coursed on what to say before court hearing
I was 19 years of age when I entered my first transaction with JG Wentwroth in St Louis MO where I was told word for word what to say during court hearing to make sure the courts would approve the selling go my structure settlement of 1.4 million dollars in exchange for $100k from a malpractice lawsuit from whenI was born.Only 2 years later in California I was able to sale more of my benefits several times over the next few years
J.G. Wentworth took advantage of me when I was 19 years old and took me for $95k and a judgement on my credit report
I was 19 in 1996 and knew nothing about structured settlements being bought. There was a man who called me explaining that he could give me money in exchange for my future structured settlements which I won in a settlement after getting run over by a 2 ton log when I was 11. I am now 46 years old and if I knew then what I know now I would have kept it all...

This is a complete scam and when I set up an account with them I thought they were helping me instead it was one of the worst decisions of my life.
In over 6 months they only settled one of my accounts out of six. I was told they had good standing with creditors and they would be able to help but this company only made things worse. When you call in they make you feel like they're helping you but in reality they only take advantage of you in your desperate situation and screw you out of your hard earned money.
I should have looked at the reviews more closely.
Talk with the credit card company because they will help you more than J.G. Wentworth.
I agree with this! they just did this to me!

Structured settlement
I was 10 when I lost my mother in a car wreck we were in. I never even knew I had money until I was 26. At this point I was living in my car had no where to go. I heard a rumour I had money It was being spent by a family guardian. I contacted jg Wentworth to see my options and was immediately pressured into selling to them with no understanding of counter offers or even how any of it worked. Just knew it got me out of my car. They gave me 98,000 for almost 400,000. I bought a home. Come to find out I could've got almost 250,000 if I would shopped around. I was in no mental state of mind to even know what was going on. They reconnected with me a few years down the road wanting more transactions to occur and I asked about the reason for no competitor match. They recommended this time try Peachtree for a quote. Come to find out they are the same place after I get the quote. So I was got twice. Now they send me 50 every month for a quote. I'm like not much but it is what it is. Today they were rude and hateful told me how do they even know I have money left. I asked to speak to the manager. I was told I am the manager. Jg You have did all my business and you check my court records to tell me. They know more than I do still about my annuity. Now they are offering me 7,500 for 383,000 worth of payments and not approving the $50 card unless I give them paperwork showing I still get payments. I gave them permission on the phone to get what they need but I was told I was being aggressive. So not sure who's the aggressor here. Me saying I won't accept $7500 can I have my $50 card activated as stated in your flyer you send me every month. Which is baiting unstable people. My money is sitting with me. I get almost 2500 a month when it starts back. Smh. They are joke and are preying on poverty stricken people who don't have options and they know we will say whatever to whomever just to survive even if there is no cognitive mindset there. The least they can do is activate what you send me if you gonna keep baiting. The fish sometimes wins. So get yourself a lawyer and save yourself the grief. You will get more money in the end.
Desired outcome: Court litigation to correct transaction due to the mental stability I was in during the 1st transaction.
Trusting JG was a mistake. Customer service was lousy. Little was accomplished in over 6 months in their debt consolidation program. They were excellent in collecting their fees though. Bunch of crooks.
Structure settlement
I was 17 my mom got killed in auto accident jg Wentworth called and being I was on the streets they told me that I could sell half as I followed through not knowing what I was doing when I turned of age for the second I had nothing left they mislead me on 500,000 dollars I feel they owe me. I didn't understand from the start and they kept pushing me telling me we will send you money now to get on feet.
