This site provides a variety of amusing content, but
This site provides a variety of amusing content, but your level of interest in that will be subjective and based on your own taste.
I am reviewing this site purely in terms of their business conduct, which I found to be excellent. I am no longer interested in using this site, and unbeknownst to me, I had left it on auto-renewal on an annual basis. When I saw the charge come through, I submitted a cancellation and refund request on their online form. I received a refund within 5 MINUTES of submitting my request. Frankly, anything within a day would've been fine by me, and this was above and beyond.
In addition, when I went into my account profile, there was a clear option to disable auto-renewal, so I was able to do that to prevent further charges before I even received the refund.
I'm not interested in this site's content anymore, but their professional conduct in this matter has certainly made me willing to do business with them again in the future.
Fun
There are a lot of fun options to slide your faces into: pictures, music videos, and gifs. There are also some funny gifs and emojis (without the face option). You can take a selfie or use your photo gallery to place the heads. Editing is easy and intuitive with different face shapes: pointy or square jawline, even one for pets. I like that you can name your "heads" and save them for future use. There are a lot of free options for non members. I also appreciate that there are options for membership subscription payment (such as paying through your Amazon account).
I have been able to send the JibJabs without any issues and even download some to send later. There are a lot of holiday and birthday options so I see myself getting a lot of use out of this. Of course, some of the humor is sophomoric (farting or Magic Mike-esque dancing), so those things could be offensive to some people, know your audience. Most are just good fun. What I have sent so far hasn't failed in getting a laugh!

Birthday video search
The first video I used was awesome. Possibly because I had the bday persons picture. The second video, I had no available picture and it seemed to me the choices were lacking. I understand there are some people who complain about any and every thing and you can't always please. The 2nd intended recipient is mid 50's and overweight. Most of the available choices that were not for younger people would have been cutting and degrading... not my choice for a well intended bday offering. Possibly a little more variety would help. I like the idea of the site and since I'm stuck in a wheelchair, it's quite convenient. Just begging for more variety and possibly inclusion of a few of the more prevalent races living here. I'm friends with people from several ethnic backgrounds. I'm sure you are interested in your site growing and I intend to do my part to help by using it for the majority of my well wishing to the people I know on all occasions. As convenient as the service is, I'm sure many of them will become members as well. Thank you.

Prompt refund and full satisfaction
The following issue was handled promptly by Heather. This greatly increases my confidence in using this service and I will likely continue using it. [The website could be better as then the issue outlined below wouldn't have occurred.]
Details
I have a paid service with JibJab which renews automatically. I used it around Christmas and it appears the website did not recognize my account but did recognize that I had a PayPal account. When I started building an e-card, I may have inadvertently clicked on a PayPay Instant transfer button. I already have a membership to JibJab which renews automatically in June 2020. Therefore I should not have been charged for using it on Dec 26 2019.The charge shows up on my bank statement as PAYPAL INST XFER ACH WEB-SINGLE JIBJAB.COM -$18.00. [Strangely, PayPal has not record of this transaction - I am doing a f/u with them separately.] I requested a refund on this charge, or failing that I wanted to cancel my automatic renewal to the service. I could not do this using the website as it kept giving me "internal server error" messages. Thank you.
Heather issued me a refund and cancelled the automatic renewal. I thank her for resolving this promptly.
James Brown "I Feel Good" dancing Birthday card for bro was
"too funny!" I perused some of your cards and thought the above was the one. On the occasion of my brother's birthday, I noticed that an old photo of him had just had uploaded to his Facebook. I merely wished him a Happy Birthday and told I hoped he was feeling good. After a few mistries, I was able to seamlessly insert his head into your card with a perfect result! My comment was about your only being as-young-as-you-Feel-Good, so I think the song title is a natural fit for older people's birthdays. Aside from great dance moves taken for the card's central character (a white James Brown in this case), the modern psychelic backgrounds were great, and the sound-effects accompanying the dance moves were funny and not over-done. Bravo!
Initially I had my card and was ready to pay, but I saw there were preferences and other settings and things to look at. I did not want to have notifications sent to me. But I was unable to get back to where I was, and had to start over a couple times. MAYBE YOUR MEMBER OPTIONS SHOULD INCLUDE A MESSAGE FOR MEMBER TO COMPLETE ORDERING AND RETURN TO MODIFY OPTIONS. On the plus-side, I then ended up taking the time to experiment with different croppings of my original picture of my brother, and found that pretty easy, before sending out my card.
