Excellent Service!
Excellent Service! Kevin Inwright and his team were wonderful to work with. I would recommend Liberty Financial for your banking needs. They were super helpful and made the process easy peasy. The staff was friendly and always had a smile on their face. I felt like they really cared about me and my financial goals. The website was a bit confusing at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing. The online banking features were convenient and user-friendly. I was able to easily transfer funds and pay my bills without any hassle. The interest rates were competitive and I felt like I was getting a good deal. Overall, I had a great experience with Liberty Financial and would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of a reliable and trustworthy bank.
Kevin *** did a great job helping us refinance our mortgage
Kevin *** did a great job helping us refinance our mortgage. Everything he told us was just like he promised at closing. It was fast, efficient, and we got a really good rate. Kevin was nice, friendly, and someone we could trust. I would definitely recommend Kevin and Liberty Financial.
I've been banking with Liberty Federal Credit Union since 2015
I've been banking with Liberty Federal Credit Union since 2015. They're customer service is always polite, informative, and helpful. They have prevented fraud and theft on my account multiple times now and always print me a card within a day or two with no hassle. I easily obtained a car loan and credit card through them, am in good standing and have been referring people to them since the beginning. I cannot imagine any of the things people have accused them of in other reviews having actually happened. I have never had any issues with this bank. None whatsoever. They cannot be said for a handful of other banking establishments around here.
This is the worst financial institution I've ever dealt with
This is the worst financial institution I've ever dealt with. They give you overdraft fees even when you haven't overdrafted (account in the positive, no pending transactions). They don't take responsibility for their mistakes. After being with them for about 2 years, I lost my job and my account went negative. I got a new job and was waiting for my check to come in to fix the negative balance, but they froze my husband's personal checking account because of my overdrawn account. We couldn't buy necessities or pay bills. I chatted with customer service and the agent responded with "bana pudding" and disconnected. Gotta admit, that was pretty funny. I called member services and the agent basically said "tough luck" and hung up. It wasn't until my husband scolded them that the issue got resolved. We're waiting for my paycheck to hit the account and then we're withdrawing all our money and switching banks. Avoid this bank at all costs, they're breaking so many laws and acting all cocky about it. They hold your money hostage and hang up on you. The only good thing about this bank is the mints in the lobby.
After signing papers for a refinance, they went and changed everything without telling me
After signing papers for a refinance, they went and changed everything without telling me. The mortgage and title are only in my husband's name, which is fine, but the note I signed still had my name on it. So now I'm stuck with the debt even though I don't own the property or have any security. The mortgage loan people and my husband thought everything was fine, but it turns out they were wrong. After my divorce, my ex-husband stopped paying and told them he wouldn't pay anymore. Then they called me and said I had to pay because I was on the mortgage. They should have explained the difference between the mortgage and the note and not kept me in the dark. It took three years for the truth to come out. They told me I didn't sign the mortgage because I didn't need to since I didn't own the property before the refinance. But that's not true because I did want ownership rights this time. The credit union and their lawyer keep lying and saying I didn't sign the mortgage, even though I have a copy with my name on it. Their copy is all blank. It looks like they covered up my signature with an index card. I have a letter from the loan officer that talks about the loan for both of us and the application to add me to the title. I also have a copy of the credit application we both signed. My credit report doesn't show any payments until 2013, even though the account opened in 2009. It's just a coincidence that my ex-husband stopped paying in 2013. This whole thing has been a disaster from day one and now I'm facing foreclosure and a huge judgment against me. If you want a mortgage where they switch things up on you and make you pay for something you didn't agree to, then I recommend this place. It would be funny if it didn't ruin my life. Their lawyer even admitted in a letter that I didn't sign the note but did sign the mortgage. He got confused, which is ironic because that's why he was writing the letter in the first place. They could have talked to us and fixed whatever the problem was, but instead they chose to lie and make me responsible for a loan I didn't qualify for. It's really unfortunate for everyone involved because now they're being investigated for breaking the rules.

