I started noticing a problem with my cigarettes, they wouldn't stay lit, relighting the cigarette would cause ash and sparks to drop on clothing/surrounding areas and burning anything it dropped down on (including my hands/fingers, etc. I began coughing more and more. I mentioned this to a friend who informed me about fire safety cigarettes. First of all, I feel that information regarding this change should have been supplied within or on the pack of cigarettes. I purchased cigarettes without knowing anything about fire safety cigarettes!

Such a change, particularly on a product that already has warnings on it must be made widely public ! I do wonder if this change is yet another way to encourage folks to stop smoking. I agree that smoking is horrible for your health, but this America and we should allowed to make informed decisions about such things. We are after all adults! I believe that this issue should be further examined and any results of testing should be made public.

I have burnt myself on a daily basis since smoking these new "safer" versions of my previous favorite cigarette. I also have burnt holes in clothing and carpet because the cherry falls off or enormous amounts of the paper unravels and a huge ash lands on the closest thing it can touch, burn and ignite within seconds. Fire saftey my ###! Where are my rights?! As long as cigareetes are legal and so damn expensive,
I should have a choice whether to go up in flames or simply light my cigarette - inhale, exhale and enjoy. Just another controlling government ploy to force us into submission.

I agree. The Fsc cigs seem MORE dangerous than the other ones! I had a lapse in inhaling and the fire went out. When I inhaled it relighted and FLARED into a big cherry bomb that burnt my new Ohio State University coat! Here's a pic!

I have never gotten headaches in my life until I started smoking these FSC cigarettes. They make me nauseous as well and the fire keeps falling off and burning my clothes. How is this safer?

I am so sick and tired of all of society being punished for a handful of ###s. I've been smoking for over 25 yrs and I admit it, during some of those years I was frequently half in the bag. I've never once set anything on fire with a cigarette, nor has anyone I know and some of the people I know are complete imbeciles. If this was really about fire safety, we'd be talking about candles.

And yes, all these laws that protect idiots from their own idiocy are screwing up the gene pool.

And yes, the cherry falls off the cigarette, which doesn't strike me as safer for anyone, plus it's a waste of butane to have to keep RELIGHTING the things.

And these cigarettes taste like carcinogenic dirt. Thanks for looking out for me, Marlboro.

I absolutely agree. At first I thought I must have gotten an old carton and then the next carton was the same. I have had the fire on the end of the cigarette fall off and when it has gone out and I relight it, the end goes up in flames and falls off again. I will be searching for a different brand.

Why do we not have a choice ? I have smoked for over 30 years and have never tasted anything this terrible! You are a tobacco company!
Why in the world would you want the smokers to stop smoking? Have you tried your new fire safety cigatettes? Give the smokers a choice! Remember we can still grow our own!

These FSC cigs are TERRIBLE...I first noticed a sore throat...i am coughing more..and yes, this going out between drags is ridiculous...uneven burning..relight?, starts on fire..and take a hard drag to try and get smoke or flavor...After all these years...I am done with the expense, hassle, ridicule, and doctors telling me smoking is a cause of almost every illness I have...lol...not that I have alot of illness...

FSC CIGARETTES SUCK! they are not what they claim to be, furthermore they taste like crap. yes i know, all you non smokers out there are having a real good laugh right now, but you can"t please everyone. maybe they should put a ban of some sort on perfume, aftershave and cologne too, besides why should i have to smell someone who reeks of that stuff also. seems to me that for what i pay to smoke i should at least be able to enjoy it... f s s c...FIRE STARTING SAFETY CIGARETTES! These cigs taste like s..t! I mentioned to my mother that this last carton I bought tasted like crap and they wouldnt stay lit and it seemed like I could never get a drag off them. Unless you hotbox them they won`t stay lit and she informed me of this new crap. Also explains why i`ve started coughing and have had a headache for a freaking week. What the hell are they doing? Poisioning us or what? I`ve been smoking Marlboros for 25 years, starting out with reds and now mediums, but if this is what my money is going to by me, I might have to go ahead and try to quit, because this taste like ### and I`m not enjoying them any longer.

This crap is rediculous. Maryland showed up with these things last year, luckily i live in TN...When my mom visited a few months back, she bought like 6 cartons! Now they show up here and I race to to store the minute i hear that someone found some that aren't FSC... They go out, taste like ###, start files, put holes in my clothes cause the cherry "falls" off, i have a constant sore throat and headache now!? I believe I will start to roll my own! This is crap. I pay my taxes on these things leave me alone. I follow all the rest of the stupid rules, i don't flick on the street I even pocket and dispose of in a trash can. Marlboro you will be out of business if you keep pushing this crap, I can buy a machine a bag of tobacco and papers and roll my own for not even 1/3 of what i spend with you. It wouldbn't even matter if you sent me coupons for FREE cigarettes, if its for the FSC's you can keep it!