Personalized Email Cards Made Easy with JibJab
I had a situation where I couldn't be with my sister on her birthday, but I still wanted to give her something special. I decided to send her an email card, and after doing some online searching, I found JibJab. It was the first one on the list, and I can see why! I was in a rush, so I didn't have much time to explore the whole JibJab catalog, but I found enough to know that I will be renewing my subscription. I sent her four "add a face" cards, and it was so much fun making them! I know my sister's sense of humor, so I had a basic idea of what kind of cards I wanted to send and whose pictures would be in them. Once I found the cards, all I had to do was get the specific pictures to fit them, and the process was incredibly easy.
I didn't get a chance to look at the whole catalog, but I'm sure I'll be able to find more great cards to use for different occasions. It's super fun being able to personalize them! My sister called me after opening the cards, and she enjoyed them. She even said that she was going to check out the website for her own potential future use. So, some JibJab cards may be coming back at me in the future!
JibJab is a great service for being able to instantly send someone an email card, or like I did, you can choose a future date for it to be sent. It's perfect for any occasion or reason. I would recommend that you give JibJab a try. It's a fantastic way to show someone that you care, even if you can't be there in person.
JibJab's Sneaky Membership Tactics and Difficult Cancellation Process
So, I gotta say, I had a bit of a rough time trying to cancel my membership with jibjab.com. Even though I didn't pay for it, they still made me sign up before they told me I had to pay. Sneaky, right?
Anyway, when I finally decided I wanted out, I couldn't find an easy way to do it. They told me to go to my email preferences and ask not to be written to, but that didn't really solve the problem. I was still "a member" and still in their system.
So, I wrote to them and demanded that they cancel my membership and remove all my details. They wrote back and said they did it, but then they wrote AGAIN to ask if I was happy with their customer service. Like, seriously? I just told you I never want to see you again and you're asking if I'm satisfied?
But here's the thing that really got me: how do they even still have my email address? I want out, off their system, no more jibjab in my life and no more me in theirs. It's like they just can't let go.
Anyway, I was hoping this review would be my chance to have the last word, but of course, I had to give my email address to leave it. Talk about a catch-22. I'm just sitting here laughing hysterically, waiting for the men in white coats to come collect me.
Oh, and I guess I should mention that even though I was too cheap to pay for the video I actually wanted, the free one I ended up sending to my 75-year-old mother in the hospital was a hit. It featured my 46-year-old self and my 40-year-old girlfriend doing a gymnastics routine in purple leotards. She loved it.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with JibJab: Unread Ecards and Refund Only
I gotta say, I'm not too thrilled with JibJab at the moment. I've been using their site for years to send some hilarious ecards to my family during the holidays, but this year, things didn't go so smoothly. I sent out a bunch of ecards, but when I checked the site, they were all marked as "unread" even though my family members hadn't received them. I reached out to the customer service team and got a response from a guy named Taylor. But let me tell you, his response was not what I was hoping for. He didn't explain why the ecards hadn't been delivered and didn't seem to make any effort to fix the problem. Instead, he just refunded my subscription and called it a day. I mean, sure, I asked for a refund if nothing could be done, but I was hoping for some kind of explanation or investigation into the issue. As a paying customer, I want to have confidence that the ecards I send through JibJab will actually make it to their intended recipients. Taylor did mention that I can still access the site, but what good is that if I can't send ecards without a subscription? I feel like I've been brushed off and ignored. I was hoping for some kind of resolution, but instead, I've lost my subscription and the ability to send ecards. And to top it off, Taylor's email didn't even include the comments I had requested in my original feedback. I'm not satisfied with how this has been handled and I'm hoping for a better response from JibJab.
JibJab Review: Limited Selection and Frustrating Membership Options
I was pretty okay with the $2.99 monthly fee for JibJab. It gave me the freedom to use the app whenever I wanted to. However, I have to say that the selection of choices is not that vast. And to be honest, many of the ones that are available are not really something that I would send to someone because they're just plain boring. I think I paid the $2.99 twice, but I'm not really sure about that. Anyway, I think I've only used about 5 or 6 of the available choices.
