coming to my door even w/no soliciting posted
On a REGULAR basis, here they come in their crappy trucks, hauling a deep freeze like the ones in our basement. There's a sign saying what co. they represent that anyone could get made at any Office Depot. They knock on our door even with a sign on our door clearly stated; "No solicitations". That is disrespectful and defiant, in my opinion. The men never have any company shirt, hat, nothing that shows who or what they represent. Why in the world would I buy meat to feed my family from a person or 'company' like this? Why in the world would I trust their word about this meat? When my husband & I have repeatedly told them no, they become rude & argumentative with us! Then the next month, here they come again canvassing the neighborhood like the KIRBY salesmen. WHY? Do NOT fall for their speil!

poor quality product, poor service
someone drove up to our ranch and offered us some supposed deals on meat. that said it was all guarenteed. he said how this neighbor and that neighbor bought from them and loved it. we were stupid and bought $329 of meat. it was awful. the ribeye tasted TAINTED. tons of chemical taste. the fillets were tough and tasteless. the loin strips had a very funny, bad after taste. i wrote them and they did not answer. i called them and got some response. he said he would bring me down more meat. i told him i did not want the same steaks as they were awful. he said they have fish and i said we like fish. i also told him we did like the kansas city strip steak. he said he would be coming down and would call. a few weeks later ( the weather was pretty bad for a while) he shows up in the afternoon when no adult was home. he said he had been calling all day. i said i was home till 8 am and then had to work. he said he does not get out of bed by 8. i said how was i to know he was coming. then he did not have any fish with him, and only 1 box of the kansas city steaks. so he wanted to give me some box of supposed fancy ribeye that was more expensive. my choice was to take those in replacement or get stuck with pork or chicken. as much chemicals as their beef had, i was not taking the chicken after i had spent all that money. i took the ribeye box and have not tried them yet. we are basically paying $10 a steak. this company has bad meat, and not great customer service. do not buy from them.

I bought the steak package from a salesman who told me these steaks would melt in my mouth and would have a freezer life of 1 year. I purchased these steaks 12/2010. These are the worst steaks I have ever tasted! They are tough as shoe leather! Within 1 month of purchase, I called their office in Akron because several (6) of the ribeye steaks were black. I ask them to replace them. They asked how I paid and that a salesman would be in touch with me to replace them. Famous last words! I have not heard from anyone and I have called them more than 3 times! Do not buy from these people as they are a rip off! Save your money and go to the meat market - at least there you know what your getting.

I recently purchased a case of a variety of products from this company via door to door truck salesman. I have eaten 2 steaks from what I purchased so far. They were fillets. I cooked them on the grill and they were wonderful very tender and tasty. I checked the products out very thoroughly and I did not see anything wrong with them. Most meat products do not last a year they do not have that type of shelf life unless they are pre-cooked. As of yet I have no complaints but when and if I do I won't wait to tell them about it.
Why did you wait so long to complain?
If I ate a steak and found it to be unsuitable, I would have complained THAT DAY.
File a BBB complaint and talk w/ the attorney general's office in teh state where the company is located.

This meat truck pulled up to me at a gas station saying they had great steak for really good prices. I told them I was not interested because I do not cook very often but then they said they had $3 fillet's. I took a look and he tried selling me a case of like 50 steaks. I declined and he asked if I'd buy 10 steaks for $30. I reluctantly agreed. He manually wrote down my credit card info and had me sign it. He didn't mention that afterwards he added on a 10% tip and didnt authorize that with me. He also did not give me a receipt. His name is Ryan and he wrote his number as [protected]. I don't appreciate being scammed, especially on purchases that I made just to be nice basically. I called the company and they are trying to be nice and help me out, but I'm not sure there is much I can do at this point. Don't buy from this scammer.

