Model 8045e series 8055
I purchased 5 of these fixtures from my local WalMart. I have them in my garage and my basement. 3 of them were glitching on and off in the basement and then 2 days later the 2 garage lights starting doing the same thing. I replaced the bulbs but that was not the problem. The internal ballasts are bad. I purchased them all in less than three and half years ago at WalMart. The manufacturers warranty reads 5 Year Warranty. The items have failed within the manufacturers warranty guidelines.
Desired outcome: I would like 5 new Model 8045E Series 8055 light assemblies replaced under the factory warranty guidelines.
Touch on and off desk lamp
I was given this lamp a few years ago, and did not expect to have it fail in the manner it did - the part that holds the light onto the post that goes to the base broke in two - it just broke in the middle of the part. I can send you pictures if you would like but this lamp has been fantastic and now it doesn't work at all it looks like a "bird with a broken neck" Please advise.
Desired outcome: can it be fixed or do I trash it?
LED Luminaire model 9720E2-BR5
Our paperwork says there is a 5 year warranty on this product. These were purchased in April of 2017. One is fine and the other just quit working. We would like to know if we can get a replacement. We really like these lights, but having one stop working is not good.

Bought the fixture couple of years ago, has been in storage until recently. When I installed the bulbs one of them would not light. Have tried 2 bulbs from another working fixture and still one bulb doesn't light.
Please let me know if there is any recourse.

Lights of America model 8155-whs 4 foot shop lights
Purchased four subject LED luminaires 3 years ago. One LED in one array starting flickering 3-4 months. It was distracting but the product was continued to be useful.
Recently the entire LED array stopped providing light. Given that solid state LEDs are stated to operate for decades, I would like to receive a replacement.
I have been attempting to contact the company to no avail. The warranty is five years. Can someone help?
8140SE2-WH5 LED shop light
I purchased 40 identical Lights of America shop lights through Sam's Club. 3 years later, two of them failed. I've been trying for a month to contact LoA for a warranty claim. I've called them at [protected] and left numerous messages, but haven't yet spoken to a person. I've emailed them several times at [protected]@lightsofamerica.com, but have never gotten a reply. I've spoken with ESP Lighting, a retailer that sells LoA products, and they claim to be getting flooded with calls about similar behavior from LoA.
The company must still be in business and paying their phone bill, because the auto-responder still answers and lists their name. They just refuse to work with their customers.
Shop light 8155-WH5
Bought this shop light about 3 years ago because of the long life of LEDS and that I would not have to replace fluorescent tubes.
About a year ago, a few individual LEDS started to flicker.
Today the light won't turn on.
I thought it would last much longer.
Model 8045E-WH
Bought the Lights of America - Model 8045E-WH but failed after month of use. Went and bought new bulbs for it but still didn't work so replaced with a new fixture.
I have emailed [protected]@lightsofamerica.com multiple times with no response, so posting here.
Very disappointed in my purchase and would never buy from Lights of America again. =(
&5 Year Bulb& lasted 2 hours!
Here is what I wrote to Lights of America regarding a 3-pack of 60W CF Bulbs:
I bought one of these 3-pack of "Value Pack SDG&E) "5 year (CF) Bulb and the CRAP CF's didn't even last 2 HOURS! I've tried 2 of the 3 in the pack and BOTH blew out within 2 HOURS! I no longer have the receipt, but I still have the original Blister Pack with one unused good for crap "5 Year (120 minute) Bulb". What kind of junk do you sell? I want a GOOD replacement pack! Don't blame my lamp either, I put back in a Philips equiv CF bulb that is already 4 years old and it still works in that lamp!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
During the 3 months following the Live EArth concert I replaced nearly 36 incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescents, with 5 yr warranty, throughout the house.12 weeks later an indoor compact failed.I could not get a refund because I didn't have a receipt and a log for which compact went where in the house and outside.
Let buyers be aware of this.
False LED advertised life
Do not buy Lights of America LED bulbs. They burn out after a small fraction of the stated life.
I purchased 4 Lights of America 1.5 watt 2026LED-30K LED Bulb bulbs in 2010. They did not have enough lumens to light up a room, but they were good for a bedside light to read by or to illuminate the house numbers on the front of my house. So I was happy at first. They seemed to be about the same as a 20 watt incandescent. Plus I liked the cool plastic housing.
These LED bulbs are advertised to last 30, 000 hours. I kept the packaging just in case they didn't last. All four 2026LED LED bulbs burned out in less than 6 months, all in 2010. I do not recommend Lights of America LED bulbs, all 4 Lights of America bulbs failed in 6 months and are advertised to last 30, 000 hours. I estimate all 4 LED bulbs lasted 300 hours instead of the advertised 30, 000 hours.
I took 2 of these Lights of America LED bulbs Lights of America 2026LED-30K LED Bulb back to the local Walmart were I got them along with the packaging, but Walmart would not give me credit, a replacement, or money back without a receipt, even with the original packaging (who keeps a receipt for a light bulb, but if you buy one of these you better keep the receipt). They said I had to go to the manufacturer. I told them to look up this purchase up on my credit cart, but they said Walmart is not setup to do that. Sorry for the extra rant about Walmart, but it was related to my Lights of America purchase.
I contacted Lights of America by email, they did email back, but said I had to have the receipt or send the 2026LED LED bulbs back at my expense. I still might send them back, but what good is that to pay for shipping for LED's that I know will only last 6 months or less?
Here is the form letter response I received back from Lights of America.