Then, while I was in a mad rush to personalize one of the choices and post it on someone's Facebook page, it suddenly popped up with a message saying that I must be a member to use that feature. I thought I was already a member since I had been posting on other people's timelines. By the way, you can't save a hard copy of anything you make without paying an additional $1.99 or $2.99, I can't remember which one.
So now, it won't give me the monthly $2.99 option anymore. It has a slash through it and will only let me pay a year in advance. There was no notice prior to this moment that I was no longer a member or whatever. I was in the middle of a project when this happened, and it was really frustrating. And like an idiot, I paid for the year in advance because I needed it at that moment. However, I didn't need a year's worth of only 5 or 6 choices that I could utilize.
To be honest, the majority of the choices are definitely boring, somewhat childish, not funny, or even cute for that matter. They're slightly bewildering and whatever. I think JibJab is just another app that tries to get all they can get out of their patrons. There are a few exceptions, but most of the choices are just not that great.
JibJab Review: Beware of Overcharging and Refund Process
I just started using JibJab and I'm not really good at it yet. I was using it for free and then I saw that you could join for $1.50 a month. I thought maybe it would give me more songs to choose from and other stuff that's not available for free. So I picked $1.50 a month. The next day, I called my bank's automated line to check my account balance because my internet was down and I was overdrawn. After resetting my modem and going to my online bank account, I saw that JibJab had charged me $18.00, which is the $1.50 a month amount for a whole year. My bank agreed to do a one-time thing where they would remove the overdraft fee of $29.00 once JibJab refunded my money. There is a page on JibJab where you can request a refund if you had chosen the $1.50 a month option and were charged $18.00. I love JibJab, but the fact that they seem to know this happens a lot, enough to word a refund request that way, tells me they either have some bugs to work out or need to add to the payment page the option of paying $18.00 for a whole year. I live on a fixed income and I admit I became very angry. So I requested the refund and there is a box where you can explain, again, why you want the refund. I am not a rude person, but I admit the last sentence was rude. I have received my refund and Danielle, the Director of Customer Support, was very nice and said I will receive my refund in 3 to 5 business days, depending on my bank. Their customer support is great, and I apologized for my last comment when I requested a refund. I don't know if there are any differences in using JibJab for free or if you pay to use it. But I will continue to use it for free. My sister has been sending me silly ecards from JibJab for some time now. It's hilarious and I love it.
Constructive Feedback for JibJab: Need for Competitive Marketing Strategy and New Exciting Media
I joined JibJab a few years ago and decided to renew this year. I really enjoyed the rockin Christmas video and others, but I was a bit disappointed to find that there aren't many new and exciting videos available. I understand that producing media can be costly, especially when it comes to paying royalties. As someone who invests and produces in the film industry, I know how important it is to be competitive in the online media space.
That being said, I'm writing this review to offer some constructive support. I love the concept of JibJab, but if you want to excite the media today, you need a competitive marketing strategy. You guys need a few viral videos! There are so many opportunities for free media concepts that would fit into romantic (including holiday) productions without the tremendous cost. For example, you could make a "Top of the Empire State Building Romantic" video (like the movie "An Affair to Remember" or a more modern version like "Sleepless in Seattle" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan). The music is free, the shooting venue is free, and the concept will excite women (especially those getting married or who have just accepted a marriage proposal). The possibilities in New York City are amazing.
Additionally, you might want to consider marketing a bit differently. When I asked my children (9) or my 7 grandchildren about JibJab, only one recognized the brand! You need some excitement and you just missed the biggest holiday of the year. Your goal should be to create really new and exciting media that gets the internet buzzing.
God bless and I wish you the best! My company (and I'm not looking for work!) has overseen many video productions with over 48 going viral. I don't want to share any information, but I would be willing to offer some ideas for free. Why? Because I love your concept and I want to see you grow!
Best regards.
JibJab Review: Misleading and Frustrating Membership System
I gotta say, I was pretty excited when I first signed up for JibJab. I mean, who wouldn't want to make their own hilarious videos with their friends' faces on them? But let me tell you, it was not as easy as I thought it would be.
As a free member, I kept getting these emails about all these new video clips I could customize and use. But every time I tried to use them, I'd get so far with it (after spending a LONG time selecting, uploading and setting-up each, separate face), but then find I could progress no further without paying-up for a 'full' membership. And let me tell you, that was a real bummer.