Wow, you really did let yourself be taken. Have you contacted your credit card company or bank so they can dispute the charges? I've done half thoughtless things before too and I hate when someone points out the obvious mistakes and blunders, but I'm gonna do it to you now :) First of all, it would have seemed very odd to me that a steak truck is selling steaks at a gas station. I don't care to be rude to people, but when I say no, I mean no. I would have walked away. Secondly, why would you ever give your credit card number and your signature to some dude who is selling steaks (who knows what he could have injected into those steaks) from outside of a gas station and get no receipt?
Seriously, if it's too good to be true, it usually is. I hope you get this issue resolved in a way that pleases you.
illegal charges
On Sept. 18, 2010 a rep. named nathan darby and his wife did an off line voucher{ food stamps} for 5 boxes of meats. They both told me since i did'nt have any stamps left that they would hold a check until Oct. 6, 2010 and take it off my food stamp card. They swore they would'nt cash the check which was for $120.00 since they had to hold it for 2 weeks. The meat was $106.00. Well they never took it off my stamps, and i found out that they ran the check through my bank, now i have an overdraft of $120.00 plus $25.00 bank fee. I plainly told then that my acc. was used for my housepayments, since i am on a fixed income, I could lose my house because there is not enough money in the bank to pay my payment. I trusted these people since Nathan is my grandson's father. Just goes to show you, you can't trust anyone.

Bought a case of meat from them.The salesman tried to get me to let him carry it in the house and put it away . I refused. After he left I went to put it away and it wasnt frozen on a 90 degree day. I called him the next morning .He said he would be out that evening to replace it with a new one.. Did not show Did not call.. Called him back the next day .He said he didnt have any meat that he was waiting on a delivery and would be at the house by 5pm .. Again did not show did not call .The phone number on the recipe is a non working number..I put a stop payment on the check .Tried to call and let them know and He is not answering his phone .These people need to be SHUT DOWN ..
You are sooo right! I could not contact them either. The notice says 3 day cancellation notice, which I mailed in the next day after purchase. I also put a stop pay on the check to them as well! THEY WON'T GET MY MONEY EITHER AND RIP ME OFF. CUDOS TO YOU! I TOTALLY AGREE!

Hi, i am a previous employee of Iowa Steak co.. I worked there for 3+ years and know the inside scoop on how the wheels turn at that place. First of all the MOST a salesperson EVER pays for a case of meat is $117.oo. So when you are told they sell them online for 389.00 all day long that is a lie. The owner pays less than half that amount of which the salespeople pay. If you are looking to buy meat in bulk you should contact Stampede meat and pay the lowest prices. there are several "cold storage" places near you regardless of where you live that will sell you bulk meat for a fraction of what these salespeople will sell it to you for. Furthermore, the meat is thawed and refrozen several times, so by the time you get it there is no telling how fresh it is, if at all. The sales reps are encouraged by the manager, VP and Owner to sell the "bad meat" before they will be allowed to receive fresh inventory. There is a 100% satisfaction guarantee but there are so many loop holes to that its unreal and the funniest part is that when a customer service is made and a rep comes to pick up your bad meat to replace it with good meat, they turn around and resell the bad meat to yet another unsuspecting family. I have no idea how this company has been in business for so long. They view customers as stupid, slow people that they can get over on.. heres a couple "hooks" you might recognize.. " hey im the warehouse manager for IA steak we are so overstocked on inventory i am basically giving this stuff away" or " hey i was makin a delivery to your neighbor but they arent home my boss will kill me if i come back with this order on my truck, if i give it to you for half price would you guys eat it?" Let me break it down for everybody, there are no deliveries at iowa steak, its all cold call, there are no discounts for overstock, only poor meat that has been sittin in the freezer for so long that they cant get rid of it any other way. this company operates off scams and doesnt care who they scam.. i wont even start on how they treat their employees. they dont hire black people and that is an order which is given from the owner himself, they tell their current employees to file police reports and goto court against former employees and say they stole meat so that inventory which is lost due to going bad and etc can be recovered through the court systems. They use their money to throw their weight around and the only reason they can do this is because people buy the product. as long as people continue to buy their product this company will continue to treat customers, employess and anybody who crosses its path like second class citizens. The owner is a very abbrasive pompous ### who has sexually harassed female employees and doesnt care one bit about anybody but himself. He encourages his sales reps to tell whatever lie necessary to put $ in his pocket. Knowing what i know about the sanitary procedures (they throw meat on the floor, smoke cigs in the walk in freezer, thaw meat and refreeze it, etc). of this company i can honestly say i wouldnt advise ANYBODY to eat that product. I had a price of 99.00 per case thats 64 cuts of meat for 99.00 which breaks down to $1.54 PER cut of meat and i STILL shopped at my local grocery store after 6 mos of working there, once i really figured out how they handled the product. DISGUSTING ! Take it from somebody who worked in and outside of the office in one of the 9 locations they have, the meat is no good and the customer service or compassion is even worse. They have an F- on the BBB, what does that tell you ?

poor food
I really should have known better, but we were trying to get ready for the 4th of JULY. I thought I'd help out my neighbor and paid $625.00 for the worst meat we had ever tasted. It tasted OLD. I feel like such a fool. I guess I needed to lose that money, 'cause I'll sure know better if they have the nerve to come back here again. This is not ending here...I'm disabled and I could really use that money.
The first salesman was pretty nice, but when I called them to pick it up the second salesman locked him self in his truck.

