Customer service and professionalism
While I have not lost any amount of money, I have spent considerable time making LiveAuctioneers aware of a fraudulent lot being repeatedly brought for sale by four (4) affiliated California Auction houses.
Let’s cut to the chase: LiveAuctioneers will not come to your defense (whether you be a consumer or a business), so you must check out an auction house to ensure its integrity…LiveAuctioneers is just acting as a platform/facilitator. While LiveAuctioneers does have a wonderful platform, they are NOT engaged in tracking/monitoring/following up on auction houses that list on their site and utilize nefarious practices.
The Background: I purchased a one-of-a-kind, very expensive Cartier pendant directly from a Pennsylvania jeweler in January 2023 (not on the LiveAuctioneers platform). This pendant has a serial number. Cartier does not duplicate its serial numbers. To my dismay, I discovered that a group of four affiliated California auction houses were attempting to sell this piece, using the same pictures that my Pennsylvania jeweler had on his web site (literally, they are the same pictures and in the exact order as my jeweler’s site). I alerted LiveAuctioneers’ customer support and initially, they were responsive over a series of weeks. I even had a representative’s name. The rep made me prove ownership of the piece in question, which I was more than able to do. She acknowledged my ownership. She told me that she would work with their Bidder Support team to determine the next steps. In the end, they found that there were multiples of this piece on the internet, but failed to understand that the existing pictures on the internet were of the same piece, placed by the Pennsylvania jeweler, and had not been removed (I did explain this to them). The fatal flaw is the serial number. Even if there were multiples of this piece, they could not have the same serial number…. that is a fact….. After I kept pushing for a response for next steps, no email was returned from any rep of LiveAuctioneers. This says a lot about this organization and their management team – I don’t fault the rep as she is taking direction from management. I even wrote a letter of concern to the president and its chief customer service vice president, explaining in detail, initially faxing it, and then sending it, return – receipt to their corporate headquarters in NYC. Both were received. I never got a reply to my cell phone or to my email. That is so disappointing. Again, this speaks volumes about the professionalism of this organization.
Bottom Line: You are at the mercy of the auction houses. BE CAREFUL. I have reached out to these California auction houses through the weeks to ask them not to list an item to which they or their consignor could not possibly have. They have now sold the same piece (with the same pictures) twice now…How is that possible? And for an amount that is significantly above retail. Again, another flag. For clients/customers who are usually savvy, how is it that this piece is breaking records? Lots of concern with these four California Auction houses.
LiveAuctioneers would rather make money off each lot sold and is less concerned about the validity of the houses using their platform….Integrity is paramount in the auction world…if you lose that, you lose everything.
Desired outcome: LiveAuctioneers needs to be the watchdog for their site..my concern is one of hundreds of similar concerns brought forward and yet a blind eye has been turned.
Alleged disputes
I have contacted the reported two disputees. Everything is resolved. I did not initiate any disputes or complaints. Some auctions houses have to worked out S&H ver well, give suggestions, and then do not follow through. For some reason unknown to me. my account remains suspended. By whom and for what? All bills have been paid. One vendor never sent me a invoice for some german WW2 stamps after I had sent several requests for same. That vendor contacted me after months and sated that issue was resolved. I offered to complete the purchase to settle the matter. Did no get a response. What else do I need to do? have auctions coming up, you keep sending me notices. When I login. all items are marked "Account suspended". Please fix this. Ronald Ward, M.D. Email: [protected]@sbcglobal.net
Desired outcome: Resolution. Lifting of account suspension

Bidhaus auctions
FRAUD!
I have purchased nearly 35 thousand dollars of merchandise which I successfully was the highest bidder on through Liveauctioneers.com.
On Sunday Feb 5th I purchased a number of items, as the successful bidder on a live auction with Bidhaus. I received email confirmation congratulating me and showing each item and my winning bid. I contacted the auction house a couple of times asking if they were charging my credit account that I have on record with Liveauctioneers, I received no reply until today February 7th which stated that they made a mistake with the auction.
In an email from them they stated that they are unable to locate my invoice. Upon hearing this I sent them copies of the emails that I received stating the items and prices of those items that I won I told them to contact liveauctioneers to confirm.
There were several other bidders who bid on the items that I ultimately won. THere were more bids that I lost at auction than won. Now Bidhaus is telling me that they have to abide by their terms of sale which says "If "it was sold in error by our Auctioneer they reserve the3 right to cancel the auction.
The AUction already Occurred and was closed after auctioning off hundreds of items, which I suspect hundreds of successful bids were cancelled after the fact.
Desired outcome: I want the items that I successfully won sent to me.

90% of the ground stone and knapped flint he offers in his auctions are not old and of recent manufacture. New Collectors and thhe naieve think because he's online he can be trusted. This Auction Platform allows him to dump spurious artifacts into the market to uneducated. See his current and past auctions.
There are also questionable providers of Certificates of Authenticity that team up with artifact manufacturers to dupe the uninformed and new collectors.

