sending us bills for thousands of dollars almost a YEAR after the test was done. Now, 7 months and 10 phone calls later, they're reprocessing the bills and every time I call I get a different answer. I got a *** for $2,000, with a small note added that said it had been adjusted down to $100. When I called, the billing office said the $2,000 was a "mistake" and he officially adjusted the *** down to $100. Then I called back a week later and the *** had been put BACK at $2,000 and sent to my insurance without my permission. I asked them what would happen if I don't pay the *** (since the amount changes every time I call) and they said they would "attempt to collect." But even when I asked repeatedly, they wouldn't say whether they use a collections agency that will hurt my credit score. This company is extremely sketchy with its billing practices. I wish they could come up with a reasonable figure that I could pay and be done with them forever. We'll never test with them again.

I applied on LinkedIn and I thought that was a reputable local to apply for jobs but after scam after scam Im done! Im a nurse/paralegal and wouldnt make that much money so I pretty much knew right off the bat it was a scam! Be *** if you apply for a job.

Now I get to call insurance since I have in writing it was covered and fight them. It appears that the lab charged twice for the testing so thats suspicious. Cant get anyone from invetai to respond to me. Dont understand how they can charge cash price 250 then *** insurance for over 3 grand and require you to pay 5oo of it. Everyone is out to make money off people that don't have it. So tired of getting screwed over. Might as well just die because this battle is killing me.

Needed a carrier test done for fertility related reasons so I ordered the kit, got it 5/10, shipped it back a few hours later and it got there 5/12. The FAQs state that results should be given in 10-21 calendar days. On 6/1 I messaged Invitae (this would be calendar day 20) making sure I would receive my results the next day. I was assured that I would and I have the chat transcript to prove it. 6/4 comes along and I still haven't received my test results. Chat again with Invitae and they said there was a delay with my specific test but no matter how much I asked they would not tell me the reason for this and gave me a 6/10 results date. This morning, 6/8, I got a call from Invitae saying they messed up running my sample so they had to run through it again. Now the results will be given 6/15 supposedly. I needed my results back a week ago for my procedure and so I'm screwed for what I needed it for. Do not recommend at all.

Invitae Took a single saliva genetic test

Took a single saliva genetic test. The results was released 2 months later. I have insurance and was told without it would cost estimated $1000 or I could pay $250 not to involve my insurance. But, if my insurance was accepted lowest payment could be $0. I took the option to use my insurance and already paid them $50 to reserve a counseling appointment. After the results came back which read uncertain (Not positive, nor negative). My insurance company was charged $3750 with a $2250 adjustment. Another charge for $169 office visit, $195 for consultation. I began receiving multiple bills, messages and calls demanding payment for $1500 and another for $119. Very upset and misleading information. If i was informed about how much they normally charged. I would of never proceeded with them. Definitely not ever recommend. I am single parent and this has caused a great deal of financial stress and completely appalled. Suggest others considering go to your primary physician and request blood testing or even 23andme both were inexpensive without the surprise billings and results.

Invitae SCAM ALERT

SCAM ALERT. ECHOING REVIEWS HERE!This company scams clients by telling them their out of pocket charge will be $100-$250. I gave them my insurance information under the pretense I would be told what my cost would be if it was accepted. They ran it through insurance without my permission. My insurance accepted it, and I received a *** for $2500 from Invitae. After countless fights over the phone and citing from their website that they MUST get permission via phone or email to process insurance, and that they did not, I was told not to worry about the $2500, but that I would still have to pay the $100, and that insurance would have to pay $3600. So a $100 quote became a $6000.00 ***!My husband accidentally deposited the cheque, or else my appeal with *** would have had some ground. In essence I had to pay them the $3600 even though I was told I HAD THE CHOICE TO USE INSURANCE OR PAY OUT OF POCKET. Because I didn't want to go to court and spend even more time and energy on this I paid it. Had my husband not deposited the cheque I would have ripped it up and not paid them anything but the $100 I was quoted (which they removed incidentally after all the hassle). I am going to the ComplaintsBoard.com, and the *** of *** Services in NY State to report them. STAY AWAY.

Invitae Have called company multiple times since testing on Sept 21, 2020 with no resolution

Have called company multiple times since testing on Sept 21, 2020 with no resolution. I have spoken to several associates in which one in particular (Chian 12/29) clearly stated that there are 2 accts under my name. One showing a balance with the exact same amount that the other acct is showing a credit. spoke to my insurance company and have proof of payment in which they billed my insurance twice for the same claim after being paid. I keep being told that someone will contact me and this is 4 months later with no resolution. Continue to get text messages, emails, and phone calls telling me that my *** is overdue.

Invitae Invitae seems to have deceived both my doctor and me regarding their services

Invitae seems to have deceived both my doctor and me. 1. My doctor was informed that Invitae charges around $99 if insurance doesn't cover it, and they would confirm charges before testing. I was wary of costs as it was an optional test, and I couldn't afford more than $99 since I'm unemployed. 2. Invitae never confirmed the actual charges with me or received my agreement to them. 3. I received two bills totaling $310 and $830.12. When I discussed this with the local sales rep provided by my doctor, she corrected the billing error to a $99 self-pay charge. Our conversations are documented in text messages. 4. I received a bill dated 3/12 for $99 (after insurance) and paid it. 5. Another bill dated 3/18 arrived with additional charges of $830.12 (after insurance). 6. When I mentioned this to Romy on 4/3, she reneged on the original agreement and proposed a new charge, though I was under the impression I was paying for one test batch, not two, and said they'd adjust it to a $250 cash price. 7. I insisted on the agreed $99 total test cost, feeling this was a bait and switch tactic. Invitae also accepted insurance reimbursements. At best, Invitae doesn't honor the billing process they promise to providers, and their rep doesn't uphold agreements. At worst, they're engaging in bait and switch and possibly double billing insurers and clients.
