Slum lords
Slum lords. They got a bunch of units right now that ain't got no AC (it's been hittin' the 100s all the time) but they ain't fixin' none of 'em. We've been sufferin' in this heat for 2 months without no AC and they say they don't gotta fix it 'cause of some legal mumbo jumbo. There's old folks, sick folks, and even babies sweatin' it out while the big boss of JD Home Rentals is livin' it up. Rent keeps goin' up EVERY YEAR but they never fix nothin'. I don't get how this is even allowed? We just lettin' people drop dead from heatstroke? JD Home Rentals ain't takin' no responsibility for that?

I would give this company zero stars if it was an option. JD Home rentals is a horrible place to try and rent from. First of all, it took Lucy almost 2 hours to figure out how to print out our application. Secondly, we paid an application fee of $50. The rental company did NOT let us know that the place we were applying for is not even move-in ready and won’t be ready for up to one whole YEAR! What kind of rental company does that? Then they say your application fee only lasts for 60 days. They take your money and don’t let you know that any of their rentals are NOT move-in ready! Literally the worst experience with the company ever! BEWARE!

My experience with JD in my neighborhood is terrible. They make our community unsafe, from fire hazards to severe injuries caused by their neglect of trees. We've complained to the company multiple times about branches falling onto our property and damaging electric cables, internet, trees, and fencing. They refuse to send someone to fix things, and when we take matters into our own hands, they refuse to reimburse us for the expenses or the damage caused. It seems like they're just waiting for major damages to occur on their properties so they can make insurance claims and line their pockets with money. It's a terrifying experience, constantly living in fear of accidents that could damage our property or harm our family members.

JD should stay away from our neighborhoods! For the last 3 years, I have been making so many complaints to this company and their management in order to trim their trees or provide regular service. One of their trees keeps dropping big branches into my backyard, hanging from my power lines, bending the fence that divides our properties, and breaking whatever is in my property. At this point, it isn't safe for me to be in the specific area of my own property, and the poor tenants are even tired of making complaints about the same issue. The ladies in the office even laugh when we call to get updates on their work orders, hang up the phone, and they never allow you to talk to the manager (multiple times over 3 years, they denied having a manager). I am tired of making code enforcement reports, calling electricity services, and having to pay for extra services for my gardener to pick up all the big branches that fall from their tree. If the owner or supervisor wants to contact me in order to review the damage made to my property over the years, I'll be happy to sit down and talk. All we want is to have a safe property to live in. Hopefully, this nightmare comes to an end after these 3 long years.

harrassment and descrimination
from may 2023 to the end of july i was served by jd rentals multiple 3 days notices to quit ( 12) which were lies against me and friviolous just to evict me and i fixed every issue they stated i violated and at the end of that i seved another paper of 60 day notice for eviction due to the claim of upgrades to the unit and when they finish the upgrades i would not be able to continue renting from them because they dicided to terminate my lease without cause. i recieved another notice saying they are raising my rent from 650 to 765 this month for the remainder of my stay at the unit. then i recieved a final eviction by the courts notifying me they are taking me to court for missed payment but does not state what month.

I have received several notices that I need to clean my rental property, we have complied with all notices but still received another notice.
We have cleaned beyond the necessity and continue to do upkeep. It was stated we have cardboard on our windows and that is totally false, there have never been any cardboard on the windows at any time since we moved in. A gentleman that works for JD Rental that has been here to our home on several occasions to photograph inside and out of the property, ( stated that he doesn’t know why or what they are talking about because he sees absolutely nothing wrong with the property and that this in harassment)
The property is well above clean and maintained, I went into the management office to speak to a manager as their employee had suggested, when there on Tuesday November 7, 2023 at approximately 9:30-9:45am I was told there was no manager in that I could speak to and when I asked for the Ombudsman phone number they said they didn’t have it! I want to pay my rent as I have promptly every month and enjoy my life in my rental property.

