I attended Kaplan University in 2014. I stayed for 6 months in the Law field for paralegal studies. The advisor told me the school was a credited school and I could transfer etc. About 6 months later I found out that it was not a credited and they were going through "something". Come to find out that was a lawsuit for being a "for profit" school and scamming many students. I was told this school was going to be great for me, I was going to learn so much information etc. This turned out to not be so. Of course, I stopped attending. My income tax was garnished in 2018 due to this. Which they should not have been. Now on my credit report it shows that I owe a balance of 3,760 and a balance of 7,221. This is not possible the original amount that was fraudulent anyways was in the 6k mark and was completely taken from my taxes. How is this okay ? How is this okay to be on my credit report all of a sudden showing up in [protected]. It took me a while to catch on, but thank goodness I did. There are laws in place to help this fact but hopefully this can get resolved. Like I said I attended in 2014 its almost 10 years later at this date now. Very close.
Desired outcome: I would please like a refund. I also would like this off my report promptly. Nelnet is a 3rd party, not the original loan company. Also, I would like to know why my name was signed on a 06 app. Thank you
