I ain't happy with your dealership's service at all
I ain't happy with your dealership's service at all. My truck has been in your shop for over a month now, and y'all can't seem to fix it. It's only 3 years old, with just 13k miles on it, but you can't find the dang power steering parts anywhere! What's the deal with that? Don't give me that "backorder" nonsense, I wanna know the real reason.
On April 22, 2022, I went to Landers McLarty Chevrolet to get my Brake System Control Module (BSCM) fixed on my 2019 Chevy Silverado
On April 22, 2022, I went to Landers McLarty Chevrolet to get my Brake System Control Module (BSCM) fixed on my 2019 Chevy Silverado. I ended up paying $838.50 for new Brake Pads and Rotor service, even though the invoice clearly said that the BCSM was fixed with updated software and the brakes were inspected and didn't need to be replaced. I didn't notice this on the invoice until I got home. The service repair guy told me I needed new brakes, so I trusted him. But the invoice said the brakes didn't need to be replaced. I feel like I got tricked into paying $838.50 for something I didn't need.
I bought a new 2021 Tahoe Z71 in March
I bought a new 2021 Tahoe Z71 in March . My car now has 26k miles and it's at the Chevrolet services in *** location. It's been there for over 35 days and nobody knows when it will be ready. This is the second time I've taken my car for repairs for the same issue, it keeps having transmission or engine problems. I don't have a car to drive and I'm still making payments on it. The manager in Huntsville suggested trading it in for a new car, but that doesn't help me, it just puts me in more debt. I called GM motors customer service and they gave me a case number, but I still haven't received a call or email. I called *** and the person handling my case still doesn't answer my calls. I left a voicemail but got no response. I'm really disappointed, I have to rely on others for rides and borrow cars just to take my kids to school every day.
This is the worst experience I ever had with a service department
This is the worst experience I ever had with a service department. My vehicle been with the collision department for over 3 months and still not ready. Communication is terrible. I call every week for the past 60 days and they keep saying it will be ready next week, but it never is. My insurance sent a check for the repairs months ago, but they show no urgency to fix my car. The staff, especially in my case, don't try to speed up the process, just make excuses. I contacted management twice, but they never called back. This is really bad service. I can't believe the owner would be happy with this. I know this isn't the first time this happened, I heard many horror stories. So why are there so many 5-star reviews?

Drive shaft broke on 2015 Chevy Camaro
Drive shaft broke on 2015 Chevy Camaro. Vin #2G1F01E31FXXXXXXX. They replaced the drive shaft but it have a bad vibration. They test drove the car and said they was going to replace it, but they never did. Drive train was still under warranty. I have called them about five times but I don't have the dates.
On Jan 9th, I bought a car from Landers McLarty Chevrolet in Huntsville, AL
On Jan 9th, I bought a car from Landers McLarty Chevrolet in Huntsville, AL. During the sales process, they made claims about work being done on the vehicle. But when I checked with them later, there was no record of it being done. I asked the dealership for proof, but they refused. Also, during the financing part, I got many inquiries on my report when only one was approved and necessary. They should contact the right agencies to fix their mistake.
The dealer ain't helpin' with the problems I got on my two 2018 *** Volts
The dealer ain't helpin' with the problems I got on my two 2018 *** Volts. Both of 'em got issues covered by the voltec warranty, but the dealer won't fix 'em. First off, my Volt been sittin' useless for more than six months 'cause of some power module problem that's supposed to be covered. And then, my other Volt got this "shift to park" problem that's real common, but the dealer says it ain't covered by the Voltec warranty. I was thinkin' 'bout fixin' it myself, 'cause I found this GM bulletin 19-NA-206 that says I need a new microswitch and a high voltage surge jumper. But when I read that bulletin, it says the failure repair should be covered by the Voltec warranty.

About a month ago, I had my 2008 Chevy Trailblazer towed to Landers McLarty
About a month ago, I had my 2008 Chevy Trailblazer towed to Landers McLarty. I paid $125.00 for a diagnosis of the problem. The Service Consultant quoted me $2,500 for the repairs. After about a week, I called and he said he was waiting for an alternator. A couple of days later, he called again and said they couldn't turn off the car, so it would cost an additional $300. Now the total is $2,800. I told him that someone else was paying for this. Last week, he called and said he needed another $800, making the total $3,600. I think I'm being charged too much for a car problem that initially cost me $125.00 for the diagnosis.
There was some info kept secret
There was some info kept secret. I went to Landers Mclarty in 2018 to buy an SUV, 'cause they're a big dealership that's 'sposed to do a full check of their cars before sellin' 'em again. When we did our first oil change as scheduled, we found out it was usin' way too much oil and they told us to bring it back every 2,000 miles to keep an eye on it. I got a letter sayin' they'd reimburse us if we had any problems and had to spend money 'cause of this issue. Then I found out there was a lawsuit 'bout the Equinox's oil consumption and this problem's been known since 2010. I'm mad 'cause they knew 'bout this problem and still sold me this car. They should've told me 'bout it. I wasted my time and money and now I gotta worry 'bout the engine gettin' messed up or lockin' up. If I knew 'bout this problem, I would've bought somethin' new. Landers Mclarty needs to fix this situation. This whole thing's stressin' me out.