Desired outcome: I want what you took from me off my mother's deTh

unethical behaviour
We have contacted jg wentworth multiple times since my husband lost his job to figure out what are options were available once becoming behind on our mortgage.in december 2018 we were sent a package of information and a list of everything that needed to be sent in. We faxed in all the required documents. We received a letter jan. 10 2019 stating we needed additional info. Spoke with a rep who stated to resend everything we previously sent (as I forgot to check 1 box) plus the additional documents (employer letter contributor letter proof of occupancy). We sent them new documents on january 31st, 2019. Since jan 10th 2019 we have not received a single document or notification from them stating they still required more documents - how is that legal?. As time past we decided to call to see where we stood. This time we were told a few more documents were being requested (willingness and understanding letter, profit and loss statement and paystubs) - again we never received a document asking for any of this. So we faxed this in feb. 21st 2019. We have contacted them almost daily since. Then on feb. 26th we received a letter stating since we have not been in contact with them our loan is being sent to a foreclosure committee. So we contacted them again asking why this is the case as we have obviously been in contact. We were told they do not contact you if they are still waiting on the same documents as stated in their january 10th letter. Wtf?! We sent them those documents multiple times and when we have talked to multiple people in february not one of them stated these documents were still required. Today we were told the documents we sent in were not valid. How and when were we going to find out these documents are not valid? We still do not know why they are not valid! Everything is signed and dated. They do not contact you to tell you your documents are not valid how the f* is this legal? When you contact them they do not tell you the documents are not valid? Since this is the last week for us to make a payment before it goes to the foreclosure committee the customer service has gone so far south it's pathetic. Before this week everyone explained what we need to do and was friendly, now this week it's a bunch of well you should have done this and that so we can't do anything for you. I have documents dating every time we sent a fax, how many pages and every time we called them. We have done everything they have asked and they still give you the run around. At one point we were told we just needed to make 1 payment, now it's 2 and if we make 2 payments then we are required to make a payment plan, and all of this process we have just gone through is worthless. We are just trying to do a re modification on the loan so we can finally be on normal ground again, after being unemployed for a year, during which we paid every month, until the last 2. I feel this company is just baiting customers along until the very last second and then screwing them over and going straight to a foreclosure committee so we are now required to pay more fees. How is it legal not to send documents letting a customer know what is needed or that something is invalid? And how is it legal to be lied to over the phone - being told one thing and then last minute everything changes? I feel like everything they are doing is illegal! This company is so big nothing will be done and nothing will change - other than the second I get a chance i'm taking my home loan and transferring it to another bank! But i'm going to blast jg wentworth every where I go and I will never recommend them.
prepaid visa debit card
They sent me a card with $200 loaded on it. It expired (which is illegal in California) but still had a balance of 177.30 10 days ago. I got another card sent to me that expires in July 2020 and can't get it activated because no one knows anything about it - I was transferred from card services to structured settlements( which has nothing to do with me getting the card) to mortgages, to incentives, to mortgages back to card services then back to mortgages only to be told no one knows about it or can't activate it. I still have a balance on the card that belongs to me with a card they won't activate.
treatment of veteran on short sale
JG Wentworth hates Veterans?
I am representing an owner of a home, a VETERAN that served our country, in the short sale of their home. Let me start with J.G. Wentworth has been very unhelpful during the entirety of this transaction. They have a viable contract in their possession that meets the terms of what they were asking to net out of the deal and they are rushing to foreclose on this Veteran and his family! The VA has even gotten involved since they are backing the loan on this property in Stafford County, Va, and has asked twice for an extension of 60 days on the foreclosure and J.G. Wentworth will not even acknowledge an official from the VA with this request! The veteran and his family has jumped through every loop that this bank has asked them to do. Getting paperwork back the same day as requested. Why are they rushing to foreclose on the owner when they have a contract in place that is exactly what they asked for? Why do they make the process so long and tedious by using fax machine? Why do they take 48 hours or longer to acknowledge any paperwork sent to them? They drag their feet through the entire process. but now they can rush to foreclosure. This is a slap in the face of this Veteran and his family. This was their dream home, their forever home! He had his body broken down through service for our country and this is the best they can do?