But I'm not one to give up easily, so I tried again. This time, I thought I could complete the project as a 'free' member as long as I paid for the individual video to be completed and downloaded at the end. But after almost an hour of repeated attempts to finish the video that always ended in excruciatingly frustrating failure, I finally 'bit the bullet' and paid for a 'full' membership.
And what did I find? I found that, in order to download the video for my own, personal use, I had to STILL pay a one-off, extra fee in order to do that! I mean, come on, JibJab, that's just not cool.
I feel like I've been conned by you guys. Not only did I have to pay for a year's full membership (which is automatically renewed, by the way - so I've got to be on the ball to cancel myself if I don't want to pay again next year!), but I'll still have to pay again for every new video clip I customize with you in the future, if I want to download and have full control over how I distribute it.
Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed in the way you operate. It feels like you deliberately mislead people into paying twice, and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. You should either charge for full membership and then allow free downloads during the operational year, or else allow people to finish customizing their videos in a free account, then have them pay to download each one individually - not BOTH, like you are doing!
Overall, I gotta say, it's a bad show, JibJab. I'm not sure I'll be using your services again in the future.
Laugh Your Butt Off with This Hilarious Face-Swapping App: A Review
This app is so funny, I can't even tell you. You can put your friends' faces on all sorts of famous people in videos and it's just hilarious. I love that you can make gifs, cards, and videos for different occasions. Some of it is free, but if you want the really good stuff, you gotta upgrade. Overall, I give it three thumbs up because it's just so darn funny.
The only thing that bummed me out was that I thought all the videos in the app were copyright-free, but turns out that's not always the case. I tried to post one on Facebook and it got flagged for copyright infringement. I even tried to sneak it in through the backdoor by saving the video and uploading it myself, but no dice. Facebook was like "nah, son." It was like trying to get past Gandalf in Lord of the Rings. He was all like "you shall not pass!" and I was like "come on, man!" But hey, maybe it was just that one video. Who knows?
The good news is that if you have any issues, the customer service team is top-notch. They respond quickly and are super friendly. They'll help you out with whatever you need.
So yeah, get this app and get ready to laugh your butt off. It's worth it.
JibJab Review: Predatory Business Practices and Nightmare Refund Process
JibJab, oh boy, where do I even start? Let me tell you, this company signed me up for their yearly plan without even asking me. Can you believe that? And to make matters worse, they set up auto-renew without my consent. I mean, what kind of business does that? It's just downright predatory if you ask me.
Now, I know what you're thinking. Maybe I wasn't paying attention during the sign-up process. But let me tell you, I work for a big company where I help people set up their online businesses. So, I know a thing or two about online scams and how to avoid them. I was paying close attention during the sign-up process, but I still got duped.
I trusted JibJab because my dad had been using them for a while, and he never noticed anything suspicious. But let me tell you, my Spidey senses were tingling, and I should have listened to them. After checking my account, I saw that they had set up auto-renew without my consent. It took me over ten clicks just to turn it off, and even then, it still said it was on.
But wait, it gets worse. The refund process was a nightmare. I had to go through over fifteen clicks and fill out two lengthy and misleading forms. It was so difficult that I doubt the average person could have gotten through it. But I persevered, and I finally got a response. They gave me a full refund, or at least that's what they said. I'll have to wait and see if the money actually shows up in my account.
Here's the thing, though. Predatory businesses like JibJab make the refund process difficult on purpose. They know that most people won't bother, so they keep the maximum profits from their scam. It's all about making as much money as possible before the holiday season ends.
Now, I'm not saying that JibJab is a scam, but they sure act like one. They charge for a service that costs them nothing but hosting fees, and they deliberately hide the auto-renew in fine print. It's all just a ploy to get as much money as possible from unsuspecting customers.
And yet, they have a good product, so you want to like them. But trust me, don't fall for it. They may have given me a refund, but they lost my trust. And trust is hard to come by online.
So, JibJab, if you're reading this, listen up. You need to improve your business practices if you want to keep customers. You may have my dad's trust, but you lost mine. And I'm not the only one. I know of at least one other person who had a similar experience. So, if you genuinely care about your business, you need to study online business practices and make some changes. Otherwise, you'll keep losing customers, and eventually, you'll go out of business.
