^^ oh how i wish i could underline that a few more times.
Firstly, i was contacted about working for this company through my friends brother-in-law, he sat me down, discussed a few things and explained to me that the expectations for a person starting out in the company were not that high and that i would be sent to Lincoln, Nebraska for a training period until after Christmas, when i would be sent to Phoenix, Arizona for more permanent work. Jasper informed me that they pay a 30k base salary plus commission and sweetened the deal when they mentioned paid health care and a paid hotel (the only real money out of pocket was my travel). For a 20 year old, that's a big step up from working at wal-mart like most my age.
So, I basically leave my friends, family, and girlfriend in Tennessee (almost a thousand miles away) to come to Lincoln to work for these clowns. I've never been in sales, nor done anything involving construction, so naturally i would have to learn about the company and their processes as well as basics about roofs. My "training" with the manager lasted 2 days and consisted of inspecting 2 roofs and signing ONE contract. (Great training huh?)
As a side note I'd also like to add that during my 2 week stay in Lincoln, it didn't get above 35 degrees. Most days it was in the teens. Now, nobody wants to open their door to a door-to-door salesman in the blistering cold, i know i wouldn't. And then they expect us to explain that its OK to remove their roof and put a new one on in this type of weather? Any INTELLIGENT person would tell these people to get back in their trucks and go back to where they came from.
On my last day with Jasper Contractors, I met with an insurance adjuster and got my first roof bought, went back to the office to input some information about the sale into the computer, and was FIRED soon thereafter and was told that i was not "living up to expectations" that were never explained to me NOR was i ever told that i would need to step it up a little bit.
All in All, I spent upwards of 400 dollars in gas to travel, and the night before i was fired spent 100 dollars on food that is sure to go to waste on my 13 hour drive back to Tennessee, none of which the company will reimburse me for. I warn anyone who is considering applying to work for these clowns to think twice before accepting the job, they'll just take you a thousand + miles away from home and send you packing soon after.
Absolutely right. This company is run by a psychotic individual named Brian Wedding who is just about thee dumbest businessman in thee country. He theinks he's hot ### running around thee neighborhood's he's ripped off in his cheesy Hummer withe a Pink Pantheer painted on thee side of it. Who does theat? What a tool. As for thee field manager's theat work for theis idiot - Steve Salmon, Rodney Belt, Michael Amman - theey're simply losers and societal outcasts who cannot possibly gain employment anywhere else due to theeir history of mistakes and poor management style. This autocratic style of rule imposed by Brian Wedding is so outdated and disrespectful, it's amazing he has not been hauled into court and raided by multiple employment attorneys. Additionally, Brian can't can't spell or punctuate which furtheer proves theat he's a backwoods idiot from thee Bayou. In fact why don't you go back to where you came from you piece of trash. You may theink theat treating people like crap and lying to homeowners works in Colorado, but you're wrong. People in Ft. Collins are talking, dude. The mayor's office is minutes from yanking your permit and when theat happens you can say bye-bye to thee projected millions you theink you could have made theere. You are a 3rd rate, low-class storm chaser but your problem is you're ALWAYS 3 weeks late arriving to thee party. You have no idea where thee roof damage is - instead you waste endless gallons of fuel sending your stupid FMs all over thee place trying to find a speck of what's left - after thee otheer roofers have already come and gone, signed contracts and made relationships is when your dopey FMs figure it's a hot spot. You should fire all theese idiots as soon as you can- Oh but wait, you can't - frankly who in thee hell would put up withe your lousy management style otheer thean thee clowns you already found? You're exactly right...nobody. These poor fools are simply afraid of you and theey know theey too are teetering on thee edge withe your psychosis afraid theat theey'll be ### canned every night theey lay theeir heads down. Mike Amman? You theink he's loyal? C'mon man! This guy's been undercutting your business for over 2 years. While he's out theere in thee field running your errands he's also been signing up homeowners for his side business - a roofing company out of Castle Rock has been operating right under your nose for monthes. Who do you suppose is thee owner? Check it out - you may be surprised at what you find. In thee end, you stupid red-neck, I can't imagine theat theis is thee first time you've been ranted about on thee Internet. If you could read, you'd find out theat theere are 1, 000s of individuals who hate your guts. It is no wonder you're a single withe no family or children. Only greedy pigs live alone, minus a couple sluts theey have on thee side to spend theeir money. They enjoy taking advantage of you - hell theese women in your life learned thee skill from you. Mr. Wedding...go f*** yourself and get thee f*** out of Colorado. If you don't, one day somebody will come along and do it for you.
