Jumpstart.com is a learning game and seller to schools, I signed my daughter up for a 1 month trial for $4.99, being wary I could not find a cancel button so I contacted them 20 days later to see if I needed to cancel or it just expired. No response so I emailed them again. Nothing and then a $7.99 fee per month for 2 months. Again I called the 800 number and threatened to turn them in to the FTC, Consumer Affairs and the BBB and Chamber where they are located and voila a refund. Be wary of these scams. This preys on children and schools.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Same here. Only they billed me for a yearly subscription when i only signed up for a month. I never got a response from calls or emails. This year it happened again ($74.99) so instead of me trying to reach them my bank is handling it. Beware if you're thinking of signing up- there is NO customer service, and they will try to rip you off!
Yes - this happened to me twice. The first time, someone did contact me back and I was able to cancel...the second time, after my child simply clicked on the icon and went back on the site, the bill started appearing on my credit card again. When I finally got in touch with someone -- "CHARLES" indicated that there is no data being stored, therefore my 9 year old would have had to input all info, plus code on front...OK -- my 9 year old is capable of alot -- but not this. Come on people. Then he indicated that it was used for 20 minutes on the first 2 days and that was it. I then asked for a credit of 2 months, splitting the difference, with them. he said it was not under their terms of agreement. I am going back 4 months through American Express now -- because this is a joke. In addition, AMerican Express can put a block on all charges by this business.
I noticed an ongoing charge of $7.99 on my account and called to cancel. CHARLES was very rude and unwilling to listen. He consistently tried speaking over me and advised that I simply listen or he would hand up on me, which he did. I called back and asked for a supervisor and he claimed he does not have one available through the phone and gave me "caleb.stclair@jumpstart.com" and again hung up. I called back again trying to gain clarification on how they got my card information and her claimed my child must have signed up for it. CHARLES and this company are fraudulent at best and disgustingly RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. Will contact my bank and the regional police district for fraud activities.
I was able to get full refund after contacting the BBB and calling back to CHARLES who spoke with his supervisory staff.
Ive had this problem aswell, and yes spoke to "charles" but i noticed when he was willing to offer me advice on the problem and realized, we had signed up under an old email address i had forgotten. Altho i understand the company may have some draconian policy, and he was unable to provide me with a full refund, we were able to reach a compromise. I dont blame "Charles" for his company policy, but i noticed that speaking to him politely, he offered me some suggestions as well as got me a partial refund. more flies with honey than vinegar fokes...but as for the company...dont ever visit this site if u can help it without reading the fine print...
I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROGRAM. MY LAWYER SAID IF I DON'T HEAR FROM YOU WITHIN A WEEK HE WILL START PROCEDDINGS AGAINST THIS PROGAM.
I once signed up for a paid subscription of *school of dragons* for my niece but after a while, it refused to let her in. I tried to change passwords, I tried to find a customer service rep, I tried to email, nothing. So I emailed their customer service to cancel it, that was WELL over a year ago and neither she, nor I, remember the main name that was used or the email address that was used for that account anymore. But apparently, they NEVER cancelled it, the email was ignored. My bank is now handling it. I'm getting $65.00 in overdraft fees for this and I have to cancel my card and file a dispute. In the mean time, the overdraft fees are piling up all because of their charges. These guys need to be sued, big time.
I will do it because there big time
I will it as fast as i can
I have tried for the past three months to cancel my membership to Jump Start. The company is continuing to deduct $24.99 from my credit card account and I want it stopped. What can I do to get it off my account?