loan closing and compensation
On March 16, 2018 JG Wentworth proved to be incompetent and unresponsive in getting their primary task completed-closing a home loan on time. I began the application process over two months before we needed to close on a new house (I had to wait to lock my rate-two months before closing.) They were not able to deliver the paper work to the closing attorney on time. To rub salt in our wounds on closing day the closing attorney tried over and over to get in touch with our loan processor and no one returned their call-all day. We were supposed to close our loan at 4:00 pm on Friday and when all parties arrived at the closing attorney's office they had not heard one word from JG Wentworth concerning our closing package. Needless to say the people we were purchasing the house from were furious and we were out on the street for three days (it was Friday.) We incurred and documented over $3800.00 in expenses and loss of wages, not to mention the embarrassment and anxiety they caused us. Everything we owned was in a locked house we did not own. JG Wentworth offered us a remediation gesture of $1, 279.46 that does not begin to cover the loss we incurred as a result of their utter ineptitude and lack of corporate and personal professionalism. When asked how they arrived at the amount offered Mr. Van Richardson stated that "we felt this was a fair gesture we could provide to try and remediate your experience." Mr. Richardson gave no explanation as to how he arrived at the amount he offered in spite of the documentation we provided.
While the compensation offered does not cover our, losses I would like to settle this matter. I contacted Mr. Van Richardson on June 4, 2018 and stated that I would take the compensation he offered. He told me that the compliance and legal departments are now handling my complaints. After numerous emails asking him for contact information of these departments he told me to contact the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Protection Agencies directly and JG Wentworth would be responding with them directly. After the humiliation of not closing our loan on time now they are not paying the compensation they promised.
They lost my trust paperwork and when I resent it to them, they never filed it with the county. They are absolutely worthless

structured settlement
I was in dire need of money from my settlement payments and I ended up taking an offer of $47, 000 for $250, 000 worth of payments from j.g wentworth. A few weeks in, I was contacted by a Michael Davis, he was able to offer me $74, 000.00 for the exact same payments. He explained to me that if you do not shop around these companies will do whatever they can to take advantage of you! Michael used to work for a few big name companies and now works for him self and helps people that are being taken advantage of. If you really need some help on selling your payments give him a call his cell phone is [protected].

call center agent bran id473357
My husband called JGWentworth customer service, he spoke to Bran ID 473357. My husband initially told him he wanted to speak to the supervisor because our payment are not being taken out of our checking out again. We called several times, given many confirmation or reference number, talked to one of the supervisor named Ms. keys but we still have the same dilemma. This agent keep repeating the same question over and over as if he's reading out of a script. My husband already told him several times we want to talk to the supervisor, he kept on debating as if he knows what he is saying. Bran even threatened us that we could loose our house which is absurd. Totally! He kept heckling around that seems like his intention to annoy and irritate my husband more, he even said that we're being recorded, as if it's not a de facto by any call center (dull-witted!). The supervisor Mr. Stumpf ID3966 promised he will look into this agent. This is agent is rubbish! I hope you won't get to experience what we had with this guy.
don't return my messages
Start with not answering my messages, the sick things is that stupid commercials the 2 guys and a girl sing bad. All commercials is the dumbest. I have to change the chanel the commercial nord. I guess they can't answer phone because they are to busy making dumb commercials, what a [censor]. Ready all the complaint what a rip off jg wentworth really are. Sad, sad.
annuity payment
I have done transactions with JG Wentworth. My annuity company holder sends my checks to JG and in turn they are supposed to mail me my portion. I am required to have it by the 1st every month per court order from my settlement. I have been calling all week to see if they have sent my check yet. I got a "no" every time. It is now Friday and the 1st is on Sunday. They have STILL not sent my check and I now have to call back on Monday and request a advance of MY OWN MONEY from them because they claim they haven't received the check from the insurance company. I just got told by a "Jay" that I should have requested a advance and its basically my fault they will not have my money to me by the 1st of the month PER COURT ORDER THAT HAS BEEN IN PLACE SINCE 1988! Even though I have been calling ALL WEEK! I will be contacting my attorney. I have direct payments coming out that will be returned because JG failed to send me my money. The practice of over talking people and blaming everyone else is a specialty of these guy's. I am beyond angry and fed up with the run around. Not ONE TIME did they call me but apparently its my fault for not requesting a advance of my own money?! This is all court ordered by the way. I have a BIG feeling when my attorney contacts the appropriate people it will be found out thia has nothing to do with anyone else other than JG Wentworth. I will not let them side step me or my court order from my mother dying because they suck at their job.