I recently bought one of the steak packages from Iowa Steak Company and found out about their 3-day cancellation policy. So, within 24 hours, I told them that I had been running the numbers and didn't think that I was getting as good of a deal as they were trying to say that I was, so I asked them to come back and get it. Well, they said that the money had already been withdrawn from my account, but it would be refunded within a few days. Well, it's been over a week and no activity... I called customer service and they said that nothing had ever been recorded about me cancelling the order and wanting a refund. THIS IS NOT A GOOD COMPANY TO BE TRUSTING WITH YOUR MONEY!

My wife was home doing yard work when this pick up truck with a freezer in the back pulled in to our drive way. Two men where in the truck, one guy got out of the truck and asked my wife if she liked steak? She answerd yes I do and the guy said let me show you what I have. After 20 mins of telling her that it was all usda prime steak and was all range free and no additives, my said she would need to call me and see if I wanted it. The man said that he really had to sell it fast that they where giving all profit to help childrens hospital burn ward and only had 15mins to trun in. So she went into the house and got our check book and wrote a check for $349.00 the man I think he told her his name was Mike asked if she could give him the cash because time was running out to turn in the money and the person that turned in the most cash was getting a big bonus from the company. So she did just to help out the kids and Mike. When I got home she told me what she has done and asked if i would like to have steak for dinner. as she was starting to cook it it smelled bad. I looked at the box to see if the steak was any good and found that it was full of additives and that my wife paid over $26.00 a pound for this meat and none of it was prime meat like she was told. So the day I called the store and talked to this nice lady and told her everything and she told me that Mike would be out to pick up the meat and give me a refund. Well a week went by so I called again and the same lady told me she gave it to Mike to get it takin care of, I asked to speak to some one in charge and was put on hold, a man by the name of Steve answerd the phone and I told him the story from the start and right off the rip he told me that none of his guys would ever say what Mike said to my wife, so I asked to talk to his boss and he told me he was the director of operations and there was no one above him and hung up on me. So then I did some reserch on Iowa steak and Steve, I found their web site and called their corp. office and they told me they had no director of opperations that Steve Evans was the manager of that store. So again I told them the story and they said they would call me back. Still not hearing from them I did some more checking up on them and found out that Childrens hospital never heard of or have never gotten any money from an Iowa Steak co. Wow who would stoop so low to sell meat? I also took some of the meat to a friend of mine who is a butcher and he said it was clear the the meat was thawed and refrozen. After everyone I have talked to and after all the phone calls I still havent got my money back and I'm still investigating this company. I found out the most of their employees including the manager is felons and they have no permit to go door to door selling anything. People beware do not buy from fly by night meat companies that drive in trucks to your house...
Thankfully I didn't buy and I flat out didn't like the door to door tactic at all. I was in my rural property in the middle of a field essentially last night when the guy approached me and continued - I counted literally 8 times after my "no" trying to reduce the price and appeal to me. Thankfully he finally went away but it took a LOT of pursuing and he ignored so blatantly all my declines that it irritated me. And I'm busy and in my own home and don't want to be bothered. Now I worry about the felons and no permit to sell door-to-door part. Thanks for the heads-up.
we bought some meat from the same company. I called them the next day and stopped payment on my check. The meat was so tuff you coudn`t even chew it, the hamburgers looked like soy burgers, But low and behold in 2 weeks they came and got the remaining meat and gave me back my check with no problems< I hope they never stop again

I bought assorted steaks from Iowa Steak Co and would never again! The rib-eyes were not only tough, but tasted like a weird bologna. The strips were tough as nails--hardly, if at all edible. I called and left a message and did not get a returned phone call. I called days later and left another message--still no one called back. I called today and was passed on to a man (boss or manager?) who said he had no record of my calling before and that I should have called sooner. Keep in mind, I am well within my year of purchase. Supposedly, someone--whose only job is to exchange steaks, is going to call and set up an appointment to exchange. I have never worked for the company. I am simply a person who was accosted while driving, and decided to try the Iowa Steak Co's steaks.

