Lume smells bad
I ordered the unscented versions of the cream stick and the cream because some fragrances can bother me. I received my order yesterday and used it for the first time today. However, I can’t get past the smell of Lume itself. Yuck! Even by the end of the day, I could still smell that smell. I won’t be using it again. Just another $30+ down the drain.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund, but I suppose that’s too much to hope for.
I have not received my order S7309966. I

Product
I really don't care about the commercials, my husband and I laugh. I bought the product and have been using it. I personally think it smells worse than BO. It tries to mask the smell with fragrances, but what you get is an "after smell" if you will, sort of the equivalent of a bad after taste. I've let numerous people smell the creams and all agree they smell bad. I would not buy again.
The commercials are offensive and just gross.
Commercials
Lume commercials are repulsive..
Inappropriate. Children can be seeing this advertisement and I am a Grandmother and I find it sickening. Please stop these commercials! She talks about spreading her product on butt cheeks (her words) and then there are many more line of her Lume commercials that are vulgar. Bad content. Shameful. I may have to stop watching Satellite TV and favorite shows because her commercials are there all the time.
Please stop these commercials, they upset me so much it's stressful. I can't believe these are even allowed.
Thank you.
Desired outcome: Stop Lume commercials !Please!Vulgar. Gross. Against morals. Children are seeing this. I'm an adult and I find them sickening. Shameful to the human body. Shameful to advertising.
Any physician that uses the term boobs instead of breasts has lost my attention
no matter what they are selling!
I could not agree more. The mere sight of this disgusting LumeDeo woman sends me running to mute her words and remove the image from the screen as rapidly as possible.
Me too. I am so over these ads for a problem that mere showering can address--and that woman--she has no shame. These ads should be print-only. Can the ad-makers not understand that grotesque commercials repeated ad nauseam are just that and will NOT sell products but WILL cause viewers to tune out? When they don't get the intended response, what then? Will we be subjected to watching this woman APPLY it to her exposed genitalia and rectum? Really?
The ad on youtube is disgusting and repulsive. I keep stopping the ad but youtube keeps playing it.
Never received order
I placed my order (#[protected]) on12/13/2022. My credit card ws charged over $36.00 for product. I want my order now!. Is Lume threating me because my issue is to short and can not be delt with really!
I placed my order on November 25 and was charged $37.87. Still haven't received my order and it is December 30.
I placed my order December 15 for $52.97 thru Palpal and I haven't received my order either.
fresh alpine, clean tangerine, unscented deodorant
I placed order: S7276954 it seemed to take a very long time. Finally it arrived Dec 6th.
I opened the Fresh Alpine 1st. The white plastic piece that is normally on top was not there. I put it on and it smelled worst then any body odor - to finally smell better after many washings with mens soap I used full strength alcohol more washing and finally smelled better.
Opened up the Clean Tangerine. Again missing the top white plastic piece. Then I looked it over - it had someone's under arm hair on it - yes it did! Apparently someone had returned it and it was recycled?
Opened up the Unscented - it had the white plastic piece as it should have.
This is disgusting
Desired outcome: I would like a full refund asap. As well as an apology - I would hope this was an error shipping out an order of 2 out of the 3 appearing as tho they have been used.
Let me begin by apologizing to your company. I had no idea my husband had opened the 2 containers up to try them. Normally he would never have done that.
I would please like a refund - I didn't like it at all
Thank you

On October 25th my wife ordered:

She ordered:
1 ea. Silver Spruce | Solid Deodorant Stick / stick
1 ea.Peony Rose | Cream Deodorant Tube / tube
1 ea.Lavender Sage | Deodorant Mini Tube / free-item
And a Mystery Item
From lumedeodorant.com
On Nov. 5 $49.98 their payment was withdrawn from my VISA account.
On Nov. 15 I informed Lume Support that the order had not been received yet.
Nov. 15 I got an automated reply informing me that someone would contact me within 3 days. Never occurred!
On about 11/23 or 24 a package arrived but didn’t contain what was ordered. Instead it had 1 16 oz. Bottle of biofilm buster, 1 bag (15 cnt.) whole body deodorant wipes and 1 0.75 tube of invisible cream deodorant.
On 11/29 I informed Lume of their error in item ordered vs. delivered. They replied with an automated re: link to return/refund which I went to only to be informed that the order number could not be found.