I was lookin online bout interest rates to buy a car and the website said it wouldn't do a credit check and they did. I didn't give my social security number. They not only ran a credit check but they did it twice.
My account has been continuously overdrawn
My account has been continuously overdrawn. And the amount I have paid in fees is downright ridiculous. I can't get back on track with the amount of money they have taken from me. I am about ready to close this account and go somewhere else. 20 transactions overdrawn in less than a month. That's not counting the number of times that it happened last month or the month before.
I tried to get a refinance from Liberty Federal Credit Union
I tried to get a refinance from Liberty Federal Credit Union. I started the process in May , and the employee, ***, was really difficult to deal with. From August to October , he kept saying we were going to close soon, but it never happened. He even told me not to pay my current house payment! As a result, I had to pay late fees of $93.00 each month because I had to pay after the due date. I think they should at least refund that money. This company really messed me around, and I definitely don't recommend them.

I got a new refinance loan with this company and they keep takin money from me for insurance I don't need
I got a new refinance loan with this company and they keep takin money from me for insurance I don't need. I've proved it so many times but they don't listen. It's been goin on for like three months now. I've called and emailed them but they keep sayin they'll change it and give me a refund but they never do. They just keep takin my money. I can't find anyone to actually help me fix this problem. It's a lot of money and it keeps happenin. I've tried everythin I can think of for three months to fix it. I'm in a different state so I haven't gone to the credit union in person yet.
This company did a hard inquiry on my credit report without my permission and I want it removed
This company did a hard inquiry on my credit report without my permission and I want it removed. I filled out a form in my credit karma app, thinking it was a practice page to see if I could qualify for auto refinancing. But, I was surprised a few weeks later when I started receiving letters from different companies about an application I supposedly made for auto loan refinancing. I want to emphasize that I never applied for any loans through Next Gen. I was just curious and thought it was a practice form to see if I could qualify. I only wanted to see the rates so I could compare them to my current APR and get an idea of how much progress I've made in paying back my auto loan. I really want this inquiry removed from my credit report. Thank you.
About a year ago, I signed a 5-year Auto Loan from ETFCU (Now Liberty FCU)
About a year ago, I signed a 5-year Auto Loan from ETFCU (Now Liberty FCU). After getting the check, I asked for online access but was told I can't do it yet and gotta come back later. On Oct 18 2022, I visit the branch again to try to set up the app, and I find out that I've been getting charged a monthly fee for loan insurance, where they take it out of my payment instead of applying the money to the principle. I never asked for this and it wasn't shown to me. My loan officer didn't mention/explain this at all. I didn't even know this was an option. I'm upset that they signed me up for this without consent, or at least without an explanation. To make things worse, their app only shows 6 months of history, so I can't see how much they took from me for this useless insurance, but I estimate about $500. I want this unrequested "service" cancelled and a refund for the previous charges.
I got charged 4 courtesy pays fee even though only one debit charge brought my account into a negative balance
I got charged 4 courtesy pays fee even though only one debit charge brought my account into a negative balance. Three of the charges were made on or before 7/1. The charges total $265.36 and my available balance before these transactions was $289.62. That should have left me with a positive balance at the end of 7/3 of 24.26 yet I got charged a $27.00 fee for each of these 3 transactions totaling $81 which caused my account to have a neg balance of -56.74. On 7/4 we did use the account to purchase fireworks $139.59. Even if we weren't charged the $81 in fees for the 3 transactions made before 7/1 this one did bring our account neg so I am not disputing the $27.00 courtesy pay fee for the purchase made on 7/4. HOWEVER I am disputing the 3 fees totaling $81.00. My account was not neg for the first 3 transactions. Just because 1 transaction brought my acct neg doesn't mean you can charge a fee for all the transactions processed that day.