I purchased soe meat from one of there salesman that drives around selling meat. I've purchased meat similar before this way but different company. they lay it all out for you and tell you they are almost giving this meat deal away it's so cheap. they start with and out ragious price and by the time there done with there speal they tell you well I'll tell you what . I'm not making anything off you if I sell it that low but I'll tell you what if you buy this along with this I'll tell you what I'll give you the whole thing for ? well you get the picture. there first line is when they walk up is ( hey my boss sent me out with just a few boxes left that they can sell me at a 75% savings if we sell it today) . I thought after first time well let me try another different cut. well forth time I tried that I said there's something wrong with this meat. it just doesen't taste right. your suppossed to be getting your tenderlions with bacon wraps and your new yorks and your premium burger patties and a few other top named steaksI can't remember at the moment. will bottom line is they are selling you something that is either old or some other cut or whatever. it's just not right.

This is in regards to the Iowa Steak Company located at 221 170th ST S, Ste A, in Spanaway, Washington 98387. When the door to door salesmen (Pat) showed up at our garage door on 8/11/16 he was a smooth talker. My husband and I fell for his sales pitch. I told him we were in between paydays and that we just didn't have the money right now to buy any. He kept talking and talking. He brought out all the product he had to sell. He said that he could take a post dated check for the 19th. We ended up purchasing a seafood box for $100 and was told that it was worth $399 and if we were not completely satisfied then we would get our money back. That the product would last 1 year in the freezer. We ate the product the next weekend and they were terrible products. Coming from Maine I do know how to cook seafood. The lobster tails were strange tasting and shrank a lot when cooked (almost 1/2 their size), the scallops shrank to less then 1/2 their size and was mushy with lots of water in the pan, then the shrimp was dirty and I had to devein over 1/2 of them when they were supposed to be fully deveined and ready to eat. I called on the 8/22/16 and spoke with the secretary and told her what had happened. I asked her if there was a money back guarantee and she said yes. She said hang on and let me talk to the boss. I could hear her talking to someone and she came back and asked if we still had any of the product and how I would like to resolve the problem. I told her that I did not have any product left because I was never told that I needed to hang on to any of it in order to get a refund and I would like them not to cash the check or I will put a stop pay on it. She spoke with someone in the background and came back and "you don't have to put a stop pay on the check. Sorry this happened and I will send the check back to you as a full refund. It has not come across my desk yet but when it does I will send it back." She then proceeded to tell me that someone would call me during the week to speak to me about the problem. I didn't trust them and put a stop pay on the check anyways which cost me $31. I received a call on 8/30/16 at 9:16am from a Larry wanting to speak with me and asked that I call the [protected]. I did not have a chance to call him back. On 9/2/16 at 9:16am again he called and left a message and said that the check had been stop paid and there would be legal action if this did not get resolved. I called him back and he was very rude to me stating "if you would have had some of the product we would have exchanged it for you. You can't just eat the product or thow it away and then want your money back." I told him the same thing I told the secretary. Larry said that we should have put the product in a baggie and saved it for them. He said that I still needed to pay for the product and I told him the salesman (Pat) said we had to be completely satisfied or we got our money back. Larry said only if we still had the product. The salesman never specified that when speaking with him on 8/11/16. Now Larry is threatening me with legal action for a check that was stop paid when he already approved of his secretary sending the check back so it was like a full refund because we were not happy with what we received. Larry said "so you are saying go ahead with sending the check in to get collected" I proceeded to say "do what you need to do and I will be contacting the BBB" He said "go ahead".
We should not pay for substandard food.
Update: 09/07/16 received a letter in the mail threatening to turn me into the prosecuting attorney for putting the stop pay on the check. Stating that I did not have the money in the bank and I did it fraudulently. I have proof that I had money in the bank for the check and the letter I sent to the Better Business Bureau regarding this situation.
Definitely the worst meat we have ever purchased. The "steaks" we're fatty, tough and cut wrong. We had two "fillets" tonight that were cut wrong and so tough we ended up feeding to our dogs. Their "New York Strips" appeared to be cut from round steak meat. One can only hope the meat was really beef. Excuse me but I need to head to McDonalds for some real beef for our supper.