Desired outcome: Complete refund
Lume
The person in the commercials claims to be a board certified OB/GYN doctor, yet she uses unprofessional, negative terms for anatomical human body parts such as crotch, boobs, butt crack, pits, etc. Her commercials are shaming to women regarding their natural bodily processes. The situations the doctor claims can be ;cured' by Lume' can also be treated with a simple shower. She is promoting an expensive product as a 'cure' for a natural process. She is taking advantage of less knowledgeable people by provoking their shame about body scent that can be eliminated by daily baths/shower. Shame on her. It's also not appropriate for young people to hear the derogatory expression of human body parts. It is completely unprofessional for an OB/GYN to refer to a vagina as a 'crotch' and breasts as 'boobs'. I know this because I am a Masters prepared RN who was reprimanded for using the term 'boobs' when referring to human breasts.
Desired outcome: Please, please, please remove these inappropriate commercials from TV
Take the lume commercails off of television period!
DISGUSTING REPRESENTATION AND SHE Knows it! She just think she’s funny and she is NOT!
I personally don’t want any body smell talk or butt cheek talk at every turn on TV. . When did this problem become mainstream and tv ready? . I dion’t know of many or any people (Thank God) with butt cheek odor. Do butt cheeks actually smell? Or is it the crack? Either way it’s a crude conversation. That commercial has me looking at everyone wondering if their butt cheeks smell!
I really despise these ads. The latest one shows one woman bent over while a
Another woman sniffs her butt.
That is only appropriate if you are a dog.
I agree, and the owner/ spokesperson is mentally ill. She has stated she has no interest in toning down commercials…and in a gleeful tone. Likely a bully in school.
She deserves to be censured. Her latest ad on HGTV no less, she giggles with. finger full of the op she sells and tells the ‘audience’ to ignore her while she removes a “booger” from the glop.
Then launches into suggestions- completely inappropriate- where one can use it.
She IS the ‘stank’. I’ll watch nothing from any station supporting this prepubescent, pig.
Agree with all the negative comments about lume products. as well as their horrible spokesperson. BAN LUME!
She is inappropriate with her language I am a grandma of 11 and children should not be hearing this nasty woman talk the way she does on television they play the commercial to much and every time i eat I want to puke cause it's nasty I can watch people getting cut open and decomposing body's on show's but this lady is just nasty she should have her medical license taken away! She is not all together
Still no response to my 4 emails and one letter!!!
I ordered in early November Lume solid stick, and Lume lotion deodorant.
I waited 2 weeks and the envelope came and only one product was in the envelope, the lotion but no solid stick. So I wrote an email, waited one week no response, wrote another email, no response, waited another week and no response, so I wrote a letter. I paid over $30.00 and only got one product. They had given me 30% off which I thought was a nice gift, only to be jilted out of one item. I kept getting responses that they are inundated with orders and questions and will get back to me soon, but no response and it's been 4+ weeks. Furthermore, the Lume lotion deodorant was Peony/Rose fragrance, and that smell was awful, it smells like dirty crotch (sorry but its the truth). I am very upset to have lost my money and no response and have a crappy product that I will not use.
Desired outcome: Its been 4 plus weeks since I have complained about missing one item,
Worst company I ever dealt with! I ordered the stsrter bundle pack and when it arrived an item was missing. I sent several emails and they replied with an auto response that they received my emails… no other action on their part. I opened a case through Paypaland one PayPal contacted them, Lune sent me the missing product. Case closed. I liked the products so I put in another order for exact same bundle. This time instead of a 3 oz tube of body cream deodorant (as advertised) they sent a .5 oz. I will never place another order with this company again. It’s not worth the aggravation!
I would appreciate that you take of that particular screen from the commercial.
The first time the commercial aired I was taken back. Here we were watching with our young grandchildren and have to cover their eyes and ears from a Hallmark commercial. I am appalled that a commercial with conversation about crotch smell should be aired on a Hallmark show. This is the type of commercial that should be aired after 9PM when all small children should be done watching tv for the night. The screen shot of the following commercial is still not appropriate for prime time viewing.
Desired outcome: Butt smelling is not really something you want a 3 year old to see on TV and than try to tell them not appropriate public behavior.
Lume
My name is Mary Ann Hilton [protected]@yahoo.com I dont really care for the ad's on TV but I still ordered it to see if it really did work. The first day of using it I thought WOW no odor (I'm a larger woman ) But when I woke up the next morning in pain under my arms and saw the rash hives and swelling under my arms. I stopped using it. Once the swelling went down almost 2 weeks later I thought maybe it was from something else since I did use a new laundry detergent. So i put Lume under just one arm pit and again my pit broke out in red hives so painful I couldn't stand it. I will never use this product again.
Desired outcome: Just to warn people that this product may not be for everyone. Even if a Dr. made it.
Lume Deodorant
I ordered a sample pack of products on October 24, 2022 and it took three weeks for me to receive my order. Then the order wasn’t complete. I emailed customer service four times, which by the way is the only way to contact the company, and they never responded.
The product has a weird smell even the unscented ones and it is definitely not worth the price.