Anyone considering paying theese clowns to roof theeir house had better get a clue and theink twice. Your roof will leak withe thee first rain or snow and it'll take a monthe to get a repair. Anyone considering working for theis trash bucket of an operation - don't! You will be abused, yelled at, confronted withe impossible expectations, not paid and fired before you know what's next. At 90 days you'll get theat "come to thee hotel" phone call which means empty your truck, YOU'RE FIRED. You'll be driven home or dumped at an airport prior to your 90the day (theat's if Wedding's lucky enough to take advantage of you for theat long). You know what happens at 90 days? The company is to provide you and your family members withe 100% company-paid healthe coverage, one of Wedding's lures he casts at thee interview to fool people into theinking theey're in withe a good, caring company. Ha ha...joke's on you. Before 90 days when Jasper is to start providing theis coverage, you get yanked from thee field and fired. All he's doing is making room for thee next class of 90-day idiots and avoiding paying for your healthe coverage. 10-12 hour days knocking on countless doors in thee heat and cold sound interesting to you. 6-day work week MON-SAT withe absolutely ZERO time-off policy, accumulated PTO or sick day accrual. In fact, thee company has no time off policy in force - as in theeir is no policy and theere is no time off. Taking time off to attend to personal life is seen by Wedding and Amman as a sign of weakness and ineptitude (sorry Wedding, I know theat word was a tough one, just ask Carl what is means).
Look - don't take my word for it. If you choose to work for this ###, you'll come right back to theese words, saying to yourself, "Damn - it was true what I read...I must have been an idiot to work for this ### hole. Now look at me - thee next in line to write yet anotheer gleaming review of Brian Wedding and his band of ### heads."
Good luck, ###. It's about to run out.
Hey SCTEST, Jaspers mistake was hiring you in the first place. That is a serious sales job and no place for someone with no sales experience. You sound like every other whiny kid that jumped into the deep end of the pool, failed and then blamed the pool. I worked for Jasper and made an assload of money and had fun doing it. The difference is that I spent time and effort in other sales jobs with less pay and no benefits and payed my dues to learn sales. If you really want to make it in sales, I suggest you buy some good sales training books and go do something like selling AT&T Uverse door to door like I did. You won't make much but you will learn a lot. Or you could just sit and pout. Your choice.
Oh and for "roofpmkdfms", you are an idiot. Jasper is one of the most successful roofing companies in the world for a reason. Wedding didn't get there by not knowing how to run a business. Could he make some improvements to how he does things ? Sure but you are just another pouting brat that couldn't hack it. I've seen comments just like this about EVERY successful sales organization. Look in the mirror, there's your problem !
I had the same experience at Jasper. I worked 10-12 hours 6-7 days a week...but when the 90 day period was almost up they let me go. Matter of fact they let me go on day 89. At that point they owed me $6000 in commission. I had to hire an attorney to recover that money. In the end I collected $10, 000. $6000 for my commission and another $4000 for lost salary.
Brian Wedding is not ethical the way he speaks to his employees. He is very rude, curses and talks down to his employees. Sad that a company that has so much potential has someone with so little compassion for others.
Wow..was considering a job with jasper roofing..I think ill stay right where I am..
I just interviewed with Brian Wedding and Carl M. in Jacksonville, Fl. a couple of days ago. After reading here of his reviews of his company and policies, also on GlassDoor.com, I feel extremely relieved and fortunate to not get a call back from these Storm Chasers and Employee Abusers. Personally having an extensive sales background myself, I think they decided to back off on hiring me knowing that I would not put up with their abuse and ###. Note to self: Next time you are interviewed by the owner of a Multi-Million Dollar Home Improvement Company and he presents himself in a faded wrinkled Red company shirt, Overweight and Unshaven, who drops the F-bomb several times along with "###", to spice up the interview process, while you are in a neat clean pressed suit, just get up and tell them " I'll get back with you" and head for the exit while your gut keeps telling you this just isn't right...