What happened Did they ever reimburse you because I'm going through the same thing now. They sent the part that I didn't sell to JJ Wentworth and they're telling me that they didn't get the check yet It was paid out probably over a week ago. Well Jg went with it's my money and I need it now.
structured settlement
Jg Wentworth are the biggest crooks in the settlement industry! I was attempting to sell my entire settlement they lured me in with false promises of no legal fees and fast cash upfront (all lies) after I signed up it was almost impossible to hear from my rep. Always getting the run around. Anyways, have way through my transaction I get a call from Brandon Hong a settlement broker who works with private investors. He mentions that jg lies all the time and always rips people off. He gives me a quote that not only beats jg Wentworths deal it almost doubles the offer for the same payments! I thought it was too good to be true so I told him to send me the contract and I took it to my attorney and he told me he trusts this contract more than Wentworth, it clearly says they charge no fees and what I am quoted that is what I receive. My court date is Friday and I recommend Brandon 100 percent his personal cell number is [protected] he always answers any questions I have no matter what time of day It is! Call him if you decide to sell your settlement you would not be disappointed.
refinance
On February 21, 2017 I started a refinance through the Costco website and was contacted by JG Wentworth. I was working with Jennifer Cicotte, I proceeded with the company on the assumption my property would appraise at the purchase price. I paid the $450 for the appraisal and they verified our credit rating was excellent and we were approved for a loan but our property value came in at over 80% so they decided not to proceed and Jennifer told us they would refund our money for the appraisal. She specially said they were not in the business of keeping appraisal money for loans that they decided not to finance.
My complaint is, it is now April 7, 2017 and I have left voice mails and sent emails to Jennifer Cicotte and have received no response. I chose Costco as it's reputation of supplying companies with good standing and practices has been outstanding but this diminishes that reputation.
! Ignoring my voice mails and emails on just a request to know an ETA on this is unprofessional and unacceptable. I would my $450 to be refunded as you promised
Omg this is the same run around i'm getting from, daniel/luke, sam duran, stephanie, ronique, uriel, this has been dragging on for close to 60 days now I think and cant get anyone to step up and gi8ve me a real answer, this is a super poorly run company, at every single level. its a bait and switch deal I was promised $900 loan cost/origination fee, and appraisal fee refunded at close and 3.75 % no points or fees, so I gave up the loan I already had ready to close for these terms and here I am with neither right now and my adjustable has gone to 5 % in the mean time. who is in charge here?
harassment
I talked to these guys back in 2006 or around that date. I told them back them, nevermind, that they want to much money and to not call anymore.. I have changed my number 3 times since then. But, some how they call me on the new number everytime.. They are literally stalking and harassing me. I need them to leave me alone, this is getting to be ridiculous
ripped me off.