Service Department Failure and unscrupulous business practices
Service Department Failure and unscrupulous business practices. I took my 2019 Chevy Traverse in for 2nd oil change and tire rotation. This is a low use, low mileage vehicle my wife drives. Yesterday, she came home and a wheel lug nut fell off in the driveway! I went and checked, and NONE of the wheels lug nuts were tight or torqued! They were all off by well over 50 ft. lbs. of torque. I had to jack up and re-torque ALL of the lug nuts. I then decided to check the oil...yep, it's a quart low too! She drove 1500 miles like this! Unacceptable! Twice on previous oil changes on my truck I caught them adding some oil additive to my bill, which I never asked for. An additional $20 on the bill each time. I have had to call and have those charges removed. Caught them the last time and they didn't charge me for the oil change. I had to inform my wife to make sure it wasn't on this bill either. These are dangerous, poor and deceptive business practices and it needs to be captured. I want my bill refunded for MY time and labor in MY garage! $75.61 Bill invoice number is ***, serviced 22 Nov 21. Mileage is only 12,190.
I bought a new car in September 2022
I bought a new car in September 2022. I had problems with my Apple car play, so my mom took it to the service department. The employee was rude to her, so she left. I then took the car to another dealership, and they tried to fix the radio. But now I'm having issues with the radio again. I called Landers McLarty, and the person I spoke to explained (rudely) that they couldn't do much to help me. I work in Decatur and need either a ride or a loaner. He said he couldn't assist me with that. So I suggested taking a day off to go, but he said it wouldn't work because the car needed to be acting up when I brought it in. That means I'd have to wait until my car messed up, call in sick, and sit at the dealership. That's ridiculous. I have multiple videos showing what's wrong with my car, but he said they wouldn't help. He also told me that many people have had the same complaint about Apple car play. But I'm stuck trying to find a dealership that can accommodate my work schedule because the dealership where I BOUGHT the car is refusing to help me.
I bought a used truck from Landers McLarty Chevrolet and they said all the problems were fixed, but the next day the transmission started
I bought a used truck from Landers McLarty Chevrolet and they said all the problems were fixed, but the next day the transmission started slipping. The two salesmen, Matt and Glenn, were really helpful and did a good job. I bought the truck on December 1, but couldn't pick it up until the next day because some repairs weren't finished yet. It wasn't a big deal for me. However, on December 3rd, the transmission started slipping in and out of overdrive. I talked to Matt and Glenn about it, and Glenn spoke to his manager. The manager said that all the repairs were done and there were no issues with the truck when it was sold. They agreed to look at the transmission, but I would have to pay for the repairs. I had only driven the truck for 100 miles and the transmission was already slipping. On December 5th, I took it to my local mechanic who said that the truck needs a new transmission. So now I have a truck that I've had for less than a week and I have to pay for a new transmission, with no help from Landers McLarty Chevrolet. The sales manager had a list of repairs that needed to be done on the truck, but they weren't willing to fix them at the price they sold it to me for. So I told him I didn't want it and was leaving. A few minutes later, he came back and said they would fix everything on the list, but he didn't show me the list. So, I don't know if the transmission issue was on the list and they just didn't fix it.
First visit for Transmission issues in a 2018 ZL1 with 15k miles June: The transmission was slipping bad, technician rode with me to confirm
First visit for Transmission issues in a 2018 ZL1 with 15k miles June: The transmission was slipping bad, technician rode with me to confirm trans slipping. Diagnosed as bad control valve body, repair took 18 days. The car drove normal for approximately a month and a half (I don't drive much) 500 miles or so. Started slipping again in different gears. This is the 10-speed automatic.
Aug 29th: I dropped off at Landers *** in HSV at approximately 8:30 am. Service advisor came out and took various rigorous notes, told me it would take 2 weeks for my car to get looked at. Assigned my case to *** in service.
Sep 9th: *** from service calls me from the dealership phone line, and confirms to me that *** service technician verified the issue with your transmission, and you will be getting a full transmission rebuild. So I will be getting started on that for you and I will call you back as soon as I have more information.
October 10th: Call to dealership placed, rang thru 5 times at service back to front desk. Finally a man in service answered who I told about my car. He claimed ONLY *** would know anything about my car. I left my number for a call back.
October 17th: *** calls and states that my vehicle is about ready to be torn down and looked at. This had me utterly confused as 5 weeks prior *** was telling me that I was to be getting a full rebuilt Trans. What has been going on for the past 5 weeks? Why is my car just now being looked at, supposedly again after 7 weeks? Keep in mind all of the communication I have received throughout the entire process has been documented here. No loaner vehicle offered either visit. No communication. Actual deceit and lies about what's been going on with my $70,000 vehicle for almost 2 months? What a shame. Stay away from this service department at all costs.