After our car was totalled, our gap insurance didn't cover the final part of our loan
After our car was totalled, our gap insurance didn't cover the final part of our loan. We never missed a payment, stayed in touch with the creditors, and thought our account was fine. I was pregnant then and explained our situation to them. They agreed to waive the remaining interest of $444. I quickly made the last payment and asked for some proof, but they NEVER sent it to me. I saw that the $444 was still there, so I immediately contacted the company. They said they would fix it in a few days, but they didn't. Three months later, they reported our account as derogatory and eventually wrote it off as a lost cause. My husband's credit got a big hit, and a small mistake was made that still shows we didn't pay, instead of being cleared properly. His credit is completely ruined now. We can't buy a house, and renting will be tough. It'll take years to recover from this.
I got a bridge loan from Liberty Federal Credit Union last year to move from Ky to Ohio for a new job
I got a bridge loan from Liberty Federal Credit Union last year to move from Ky to Ohio for a new job. The loan officer said I could refinance later at no charge. He kept his promise. But, I started the refinancing process in May and it's now Oct. I don't have a problem with the loan officer. My problem is that it feels like the company is trying to make me give up on refinancing. I had to electronically sign papers 9 times. 8 times since 08/06. I'm paying down the loan by $70k in cash from selling my house in Ky. My wife doesn't work anymore, but I have enough in 401k and savings to pay for this house 3 times over. My credit score is about 830. I don't understand why underwriting is taking so long to review my case. Maybe I'm not a priority because they make more money in interest right now than they would if they went ahead with the refinancing. I'm scared that if I miss an email to sign again (only 24hrs to do it), they'll let my paperwork expire and I'll have to start this whole mess over. I know Covid has made things hard for everyone, but I'm pretty sure they closed loans that started after my refinance application.
We have a loan with the "Evansville credit union
We have a loan with the "Evansville credit union. I have made several attempts to address the lien. I have spoken with several customer service representatives who have REFUSED several times to let me speak with a supervisor and has laughed on the call while expressing frustration with the lack of support and the willful abuse of getting any answers. I have simply wanted to get information regarding my loan and the loan details. It has been a tremendous difficult time with speaking with the entry level and when requested to speak with someone else who doesn't yell and belittle the customer i have been told twice i will not speak with anyone else and no supervisor will return the call as they only listen to voicemails and if the matter is. An importance to them. Trying to speak with someone to address the conversation with the company correspondents have been severally detrimental and i have run into dead ends. By the way the representatives have spoken to me on the phone like our the paying customers who have built the company was nothing more than trash after being told numerous times the company did not have a complaint department. I only write this as a last resort to get any help i can as they have been the rudest company i have ever spoken with and with the way the treat people on the phone as they don't matter. If this is truly have the company operates someone needs to be aware and hold them accountable.
I had a car loan
I had a car loan. My insurance company paid off the loan after the car was considered totaled for $22,283.76 on 10/27. The insurance adjuster got a guarantee of $22,283.76 on 10/1 and sent a letter the same day. I don't know why it took until the 27th for the payment to arrive from the insurance company. The regular payment was due on the 12th. I thought the insurance company paid off the loan because I didn't hear anything about it until 1-12-22. Then, a representative called and said I owed $87.58 as of 12/12. The bank couldn't explain what this amount was for. I told the representative that the insurance company paid off the loan in October and I hadn't heard anything about it. That's when they said if I didn't pay, it would go to collections. So, I reluctantly paid over the phone that same day. But then I found out that my credit got worse because of what EFTCU said to the credit bureaus! I've called the bank many times asking for an itemized statement of charges and a statement saying the loan is paid in full. I still haven't received anything in the mail showing that the loan is paid in full. They wouldn't tell me what the remaining charges were for after the insurance sent the check. They wouldn't tell me what they told the credit bureaus. And I haven't received any proof that the loan is paid in full after they threatened collections. The statement below came one day after I paid over the phone on 1-13-22.