In 1997 I received a structured settlement (from a job related accident. I had my left hand crushed by a hydraulic press machine. Lost 2 fingers on my left hand and the other fingers are paralyzed ) from fireman's fund ins of $2726 monthly payments for 25yrs and a lump sum payment of $500, 000 due to me on may 1st 2022. In 1998 jg wentworth got in touch with me via telephone calls and mail trying to convince me to sell them my monthly payments, unfortunately I gave in and sold 3yrs worth from [protected] and got $75, 000 for that transaction. Shortly after on that same year they continued to call me saying that I should sell them more payments, at one point the sale rep told me i should enjoy my money now because tomorrow I could be dead and many other things, so I sold them 2yrs from [protected] and got $31, 000. The following year (1999)I sold them 5yrs [protected] and recieved $50, 000. That same year (1999) I sold them another 3yrs from [protected] and recieved $12, 000 and a couple of months later I sold them 4yrs from [protected] and recieved $11, 000. The following year (2000) I sold them my remaining payments, 83 payment in total from [protected] and recieved $10, 000. In 2001 I declared bankruptcy. Somehow the insurance company diverted the payment for about 6months to my residence and I cashed them. Jg wentworth sued me fot this and took out a lien in a California court (I live in NY) on my $500, 000 lump sum claiming I owe them $19, 000. BTW I never saw a judge for any of these transactionsI only saw a lawyer that wentworth recommend for me to use and the lawyer never gave me advise on the transactions or anything he just said sign here, here and here and I got funded in less than a week. I was in a bad financial situation for years lost my job, my home, ect it's kinda hard to find employment due to my disability. I was desperate so I contacted wentworth so I could sell my $500, 000 I spoke to a keith mayers and he devoured me over the phone saying rude things to me and that he wasn't going to buy my lump sum and no one else could buy it because they hold a lien against and I had to wait until 2022. In 2011 Peachtree send me a post card saying they could buy my lump sum. I told them about the lien wentworth had against me so they told me "don't worry we have a good relationship with them" . The transaction took a long time because they had to cancel the lien in California and do some other legal paper work. Finally in 2012 I sold Peachtree $450, 000 and recieved $170, 000 from which jg wentworth took $19, 000. I know that the structured settlement protection act was introduced to NY in 2002 but I know they gave me pennies on the dollar and those transaction were unfair. If there's anyone who can help me, perhaps look over the contracts, and all legal paper work. please contact me [protected]@gmail.com

delay in monthly passbacks
there is always a delay with my monthly passbacks. Original addendum states I should get my monthly monies in a timely manner(usually before or by the 5th). I feel like that is a breach of contract when my money is not wired or deposited on time.
Secondly, the numerous transactions that I have entered in with them yet, they keep dropping the ball on so-called "documents" they were never submitted to the courts. This has happened twice and now I'm being harassed to sign documents that should have been included with original contract. This whole thing smells of deceit and I'm seeking new legal counsel to look into it.
unethical practice
I was totally ripped off. My ex husband and i wanted to buy a house and were so excited. It was in December 2006 we were all scheduled to go to court. I was to be selling 450thousand dollars for 125thousand dollars. We went into court and only had 10 minutes to sign the papers before we would see the judge. We went through and signed all the papers quite quickly then went to see the judge who then asked are you sure you want to sell part of your settlement. I was so excited to get my house and didn't have one minute to read what was signed neither did my ex. We just assumed we were signing what we agreed to on the phone. NOT TURE. I was stoled from. No scam. It was right out theft. Cost me 850 thousand. Worst part when i was going through my divorce my ex said to his lawyer she must have taken money out of her settlement. To both our surprise our lawyers checked my settlement both his and mine and found that JGWentwoths company stole it during our deal in 2006. Needless to say we were both shocked. Best advise. Keep your money find another way. You would be surprised what lawyers and greedy company will do. Too late for me. But not for you. Everything here is the truth.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Yes, Its absolute 100% true! You went there! My ex and i were. What a judgmental fool you are. Lucky you! You Must have not had much of a settlement for it to be taken from you. You mean Lack of TRUST!
First off, I'll state this right out that I do NOT work for JGW, but I have done a settlement with them, so I know how this works. You do not have "ten minute" to sign your paperwork. I was explained to from top to bottom how much money I would be selling and how much I would be getting back from it. They are INCREDIBLY up front about "You get this, and we take this", more so than some other companies I've tried dealing with. You state straight up you were too excited to read the paperwork - LEGAL PAPERWORK - they were giving you to sign. That is not JGW's fault, that is your own. Always, always, always read paperwork before signing ANYTHING.
Second, yes, they did "take" it back in 2006. When I sold part of my settlment last month, it was under the agreement that in 2020 when I get what is supposed to be the last half of my settlement, what I sold JGW and what I took out will already be deducted from the amount. This is not stealing - this is the agreement you made and agreed to when you signed a paper you were too excited to read.
Don't blame a company doing their job for your own lack of responsibility.