On Jan 17, 2022, I bought a 2016 Infiniti QX60 from Landers McLarty Chevrolet
On Jan 17, 2022, I bought a 2016 Infiniti QX60 from Landers McLarty Chevrolet. The sales rep, Nichole M., and I took the car for a test drive. I heard a bumpy noise every time I turned the steering wheel. When I mentioned my concern to Nichole M., she told me to "turn the radio up" (to drown the noise out), while turning it up herself. Two days after the purchase, I went back to the dealership to complain about the noise again. Neither Nichole nor the manager I spoke with cared to address the steering issue. They told me to wait 30 days for the warranty I bought to become active and for the repairs. I knew that the vehicle was supposed to be repaired without me having to pay anything if they were credible and honest! The SUV was taken back within 24 hours of the purchase date. I spoke with the service manager who told me that I could bring the vehicle in on April 15th, 2022, and they'd have the service tech ride with me. Upon arriving, the manager and service tech decided again not to ride with me but told me to take it to the Infinity dealership, which could diagnose and resolve the issue under warranty. After taking the vehicle to Infinity on April 16, they advised, "Hello from Smith INFINITI or Huntsville, We heard the noise and scanned for codes. I think there may be multiple problems with your vehicle. It is all-wheel drive, and I am pretty sure your coupler is failing, but there are some transmission codes stored as well. I will need my master tech to look at it." I was intentionally sold a lemon! I'm paying over $600+ per month for this vehicle, which was NOT in condition to be sold! I've lost all confidence in Landers McLarty and will tell everyone about this devastating experience! The honest way to resolve this issue would be to fix the defects as they should have when it was initially brought to their attention. Never again will I be fooled by a company that undermines their customers!
I bought a 2022 Frontier from Landers McLarty Nissan on 09/21 and it had a messed up door
I bought a 2022 Frontier from Landers McLarty Nissan on 09/21 and it had a messed up door. There were like 7-8 dents on it that stuck out. It was pretty clear that it was a factory mistake and I told the dealership about it less than a day after I got it. The Nissan place sent my new truck to Landers McLarty Chevrolet to fix the "bodywork". They sanded and painted the door but didn't get rid of all the dents. I said no thanks and then Landers McLarty Chevrolet had the smart idea to just replace the door skin instead of the whole door. The first fix wasn't written down and they never said it was a warranty thing. It was like a secret job or something... They told me the door skin replacement was covered by the warranty. It took another 2 weeks to replace the skin. Landers McLarty Chevrolet had my new Frontier in their shop for 3 out of the first 6 weeks I had the truck. Both times they did a crappy job that you wouldn't expect from a fancy dealership body shop. Both times they just taped and painted around a piece of vinyl instead of replacing it. And that left a raised lip of paint each time they painted it. The paint didn't match because they put on too many coats that they didn't take off. They broke my weather stripping clip and then used hot glue to fix it. But somehow both LMN and LMC bodyshop forgot to tell me that. Shake my head. I only found out about it 3 days after I brought it home. The door skin was crooked and the weather stripping didn't even seal when the door was closed. I took the truck to Madison Collision and they wouldn't touch it unless they replaced the whole door. It would have cost me $3500, 3 weeks in the shop, and a rental car just to make it look like a new truck again. I will never ever recommend buying a vehicle from any Lander's McLarty dealership because of my experience with LMN and LMC collision. I won't get back the money I lost when I sold the truck after 3 and a half years, but I will also never stop telling other people thinking about buying a car about what happened to me.
I bought a trail blazer from ***
I bought a trail blazer from ***. When I bought it, the car needed to be cleaned, so they asked me to come back on Sunday to pick it up. I went on Sunday and was told that *** had a family thing to attend to, so another salesman helped me get the car. I don't remember his name. He gave me a key and I asked for the manual and the second key. He said he would check with ***. Later, *** contacted me and said he left it with the receptionist. Then he said he put it in the glove compartment with the manual and trunk netting. The manual and netting were there, but no key. I told *** about it and he said he would check with the girls. Still no key. Since then, I've been texting and calling about getting the second key. *** is just making excuses now. He keeps saying he doesn't have the key. Obviously, there were 2 keys before or he wouldn't be looking for it. He's looking for one that can be programmed or someone who can program it, etc. Now he takes days to reply to my texts and doesn't answer my calls at all. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect 2 keys when you buy a car. Most customers would. I'll be paying for this car for a long time and I think having 2 keys is absolutely necessary. Honestly, I wouldn't have bought this car or any car without 2 keys. As I told ***, I can't just go to *** and buy one. And even if I could, I shouldn't have to. Both *** and the General Manager, *** are not responding to me anymore. I have emails and texts that show there was a second key when I bought the car. I can get help to make copies if needed.