Purchased Iowa Steak from traveling salesman. They really put their product as outstanding, telling you that it originally cost $498.00, but today you can get it for $180.00. No sales tax either, salesman asked how we felt about the government, so no sales tax! I got suspicious, only cooked 1 ribeye, looked huge, so much water in the meat, had to keep draining it. After cooking, it was thin as round steak, or thinner, and tasted terrible. I got sick after eating it, throwing up and no other details, but called my bank, the check had not cleared, put a stop pay on it. Finally got hold of the company, told them I was sending in the cancellation notice, as I had 3 days to do so, it was purchased on 10/22/2012, and today is 10/24/2012. DO NOT FALL FOR SCAMS THAT SOUND TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER, WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN EVER!
wow you people are nuts if you cant appreciate a good deal and great flavor of nice variety of steaks. my family and i have been eating ia steaks for years now and not only does there steak taste great but we also love there chicken and pork. cant comment on the seafood because we don't eat seafood. there is one more thing i would like to say about ia steak and that is in all the years i and my friends and neighbor's have been dealing with that company i have never had a bad or anything less than kind and courteous service. you people that are complaining about good companies like this company are probably the same people that beat there dogs and children or half of your diet consists of alcohol or worse! get a grip ! thanks for the time from the Romaneski family

You are so right. They can sell it cheap, the company pays $50.00 a case. The sales rep pays $99.00 to $108.00 per case. The meat is very poor in taste.
If you want to buy real Steak you need to go out to your local butcher shop for the best deals on real U.S. Steak.
Iowa steak company buys their meat from Stampede farms, Stampede is only a packaging plant in Ill. if you go to their web site they dont even say where they get their meat.
Buy your meats local not buy some fly by night company that needs to push it door to door and they dont even know where it come from.

I was writing the check for $30 and as i was writing he told me that i could just move that decimal over (Make it 300) and he would give me a deal! I should have known right there something was up...

I am a new customer who was talked into purchasing meat from Iowa Steak Company. You couldn't tell when it was frozen, but when the ribeye was defrosted, it had been ran through a meat tenderizer. My family has done nothing but complain when I asked them their opinion. I paid cash when I bought the meat as I was uncomfortable giving them a check or credit card number. I really wish I would have sent them on their way when they stopped at my house. I looked at the flyer that was given to me by the driver. It stated they would exchange any product I am dissatisfied with. I am dissatisfied with all of it! I will never buy meat like this again!
Wow you guys sound like a bunch of haters. My first question is why does everyone try to guess what the owners of these companys pay and the contractors. when you go to Walmart do you stand there with the cashier and argue your price or try to figure out what the owners are paying .Look these guys order alot of meat so of course they are getting it at a cheaper price they spend thousands not bc it is low grade meat.And to all the people who get on hear and brag about what they did or said to the meat man ((GROW UP)))) what are you eight years old, lets pick on the guy who is working out in the hot sun or the winter wind.I wish I would knock on your door bc I would have no problems with making you feal about a inch big just as your trying to do to us .You little bully.Only unhappy people act this way I am sorry your life sucks so bad you must act as a child.
I have purchased from these 'drive by' meat salesmen twice in my life. Once about four years ago, and again about two months ago. I honestly dont remember the name of the companies, but they were not the same each time. THAT BEING SAID, I will say that the quality of the meat and seafood we got both times was very decent, almost excellent in my opinion... almost. I didnt have a problem with the prices we paid either, because when you worked out the numbers, they sold a good steak for a fair price, and drove it our house. sorry to hear someone else did not have a good experience. Again, I dont remember if I dealt with this particular company you guys are talking about...
if you know so much--you would know that its per serving love.. not by pound. there are felons working everywhere btw.. ;) the valets, gorcery store workers, most construction and maintenance men, I could go on forever ;) thats how it is with every sales job- they have to make money somewhere too.. ur ###ing rediculous learn how to spell