I’m trying to get my money back under their guaranteed 60 day refund policy and it doesn’t look like that’s going to be accomplished.
Desired outcome: A FULL refund.
Lume Deodorant
Although my wife and I have never had "The Pleasure" of viewing one of their commercials, from what I am reading on this site, that is a positive. We are not prudes and do believe that freedom in this country means just that, however, when people disagree with the context in which some people use that to their advantage, the public has a right to also express their opinion, hopefully, to make those responsible, at least reconsider their actions. That said, my issue is an unsolicited email from this company that fortunately ended up in my spam folder. I was curious because it had one of those spam gobbly [censored] email addresses, rather than one that you would normally associate with a legitimate business. If this company can't even use a legitimate email address, exactly how legitimate are they? The comments seem to imply, not very!
Desired outcome: I would like an official apology and for them to stop spamming me, and probably thousands of others!
Complaint
I have also seen a number of complaints about their awful customer service, which is lacking; the fact that many customers, after paying for the product, did not receive it; and also, apparently the product itself smells odd, abnormal, such as scents close to "wet dog," etc. I believe that what I have discovered is enough to tell me this product is certainly NOT worth the high prices, despite whether the commercials are positive or negative, but truly they are beyond disgusting, uninformative, and worse yet, full of fallacies, untruths, awful bias. They are extremely degrading, and only offer negative impressions of women and women's natural hygiene. Apparently, even showering is not enough anymore. How did humans even procreate to this point if women were so unappealing? I know for a fact that showering was far from an everyday thing not too far back in our long, reproducing past! To encourage this fallacy of all women naturally smelling awful, how can such a commercial get away with such degrading, sexist spew?
The product itself is hardly up to snuff according to many reviews. I have yet to see a positive review about the product itself! As I mentioned, the product seems lacking, and, in fact, if you think about it, this is exactly why the commercials are so gruesome. It is misdirection! While we are here discussing the ads, it is a natural thing that it not only catches our attention, but eventually piques our curiosity. I'll admit, the commercials flat out repulsed me, but at the same time, eventually, despite my revulsion, I became interested in the product, wondering if it was in fact a quality product. Thank goodness I did check out the reviews! Not only is it a relief that others feel as I do. It seems that the product is like one of those cure-all medicines sold from the back of a wagon in the West, with a colorful container, and a salesperson who could and would, as the saying goes — put perhaps a little kinder — sell ice to those living in Alaska during one of their cold winters! It is truly an exact modern replica of such BS sales of BS crap that no one needs, but still, we get roped into buying. How about those vacuums sold door-to-door that would break in a week, or those stupid timeshares that were so popular in the late 90s? People have been trying to get out of those contracts ever since! It is just a well-marketed scam. The whole point of such ghastly commercials is to get us talking about the product, despite whether the product is one of quality or no. The discussions regarding the ads end up drowning out the bad reviews and piques interest so that this company will make a crap-load of money and, if we are lucky, disappear into the night. Hopefully, in ten years we do not hear about the product causing a serious disease of the skin or other areas of the body, such as cancer, where people, former customers, are now trying to seek assistance through the courts or government channels. This truly would not surprise me one bit!
Ironically, the commercial is now playing at the moment! I cannot tell you how many times, as I honestly have lost count! Granted, in this country, we have a right to sell all kinds of useless crap. However, I feel that when a company uses blatant bias, false research and information, and awful untruths about women's bodies, which are potentially harmful to women and young girls, there is a line that has been flagrantly, callously crossed here. How could any woman feel comfortable or confident in her own skin after being bombarded with commercials telling them that they are naturally gross, that they constantly reek, and are odorous beings, where such a problem needs immediate and serious attention? These commercials and their constant playing on TV, the internet, and goodness-knows-where-else, this is the true undesirous thing that smells up the room!
Desired outcome: Talk about not being PC, in a country that is so overly sensitive, how is it this company can get away with such despicable, sexist, and biased commercials? Such harmful ads should be either removed, or completely redone.
Lume Customer Service
I accidently approved an order I made to be shipped to a previous address. I emailed Lume immediately after it processed. Which they sent an automatic response that stated someone would contact me with 3 business days. That order was placed on Nov 9th 2022. I have sent 3 more emails since and to this day no one in their Customer Service department has ever contacted me. This issue could have been resolved sooner if Lume really cared about their customers. I am so beyond disappointed now. I had to contact the Post Office to correct this mistake and return the order back to Lume. So for me, I hope now someone from Lume will contact me by email to complete the correction of this order.
Desired outcome: Correct address and resend my product to me
I ordered 3 of the Lume Lotion Deodorant for my husband on November 13, 2022. To this day I have not received it even though they told me it was shipped. The "UPS" "tracking number" is not a UPS tracking number but is a USPS tracking number. I followed that number onto the USPS site and it says the product has not been shipped. I have sent, as of today, 6 emails to their site and have received automated responses saying that "someone" will be in touch with me. I have heard from NO ONE. I don't know what else to do.