I HATE THESE NEW FSC CIGARETTES!
Yes I can tell the differance BIG TIME! They tast like ### make my throat hurt, give me a headache and burn me and my stuff when the ash falls off. I also hate the fact I have to keep puffing on them to keep them from going out.
I think someones making alot of money or wants to kill off alot of people or both on this new law. I cant believe the goverment can do this! why are they ###ing with are cigs? I want the old cigs back !
I am quitting smoking this ### so maybe I should thank them, but Im still pissed they
gave us no choice. Whats happen to our FREEDOM and CHOICE?

I think we have finally gotten to the "Big Brother is watching you" syndrome. The fact that the cigarette companies can sneak in a new product with out a massive advertising telling everyone they are going to put something new in their product is not right. The fire safe cigarettes appear and make you feel like they are very dangereous to your health. I agree with the others that they make you have a dry mouth and a cough and other sickneses which did not exist before. Can we sue the tobacco companies for these sicknesses? I have developed in just 3 days pimples and sore spots around my lips. I have never had this happen before. I realized a difference with the first cigarette but of course i still attempted to get the satifaction i had before. Of course i purchased a carton and yes i continued to smoke. May be if we all get together and put a law suit together for the tobacco companies to retro to the old cigarettes for those who want them, that may work. or as the other people stated just quit smoking after 35 years. Maybe it is time to quit. Between the price of cigs going sky high and this altered system its like who has time to be bothered. The ironic thing about the whole matter is people have smoked for centuries some form of substance or another and it took technology to bring about this much indifference. The worst part of it all is having some one just take, take, take your control from you in a blink of an eye and make you think, think, you are a child who needs to be repremanded. they took the control right from under us. they took our decision making ability totally with out any regard of care of the consequences. they did not give us an option, did not give it a second thought, just assumed it would be okay for all to bear. What a shame, American is supposed to be the land of the free and the brave. Free speech and etc. Well, will you get over it, or will you come together, or will you QUIT. My disagreement is being forced to do something without choices. My symptons are dry mouth, pimples developing around my lips, headaches and body aches. oh how S A D... 333...

Yes the symptoms sound familiar. Sore throat, dry mouth, respiratory infection, chills, fever, body aches, headaches . Most doctors would say you have the flu or maybe strep throat. My doctor doesn't know what I have and I have had these symptoms every since these fsc cigarettes have been on the market. The tobacco companies have a bad reputation with telling the truth in the past. Why should things change now. Maybe when the American people quit buying their products and start growing and selling their own. The multibilion dollar tobacco industry will understand that we don't need them. Even if it means another product gone to the black market. The American smoker will change and get their untampered cigarettes one way or the other. The tobacco companies would be naive to think that smokers would not know the difference in their product. These things are making people sick and should be banned for health purposes. The public should have been informed prior to their poisoning from this tainted merchandise. Any one care to talk about long term effects. Within 4-6 weeks of these fsc's I have had these symptoms develop and I am normally a healthy, active person but these symptoms seem to be lingering. I plan to grow my own tobacco and sell it, whether legal or not. If I am going to [censored] with cigarettes, I want to do it on my own terms.

I completely agree! Ever since I started smoking these things, I have terrible coughing fits. This is absolute LUNACY! I can't even smoke an entire cigarette anymore. Half way through and I'm done. I can't even enjoy it. These non-smokers think they have all the rights. WTF?

Maybe now people will stop smoking ciggie-butts. Wake up, smokers - cigs are bad for you and most people who do smoke have addicting personalities - they always need a fix from their difficulties. Ashes falling on a seat or someone's lap - hilarious!

My sister-in-law and I were talking about the FSC cigarettes today and talking about the headaches that we have had. Her headaches got so bad she was seeing doctor to see if there might possibly be a tumor, which ended up being negative, Thank Goodness. It ends up that of all our smoking friends and family, they all were complaiming of the same headaches, These FSC cigarettes will cause a lot of happily smoking customers to quit. These were a bad idea, The amber/cherry bursts in your face if you inhale right when it goes out if your close to the safety mecanism in your cigarette, which honestly it is just as dangerous. My new car has a cigarette burn in the seat from where the amber bursted. Thanks to the idiot who thought of the bright idea of the FSC cigarettes.

they seem to go out and then you take a drag and it reignites further down the smoke and makes it either burst like a small explosion and red embers burst all over causing burns and of course my accident!

These FSC cigarettes need to be researched by an independent group. They seem to cause more harm than good, more clothing, furniture and car interiors ruined. I was sick for 27 days in bed, I'm never sick! I have lost my taste and smell for over a year. I understand that cigarettes are bad for me, my father and grandfather both died from lung cancer. I don't like the new laws, but I understand that I should respect other people's wishes. Although this is my life and body and I've been smoking 40 years, I'm sure what ever damage is done, is done. But, the fact that they are adding another chemical or whatever pisses me off. There has to be some connection to my loss of taste and smell to these new FSC cigarettes! Does anybody else have this problem? If so how do we make a stand!