A salesman came to my door, and was bragging about selling me premium rib-eyes for 3 bucks a steak. I called him out on it and stopped his sales pitch and said for him to give me 5 Rib-eyes at that price. I told him I had 20 bucks cash on me right now. He then told me he couldn't do that... ok? You just told me you could sell me rib-eyes for 3 bucks a pop so why not? He said he just couldn't do it like that, and that I would have to buy a case, I said but I just only want 5 rib-eyes and I didn't have more cash on me, then he proceeded to ask for my credit card number, I told him to get lost.
I agree Iowa steak is the worst so called meat company out there.
To see there employees commiting on here saying how good they are. LOL. for those of you that do not know much about the Iowa steak company, well let me tell you.
The owner buys his meat from Stampede, Stampede sells to just about every so called meat company that sells meat out of the back of a truck. Not to bad mouth Stampede they are a very good company and they do sell very good meat to their high end customers.
Back to Iowa steak, the owner pays $50.00 a case from Stampede he than hires sub-contractors to not oonly sell but to run his so called stores. Why would a company hire nothing but sub-contractors? So nothing can come back to you. "FLY BY NIGHT". The owner than has these sub-contractors (most are felons) paying $99.00 to $108.00 a case and anything they sell it for over that is how they get paid.
Now lets do the math.
A case of their meat has 56 cuts of poor tasting meat, about 30lbs of bad meat.
Owner pays $50.00 for the case, thats .89 cents a cut and $1.66 a pound. Not bad
The driver pays $100.00 for the case, thats $1.78 a cut and $3.33 a pound. thats about as high as I would pay for this meat.
Now the driver sells it to the public for $300.00 saying that its top of the line steak and usda prime/chouice. No additives (thats a lie over 3% additives) no colors no dies and on and on. LIES
At $300.00 for a case, thats $5.35 a cut and dont forget that 18 of them 56 cuts are hambuger so your paying $5.35 for a 1/3lbs hamburger.
Thats over $10.00 a pound wow and thats if you get the beef.
the chicken is only 18lbs and the try to sell it for $169.00 OMG thats $9.39 a pound for chicken.
PEOPLE WAKE UP.

Iowa Steak company claimed to have sold my late brother a steak package. All I found was an empty third-rate chest freezer when I looked for the steaks in the chest freezer in the garage . When I requested a copy of the retail contract as executor for my brother's estate, the company keeps stonewalling me and has set a collection agency on me. Do not do business with the Illinois branch of this company and avoid their local rep, Joe Lefler like the plague; unless you like getting scammed.

Over the memorial weekend, this guy came up in truck on our street, claiming that he could give a good deal on the meat and seafood.
He pull out a chart with prices and he proceed to ofter the deal which consist of two types of steak, ribeye (8) and t-bone (4) and the t-bones were missing the small side. He said the he would throw in some sea food as a bonus...all for $130. During the exchange which should have been 3paks of snow crab-legs, and cooked shrimp. He pull a bait and switch on us. This so-called deal was missing the shrimp. We caught up to him and the next street. Of course he denied that the shrimp was part of the deal.. I looked at him and thought to myself, I hope that this meat I just brought be all that this liar said it was...I regret this sale so far...haven't eaten the meat yet. all I can think about is how I was not paying attention to this hustle. Is there honesty in the people who represent this product/bussiness. I will see. This occurred in Columbus Ohio.
The Iowa steak company will scam you any way they can. People need to wake up and see that they are not getting a deal from them you are getting ripped off if you buy. Just about anyone can buy it direct from stampede for about $60.00 a case so why spend over $200.00 from some fly by night meat company.

I bought 170.00 in meat from Iowa Steak last summer, guaranteed my satisfaction. I entertained a bbq cooking almost all of it, the steak fell apart and everyone had complaints. I decided to cancel my check, first check I've ever cancelled. Iowa Steak sent me to collections. I cooperated with collections and wrote a reason for my cancelled check as requested. Iowa Steak did not except my reason (big suprise). Now 7 months later they want to charge me over 500.00 in penalties, collections is calling me all of the time and my mail box is flooded. I'm sorry I ever trusted their guarantee. They have really stuck it to me. Don't buy their meat, it's bad product, they won't except thats it's bad prduct, and when you don't pay they will send collections after you like rabid dogs. -Lorelei IA

It really is mystery meat, with a texture one would not recognize as beef, regardless of freezing method. Strange taste. Road-kill mule, maybe?
This company sells flash frozen no-roll beef from the back of pickup trucks. For not much more you can get grain fed premium beef from Omaha Steaks-a real company with a real brick and mortar office. Iowa Steaks meat guarantee is simply this-Return any meat they can resale and they will refund a portion of your purchase price. Stay away from Iowa Steaks, the meat is dripping in dangerous chemicals to tenderize, flavor and preserve this mystery meat.