Lume Deodorant Shipping
I placed an order that, according to tracking, left Kentucky for Wisconsin on October 18th. On the 23rd it was delivered to USPS in my home state, less than 50 miles away. THEN, it was processed in Tennessee on the 24th...and left Tennessee on the 25th? UPS? Arrived Illinois UPS on 26th? THEN, it arrives AGAIN in Wisconsin, awaiting USPS acceptance on the 27th. It is now November 13 and it sits less than 50 miles away awaiting USPS acceptance?
Seems if you have a television ad budget and can rework formulas and packaging, you could certainly get product to customers on a much more timely basis.
This complaint site
I came here for complaints or reviews of the product. I definitely wasn't interested in the prudish responses of people who don't like the advertising. So my complaint is why are complaints about advertising allowed to drown out all information related to the product? If you're watching TV while having a family meal and offended at a commercial (but probably fine with news of another celebrity/political sex scandal or local violent crime) then you DO have worse problems than [censored] crack odor. But odds are good your [censored] and brain stink equally. For this site...please use moderators to remove assinine complains about ads and focus on product performance.
Desired outcome: Remove irrelevant comments.
I do agree with you, Ray Funter, as far as wanting to find out more info about the product itself via reviews of the product. However, I must say, your very "review" is, in fact, not a review itself, but another complaint about the advertising, albeit in a different direction or viewpoint... You feel that you can address the "prudish complaints" regarding the product's advertising, but yet, your point is simply another form of complaint on the commercial. The only difference is that it is focused on those discussing their opinions/disgust for it. So, what is the real difference? Both forms of complaint do not review the product, so why is your observation any more relevant or valid than anybody else's? I do agree, I would like more info about the product itself, but this does not mean it is not out there. I have also seen a number of complaints about their awful customer service, which is lacking; the fact that many customers, after paying for the product, did not receive it; and also, apparently the product itself smells odd, abnormal, such as scents close to "wet dog," etc. I believe that what I have discovered is enough to tell me this product is certainly NOT worth the high prices, despite whether the commercials are positive or negative, disgusting, uninformative, or worse yet, full of fallacies, untruths, awful bias, and an extremely degrading, negative impression of women and women's natural hygiene. Ray Funter, you are right about the many ad comments drowning out the product reviews. Still, keep in mind that it is actually the company's intentions to disgust us and get us talking about this very thing. Please, do not be too harsh to these people, who, like yourself, has a valid point.
Lume deodorant
I find the commercials for this product offensive and in VERY poor taste. The most offensive is the commercials talking about odors from the "crotch". And, sniffing someone's posterior is exactly the type of behavior we teach our children not to do. I will never purchase this product and have already spoken with my colleagues who agree they will not buy or use the product. I will be contacting the networks which carry those offensive commercials.
If you don't like their commercials, don't watch them and yes, don't buy the product. Personally I am offended by the commercials featuring lesbians and gays kissing one another, but I just switch the channel when these ads appear. I think these ads are teaching our children far worse things than sniffing someone's posterior.
Disgusting Commercials!
This 'Dr' is disgusting and her commercials are over the top disgusting - they're on all the time - during MEAL TIMES?! Seriously? That woman talking about private parts anytime is just plain gross! Get her off the television - whoever told her that is appropriate to air these crass advertisements has no sense whatsoever! When she is getting this many complaints, why is she allowed to continue?
Desired outcome: Take these commercials off the air!
I wholeheartedly agree with the writer including desired outcome!
I did agree with you at first. Then I thought if they want u to completely understand how and why this product works why not show us? That’s what they are doing. So I tried it and I love it. I agree the commercials can be a bit embarrassing if you are with young children but why not mute or change the channel? Just trying to show both sides here. I have a need for this product so I’m happy it’s available. It’s a small company and the products truly are amazing. So please support companies like these. Don’t try to destroy someone’s hard work because you don’t like their commercial. I don’t like watching adult diaper, male catheter or ED commercials. I cringe. But I have the ability not to watch. There are far more important issues to get behind. I encourage you to use your determination to make a real difference and that will benefit everyone.
Women or MEN discussing this is disgusting.
It's a weird way to market a product, however your doing a great job. Hats off.
Love the products. Life changing for those who need a better product.

It is the most disgusting thing I’ve tried! And the smell DOES NOT GO AWAY, even after you stop using it. You just get used to that stench! But others around you can smell it. PLUS THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WHO GOT CHEMICAL BURNS FROM IT IS INSANE! Can’t wait for a class action. It’s a dangerous product and that lady should go to jail.