JibJab Review: The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread!
JibJab is the bomb dot com! I mean, seriously, it's the best thing since sliced bread. I can't get enough of it! The website is super easy to use and the videos are hilarious. I love being able to put my face (and my friends' faces) on the characters in the videos. It's so much fun to see us all dancing and singing together.
I've used JibJab for birthdays, holidays, and just for fun. It's always a hit with my friends and family. They always ask me how I made the videos and I tell them it's all thanks to JibJab. I also love that there are new videos added all the time, so there's always something new to try out.
The only downside is that sometimes the website can be a little slow, but that's to be expected with all the traffic it gets. Overall, I would highly recommend JibJab to anyone looking for a good laugh and a fun way to share videos with friends and family. It's the bee's knees!
JibJab Complaints 42
Have been being charged 18.00 from Jibjab and assuming it was a mistake, sent a request for refund
Have been being charged 18.00 from Jibjab and assuming it was a mistake, sent a request for refund. No response and numerous requests since, nothing. This company takes money yearly without permission. Refuses to respond to any requests for refunds. I have now sent probably 15 requests and they do nothing. Probably bc they are crooked scammers that do not want to do the right thing and give people the money back that they have been wrongfully charging for years.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Took $24 out of my bank account. I have never requested a service with them. This happened after I changed my PayPal password? Checked my bank statement saw $24 came out for paypal jibjab? I do not use my paypal hardly at all and at this point I may just get rid of it if this is what happens. I dont even know what jibjab is but after reading reviews on here it seems they take money from people.

JibJab Review: Decent Videos, Limited Humor, and Annual Subscription
Yo,
So I signed up for JibJab, hoping to make a dope video with my homies for a special occasion. The video was pretty funny, but overall, I wasn't super stoked on the experience.
I only wanted to make a couple videos, but I had to get the whole year subscription, which I'm not sure is worth it for me.
The quality of the videos is pretty decent, but it's not consistent across all the videos. And there's not a ton of variety, so it gets repetitive after a while. Plus, some of the humor is only gonna land with certain groups of people, so the subscription feels kinda limited.
Here's some suggestions for how to make it better:
1. Offer monthly subscriptions or let people buy individual videos.
2. Come up with more styles and ideas that will appeal to different groups of people.
3. Raise the bar for the quality of the videos.
4. Yo, that annual election video you guys did was fire! What happened? We need more of that kind of social satire in our lives.
Thanks and peace out.

JibJab Review: Automatic Renewals and Poor Customer Service
I signed up for JibJab back in February of 2012. At first, I thought it was a pretty cool site where I could create some fun cards for my friends and family. However, after using the site for just a couple of cards, I was suddenly unable to access my account anymore. I searched high and low for a telephone number to help me out, but to no avail. Needless to say, I was pretty frustrated.
To make matters worse, I later discovered that there was a yearly fee that automatically charged me again in February of 2013. I must have missed seeing the fee on my statement, because I never used the service in 2013. But then, to my surprise, there was another fee of $12 on my February 14, 2014 statement! I tried to cancel by using their "submit a request" feature, but I never received a response. I also tried to access my account, but once again, no luck. I even asked for a new password, but still no response.
Finally, I got their telephone number from the Better Business Bureau and called directly to cancel. Their number is ***971 in California. They said they would reverse the 2014 charge and send me a confirmation. While I appreciate their willingness to help, I can't help but feel like I was Jabbed by JibJab.
In my opinion, automatic renewals should not be allowed without some correspondence with the customer that shows the charge is about to be made or shows receipt shortly following charge with ability to cancel within so many days. It's just not fair to charge someone without giving them a chance to cancel or opt out. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience with JibJab and I'm not sure I'll be using their service again in the future.
Jib Jab Review: Fun but Overpriced for Yearly Subscription
So, I was scrolling through the internet and I saw an ad for Jib Jab. I thought it was pretty cool, so I decided to make my own Jib Jab. I already knew that I would have to pay for it at the end, but I didn't mind. The website informed me that it would only be about $1, which I thought was a pretty good deal.