Low Quality/Bad Warranty
Description: I purchased six CF floodlamps to replace incadescent floods. One of them failed out of the box and was returned to Walmart for replacement. To date, I have had three of these fail. I have no confidence that the others will last anywhere near the 10, 000 hours as advertised. They are on maybe two hours a night every night which adds up to approximately 400 hours. Of course, I don't save my receipts for insignificant purchases and don't have the one for this purchase or the receipt for the returned unit. These lamps have very poor quality and without a receipt, you are out of luck.

Defective product
I've replaced all the leds again and put in a 320 ohm resistor in place of the 10 ohm fuse. When i mounted the puck i put in a 1 / 4 in spacer so it isn't right up against the wall or ceiling, giving it some breathing room. Seems to have done the trick. Been about a month now and still working. Way to much work for this pos.
I've replaced the burned out LEDs in these a few times and they still die. I can't figure out why. Must be heat build up. I've had no problems with LoA LED regular bulbs.
One puck lost in few months
I have 5 pucks burnt out already too... of course, I lost my reciept...
I have had 7 pucks burn out already
Scam and cheating
I purchased a LED under the counter light set consisting of four light 'pucks' each containing 24 individual LEDs. The package said the product was warranted for 2 years. Within 2-3 months, two of the pucks had gone out. The set costs approximately $25 at Costco, but since I could not find the original receipt, Lights of America would not replace the bad 'pucks'. Additionally, if I had found the receipt I would have been responsible for sending the entire set back to the company for replacement, paying postage myself. All in all not much of a warranty and not much of a product. I have seen several complaints on-line about this item, but LoA does not seem included to do anything about it and have they taken the item off their website product line page.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
My experience with Lights of America products, although a different product than yours, is just about the same as I see on other posts around the internet. I bought two of the 65W dusk/dawn yard light, and each one failed within 3 to 6 months. On one, the board "blew up" inside, and I'm lucky nothing caught on fire.
I will no longer purchase any LOA product. Cheap, isn't always less expensive. Installing, and uninstalling a blown out fixture, cost more money in time than it would to install a more expensive and dependable fixture, and never have to touch it again, except to replace a bulb every 8000 hours...
LED Flood Light
I purchased a 5w LED Flood Light at Sam's Club a few months ago and after a few weeks it started flickering until it finally stopped working altogether. It appears one of the more than 80 LED's burnt out. Most of the LED products on thier website claim 10, 000 hours of service. This one never came close. Since it was purchased with a large food order I doubt that I still have the receipt so no point in trying to get a replacement. Reading other complaints on the companies products it doesn't appear to be worth the troble or cost to try to get a replacement. Lesson learned; if one LED can disable an entire bulb, the technology just isn't there yet. Save your money.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I bought a Lights of America LED floodlight at Ace Hardware and paid 20.99 for it! It lasted about a month before 1/2 of the LEDs went out. The other half went out a month after that. So, 20.99 for a light that lasted 2 months. I am going to try to get my money back from Ace. This company should be reported...
I purchased several Lights of America Led lights for my outside lights. After about six months all the lights went out. All were returned to Wal Mart. They replaced all six lights, Lights of America said to send them back. It cost too much so I want buy the Leds from Lights of America again. I too think they know of the defect in their LED lights.
I have one of their LED technology bulbs that lasted 5 months, but the package guaranteed two years, with no hour rating. To return the $5.67 bulb for exchange allegedly requires the original package (a blister pack) and I get to pay the postage, which at the parcel post rate is several dollars.
It's my belief that Lights of America is well aware their products don't come close to lasting as long as the warranty period, are ghastly more expensive than an incandescent bulb, and don't save the consumer one darn penny. Neither does it do anything toward reducing landfill waste that will never decompose.
I was going to return this bulb, just to see what kind of handling I received. After thinking on it a while, I think the least cost smartest choice is just don't pick up that brand any more for any lighting need. Both their CFL and LED products have performed miserably for me.
Both Phillips and General Electric light bulbs have delivered faultlessly, and I think I'll just stay with them.
At Costco you don't need a receipt as they keep track of your purchases through your membership number. Sams Club may work differently but it's worth a try.