My AC went out on 7/23/22 when my husband was away. He returned, checked the app we have that controls the unit (only he has it), and we saw that our AC unit said, "System repair needed". I called JD on 7/27 to file a work order. It's now 8/20/22 and our AC still ain't fixed. The story changes every time my husband or I call. First, they said it would take 3-5 days, then 3-5 business days, then 2-3 weeks, and now they don't even have an estimate. Most of the time, it's the same secretary answering the phone, and let me tell you, she's got quite an attitude. Despite the heat advisories and being stuck in 100+ degrees every day, they don't seem to give a damn about fixing this. I asked the secretary to pass on my info for a manager to call me two weeks ago, and I've answered every single call on my phone. But guess what? NO ONE has called me back. I'm physically sick from being exposed to this heat, and I can't hire an outside company to fix it because we don't own the property. When I call JD, they say they ain't short-staffed, but there are "a lot of orders for AC with people calling in" and yet people are still waiting this long? How the hell do they expect us to live like this? Why haven't they hired more people to fix this? They know damn well how hot it gets in the central valley. And on top of all that, there's no empathy or manners when you call in. The staff I've spoken to make us feel like we're bothering them when we ask for an update, but the truth is, we've been suffering for almost a month now with no resolution and no call from a manager (and I've been real nice on the phone, just so you know). I paid rent for July and August, and now I gotta pay for September while living in this unlivable situation? It just ain't right, and I'm also worried that the secretary has it out for us and put our name at the bottom of the list. I'm begging for a solution before my husband (or me) ends up in the hospital from heat sickness, or worse, I have to take my puppy to the vet :(

JD Home Rentals verbally said and in written form, advertised that the house at *** E. *** Avenue had a dryer hookup. A month after moving in, we realized there is no carbon monoxide ventilation set up for the dryer. We submitted a dryer ventilation maintenance request on 06/15. As of today, 08/22, the house still does not have the proper hookup for the gas dryer that was promised. My husband and I have been waiting two months for the maintenance work order to be completed.

Plumbing is bad
Plumbing is bad. Sewage backs up about every 3 months, they’ll come out and unclog it, but will still have sewage all over yard leaving my area smelling of sewage. Have mice issues. Mice droppings and urine in my stove. Would have to take stove apart to clean out the urine since it’s inside where the linings are, was told I have to do it myself but I don’t own the stove, so I don’t want to take apart their property. I can’t use my oven, there’s an overwhelming urine odor when in use and my food comes out smelling and tasting of ammonia. The lady in the office was very rude and not at all understanding to my situation and insinuated that that was my fault and responsibility.

I have homeless people right behind my kitchen window. I told "JD Rentals" several Times in handling This problem. They tell me They will come but never show up to solve this problem. It's "An Issue" where they are now using my electricity to watch TV & run A radio. You know, As A manager, they are far from managing "Their Properties". I would like at least $2000 compensation for putting up with all this crap (starting the last few month at "This Complex-Apartment" even though I've been paying rent here for exactly five years now). Just recently they've seen to be taking over this area with no management in sight. While They/JD Rentals want my rent money every month. Please do something about This. I got approved for my move-in day of September 1st back on July 6th of 2020 one week before my move in date at 4:30 p.m. I get a phone call informing me that we have to reschedule my move in date for a gas meter but I have pictures of the property not being completed at all no walls no wiring human feces all over the floor so I regretfully went ahead and signed the new move-in date which is supposed to be in 8 days on October 1st as of today I've went to the property they trim the trees outside but anything to actually do with the house is still untouched I gave them $1,800 to move in September 1st 4 months later we are still waiting for them to get our property up to par. And because of all this I have been homeless for the month of September and the property still is nowhere near complete.

I am a current tenant at the address listed in the complaint (Willow lakes apartments, *** W *** ana apt ***). For the last month I have had an internet connection that is completely unusable. I have contacted comcast (my ISP) and have had 20+ tech visits to try and find the issue. Ultimately, they believe it is the internal wiring of the building that is the issue and they want to install a new wire. I have contacted JD home rentals to get this done and they have refused to allow them to do so and also refused to fix the line themselves. I rely on high speed internet as a source of income and internet is a necessity in 2021 especially during COVID times. Multiple previous tenants have used comcast at this address, there is no reason that a new line should not be provided. This issue was never resolved and still persists.