A few days later, I checked my card account because it's Christmastime and I needed to see how much money I had to spend on gifts. To my surprise, I saw a $20 charge from Jib Jab. I was a bit upset at first and was going to call customer service to complain about it. But then, I decided to log in to my account and see what was going on.
It turns out that Jib Jab charged me $20 for the whole year. I was a bit confused because I didn't think anyone would want to Jib Jab for the whole year. But, I didn't want to go through the hassle of customer service, so I just left it alone. I unenrolled in autopay, so I won't be renewing my Jib Jab next year. I hope that $20 was worth it for them because it's not worth having their hands in my pocket!
One thing that I didn't like about Jib Jab is that you have to pay to download or save your Jib Jab. You can only "share" it, which means that it links you back to the Jib Jab website. So, you can't even watch it on Facebook like you can with YouTube videos. It's a bit of a bummer, but I still had fun making my Jib Jab.
Overall, Jib Jab is a pretty cool website, but I don't think it's worth the $20 charge for a whole year. If you're looking for a fun way to send holiday greetings or birthday wishes, then Jib Jab might be worth checking out. Just be aware that you'll have to pay to download or save your Jib Jab.
Jib Jab Review: Poor Customer Service, Offensive Cards, and Lack of Updates
Jib Jab, they don't seem to care about us members and the issues we face. It's like they just want our money and then they're gone. I've been a member for a long time now and I was hoping that things would get better, but they haven't and it doesn't seem like they're listening to us. I've tried reaching out to them several times with questions, but I've never received a response.
The selection of cards is also pretty bad. Some of them are really offensive and crude. I understand that they're trying to appeal to everyone, but some of the sections are just completely unbalanced. And for those of us who have been members for a while, there's just not enough new material. The updates are slow and not very good.
As I'm writing this, I'm realizing that maybe it's time for me to move on. Why am I still wasting my time with Jib Jab when there are so many other sites out there that offer similar services? Sure, they might not be exactly the same, but they're more professional and they actually listen to their customers. I've been a member of one of these other sites for years and they're always refreshing their product and addressing any issues that come up.
So, Jib Jab, you really need to step up your game. It's a bad job on your part. If you want to keep your customers, you need to start listening to them and providing better content. Otherwise, you're just going to keep losing members like me.
JibJab Review: Fun but Pricey for Sharing Videos
I gotta say, I checked out JibJab and I gotta admit, I liked it. I went ahead and joined up, no biggie. But then, I had to pay an extra $1.99 for a download. I mean, it's not a huge deal, but I was already impulsive to join, so an extra $2 bucks wasn't a big deal.
But here's the thing, everybody that saw the video I made with JibJab loved it. But when they wanted a copy for themselves, like family and friends, they had to pay $4.99 for just one. That's when you get the WTF smirk grows on people's faces.
They're asking me why do they have to pay? Some might say it seems like a money-making scam. Others might now have a not-so-great impression of JibJab. Or, their initial "loved it" now turns to "it was cool... whatever it is, I, no you, look like the butt." Also, not one person knew what JibJab was, so it's not as popular as you might like, despite the revenue you may bring in.
Hey, it's your business, do what you want. However, if you want it to be truly popular and everywhere, then you make it easy for everyone to have it. You gain the masses first, before high profits. Ask FB, YouTube, Microsoft, etc... how they got their traffic.
Only one thing comes to mind of this scenario... diminishing return. My worthless 2 cents.
Thanks again.

Jib Jab Review: Great Concept, But Execution Needs Work
I gotta say, I'm a big fan of the whole jib jab thing. It's a pretty cool idea, but I gotta be real with you guys, I ran into some problems when I tried to use it. I'm not just complaining for the sake of it, I just want to give some feedback so that maybe jib jab can improve.
First off, I made this video on my computer and posted it to my friend's Facebook wall. But then jib jab told her she couldn't watch it on her phone. Like, what's up with that? And the email link option was just a pain in the butt.
So then I decided to pay for a different video so I could download it and post it directly to her wall. But after I paid my $2.00, the file quality was super low and pixelated. I was like, "Eh, whatever, it's not a big deal."
But then when I tried to upload the video to my friend's Facebook wall, it wouldn't accept the format (mpeg). So I had to use some online video converter thing to change it to wmv. Like, come on, man.
And then, to top it all off, Facebook removed my video because the music was copyrighted. I know that's not jib jab's fault, but it was still pretty annoying.