Iowa Steaks is the single worst business I have ever encountered. I have never written an online review but felt compelled to do this one.
The meat is generally disgusting. I ended up tossing out much of it because I could not bear to take another bite.
The steaks are the worst meat I have ever purchased. I could not find any meat in any market that sinks to the level of this garbage. No reputable market could stay in business selling this trash. I couldn’t even use it in stews or casserole
Many of the packages leak when thawed. (Which is why they suggest you thaw them on the grill and not in the fridge) .
The chicken is somewhat edible but has a strange texture and strange seasonings/flavors, dry . Many of the packages leak when thawed.
Filet Mignon is edible but not good. (These didn’t leak)
The worst part is the sales technique. I was shown many packages of meat and when I agreed to purchase, the sleazy low-life rip-off ### meth-head that was selling this crap insisted on stocking my freezer over and over and over and over again which I thought was odd, When I refused he insisted that he needed the individual cartons back for some “sales incentive” and quickly dumped all the individual pieces of meat into large cartons and virtually ran away.
The reason is that what is on top of the individual steak boxes is not what is on the bottom. You will end up with a lot more chicken than what you bargained for!
I should have known better when they were willing to come down by almost half the original asking price---shame on me—I know better but I never imagined they could be as bad as they are. Why are they still in business?
These people are lower than drug dealers, pimps, lawyers or even bankers.
The only good news is that I haven’t gotten sick from this crap.

I think that it is fantastic that there is a website designed only for people with some grudge to ### about something, all the while selling ad space to some competition (coincidence that meat is advertised for sale next to complaints against a meat company, cell phones next to a cell company complaint, no space for props or happy customers I am at least glad that all the malcontents have a place to comiserate together. OMG! I am from SE Iowa and am having the same troubles with them! the meat was disgusting. We never even got to the shoe leather part that everyone is talking about - we had to throw out our ribeyes - they smelled rotten after they were cooked. I have been trying for months to get a return of my money but of course, after 3 days, I can only get an exchange. If the first meat was bad, why wouldn't the next batch be? I don't know what to do..I have spoken with corporate and everything and although they are very nice at the upper level, I am still not getting a monetary refund. This was like shoe leather. I want my money back. They took advantage of a senior citizen. We have not tried the other products. $449.00 is the amount we paid. I will try calling Monday if anyone will answer. Called and was told no money back, just a replacement. I don't know what you want from me? I have given you all the information that I know.
I have purchased a lot of steak cases from the Iowa Steak Co. I am very unhappy with the product. It is tough and very fat/grizzle in it. It is not worth the money paid and would be very happy to return to for my balance of the money. I thought it was a good product but was very wrong.
Larry shows up at my home today to sell steaks. after giving the well rehearsed speech and being completely pushy and not taking no for an answer. Larry preceded to walk away cussing my husband after we chose not to buy. His exact words were f these f-ing dirtball people. I Will never consider buying from a company that cusses potential customers.

My wife has called Mr. Jeff K. a number of times about this matter and never heard back from him, I call there so called Corp. office and still nothing. So I did some more research on the Iowa Steak Co. People did you know that everyone that works for them are sub-contractors including their V.P., G.Ms., Store managers and sells reps. Why would a company have all sub-contractors working for them? well from what my research has found me, is that way the owner is not responceible for any thing they say or do to you the customer. I have to agree with their 100% satisfaction but, have to disagree with their value. $330 for 23 lbs of generic named steak and hamburger steaks and patties? I further more disagree completely with their decision to target the wives and stay at home moms with sob stories of trying to support their 2 year old daughters. I have heard the same ### story from 3 drivers. All claiming to never get to see their daughters and make little to no money from the company. I personally have contacted IA Steak and have asked to not have their drivers stop. Yet, on 2 occasions, have had to call their drivers back to my house and have them pick up their product. If I want steak, the local butcher will gladly rape me for $330 and even give me a reach around too.