7/13 I called and reported that the Air Conditioning Unit was not working. I was advised to replace thermostat batteries and air filter. I did so on 7/14. 7/14 I called to inform them that I had replaced the necessary items and that the unit still was not working. I was told to wait. I asked if they can provide any temporary resolutions such as a loaner portable AC and was told "We don't do that". On top of the AC unit not working, the pools in our complex are chain locked and the residents do not have access to that amenity. I called a week after to check the status of my work order and was told to keep waiting. I also have been calling frequently since 7/13, my most recent call being 8/9 and was told again to wait. I had a very rude conversation with the rep I spoke to and I am now reporting to Clovis Code Enforcement. I have four small children in the home with temps of 94-98 degrees everyday.

Started renting from JD last year in may and we’ve had nothing but problems since first was a gas leak and had to wait a few days for them to fix that then I noticed they didn’t install a carbon monoxide detector and not to mention they hire cheap labor that doesn’t do the job right I have things they did around the house that are not up to code and now I’m dealing with a recurring black mold in my shower window that is not openable and they refuse to fix the problem. They have someone just come over and paint over it and boom a week or so later I can see the mold growing threw the paint. And I’ve been calling and requesting to speak To someone that will help fix the situation instead of sending someone to just paint over it. And the lady that always answers the calls has been giving me attitude because I keep calling but isn’t It my job to help them keep the structure up to good quality and them not wanting to fix the problem is just going to get worse.

J.d home rental does not care about their tenant. I’ve called to report a maintenance for the AC and the employee tells me that due to COVID they are short staff. But that’s no excuse to used on any tenants. Even without the COVID crisis, Jd home rental employee still finds an excuse to tell their tenants. Fresno is super hot and especially living second floor it’s even hotter. My ac isn’t working and it’s been going for a week and they still hasn’t sent a worker to fix the AC. I’m working hard to pay my rent but they can’t even fix my AC. Even when they have their employee fixing the front yard but they never pick up their mess we tenant are being billed for their trash. It’s unfair, rude and disrespectful. JD home rental need to do better than this especially they are a big chain of renters to all Central Valley families. I’m writing this complaint because I feel that a lot of the tenants are waiting for their ac to be fix like mine during this heat wave. Please be our voice.

The agency had me move out of my previous address from them so i may move into a new house
The agency had me move out of my previous address from them so i may move into a new house .My original move in date was September 21 however they called me the day before move in and said it would not be ready until October 21st . No re work on our contract , just a simple phone call. Then on the day on my move in date of October 21st they called again and said they do not know when the house will be ready. I asked for a approximation and they could not provide one and suggested to pick up my deposit when im ready. Today 11/24 I walked in to pick up my deposit and the whole staff including the manger said they didn’t know me and that they didn’t owe me a deposit. I showed them my paperwork and contract and they suddenly remember who I was. The manger told me she will call me once she has my money. They then proceeded to tell me that I was making them scared and had to leave . I once again asked for my deposit back and they said they don’t know when they well have my deposit ready. I still have proper contracts and copys including signatures from the agency. The agency left me homeless aswell as trying to keep my deposit

We moved into their house on Aug 31st. When we arrived and realized there were a number of incomplete repairs, we were assured by the guy that made us sign that it would be taken care of in the days that followed. He told us to take pictures of everything so we did, he did not tell us before signing that we needed to write anything down, he didn't even let us read what we were signing he just rushed us to sign. Of course we had to record and document everything because we know how shady JD home rentals is, so we did, and we have on recording the guy promising us that several holes in our walls would be fixed, as well as the framing of our front and back doors, he also promised us we'd get gate doors, but of course all of that was not true. I made an account with the city for the water and garbage, a few days later I was contacted and they let me know that water and garbage would have to be billed from JD so they'd have to give us our trash cans, as usual it's been weeks and they still have failed to give us our trash cans. The city let me know it only takes 1-3 days for the trash cans to be delivered but of course JD still has yet to do their job, my pregnant girlfriend has filed a report against them and as expected they did nothing to fix any of the problems. The mold and bugs from the garbage is affecting her health and we are willing to take them to court if they do not do what was promised.