All these issues left me feeling pretty frustrated with jib jab. I mean, it's a great concept, but the execution could use some work.
JibJab Review: Fun Personalized Video Cards, but Needs More Variety
I've been using JibJab for like two years now and I've sent like a dozen cards, all for birthdays.
Most of the cards I've sent have been personalized video cards with both action and music, so the face of the person I'm sending it to and often their family members' faces are on the figures in the video. Some of these cards have been a lot of fun for both me and the person I'm sending it to, as well as others in their family.
Plus, I was spending like $4-5 per card when I was buying them from stores, so JibJab has saved me some cash.
I gave it 3 stars because 1) JibJab hasn't made enough new cards; 2) Too many of the new cards it has made are too similar to the ones they already have.
So, I have to look through a lot more JibJab cards to find one that's suitable to send. I don't want to send someone a birthday card that's too similar to the one they got from me last year or the year before.
Overall, JibJab has made it possible for me to send original and fun cards for the past 2-3 years. I've gotten my money's worth. But JibJab needs to work harder to keep making new cards of different kinds.
JibJab Review: Frustrating Experience Sending Birthday Card
I just wanted to send a birthday card to my niece, but it turned out to be a real hassle. First, I had to make sure I was still a member of the site, which took some time to figure out. Then, when I made the card, my niece's face wasn't even in it! I thought maybe I had to subscribe or become a member, but I couldn't remember what happened next. Every time I tried to do something, I lost my progress and had to start all over again. It was so frustrating!
Finally, I noticed that I had a few pictures to the right of the one I was working on, and I realized that I was supposed to use those instead of starting from scratch each time. But then I had to try to fit my message into 140 characters, which was really difficult for me. I must have tried at least 10 times to get it right, but I kept getting an error message even when I counted the characters and thought I was under the limit.
Eventually, I managed to send the card, but I never heard back from my niece to know if she got it or not. And now, as I'm trying to write this review, I'm struggling with the CAPTCHA below because the letters are all blurry and run together. I'm sure I'll have to try at least 10 times to get it right! Overall, I think JibJab has some good ideas, but the execution could use some work. It's just too frustrating to use sometimes.
Professional Artwork and Animation, but Membership Required: A Review of a Flash Animation Site
I remember these dudes from like ten years ago, but I ain't been back to the site since then. I didn't even know sites like this still existed in the age of Web 2.0, and let's be real, sending e-cards and Flash animations is so Web One. I reckon the craze started around 1997 or something like that.
If you're into sending this kinda stuff, you probably won't find anything better than this site. The artwork and animation is top-notch and professional. But you gotta be a member to get the good stuff, and they don't tell you how much that'll cost until after you give 'em all your personal info.
I can see how bored office workers might send this stuff to each other just to pass the time, and kids under 10 will definitely get a kick out of it. But I guess I just have a weird sense of humor, 'cause I didn't find anything I'd wanna send to anyone. The only new thing I noticed is that you can put your friends' and family's faces into the animations. I bet anyone who didn't know that was possible would be super impressed.
I gotta say, I don't agree with all the hype from other reviewers. This site is alright, but it ain't blowing my mind or anything.
JibJab Review: Cute and Funny, but a Waste of Time and Money
So, I was trying to send a birthday card to my buddy and I thought I'd check out JibJab. I'm not a total noob when it comes to computers, but I gotta say, it took me a good half hour to figure out which cards were free and which ones weren't. They say you can be a free member, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. Eventually, I found a card I really liked, but it required a subscription. I was hesitant at first because they wanted me to pay for a whole year in advance with auto-renewal. That's a big commitment, you know? But I ended up caving and paying the $1.50 a month. I told myself I could always cancel before it renewed.
Well, long story short, my friend never got the card. I had to resend it, but then she couldn't even open it because it kept saying her Flash wasn't updated (which it totally was). I sent another card and the same thing happened. It was a total waste of time and money. We probably spent three hours trying to get these stupid cards to work.
I think JibJab would be better off if they gave people the option to pay for individual cards. I would have been more willing to do that. And they really need to make sure their product is actually viewable. It's cute and funny and all, but what's the point if no one can see it? I don't think I'll be using JibJab again anytime soon.
Money taken out my account when it was cancelled in 2020