These lights did the same melt and burn thing to me. I bought these at Wal-Mart, and I just kept buying more and returning the burnt out ones until I had a set of 'good' ones. Wal-Mart stopped selling them so I couldn't continue to replace defective pucks anymore. The last of these lights (the ones that ended up working) are now dim, and yellow. Lights of America hides behind the USA flag while selling over-priced, cheap, defective, and possibly dangerous products made in China.
I want to keep the thread alive seeing as Lights of America must have realized at some point (before now) a recall was in order.
Same old thing. 33% of mine do not work. It looks like one of the resistors failed and the unit got so hot that it melted a hole in the outer plastic casing. Cheap and ultimately could be dangerous.
these lights are junk, wal mart here in canada sells them and i'm now on my fourth set. loa should look into this they must have a ton of returns. i just found a light on ebay called a gx53 it look the same but i am not sure if it will fit. i might have to order one to try
correction to my first comment: "supply of 5mm WHITE LEDs" - indeed, a typo
For more info about repairing and modifying these lights check this blog post:
http://elabz.com/hacking-lights-of-america-led-lights/
There are couple more things that can be done to these lights but, unfortunately, all require soldering skills and a supply of 5mm while LEDs
same thing here. enjoyed it for 2 months while it worked. then it burned out and now i can' t find a replacement puck not even at walmart where i bought this thing. don't buy Lights of America products because these things are made in china. nothing says "Made in America" anymore. i miss the old days when things were made here in this country and lasted for 3 generations or more.
I have bought a 3 light puck set and one of them burned out the first night we have used them and we were not able to find replacement pucks yet.
Very poorly designed product.
After taking one of the pucks apart and probing around, I found one of the 24 series led's bad. It seems they are over-driving all of the led’s. I replace one bad led, then added a 1200 ohm 1/4 watt resistor and placed it in the blank location named R3. Now turn the printed circuit board over and cut the trace shorting across R3 using an exacto knife. The puck is back together and I fixed it myself.
If you would need more details you may email me.
If you bought them from Costco take them back. If you don't have a receipt and you bought them with a credit card, Costco can look it up. You have to be firm with them, they can do it.
bought it from castco just like everybody else. 8 bulbs burned out.

FLUORESCENT CANOPY LIGHT
85 Watt Fluorescent Area Light - 750 watts of light output - 80%* lower operating costs - bulb lasts 13 times longer
Model: 9385
Purchased 10 of these lights a little over a year ago at Home Depot. Purchased 1 light after installed did not work at all. Just recently my first bulb blew out. Went to replace it and the whole inside was burnt and fell out. Another fixture just had a bulb blow out and went to replace that bulb and again the whole inside is melted and burnt - this time the wires were even burnt. I will be happy to post photos. Now I'm concerned about the other 8 fixtures. We were planning on replacing all of our fixtures with these but not anymore.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I bought one of their desk lamps and its" touch to turn off and on" feature stopped functioning after only 2 yrs.
I have several of these lights (9385B) and they are also burning the inside of the housing to a crisp black, not brown, but BLACK. Will there be a recall on theses?