I will be filing a Fraud Complaint with the U.S. Post Mater soon about all this regarding eBay. You might want to develop a policy to avoid conspiratorial scrutiny

Desired outcome: Get these shysters off your platform, and not dumping fakes.
[protected] I have a invoice for only one of these items. Rapid estate
I was able to locate one invoice I asked Rapid if they could help me get these invoices numbers to no avail.
If that one invoice covers all three items than I apologize I didn't know,
Desired outcome: Just send either me or UPS the invoices so I can finally get my merchandise. Auction houses want their money PDQ but can't reciprocate
Gold Standard Auctions
This is for anyone who purchased/sold using Gold Standard Auctions on HiBid, Proxibid, Invaluable, or LiveAuctioneers!
Time to get these frauds taken down. If you had any of the following happen on any of the above referenced auction platforms:
1) Purchased a counterfeit;
2) Listing images were altered (differ from actual coin);
3) Bait and switch (different coin);
4) Gross misrepresentation of condition;
5) Slab from PGA and any of the above;
6) Failure to deliver or provide refund;
7) Failure to pay consignments.
Shoot an email to [protected]@gmail.com with a summary explanation of your experiences.
I purchased a coin from Gold Standard Auctions. The website stated 1806 50 cents piece, uncirculated MS 62. When I had the coin graded by PCGS, it was 25 cents piece, ungradeable. I asked for a refund, but they refused. I have purchased many coins from Apmex that are raw with a grade and the coin comes out the grade stated or higher. This is clearly fraud. And because my purchase was over $500, it is considered a feloney.
Artwork severely undervalued in auctions
Live auctioneers is currently running an auction of an extremely well known collected artist whose current values worldwide at all galleries are the same between 25 to 35K for one-of-a-kind paintings and this auction house is selling one of the paintings with a bid starting at $1200…
It could be because the seller doesn’t want to pay a large amount of taxes and doesn’t care about the value But people are going to question if it is authentic because his values are shown everywhere…
How can this be legal for an auction house to not do any due diligence on their part about living artists and what they are currently selling for in the real world… They do harm to the artists, the galleries and their collectors… The auction houses need to be held responsible this is abhorrent
I certainly hope that people would question what they are bidding on and do their own research and see if it looks legitimate but most people probably just want a good deal and don’t care… This needs to be stopped
Shady
Desired outcome: The auction is stopped, and a correct amount is put on it, or if they continue the auction that the value of the sale is not shown or made public
Extreme difficulty in removing myself from Wmail list -- unsubscfribing
I have been trying for several weeks now to unsubscribe from LiveAuctioneers email list. When I've followed directions for unsubscribing, they either lead noplace or to a dead end (a page on which unsubscribing is not an option), or they fail to go through. please help me remove myself from the list. There also seems to be no LiveAuctioneers phone number for this problem.
Desired outcome: To unsubscribe from LiveAuctioneers email list

Passing Items that have bids because not enough money
Today, I place bids on an auction from Rapid Estate Liquidators and Auction Gallery on your site. I had several bids being the winning bidder and the auction company marked the lots "PASSED". I asked the auction house why did you pass the lots. I received an e-mail stating he said he would not sell at those low prices. These auction listing were not marked an item with a reserve. I think that this is an unethical auction practice. I will think twice in bidding on one of your auctions. Thank you.

Hello, I am writing an article about your company LiveAuctioneers and the companies your company represents selling antiques. From buying $500 worth of Belleek china and getting charged $399.88 in shipping costs. Then receiving the china with about 1/3 of the items broken. Then, e-mailing the shipper and auction house without any communication. Then, buying several items at an auction house at a reasonable price with a $20 charge for shipping. I would certainly recommend this auction house/shipper! Auction houses like Rapid Estate Liquidators refusing to honor bids because the amount is NOT HIGH ENOUGH for lesser quality items and his favorite shipper sent me an estimate for one 5" tall figurine at $30.42. When I contact a UPS Store in Orlando, Florida for shipping is $13.86. I wonder which shipper I ask to ship to me? HA! HA! HA!. For being over with 40 years in the antique business; I NEVER saw such corruption in the on-line auction house business. Please e-mail. Thank you! Mark H. Mcclendon
Auction lots are 323, 179, 351, 439, 138, 427, 340 & 358. He accepted one bid for an item, because he thought I paid enough for it. Thank you. Mark

You Won
I bid and was told I won items on 12/12/2021 with a live auction and now I'm told it is not a real auction because the items did not sell for enough.
How can you list things as a live auction?
David
Desired outcome: I would like to pay for the item I was told I won!!!
Ring and Watches
I have purchased many items on liveauctioneers. When the seller is legit there is no issue. However, if a seller doesn't refund a payment or does not send anything at all Liveauctioneers will not protect the buyer at all. Multiple communications and emails and information sent and on payments of over $14000 for a fake ring I was able to recover only $7000 from the seller after two months. LiveAuctioneers would not care if the sellers don't respond, they will not stop them from selling more items and they will not help you at all. They will just say they are monitoring the situation but nothing will happen.
On another purchase of a $75000 Rolex watch LiveAuctioneers would not help at all when the seller didn't send the watch or refund my money. You can't sue liveauctionners because their policy you sign says you are bound by arbitration only. They will not help you at all.
Avoid using this site at all costs unless buying cheap garbage you don't care about losing your money. Don't use it for expensive items as you won't have any protection whatsoever in case of fraud.
If you had the same issue please file a complaint with the IC3 FBI section. Easy to do online and let's get these out providing a platform for cheaters and scammers without any responsibility. Is the only way to enforce accountability.
Avoid at all costs!
Desired outcome: Refund of my payments
How about stop buying from them and getting nothing, and just donate to me and much will be achieved...lol Just kidding. But seriously, sounds like this auction house is best left alone, or any auction site, or store for that matter, that does not protect the buyer 100% I certainly will leave it alone.
Payment procedure
I participated and bought several jewelry items for $21, 949.00 including the buyers premium from Prestige Auction Galleries .Inc.. I got the invoice and it says pay through Pay pal.
I wanted to return few items my wife does not want for sentimental reason, that Sapphire jewellery causes bad things to us. I sent a message if I can return. He told me that once sold they cannot be returned, it is not consistent with your site info. any way I want to just pay. I tried to pay through Pay Pal and sent $5000 as a test.
Now he says he takes only upto 10, 000 by cards and now wants all the money wire transferred. This was not told nor is in their website. For that he said he told me so. If I knew I would not have participated in this auction.
Please settle this dispute. i want use my cards through pay pal as he wanted. now changed his mind.
I am not sure what will be condition of the jewellery when I receive them?
Thank you,
Dr. Upendranath Nimmagadda.
Desired outcome: return the items.
Allowing a company to use their platform to sell worthless coins.
Gold Standard Auctions in Dallas Texas uses this platform to hold fake auctions, with fake bidders to run up sales on worthless coins. They list them as uncirculated and when you receive them they are cleaned and worthless. I paid $2600 for a coin that is worth $85. They continue to allow these crooks to use their platform after many people have complained about them. They are helping crooks steal innocent peoples money. Even though our paperwork shows Live Auctioneers, they say they none of our info.
Desired outcome: I want my $9984 returned and I will give them back our worthless coins.

The way your company has been discriminating against me and my company Holly auctions
Over the years despite following every guideline set by your company I, my auction listing and my company has been discriminated one way or another by your staff and the way your company search engine is set. I have asked numerous times from your staff to help me fix any issues that may be with my auctions and auction listing. I have had numerous bongos and nonsensical answers ranging all spectrum of human reasoning. But non made sense and none fixed the problem. The problem was that my items did not show up anywhere on your site other than in my catalog. Despite the thousands of dollars of advertising and promotional money, my traffic hovered stout 100 page views per day. When recently I questioned your staff, I was banned after being accused of making false accounts and false bid. I resent that accusation and aim to fight it in court of law to clear my name. Specially after nearly 90+ auctions over ten years on your platform. I have not done anything of the sort that your staff have accused me, and I hold your company legally responsible for the deformation and stress and embarrassment and financial loss they have caused me. I will spend everything I have to prevent your company to do the same to another person ever again. Unless you apologize and retract and reinstate my account, I will file a lawsuit and claim for damages not limited to above-mentioned damages.
Desired outcome: Reinstate my account and apologize

Gun Auctions USA
On Jan 1st 2021 on Gun Auctions USA I bid and won as per email I received confirming I had won a Heritage 22 cal pistol for $210. After contacting the auction house to pay my invoice I was informed that I did not win the bid and that the gun was paid for and shipped to another bidder. When speaking to Rick who identified himself as a owner he told me...
Read full review of Live Auctioneerscyber-stalking customers, review manipulation, cyberbullying and no support
I've been a victim of cyber-bullying and stalking from one of the auctioneers on this website, and the company turned a blind eye to it. I was begging them for help for days, and I finally started to file complaints against the company. They suspended my account siting my threat of a lawsuit against the auctioneer. My jaw hit the floor. I couldn't believe that they would condone this auction house sending me threatening emails, sharing my personal information online without my permission, harassing me and following me back to my workplace online to taunt me in front of friends, colleagues and clients just because I gave him a bad review, but just because I said i would sue him and I used a couple of swear words I get banned from bidding there. But the auction house who did this is still on the website doing regular business. I have contacted several state agencies about this to file formal complaints against both LA and the auction house who did this. They specifically threatened to damage the reputation of the business where I work if I didn't delete negative reviews for their company. That this auction house even had the information of where I work should have been a red flag to LiveAuctioneers that they have a problem auction house on their hands whose business conduct is unethical. I never gave them that information, and they could only have obtained it by stalking me online. LiveAuctioneers only cares about getting paid and swear words. They won't even address the real issue.
